Asgrid pulled on the row as they made it out to sea - soon enough the wind picked up and the sail was taught. The crew was able to pause rowing and relax. Her hues peered over to Revna as the story was told.. she imagined the great war, her father - she knew this was the man. The one she had prepared for Valhalla. She shut her eyes briefly as the wind passed over her hair, pushing it to one side. The boat bobbed across the waves and she looked outward...
"He drinks with Odin now" Asgrid spoke and smiled as the story had ended. Before she knew it - they arrived at the portside. There were several docks that reached out to the sea. She glanced upward to the huge mountain side that seem to drop directly into the ocean. A path of rocky steps lead from the dock up to the village. Right on the edge of the cliff side was the long house, with a deck that peered out to the ocean side. She watched the sun drift over the mountain as it came close to the evening.
The crew tied the ship off and began to unload it. Asgrid stood and helped gather supplies to the wooden platform off to the left of the stairs. They unloaded crates, sacks and the like onto it. One of the crew members blew a light horn and then several men up top began to crank, slowly raising the platform of all the goods upward.
"Come on" Asgrid spoke to Revna and lead her to the climb. "Its a good work around" she grinned and gripped her shield and slung it onto her back. They made their way up the long stairs, taking their time as they did. As they climbed higher - she could feel it get a little colder, bit by bit. Soon they came to the top. The city was bustling. There was a round pool in the center of the village, where the water traveled through, and then off the mountain side into the ocean. "This way, we'll drop things off and then you will meet the Jarl" she spoke and lead her past several homes. They made it to the far right side of the city.
They climbed up a few more steps to a slightly higher tier. They approached a small portion of the town on this layer, a bonfire was lit in the center, with several buildings surrounded it. It had a blacksmith, a medium sized Thrall home, and then a medium sized home. "Well.." she glanced to the blacksmith. "Jorn!" She called out.
A man stepped from the building. "Ah, Asgrid you have returned" he smiled. He had black soot across his forehead, his hammer still in his gloved hand. "And you must be Revna" he nodded his head. "Welcome to our little coven" he smirked.
"This is Blacksmith Jorn Ode, he will manage the thralls - we have 10 miners and 2 black smith assistants. He usually handles it all well... Jorn - Ysara has appointed Revna as head of Stormcloak, you now report to her" she spoke with a soft voice.
Jorn looked to her, and then to Revna. He was speechless for a long moment. "On whos accord?" he questioned and set his hammer down on a barrel near by.
"Ysera" Asgrid spoke and then cleared her throat. "It is already done so.. we will honor it"
"I see.. well.. Revna, I am at your service. I manage well, we make quite a lot of money - roughly 200 gold a month, if trade is good" he nodded.
"Out of the 200, roughly 100 is spent in food, the other I pay Jorn 40, Jarl gets 20 gold, leaving myself 40 gold left. Which has been sufficient" she spoke and crossed her arms. "If you want to change that, just let me know - I can continue to manage the gold. For now, since I serve you, I will offer you 30 gold of my plunder" she sucked in a breath. "But generally, we pool it all together, my blacksmith and thralls come first. But of course, if you decide otherwise - let us know. We will be at your bidding" she spoke and then nodded.
"Right, well, A pleasure, Revna" Jorn bowed his head and stepped back to his smithy.
From behind - a large man approached. He was older, with a grey braided beared, and a shaved head. He had tattoos across his arms and head - tattoos of battle and victory. "Asgrid!" he called out, smiling wildly.
"Bolvig!" She stepped forward and gave him a healthy hug. "I've come with a friend - Revna" she held her hand outward to her. "This is Bolvig The Giant" she chuckled "He is a legend" she pat his back.
Bolvig grinned "In my past, yes, now just a trainer" he held his hand out. "You are the wolf-blessed, aren't you?" he bowed his head. "It is an honor" he smirked.
"Come, let me show you the house" She lead the two into the home. As they entered it was a square room with a brazier in the center, several chairs around it. It had a few bookshelves, a desk. There were 2 doors in the back on each side. "Left room is the master bedroom, which will be yours" she lead her forward. "I'll need to clean it out a little, my father's things still remain" she spoke and stepped inside. It was already tidy and clean. A kept bed, a wardrobe, desk. There was a axe and shield on the wall, a helmet with antlers on it - her fathers, a few pieces of armor. "I'll tend to it later, if you do not mind.." she spoke and nodded. "Your room, and mine is on the opposite side" she spoke and crossed her arms.
"We have one smaller storage shack for our grain, food and trade - it is next to the thrall house. Otherwise, that is it. Stormcloak holds this village by the balls - as we make the weapons and armor for majority. So.. at least there is that.." she spoke and nodded. "We should see the Jarl"
"Yes, he will be pleased to see everyone has made it home safely... Come" Bolvig lead the group forward through the home and lead the two down the steps, through the center of the village and to the long house...
