Murielle gripped onto her daughter, the pain that it caused her to realize that Calista must be killed in order to save her kingdom. “Rykalis lost her life to the bracelet. It the the curse that was set upon it centuries ago. An old warlock created the piece for a king of the north, a kingdom that no longer stands. The king wanted to rule all, so he chose this very path. He found a strong mage and the king tricked her into putting this bracelet on.” Murielle whimpered softly. “What...if her father and I had chosen the prince of Luna as her groom to be...this would have happened in Luna. There would be no stopping them.” She trembled as she spoke. She brushed hair from her daughter’s eyes and wiped her own tears from Calista’s flesh. “I cannot bare to kill her...but Runik will surely fall...other kingdoms will fall. Whomever holds the jewel has complete access to her powers and yet, when she is not acting as their puppet she will be powerless. She will be unable to even harm herself...It is an evil magic...something that the king and I have fought hard to protect Calista from.”
The queen froze slightly as Morgan spoke of another way. She stood and turned as she brushed tears from her cheeks. Her brows drew together. The cold hand upon her shoulder caused a curious look to come into her eyes. She placed her own hand over Morgan’s for a moment before she allowed it to slip away. Murielle focused in upon her her brows quivered slightly. “Take her place?” She questioned and shook her head. “No dear, there is no way to take her place, her life has already been given to the bracelet...” She bit her lip slightly, the inkling of hope. Morgan sounded so confident. The queen looked back to her daughter, “The bracelet will draw from her, each time her magic swells.” She stepped to the book and flipped to the next page, there was an entire chapter worth of knowledge on the bracelet. It was truly an evil artifact.
Murielle sniffled slightly and closed her eyes as she struggled to hold back her tears. “In the condition that she is in we must not allow those of Runik to witness it. At any given moment whomever holds the jewel can access her and her powers...and...I don’t believe another mage could fight back against her.” She ran her fingertips along the page. “Here…” She spoke as she read over a paragraph of words. “Rykalis was taken by another elf, she was imprisoned in a room within a tower by magic. They kept her there for some time before all of their routes were exhausted. Even with the jewel he was unable to strip the bracelet from her.” She sniffled slightly and brushed another line of tears away. “I can perform this enchantment. It will keep us safe from her if the jewel is used to access her powers...at least...I can hope that she will not break the spell...” She glanced to her daughter with worry in her eyes. “But she must not know...if she knows that the spell has been placed...whomever holds the jewel will know and it is possible that the spell may be broken...”
Calista was beginning to stir, her eyes fluttered. The queen rushed to her side and took her hand into her own and gave a gentle squeeze. “There you are dear.” She spoke in a loving tone. “There has been an attack on the castle.” She helped her to her feet. “Your father has asked me to get you to your room, for safety, hm?” She wrapped her arm around Calista.
“Mother...I...I...” Her eyes swelled with tears. “I...” She remembered each second that she had been controlled, unable to stop it. “It wasn’t me...I didn’t do this...” She whimpered her eyes glowed slightly as her magic swelled within her. The bracelet lit up bright red and she nearly buckled against her mother.
“Shhhh it’s alright darling. Come on then.” Murielle nodded to Morgan. “The book please.” She spoke as she led her daughter from the room. The queen paused when Calista needed a break as they made their way through the castle. “I’ll make you up a bit of tea, hm?” Murielle spoke, “That will calm your nerves.” She kissed the top of Calista’s head as she helped her sit upon the edge of her bed.
“Mother...I couldn’t stop...” She breathed as tears rolled down her cheeks. “I couldn’t stop...I didn’t want to do that...I would never hurt you...” The princess trembled as she looked to her mother, then to Morgan with frightened eyes. “Why is this happening?”
Murielle came back to her daughter’s side as she heated the water, her eyes glowed lightly. “Shhhh dear, it’s alright. You were frightened. No need to apologize.” She spoke as she handed her the tea. “Just have some tea, hm?” She wrapped her arm around her and rubbed her hand over her back gently, soothing her.
Calista lifted the tea to her lips as she cried softly. “You’re...not listening...” She whispered, “Why aren’t you listening? It wasn’t me...”
Murielle drew in a breath, “Ilya fumme.” She spoke as she cupped her daughter’s cheek. She hadn’t wanted to cast such a spell on her, but in this time of need, she had no choice. Calista wasn’t drinking the tea, so she wouldn’t fall asleep, the poor girl was too distraught to drink the tea. Murielle couldn’t blame her. She’d offered no answers to what happened. She didn’t want the jewel holder to know that they were onto them. Murielle lifted the mug of tea from her daughter’s grasp as Calista leaned against her, unconscious once again. The queen carefully lay her back on her bed. She set the tea mug upon the side table. “Okay...the book...” She breathed, her voice trembled. She was having a hard time keeping herself composed.
The queen took the book from Morgan and opened it to the page with the enchantment. “We will be the only ones that may enter this room. All others will be blocked.” She spoke, “I do hope that my trust in you is pure.” The queen then set the book upon the bedside table. She held her daughter’s hand as she began to speak the enchantment. It was of the ancient languages, it was evident that Murielle had spent years perfecting the art of understanding such languages. The flames flickered within the room as an aura began to form around Calista. It was a white aura that crawled about her body. Slowly the aura moved to envelope the entire room. The queen spoke the last few words of the enchantment and a burst of power came from her. She fell to a knee at the side of the bed, her breath trembled. It was an incredibly powerful binding spell. “I...must inform...the king...” Tears rolled over her cheeks. She stood and took the book into her hands. “Please...I beg that you are right...that you may break this curse...” The queen then left the room.
Moments later Calista began to wake again. She sat up slowly, “Mother…?” She asked her voice confused. “Morgan...” She looked to the princess of Oneus. “Please...you must understand...what happened….I...” She grit her teeth as the bracelet began to glow once again. “I...can’t...” The red glow turned dark once more. Blood began to leak from her nose as her breathing became jagged. “Stop...it….” She spoke as she fought against the bracelet. She gripped her wrist. “Make...it stop...” She shook as her blood dripped to the floor, splattering across the marble. Suddenly the hold released and she gasped. She did not have the strength to fight the magic of the bracelet forever...but at least there was hope that she could push back at little. At least for now. “Morgan...” She brushed the blood from her lip, her eyes fluttered. She looked incredible tired, pale even. “I can’t fight this...” Her voice was soft, sad.

Morgan listened to the painful words of the Queen - an enchantment to subdo the princess, she didn't want to do it.. but she had to. It was moments later that the Princess woke - in a panic state. She fought for words to describe herself, and it hurt Morgan's cold heart. She watched as the Queen put her daughter back to sleep. She lifted the book and handed it over as asked.
"I will prove myself" Morgan spoke softly, to the comment regarding trust. "I've gone close to Calista, I would not let her come to harm, I promise" she smiled weakly and watched then as the queen cast the spell. Such power on display... she stepped back slightly, as the light magic seem to pull at her shadowy soul...
She sucked in a breath and nodded as the Queen left. She turned her gaze to the Princess and her gaze softened as she woke. Morgan quickly stepped over to the side of the bed and placed a hand on Calista's shoulder, gently pushing her to lay back down. She sat next to her and leaned over, an arm on the other side of the bed as she looked over the woman, she smiled slightly. "Shh" she whispered and placed a hand on Calista's head as she paniced. There was a warm aura that radiated from Morgan - one of her gifts, call it seduction if you might. She lifted her gaze and smiled - her eyes looked to the blood that leaked from her nose. She sucked in a breath and grasped a cloth from the side table and dabbed the blood away, all the while fighting her natural urges.
"Relax darling" she spoke softly and smiled. "You can do this..." she nodded "You are strong.. beautiful.." she tilted her head and set the cloth down. "All you need to do is breath.. hm? Deeply" she took a deep breath with her, and let it out slowly. "It will be over soon" she cupped her cheek and leaned back, her gaze still upon the woman. "Tell me a story, hm? Tell me.... of the first time you snuck out of this castle" she smirked "We all have, at some point.. where did you go?" her enchanting aura was demanding - forcing her to relax, and her question was to divert her thoughts onto something else...

Calista did not fight against Morgan as she pushed her back to the bed and hushed her. Though sobs came over her lips. “Please...please I can’t do this...” It was as if she already knew what her future would hold because of the bracelet. As Morgan’s hand was place upon her head the warmth caused her breathing to slow slightly, her two toned eyes gazed to the woman. Her smile was infectious. The whimpers that came over the princess’ lips seemed to melt away. “Morgan...” She whispered softly, her lip still quivered. Her voice was soothing. The princess’ heartbeat began to slow within her chest as her breathing continued to slow. “Soon.” She replied a soft smile upon her own lips then.
Calista let out a sweet giggle then. “The first time?” She asked, she seemed to be under a spell, as if she’d completely forgotten about her worries. “I was young...8 or so?” She seemed to question. “It wasn’t long after I had lit the curtains on fire by accident...my first use of magic. My mother had no idea that I held magic until then.” She had a sweet smile upon her lips. “I’m not sure how I did it, but I managed to slip passed all of the guards in the castle. I snuck through the gardens and made my way into Runik...” The princess paused a moment, the bracelet was glowing once again. Though the sweet smile that Morgan held seemed to keep Calista’s focus. “I went to the market. It was the day before my mother’s birthday.” She struggled slightly, her eyes began to glow with the aura of the gem, blood trickled from her nose once again. It was taxing, what the bracelet did to her body.
“I wanted...nothing more than to get my mother a present for her birthday.” She spoke, her voice had a bit of a tremble to it now. A white magic swirled within her eyes, diluting the magic of the bracelet. “I’d managed to talk Azer into giving me a few gold coins. Though of course the shop keep wouldn’t charge me a coin...I left her some though, I didn’t want anything for free.” Calista winced slightly and closed her eyes for a long moment, her heart rate had increased slightly again. When she opened her eyes though the glow had disappeared. “I got her a box of handmade chocolates. The finest in Runik.” She smiled sweetly. “I even managed to make my way to the valley just outside the city walls and pluck a few wildflowers...they were beautiful...purple and blue...a few small white ones...” The princess seemed deep in thought as she gazed into Morgan’s eyes.
“When I returned to the castle I made a mistake and one of the guards saw me.” She sighed softly. “I was in so much trouble for sneaking out. Until I showed my mother her gift.” She smirked slightly. “The look in her eyes. As silly as it was to do such a thing, it was all worth it, just for that.” The princess’ eyes fluttered slightly. “Did...you ever sneak from the castle when you were young?” She asked. “I...sometimes feel like I am locked within the castle walls...tucked away like a prized possession.” She gave an almost sad smile. She wasn’t wrong. The king and queen had kept Calista very safe, much more so than her brother. They knew that in the wrong hands her magic could spell the destruction of Runik and other kingdoms and they did not want to allow such a thing to happen.
There was a swift knock at the door then. “Morgan.” Azer’s voice. “The king has requested your presence in the war room.”
The voice seemed to break the trance that Calista was in. Her heartbeat started to race along. She blinked her eyes a few times and winced, “Good.” She spoke, her voice a bit strange. “I can come with you. I’m feeling much better, thank you Morgan. You’ve been such a great help to me. I’m not sure how to repay you.” The bracelet upon her wrist was glowing red once again. But this time...her eyes were not affected.

Morgan smiled to Calista as she began to speak – the story of her first escape. She tilted her head as she told it – imagining it as it was told flawlessly. “See I told you – hardly royalty, even when young” she winked and shifted so that she sat next to the princess, her arm still on the other side of her, sort of leaning over her as she listened. Her raven dark hair lingered down and cast over the Princess’s chest as she hovered and listened.
“I snuck out, yes, all the time” she chuckled. The shut her eyes and thought for a long moment. It was so long ago, nearly 100 years… it was difficult to remember. “The first time...” she whispered. “I was I think 10...” she thought for a moment. “It was summer, and stood out on the balcony. I could see the large lake behind the castle… and the pasture before it. I watched an entire flock of 100 neon-butterflies, you know – the rare ones that glow in the dark? They fluttered across the lake. 100 looked like a thousand – sparkling over the lake’s surface. It was the most amazing thing I had ever seen… so I snuck out, I created a rope by tying a bunch of dresses together.. and climbed down.” she smiled then, the first real one in quite some time.
“I had grabbed a large jar, one that held a bunch of my marbles and whatever else I had then. I ran across the field as they fluttered to me – and I captured a few as they flew over me. The huge flock surrounded me and flew past me, a few landing on me.. it was truly the most amazing thing… When I got back to the castle – the guards caught me, of course. I was in royal trouble… but I did release the butterflies in our gardens and ever since then – we’ve always had a couple flying around every summer. They found their home and bred there every year… I never forgot that” she smiled then and leaned back slightly.
Just seconds later there as a knock – Azer’s voice calling out to her. Her brows pulled together and she peered to the Princess -who suddenly shifted. Her voice was firm and confident, and her posture had changed. Morgan tilted her head and glanced to the bracelet – which glowed brightly. She looked away and then smiled “But...” she whispered. “I was just getting to the good part...” she leaned forward then, close enough to feel Calista’s warmth. She looked the woman directly in her eyes, and then leaned forward and kissed her softly. With that – a bit of her magic interacted, putting Calista to sleep instantly…
She leaned back and stood.. “Azer” she called out through the door. “I cannot leave the Princess’s side, if the King wishes to speak to me – have him address the Queen...” she spoke.
“What?” Azer spoke.
“Just… trust me, okay?” she questioned. “Just do it”
“Alright then….” Azer stepped away then and made his way to the King and Queen.
Morgan glanced back to the Princess and crossed her arms… they had to figure this out for at least another day… she stepped over to the balcony and then whistled. Flying from the sky came a shadow Raven. It landed before her and she touched it with a single finger, upon its head.
The skies were dark and littered with stars, her vision could be seen looking over the side of a boat – outward to the sea. The vision turned and glanced at the sleeping ship – and footsteps were heard as it walked away towards the ship’s wheel. “I can feel your presence, my lady” a deep voice spoke, his callused fingers wrapped around the wheel and he looked out. “We will be there soon… not to worry” he smirked and the ship propelled forward…
Morgan watched the bird disappear into smoke and she turned, leaning against the railway as she watched Calista sleep...

Calista had gazed up to Morgan during the story with curious eyes. She’d never seen one of the magical glowing butterflies before. It sounded so mystical. She closed her eyes a moment imagining the flock, “That must have been incredible to see.” She smiled sweetly. She drew her brows together slightly every now and again as she listened to the story, such a sweet memory. Like her own it was a memory laced in the innocent naive nature of a child. “When we reach Oneus...you’ll have to show them to me.” The princess spoke softly. “I’ve only read of them in books. It is too cold in Runik for such a creature. We have snow on the peaks of the mountains year round here.” This was the moment that Azer’s voice filtered into the room.
The princess’ demeanor had changed completely. She tried to sit up, though Morgan’s arm was over her body, her two toned eyes gazed up at Morgan as she spoke. Her lips parted to speak just as Morgan kissed her. Her eyes closed and a deep breath sucked in through her nose as the magic filtered into her being. The princess collapsed back upon the pillow, her expression perfectly peaceful. The glow from the bracelet dissipated.
**
“What do you mean she did not come?” Warner questioned as he stood over the war table. “I’ve no word from Luna, I fear that they will be mounting an assault on Runik. I need to know where her reinforcements are.” He looked troubled as he stared down over the war table.
Azer cleared his throat slightly, “Father, Morgan stated that you must address the queen. I could not open the door to Calista’s chambers, I tried, but it was as if the knob on the door was stuck fast.”
The king lifted his gaze to his son and drew his brows together, “Did you hear your sister at all?” He questioned, only to receive a simple shake of Azer’s head as his son adverted his eyes. “Get the guards, get your sister.” Warner ordered, “I’ll not have Oneus appear to be an ally only to harm Calista.”
The door pushed open as the king spoke, the queen walked into the room, her expression solemn. She held a stack of books in her arms. “That won’t be necessary, Warner. Azer sit.” She spoke and nodded to her son as she stepped forward to the table.
“What?” Warner questioned his eyes locked on her.
“You both need to hear this. There is a war on the horizon and I fear that the Oneus Princess may be the only thing that can stop it. At least, I hope that she can.” Her voice was soft as she set the books down. “The prince of Luna placed a cursed bracelet upon Calista...” She drew her brows together as she took a seat and flipped through the pages, she passed the book to the king.
“That was destroyed...” Warner spoke, his voice shook slightly.
“So we thought. So the books say...” The queen sighed softly. “But Calista nearly killed Morgan and I...only to wake sobbing about the attack moments later….it is the same bracelet that brought the fall of Nym.”
The king sat back in his chair as he drew in a deep breath, “And what...does Morgan believe she can do?” He asked his voice worried.
“Once her knights arrive, we will know more. But for now, one of us has to be in the room with Calista. Morgan and I will take turns...I have cast the spell of protection upon Calista...she is bound to her room...I can only hope that it will hold long enough for us to fulfill the plan that Morgan has...her power is much greater than I ever imagined...she is much stronger than I could ever dream of becoming...” The queen spoke as her fingertips brushed along the words within the book.
**
Calista’s eyes fluttered open and she sat up slowly. She slipped her feet to the side of the bed and looked down to the bracelet upon her wrist. She drew in a shaken breath. It wasn’t a dream. “Alice?” She asked, her head felt as though it was in a fog. She stood and turned, her eyes fell upon Morgan. “Morgan.” She breathed, her heart was already racing within her chest. “What’s happening?” She questioned, her voice full of worry. The last thing she remembered was Morgan's story. It felt like a dream. Everything felt like a dream. Even the swell of her own magic felt unreal and so far away. The princess winced slightly as the bracelet tugged upon her power, preventing it from surging within her.

Morgan stood for quite some time before Calista woke once more. She turned her gaze to see the woman sit up slowly. She stepped over swiftly and sat down on the edge of the bed. “Hey” she smiled softly and reached forward and grasped her hand. She saw the bracelet squeeze down upon her – and she winced slightly, only to swiftly look away from it. “We stand at the brink of war with Luna” she spoke softly and squeezed her hand. “We’re waiting for my forces to show, they should be here in the morning… for now, it’s not safe...” she shook her head and cupped her cheek.
“How about another, hm?” she spoke and then climbed into the bed. She felt terrible – she couldn’t tell her what was happening, and could only enchant her to ease her confusion. The more she was confused and upset – the more her power swelled, responding to her emotions…
Morgan sat so her head was on the headrest, sitting upright and looking at Calista. “How about… tell me about..” she thought for a moment “A time you left the Kingdom, hm? Did you like what you saw?” she questioned softly.
After listening for a moment - She turned her eyes slightly as her ears picked up on the clicking of heels – the Queen approached. “Your mother comes” she smiled and then leaned forward and pecked the Princess on the cheek. She stood then and brushed herself off, waiting for the door to open.

Calista sat back down on the bed, her eyes blinked quickly. As Morgan grasped her hand her heart slowed and the pain from the bracelet faded away. “War...with Luna...” She shook her head slightly. “Luna has always been an ally to Runik. It is one of the oldest of Allies...” Her eyes gazed to Morgan as the woman cupped her cheek. Calista’s hand raised and was placed over Morgan’s hand as the enchanting aura of Morgan seeped into her mind once again. “It’s not safe...” She spoke, a soft smile curved up her lips and she nodded. “My father will keep us safe...your knights...they will keep us safe.”
Calista watched as Morgan climbed onto the bed her eyes followed her. “Another?” She had a bit of a playful smile then. “I suppose I could entertain you more while we wait.” She gave a gentle laugh. She moved and sat next to Morgan, “A time I left the kingdom?” She smirked and shook her head. “You just want to know all of my rebellious secrets hm?” Her arm was against Morgan, the contact of Morgan’s cool skin was soothing to her warmth. The princess gave a gentle smile, “It wasn’t long ago.” She spoke and glanced to her a long moment. “I wrote Alice a note, told her to tell my mother I wasn’t feeling well and that I would remain in my quarters for the day.” She let out a soft laugh. “Of course that didn’t go over very well.” She shrugged slightly, “But I tacked my horse up early in the morning before most anyone in the castle began to move. Just a few guards here and there. But I didn’t wear my usual dress, I blended right in. A tunic and pants, with a cape that I’d stolen from Azer. Perhaps they believed that I was in fact my brother upon that horse.”
Calista tilted her head slightly as she took in a deep breath. “Azer gets to leave the kingdom quite often. To meet with other kings. To settle deals for father. But I’m too precious I suppose. I understand it though. When I was younger I didn’t, but...Prince Tyler was so aggressive...I can understand why they wanted to protect me.” She gave a soft sigh then then looked to Morgan once again. “I digress.” She smirked slightly, her eyes alight with a happiness that she hadn’t really shown before. She drew in a breath, “I rode my horse down into the lower city and to the east. The plains...beautiful...the grassy knolls...” She sighed and let out a laugh. “The only flowers I had ever seen were within the castle gardens.” Her smile grew, “There are these flowers within the plains...they have a blue bloom, such large pedals...they seemed to glow in the early morning light. I was struck my the flowers.” She let out a soft chuckle. “To think, a flower gave me such awe.”
The princess shifted slightly and gazed into Morgan’s eyes. “I harvested a few and they are in the castle green house now. They only bloom once a year….the night I left the castle...it was as if it were fate for me to see those flowers. Our grounds keeper thinks that I am silly, but I take care of the flowers during the summer...so that I can see that one bloom before fall.” She let out a soft laugh. “I’m sure it is silly.” She moved and slipped from the bed. The princess walked across her room and into her bathroom before she came back with a vase that held a beautiful flower. “This bloom, has never fallen.” The flower glowed with magic. She set it on the side table and then moved to sit next to Morgan again. She let out a content sigh as she leaned slightly against Morgan. “There’s more to the story of course.” She smirked, “I rode to the town of Lyle, it isn’t far from Runik, it is within our kingdom, but it felt like a different world. The people were so kind. Most did not recognize me without my fine dresses and tiara.” She chuckled lightly. “I spent the day amongst the people. I had an ale in the tavern. I danced with the people around the fire.” She laughed lightly. “It wasn’t until well after sunset that the knights of Runik found me. My mother was cross with me when I returned home.” The princess laughed lightly. “I’ve had guards outside my room since that night. No more escaping to the wonders outside of the castle walls. It’s too dangerous.” She smirked and looked to Morgan then just as the clicks of her mother’s heels could be heard coming up the hallway.
Calista turned her eyes to the sound, she glanced back to Morgan as she spoke and then the quick kiss upon her cheek. The princess smiled, her cheeks flushed pink. She was fully enchanted by Morgan. She lifted her fingertips and touched the place that the peck had landed. Her hand fell away as the door pushed open.
The queen stepped into the room, she gave a soft smile as she walked over. She had a tray of food for the two to share. “Calista, you look lovely darling. Are you feeling any better?” She asked as she moved and set the tray upon the table near the balcony. “The chefs made your favorite dish this evening. To help lighten your spirits.” Murielle turned to her daughter then.
Calista grit her teeth slightly, the bracelet was glowing once again. Her eyes swirled with her magic. “Mother.” She spoke her voice pained. “I didn’t mean….I...”
The queen came and sat down on the edge of the bed. “Calista darling, I know, you were just confused. It’s quite alright.” She cupped her cheek. “Why don’t you eat dinner, hm?”
Calista leaned into her mother’s touch and closed her eyes. The bracelet began to glow red once again. “How special for the chef’s to have prepared my favorite for dinner.” She spoke as her eyes opened and gazed to her mother. “Where is father?” She asked her eyes focused on the queen.
“He is with your brother speaking to the guard. We must get everything in line for the war that is looming over our kingdom.” The queen glanced to Morgan, her eyes full of sadness. It pained her not to tell Calista everything. Not to be able to tell her that she would be okay. That they would save her and she would not have to suffer the same fate of Rykalis from so many centuries ago. “Why don’t you eat darling?” The queen stood and drew in a breath as she turned her back to Calista.
The princess stood, her eyes looked to the queen like that of an assassin. A bit of a smirk curved up her lips. Though she turned and stepped to the table by the balcony, her eyes gazed out over the kingdom as she crossed her arms over her chest slightly.
“Calista darling...” The queen watched her daughter, her eyes worried. “Are you alright?”
The princess turned, she clicked her tongue slightly and a laugh came over her lips. “Am I alright, mother?” She questioned. “I’m nothing more than a prisoner to you.” She stepped forward, her eyes dark. “Your guards cannot save Runik.” She held her hand up and a burst of power came from her palm directed toward Morgan. “And this witch.” She spoke with a hateful tone, “Enchanting me. Trying to make me forget.” She scoffed. “No. Runik will fall. Luna will destroy it.” She raised her hands.
“Calista no!” The queen begged as fire swelled in her daughter’s hands. “Don’t do this Calista.” The queen stood her ground. “This is not you. I know that it is not you.” Murielle stepped forward.
The princess’ eyes filled with the swirling fires of her magic as a laugh came from her chest. “Do you know that mother? Truly?” She threw a ball of fire forward.
The queen raised a shield of white magic and the fire soaked into it, singing her arm slightly. The queen groaned in pain. “Calista, please.” She begged. “I don’t want to hurt you.” She warned.
Calista stumbled slightly as she fought for control of her body. “Mother...” She whimpered softly, the flames died from her hands. “Please make it...stop...” She fell to her knees as the bracelet glowed more brightly. Fire swelled within her eyes once again, blood dripped to the floor from her nose.
The queen rushed forward and gripped onto her daughter’s shoulders. “Calista. Look at me. Breathe.” She winced as the princess gripped onto her shoulders with her fiery hands, burning her skin. “Breathe Calista. You have to focus. This isn’t you.”
The princess let out a groan as her eyes swirled with the white magic that tried to counteract the darkness that swelled within her body. A chuckle came from her chest. “I didn’t think you would willingly place yourself in harms way, my queen.” The voice was distorted now, her eyes glowed red. “Thank you for making this easy.” Calista stood quickly as flames flickered within her grasp, “It was too easy.” She spoke as she made to throw the ball of fire forward. The queen was kelt on the ground, she held her arms up, a whimper came over her lips.

Morgan listened to the sweet story – she watched as the Princess came back with a vase. In the vase was a beautiful flower – that seem to glow with life and magic. She reached her hand forward and her finger grazed the silky petal.. she smiled then “It is truly beautiful” she spoke softly and watched as Calista made her way back to the bed. “Dancing?” she smirked “One day I shall dance with you again” she smirked, remembering their first encounter – dancing at the ball. It had felt like so long ago. She closed her eyes briefly as she recalled it – their hands touching, their motions fluid like wind through the valley…
It was not long before the Queen had entered, Morgan bowed her head to her. Her cold hues watched how Calista was instantly different – struggling… she frowned at the confusion. At least the enchantment was tolerable, she could see Calista smile, where as this.. was not as much fun. She sucked in a breath and sat in the chair next to the bed, watching the two engage.
Though when Calista stood – her voice changing, she grit her teeth. Everything happened swiftly after this. The next she knew – Calista stood over the Queen. In an instant the fireball was thrown – the queen had vanished, appearing by the bed, while Morgan stood in her place. She had teleported the woman out of the way – to take the blow to the chest. Morgan’s dress singed, a round hole in the fabric, and it burnt away at her skin. She grit her teeth and lunged forward, both arms wrapping around the neck of Calista, she torqued down – pressing just perfectly that within seconds – Calista would fall limp in her arms, knocked out…
Morgan slowly lowered Calista to the ground and then fell back, her hand pressed over her charred skin over her chest, just between her breasts. She leaned back and groaned softly, her heart beat speeding up – a bit of lust forming. “I will see Julius…. Just… watch her” she spoke and then vanished.
She appeared next Julius’s chambers. She stumbled forward, hand gripping a table. Julius jumped and then his lips pressed into a thin line. “What happened?” he spoke softly as he walked over to a cabinet. He pulled out a red vial and stepped over. Morgan lunged forward and took the vial – she swiftly opened the cork and took a long swig. She leaned her head back, feeling the sweet blood pour down her throat and she sat down slowly.
“Nothing for you to worry about...” she spoke softly, and then glanced up. “We’ll keep this our secret hm?” she smiled – her fangs showing to him. Julius sucked in a breath and then lifted his own vial up – and drank it down.
“We shall...” he looked to her, and within an instant – Morgan had vanished.
She appeared once again in the bedroom and adjusted herself. “I suppose I’ll need a new dress” she spoke, though the scorch on her chest as gone, healed perfectly. “My Knights will be here tomorrow morning… I will need them to help me… she will need to stay asleep until then… Do you have any spell?” she questioned softly…

As the fireball was tossed forward into its target the princess smirked, a wicked grin that only those with a heart of pure evil could possess. Though the smile faded away as Morgan became visible. Calista had no time to react as Morgan’s arms wrapped around her neck. The glow of the bracelet faded away swiftly, leaving behind a frightened Calista. She struggled against the tight hold. “Mor...gan….” She cried through the chokehold. Tears began to stream down her cheeks. Though just moments later she became limp as a rag doll in the vampire’s arms.
The queen was on her feet, her eyes wide. “Morgan...” She spoke but the woman had vanished. She rushed forward to her daughter’s side and looked her over. Bruising already formed upon her neck from the tight hold and the bit of struggle that had happened. “This has to end...we will save you. I promise.” The queen carefully scooped her daughter up and moved her to the bed. She brushed through her hair gingerly and cupped her cheek.
It was then that Morgan returned, the queen’s eyes moved to her and to the healed skin of her chest. She drew in a long breath. “I’ll have it replaced for you, Morgan.” The queen spoke her voice soft as she tucked a lock of hair behind her daughter’s ear. “I may have a spell...but it is dangerous...such strong spells require something equally as strong to break the spell...” The queen stood, “Though I do not doubt your strength.” She gave a pained smile then, “I had my suspicions before, but I cast it aside.” She let out a soft laugh. “I am indeed in the presence of great power, you’re a vampire like Julius, but you’ve much more power than he does. He cannot use magic in the way that you can.” The queen looked back to her daughter. “I can only pray to the gods that what you plan for her will work...”
Murielle stood slowly from the bed, “The fear in her eyes as the bracelet released its hold...” She shook her head. “The bastard on the other side with the jewel didn’t want to experience failure, he didn’t want to feel your arms around his neck. So he let Calista feel it. She was so frightened….” The queen lowered her head slightly. “Give me a few minutes to gather the items that I will need. I will need to gather a few items from Julius for this to work.” The queen paused as she stood at the door. “Thank you Morgan.” She looked to her with sad eyes. “I could not bare to stop her...and you were able to do such with little damage. Thank you.” Murielle stepped from the room then.
**
It was several long minutes as the queen was away. Calista’s breath trembled within her chest. A bad dream perhaps? Her hands balled into fists and she let out a whimper. The door pushed open and the queen returned with an old book that looked as if it were going to fall apart, she had several vials of liquid as well that she held in a small basket. She looked to her daughter with furrowed brows. “She’s never been so troubled...” She whispered softly before she set the book down. She walked over to the dresser that held the tea kettle where she began mixing the liquids together. She was very precise, a few drops of this, a few of that. The queen knew exactly what she was doing.
By the time the queen was finished mixing the liquids Calista’s eyes had fluttered open. She winced as she felt the pain in her neck, her head throbbed. Murielle came to sit at her side with a mug of what looked to be tea. “Shhh just relax dear.” The queen helped her sit up. “Drink up.”
Calista took the mug into her hands shakily, tears rolled down her cheeks. “Mother...” She began to speak.
“It’s okay, just drink dear.” Murielle spoke, her eyes full of sadness. Lying to Calista was the worst thing she’d ever done. She couldn’t wait until this was over.
The princess lifted the mug to her lips and sipped upon the tea. With each sip her demeanor calmed. Her eyes became a bit glassy. “Mother when the snow thaws could I show Morgan the plains?” She asked with a soft smile upon her lips. “The moonflower.” She swayed slightly as the potion within the tea took hold of her.
“Yes, yes of course darling.” The queen kissed the side of her head. “All finished?” She took the empty mug from her. “How are you feeling?”
“Oh much better, thank you mother.” The princess spoke with a bit of a slur to her voice. “My head no longer throbs.” She had a sweet smile upon her lips.
“Good, good.” The queen helped her lay down. “Why don’t you rest hm? It’s beginning to get late.” The queen tucked her in gently.
“Rest sounds nice. I’m awfully tired.” Calista responded, her eyes were already beginning to tug closed.
“Of course dear, you’ve had a very eventful day, hm?” The queen opened the book to a marked page. She dipped her fingertip into a small vial of white powder that she’d brought with her. Her eyes began to glow as she spoke the enchantment. The queen traced beautiful inscriptions upon her daughter’s face. Old elvish. She whispered the words as Calista watched her, a soft smile upon the princess’ lips. Soon enough the princess’ eyes began to slip closed to the words of her mother’s enchantment. Her pulse slowed significantly, her breathing became deep and slow. Peaceful even. The queen placed a single kiss upon her daughter’s forehead and a wave of power washed through the room. Murielle watched as the inscriptions that she had carefully drawn began to glow a light blue for a moment before the glow dissipated only to leave the princess sleeping soundly. The queen looked to Morgan as she stood slowly, she grasped the book and closed it carefully. “She won’t wake.” She spoke, her voice trembled slightly. “But she’s safe now.” She swayed slightly herself, it was an incredibly strong enchantment. Her eyes were tired. The use of two strong spells in a single day had drained her. “I will return in the morning. Please. Stay with her. Call to the guards if you need anything...just...don’t leave her alone...” The queen spoke as she slipped from the room.

Morgan stood before the queen as she uttered the words - revealing that she knew, and of Julius too.. Morgan lifted her head and smiled weakly "This is the first time someone has found out, though... I haven't been too secret about it... thank you.. for understanding" she bowed her head. "It is difficult to live a lie..." she spoke softly and stepped over to the bedside where Calista rest. She cringed slightly to the bruising about her neck - the bruising she had caused. "Our magic and lineage is different than typical magic... my sire was that of an elder, I am very close to the source of darkness..." she spoke softly. "It took me over 50 years to hone in my abilities... but once done - there is much light in the dark, they play together so fondly..." she spoke softly and took in a breath. "There are... a few tricks up my sleeve, trust me... Calista will come out of this alive.. I promise you" she placed a hand upon the Queens shoulder, as they looked over the princess. "In the time I've been alive.. I almost lost my will to live - the purpose had been beaten by time... but for the first time, in a long time, I feel that purpose return to me..." she smiled She watched as the Queen left the room to gather the materials for the spell... and when she returned - she stood by the door. Watching the Queen mix up the liquids... as the Queen cast her spell - the room became full of her energy and power... she stepped back slightly as she could feel its light - its almost holy sting over her body... she lowered her gaze when it was over. As the Queen wavered - Morgan appeared next to her and placed a hand upon her back. "Steady" she whispered and helped her towards the door. "I will not leave her, I promise you" she bowed her head and turned as the door closed... Morgan sat in the plush red chair - her eyes watching the Princess as her chest rose.. and slowly fell. She slept - peacefully it seemed. She tilted her head, and as she sat - she felt the moon rise into the air, the stars glimmering in the distance. She tilted her head the opposite side - the rise... and slow fall of her bosom. Hands so neatly placed next to her... the Sun slowly crept from the depths, peaking over the mountains. Rays of orange, pink, red - flooding into the room. Morgan squinted slightly as the rays pierced her hues - but soon the pain faded... just like that - night had passed so quickly, to her it was a few minutes, for others - hours. At the dockside a large dark ship pulled in. It was very big - at the bow were two Gargoyles - pearched with their wings wide, statues to guide the ship forward. There were over 12 giant sails - of which a symbol sat in the middle. A very intricate circle, with a red V through the center. The Raven Knights, and the symbol it self would strike the world, their presence so subtle yet present... She could feel their presence - hear their slow heart beat, miles away at the port side. She stood at the balcony and looked out - she could see the ship in the distance, faint, but still there. Her ship, her Coven. She lifted her gaze and turned - with a whisper of her mind - Jesper sat from his bed. Her turned his hues to Julius - who had woken as well. "I can feel them" Julius muttered, holding a hand to his chest. Jesper swung his legs over the edge of the bed and stood - he was healed entirely, not a single ounce of pain. He lifted his arm, which had been broken - not even a scar... "Seems the Princess help you out.." Julius spoke as she stepped over to observe him. "I suppose so..." he smiled then and stepped behind a curtain to get dressed. He pulled a tunic, leather pants, boots, topping it off with a well made leather shoulder piece, bracers, and his sword at his side. "They are here" he spoke softly. He could hear his sister's whisper in the back of his mind... The Raven Knights await your guidance... bring them to me, my brother Jesper left Julius's room and made his way down the city gates, and to the port side. He arrived within an hour infront of the docks, looking to the ships. "I am sorry, you do not have an authorized pass" A man spoke before 12 beings - all wearing similiar armor of dark intricate design. Each had their preferred weapon, and each with their hood up - hiding their white pale faces... "Allow them entry" Jesper spoke and handed forth a letter. The man turned and took it - he tilted his head. "Very well, allow them to pass" Jesper nodded and the 12 followed behind him - in a quiet order. As they walked - people turned, watching them... there was a sort of ominous aura that followed them...

The night was uneventful. The princess was motionless, as if frozen in time. With the exception of the subtle slow rise and fall of her chest, not a sound came from Calista. As the early hours of the morning brought the light of day into the princess’ quarters a soft knock came from the door. The queen stepped into the room, it was evident by the exhaustion on her face that she hadn’t slept. She wore her night gown and robes, her hair was pulled up into a messy bun. This moment was not about presentation. She even lacked make-up upon her face. She held two small mugs in her hands. “Tea?” She spoke, her voice tired. She handed the mug to Morgan before she sat on the edge of the bed. She brushed her fingertips through her daughter’s hair. “The spell held.” She spoke with a weak smile. Calista looked as pristine as ever. The bracelet had not glowed once through the night. She was in such a deep sleep that it mimicked a coma. The queen looked to Morgan and drew in a breath. “Julius told me that your knights have arrived. I could see the ship from my quarters.” She gave a light nod. “I know that I did not get to speak to you much on the matter last night but, you do not have to fear your secret within Runik. I will keep you safe.” Murielle gazed into Morgan’s eyes. “I could not tell you if there is another soul that would be willing to perform any magic or ritual to save Calista. I know that even if you have not spoken it…this must be quite dangerous, to break a curse such as this will take great skill. I imagine in your years you possess such skill.” The queen took a long drink from her mug her two toned eyes fell upon Morgan for a long moment. “Julius and I go back quite a ways.” She gave a gentle smile. “You see I met him during the Lycan wars of Runik years ago. It was before I became queen. Before Warner even knew of my existence, I’m afraid. Julius saved my life, he was clawed through by a Lycan. He should have bled out. I pressed on his wound and pressed and pressed…only for him to ask a favor of me…he needed my blood to survive.” She tilted her head slightly, as if she were thinking of how to word her statement. Or perhaps she was uncomfortable speaking it. “I’m going to tell you something that not even my children know.” She held the mug within her two hands, the warm steam rose up toward her face, swirling about. She appeared so young for her age. “My ancestry is of the great dragon mages. You being the age that you are may have heard of them. Or perhaps they were from before your time.” She gave a gentle smile. “Though I have the magic coursing through my veins, Azer does not. The ancestry is very selective. Not all children born of a dragon mage lineage may have power. Some may have magic, but nothing as powerful as my elders.” The queen drew in a breath as she furrowed her brows, she took a drink of her tea. “There is something that I did not know of my blood. Lycans and vampires alike can take advantage of the magic that flows within me.” Her eyes focused upon Morgan. “When Julius took my blood that I offered him. He healed remarkably fast, he gained strength, speed…he was more powerful than he’d ever been.” The queen lowered her gaze to her tea cup, she’d nearly finished the drink. “I tell you this because I want to offer you help.” Murielle shifted slightly and pulled a small vial from the pocket of her robe. She held the vial forward, “This should aid you in your strength, it will heighten your magic.” She paused a moment, “I trust that you will keep this secret between us. If other vampires, or even Lycans were to learn of this trait, I fear that…” She glanced to Calista as a silence came over the room. “Her magic is much stronger than even my own. I cannot explain to you how our lineage works, the only word I have for it is luck of the draw.” She brought her eyes back to Morgan and finished her tea. “Calista’s powers are aligned with that of Rykalis…she is a long lost ancestor…” The queen bit her lip slightly. That meant that in Murielle’s line elves lived. But she did not carry the tipped ears of an elf. She looked entirely human, minus her slow aging. “To this date Rykalis was the strongest documented dragon mage. But…” She looked to Calista a moment and brushed her fingertips through her daughter’s chestnut locks. “The gods have spoken. They have chosen Calista for something that we do not yet understand…it is only by fate that your path has crossed hers.” She nodded as she looked back to Morgan, her hand held onto Calista’s limp hand, her thumb rubbed the back of her daughter’s hand gingerly. “I have no doubt that you will be able to save my daughter.” She spoke as she stood, she could hear the sounds of footsteps striking the ground. There was a knock at the door. The queen closed her eyes and spoke a few soft words of old tongue, breaking the enchantment that she had placed upon the room so that the Raven Knights and Jesper could enter. A gentle wave washed over the room as the spell fell. “Is there anything that I may gather you Morgan?” The queen questioned as she looked to the woman once again.

Morgan turned as the there was a knock on the door - she stepped from the balcony side and watched as the queen entered. She bowed to her presence and held a hand forward to the warm mug of tea. She took a long inhale and sipped slightly, she made her place back to her chair. To which she pulled a flask out and a red liquid dripped from its contents and sunk into the tea. She swirled the mug slightly and took another sip - a satisfying smile etched across her lips. She said nothing as the Queen spoke - telling the ancestry of her past - the power in her lineage. "The Dragon Mages... were just a faint whisper in my adolence" she spoke softly. "Their stories were the songs in the taverns, powerful mages and knights - weilding the word of the dragon, their life flowing through their fingers..." she smirked though as the tale of Julius came to be - she lifted her brows. "It is dangerous, m'lady, to drink blood so potent of magic.." she spoke softly and reached forward to the vial that was handed to her. "Within us there is a beast, locked away by our own will and strength. Imagine it... caged, with seals of magic holding it in..." she spoke softly. "The beast has amazing power, and is directly connected to magic - to the darkness - that it was born from.." she whispered and looked to the blood. It seem to have a sparkle in it - she lifted her gaze and then slipped it away. "My years of honing my magic have been soley - to tame the beast... a drop of such powerful blood..." she took in a breath. "I am honored.. for you to offer it. Using your gift will make this... easier, for certain..." she sucked in a breath. "Thank you... mlady" she bowed her head, just as a knock came from the door. "Ah.." she smirked, she stepped to the door - the wave of magic still lingering in the air. She gave her brother a hug. "I am happy to see you awake.." she smiled to him. "Here you are - stealing all the glory" Jesper chuckled and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Your Knights have Arrived" he held his arm forward to the crowd - who each bowed their head in unison. "I see" she smiled and then glanced to Julius. "I will need Black Ash mixture made - could you gather this?" she questioned to the old man. Julius lifted his head and then nodded - walking away moments later. "We shall not waste any more time.. My Queen - please watch over the Princess, I will need to prepare for the ritual..." she spoke and then left the room. She made her way to the throne room - which she ordered the guards to leave, and to clear. She needed a large space ... she rolled up the red carpet rug and pushed it to the edge of the room. Not much longer - Julius came to her with a bucket of black paste, and a large paint brush, he knew what she needed... For the next hour - Morgan painted the tiled floor of the throne room, line by line - it had to be perfectly semetrical, even, and straight. Thick black lines on the floor - soon enough she had a beautiful 12 point star, with intricate geometric patterns in the center. Along each important line were small dots outlining it... Finally she came to the middle where she pulled a dagger out. She slit it across her hand - allowing several drops of blood hit the center. Each Raven Knight followed suit - until the entire central star was covered in a thin layer of blood... "Retrieve the Princess.. and bring the others" she spoke softly. She stood now in the center, she wore just a pair of leather pants and a tunic - her feet bare, the blood smeared on the bottom of her feet... Her black hair was pulled up into a messy bun, out of her pale face.. Soon Jesper stepped into the room - the Princess in his arms. He walked to the edge of the star and a Raven Knight then took her - slowly placing the Princess infront of Morgan, in the center of the star. The neach Raven Knight took a point on the outer star, standing perfectly still. "My Queen - seal the throne room... no one leaves, or enters.." she spoke and waved her hand. She looked to Julius - and then to Jesper... She pulled out the small vial of blood from her pocket and popped the cork - and chugged it swiftly. In and instant her head flung backwards, her entire body radiating with extreme power. Her eyes grew instantly dark. She stood - for a very long moment. Her arms shook, her veins and muscles taught as she fought something - in reality, the beast within. To take control of it. Finally she released a breath - a slight grunt... she turned to the Princess and slowly laid down next to her. She took the woman's hand in her own... Within moments the room grew very cold. The Raven Knights held one hand forward - from each of their hands a black and purple silky power came from their palms - flowing to the two, until they were entirely covered by the colors that swirled around them. Then suddenly there was a burst of power. The blood that they lay on - lifted into the air, little droplets of red moving slowly, as if in space. They then rushed forward, pelting both of the bodies which were covered in the slow moving mass of power. The colors of black, purple blue then became hinted with red as it swirled in, like cream to a coffee. From Morgan's body something suddenly lifted from her body. It had the face and torso of Morgan, but the lower half was all a whispy blackness, her dark soul - shifting out of her body. Next to her - rose a glimmering white soul, one could hardly make out the details of it, it was beautiful... and holy. In that moment - Darkness and Light stared to each other. The aura of the heavens filled the room, and at the same time - darkness of the depths of the abyss. Like the feeling of a warm tide against a cold spring, touching the bodie's senses. The two souls circled each other - and then suddenly, pierced their opposing bodies. Morgan's soul entered Calista's body, and Calista's soul entered Morgans. The spirit realms, earthly realms, magic realms - all crossing each other in that moment, doing what would be thought as the impossib.e As Morgan's soul entered Calista - the ritual still continued. The Raven Knights channeling their magic even more so now. The bracelet upon Calista's arm suddenly glowed brightly - but not red - it was black, and pulsing. Morgan drew on the bracelet's power... Far away - in the land of Luna, there came a screech. In the castle - the King sat with a glowing polished stone in his hand. He grinned as he felt the power - as if he was tapping into Calista. Suddenly... the light glowing stone turned dark black, a thick smoke churning in the colors of the stone. From the stone - the Banshee emit. The scream grew even louder - Morgan stared to the King of Luna, the whispy darkness filling the room. She reached forward with a single hand and gripped the air- the King's throat suddenly collapsed inward and snapped right in half... and then with a final shout - piercing the ears of the entire Kingdom - the Gem shattered into a million pieces around the dead king, he slumped in this throne...lifeless. With the Gem shattered - the bracelet released its tension on Calista's arm, becoming a loose and dull bangle now, easy to remove... However, the ritual was not over. The dangerous part would now begin, the part that would take time. A vision appeared - Morgan stood in the center of a very bright room. That room being the core of Calista... she knew her own body well, pulling her own soul from it - was an easy task. Now.. she was in a strangers body, who she was not attuned to. She did not know the inner workings of her - Morgan would need to navigate the realms of spirit, earthen, and Calista's 'realm' persay, all at the same time. She stood in the center of the room and a single door appeared.. she slowly stepped forward and opened it, appearing in another... Morgan stood - this room now was Darker, but several torches line the walls, a mixture of light and darkness.. in the center of this room stood Calista. She rushed forward "Calista" she spoke and grasped her hand. "Do not fret.." she spoke and cupped her cheek. "We are in between realms... listen to me" she spoke quickly. "What may come next will be confusing... but we must make it back to our own bodies.. we must escape each other's. I am inside you, and you within me - we must find our way out, to return to our own. Otherwise..." she shook her head and smiled. "No need to fret of the otherwise" she smiled and held her hand - a new door approached. "Together" she spoke and nodded.

The queen stood with her eyes to the hallway. The Raven Knights held the presence of even more power than she had heard in the whisperings of rumors. Murielle simply gave a nod to Morgan, “Of course.” She replied as she moved and sat on the edge of the bed. She gazed over Calista and let out a long breath, “Soon, my darling girl.” She brushed her fingertips through her daughter’s hair. There was a light knock at the door and the king stepped into the room. The queen lifted her eyes to her husband and she gave a soft, sad smile. “How…is she?” He asked, almost afraid of the answer. The king stepped to his wife’s side and drew in a breath as he looked over Calista. “She looks so calm.” He gave a soft smile as he placed his hand on Murielle’s shoulder. Murielle looked up to her husband and forced another smile. “I hope that she is.” She whispered softly. “I wouldn’t want to think that she is in any other condition…I…only hope that she can come out of this.” The king gave a slow nod, “She will my dear.” He hugged Murielle from the side gently with one arm. “She has pulled through worse, remember?”
The queen bit her lip slightly, “I would rather not remember...” She whispered softly. “I do not know if I would call that worse than this curse. If Morgan cannot save her, she will have to remain in this state...or perish by an enchanted blade...” Tears welled in her eyes.
The king gave a kiss to the side of her head. “You told me yourself that you believe in the Oneus princess and her abilities. So believe, Murielle.” He spoke as he nodded his head.
**
Time passed slowly for the queen. The hour felt like an eternity as she sat alone with her daughter in her chambers. When Jesper came to retrieve her the queen stood, her eyes looked to the Prince of Oneus. She did not speak as she followed him. Her eyes only looked to the rag doll body of her daughter as she was carried down the halls of the castle. Soon enough they were led into the throne room where she peered upon the dark magic inscriptions upon the floor. She stood at the door as it closed heavily behind her, frozen. She watched as her daughter was placed in the middle of the sigil, laying within the pool of blood. “Of course.” She spoke as she touched the door handle, an enchantment breathed passed her lips and the doors became sealed with her magic. No one would leave unless the queen unlocked the doorway. She stepped forward slowly as she watched Morgan drink down her blood. She could see the change in the woman. She could feel the darkness swell within the room. It sent a chill down her spine. She made to step forward only for Jesper to place a hand upon her shoulder and offer a gentle nod, reassuring the queen that her daughter was in good hands. The room was silent, like that of a battlefield as the last soldier is struck down. She watched in awe as the magic began to happen, the colors that swirled around Morgan and Calista, it was beautiful in a way. As the blood lifted into the air like simple droplets she held her breath, her hands clasped before her, her eyes filled with worry.
The queen’s brows tugged together as she let out a shaken breath, the spirits lifted from the bodies of the two. “Calista...” She breathed, tears welled in her eyes. This magic was true darkness. It was something that she had never witnessed before. It was a magic that she was purely incapable of. The queen held her breath, she fought the urge to rush forward to her daughter’s side. She watched in awe as the bracelet’s spell was broken in such an incredible fashion...
**
Calista sat up suddenly, air gasped into her chest. She sat within a room of darkness. A void of shadows. It was cold. Colder than anything she’d ever felt. She slowly stood as her breath began to quake. She lifted her hands to her neck. The last thing that she remembered was Morgan choking her, the look in Morgan’s eyes, such anger...that it seemed to consume her. Calista swallowed as her body shivered, she hugged her arms to her body. Something was different. A weight had been lifted. She looked down to her hands and then to her wrist. A red mark remained from the bracelet...but the bracelet had disappeared. She touched the skin and took in a shaken breath. Suddenly the sound of a door creaking open filled her ears. Calista lifted her eyes and squinted in the darkness to bring the sound into focus. “H-hello?” She asked, her voice full of fear.
The princess stepped forward gingerly, her heels clicked upon each step, echoing in the void of darkness. She looked down to her body, she wore a beautiful white dress, much like that you would imagine an archangel to wear. “Mother?” She asked as she came to the old door. She reached her hand forward and grasped the cold door handle. A flash of Morgan choking her flashed before her eyes again and she let out a cry. She could feel the pain still. She had jumped back slightly, her breathing increased. She squeezed her eyes shut, “No...it was a dream...” She whispered to herself. It’s...it’s just a dream…” She pulled the door open and walked forward.
She came into a room that swirled with darkness and light, as if the shadows were fighting against the light for control. She shivered once again as shadows seemed to curl around her and sway with her each and every step. The princess made her way to a streetlight, the torch within it burned with a flickering white flame. She watched as the shadows danced within the lantern. Fear gripped her. Was she dead? Was this the afterlife? What was this place? The questions poured through her mind as tears swelled in her eyes, her breathing quaked and she fought to hold back her emotions. Though suddenly she heard a familiar voice. Morgan. At first she gasped as Morgan rushed for her, the memory of Morgan choking her appearing in her eyes once again. “M-Morgan.” She choked out and gazed to their hands. Morgan was warm. She’d never been warm before. Calista shivered as she looked to the woman whom told her not to worry. She drew her brows together as she tried to focus, tried to listen.
“In between realms...” She repeated, her jaw loose as she looked to the new door that opened. “What...what happens if we cannot find our way out?” She asked, her grip upon Morgan’s warm hand tightened as she shivered again. Her soul did not take well to the cold of Morgan’s body. She looked ahead once more and swallowed back her fear before she stepped through the crimson door.
The world around them faded into the ballroom of the castle. Calista glanced about, she looked down to her body she wore a bright red dress. It was the festival of the hunt. A yearly celebration of Runik that happened just before spring. It was tradition for the princess to wear red to celebrate the end of the harsh winter.
“Might I have this dance, my lady?” A man stood before her, he bowed deeply.
“I...um...” Calista stuttered.
“My lady are you alright?” He still held his hand forward to her. “You must dance.” He spoke and gave a nod. His eyes completely ignored Morgan’s presence. Morgan did not exist in this memory.
Calista remembered the night well. She had been sixteen or so. She stared to the handsome young man, her jaw loose. He reached forward and took her hand into his before he towed her forward. Her grip instantly fell through Morgan’s hand. “Morgan.” She spoke with a shaken breath.
“Ah yes, there we are.” The man spoke as he began dancing with her. All eyes were on the two. The crowd cheered. Calista could not stop. She was compelled to play into the memory. He dipped her low toward the floor and grinned as he tilted his head. “My what a lovely queen you’ll make one day.” He spoke as he pulled her in close. It was uncomfortable. She knew exactly what was coming. The princess winced just before the window broke. The man flinched slightly to her reaction. Though that was not enough to derail the memory. An arrow pierced into the man’s back.
Calista trembled as she stood with him, his body instantly fell limp in her arms as the crowd gasped. The princess shifted, just as she had in her memory, just in time. An arrow lodged into her side, if she hadn’t moved it would have been her heart. She fell to her knees as the fire of pain raced through her body. An assassin had decided to bring Runik to its knees by attacking the princess. He knew exactly how much the queen loved her daughter. How much despair the people would feel at the loss. The princess collapsed to her side as blood pooled upon the floor. Azer was the first to her side. “Guards! Help! Get Julius!!!” His voice was loud as he yelled. A shield was held over his back by the knights. Other knights were busy apprehending the assassin. The man would never be caught.
“Azer...” She whimpered softly. “Azer...” Her voice was weak.
“Shhhh don’t speak.” Her brother wiped blood from her lips. “Don’t speak dear sister.” He scooped her into his arms and ran from the ballroom with her.
As they reached the door Calista fell to her feet, her hand once again grasped upon Morgan’s hand. She took in quick breaths as she held a hand to her chest. “M-Morgan...” She winced, she could feel the arrow. Though slowly the pain disappeared. Calista was trembling, her skin was ice cold. “I...don’t know if I can do this...whatever this is...this must be a dream...this isn’t real...it’s a nightmare...just...just like you choking me...it’s a nightmare...this isn’t real...” Her words shook as tears rolled over her cheeks.

As the world changed - she bit her lip, watching then as she became invisible to the world. Though her eyes spelled upon the several people - dancing and moving. This scene was focused on one though, and the Princess in his hands, against her will. She moved forward to grasp Calista but could not seem to grip onto a thing, her body sifting through the space as if no one where around. She gasped as a body moved through hers - like a ghost...
She watched helplessly - the arrow that seem to cut through the room and pierce the princess. Morgan gasped as the woman hit the ground - her blood as potent as ever. It was like a dream and reality - all at the same time. She shifted forward - but then the world changed once more. Morgan's hands upon the real Calista, her eyes frantically searching Calista's.
"I do not know... what is happening" she whispered. "But we must - stand strong" she spoke with uncertaintly. There was a light in the darkness then - it shifted forward and then suddenly it grasped Morgan. The world changed in an instant as Morgan was thrown against a wall.
The world changed - they stood in the castle walls of Oneus. Knights stood about the room - their armor was that of olden times, what would be on display now... Giant suits of metal. They were behind held back by several dark figures. The one who lifted Morgan - he peered to her with dark eyes. He was young, with neatly combed hair, his attire was regal... he grinned then as two fangs appeared.
Morgan grasped his hand and she shook her head. "No- " she fought against him but her strength was not there. She could not teleport, she could not move. "no" she whispered as the man laughed then.
"But you know it so" he spoke and leaned in. "Not even death can save you" he spoke softly. "Consider your payment...fulfilled" he leaned in then and bit into her neck. Blood leaked down his chin, dripping to the floor. He drew on her for several long seconds - until she hadn't a drop left in her body. He then let her go and watched as Morgan crumbled to the ground. His lips stained - he grinned as he peered to her. "Rise my child" he laughed then.
Morgan's skin was dreadfully pale - her eyes pitch black, she sat on her knees - looking upward to the vampire. Black lines formed from her eyes - and slowly etched across her entire body. Just as this was happening - the doors to the throne room were thrown open. "No!" The King stepped forward. He wore a beautiful crown, his red cape flowing behind him as she rushed forward.
Her sire turned and looked to the King - without even moving - a wing appeared from his back and stabbed the King directly in the chest, lifting his body into the air with easy. The vampire scoffed and threw the King back and then grasped Morgan by the collar. "Come on then" he spoke and disappeared into black smoke.
Morgan gasped as she appeared once more in the chambers of their souls - her body shook as the memory was so vivid - she grit her teeth, her fangs showing now. "We have to- push forward" she spoke. The room was different this time, there was more light than dark. She grasped Calista's hands and breathed heavily - the memory having taken its toll on her...

“Morgan...I..I don’t know if I can...” Calista muttered as tears rolled down her cheeks. That day had been one of the most tragic days in the kingdom. Calista nearly lost her life. It took time for her to recover and from that day forward the king and queen had protected her with much more vigilance. As the princess looked to Morgan the darkness crept into the room. “Morgan...we have to stop it...” She breathed just as Morgan was ripped from her grasp. “Morgan!” She cried and shifted forward. Shadows engulfed her and held her in place. She struggled against the tight hold unable to break it. Her eyes glowed as her magic swelled within her, but nothing seemed to be able to break the vice like hold of the dark magic. “Stop!!” Calista cried, but it was as if she did not exist.
The horrific scene played out before her. The vampire bit into Morgan’s neck. The princess fought against the hold of the shadows, “Stop! Let her go!” She cried. Though all too quickly the pale appearance of what Morgan was now became a reality as the blood was drained from her veins. Her skin became ghostly pale, her eyes pitch black. Calista watched as she took in shaken breaths, there was nothing she could do in this world. It felt so real. She could feel everything, see everything. Then as the king entered the room she watched as the vampire easily stabbed him with a magical wing that appeared from his back. The princess shuddered as she watched the blood pour from the wound.
As the world disappeared she once again felt the warmth of Morgan’s hand in her own icy hand. Calista shook as she stared to Morgan. The fangs that showed, she could see the pain in the woman’s eyes from the memory. “Morgan...” Calista spoke, “How….horrible...” She didn’t know what to say. She stepped forward and pulled Morgan into an embrace. “This place...is horrible...” She breathed cold air as she shivered. Calista closed her eyes as she held onto Morgan. Though as she did this the world around them began to change. It began to melt away and soon enough they stood within the castle gardens. Calista felt the warmth of Morgan in her arms fade away and she found herself in the arms of her father. He held her up in his arms, cradling her in a way.
The princess tried to move, but she found she did not have the strength. “Here we are.” The king spoke as he gently set her down in the hammock within the gardens. The king brushed her hair from her face. “It’s a beautiful day, Calista.” He spoke and kissed her forehead.
This was the time after her injury. She couldn’t remember most of it. Calista tried to move but her body filled with pain, like the fires of hades. The arrow hadn’t just been a plain arrow...no...it had a poison upon it that even Julius had trouble breaking. It nearly paralyzed her. Her breaths were shallow and sounded difficult as she wheezed slightly. “F-father...” She fought to speak. “I...can’t...”
“Shhh.” The king knelt at the side of the hammock. “Perhaps the sun will make you feel better? Hm? Don’t speak darling.” He looked to the beautiful sky. “The sky is blue, the birds are chirping...we...” He drew in a long breath. “We will beat this, Calista...I will not let this illness take you away from us.” He kissed her forehead then.
Calista’s eyes fluttered as she fought against her body that willed her to sleep. “No...” She groaned. “No...” She fought against it. She remembered this now. This was when she had truly begun to spiral down. Her body truly began to shut down on her. She was moments away from being lost. Blood began to leak from her nose, she began to cough as her lungs felt as though they filled with fluid.
The king looked to his daughter with worried eyes. “No...no….Calista...” He scooped her up quickly and rushed her through the beautiful gardens.
Calista fought against it, she coughed as he carried her, she held a white cloth in her hand that was speckled with blood now. Her vision began to fade away until she stood once again in the room that was mixed in dark and light. The shadows seemed to creep in from the edges of the room. Calista grit her teeth, she could feel that pain again. That horrible pain. She’d nearly pushed the memory from her mind. “Morgan...” She looked to the vampire that stood before her. Her body shivered, her soul did not agree well with being within the body of the vampire. “How do we escape this? I do not wish to continue this torture...” She breathed and shook her head. “I do not wish to see you in pain...” She’d gripped onto both of Morgan’s hands her eyes gazed deeply into Morgan’s. “It all...feels so real...” She whispered softly. “Memories that I’ve fought to forget...suddenly are once again so strong...as if I am reliving it once again...”
