Lyrei gave a nod a bit of a smirk, “I…suppose you a right. I had not thought of it that way.” She seemed to ponder for a moment. “Her and I are both queens I do suppose.” She nodded and watched as Ellie took the plates away. Something that the princess had not thought of. She was so used to the servants that she forgot to grab the plates. She turned and walked down the hallway with Ellie. “Enri is a notable fighter, from what I have been told. All that I know is the tournaments, she always seems to win even against the worst odds. It is quite astonishing.” She smiled brightly to the thought of it. “Though I think many of the men underestimate her. You would think that they would learn after getting beaten so many times.” A laugh came from the princess then as they stepped outside. She too looked to the beautiful purplish hue of the sky. “Ah, it’s lovely out.” She spoke, the air was just warm enough with a bit of a chill behind it. Signaling that winter would be soon to come. The princess’ hues fell upon the two knights that were sparring, curiosity in her eyes.
Enri grinned as she looked to Ellie. She nodded back, “Ellie.” She spoke as she leaned her polearm against the wall and removed her shield from her back. She lifted on of the training swords and balanced it in her own hands, a smirk upon her lips. A few of the new recruits had gathered in the excitement. They had heard that Ellie was a Rauka and were looking to see if Enri could best her. “Hm.” Enri replied, a smile upon her lips. “Just a simple spar at first, to get you warmed up.” Her eyes were trained on Ellie from beneath her helmet. She was full of a bit of nervousness that she hadn’t felt in a long time. Excitement really. Ellie had been one of the few to challenge her in her youth. A smirk pulled at the corners of her lips as she positioned herself.
She too studied Ellie, her stance, the way she held the blade. Her breathing even. The lieutenant watched as Ellie nodded and then she gave her own nod. She heard the word to begin from Yavon and no sooner had the word came from his mouth than Enri pushed forward. Her strikes were precise and held a great amount of power behind them. She grinned in a playful manner as her attacks were blocked. She danced around, nimble on her feet. She moved quick for the amount of armor that she wore, though her armor was a special elvish metal. Quite expensive, but it was much lighter than it appeared. She swung her sword in a flourish and a chuckle came over her lips as she jumped back swiftly with a block. “You’ve improved quite a bit.” She commented her emerald hues gazed to Ellie from within her helmet.
The princess meanwhile watched with slightly widened eyes to the quick movements of the two. This was the closest she had ever been to a sparring match. Her jaw loosened as she tried to keep up with the intricate movements, her brows furrowed slightly. She had no idea who was winning or who was losing. The clanking of the swords seemed to fill the courtyard as the sun dipped deeper into the horizon.

Ellie watched with anticipation - Enri burst forward with energy. She made a swooping motion with her leg - much like a monk might, she ducked low and her body moved with the motion. She was fluid and swift - but yet effortless. She held her stance and watched for the next attack - parrying with the same ease. Ellie only made these graceful moves when necessary - otherwise she was simply taking a step back, or to the side. She kept Enri moving - she allowed Enri to push her back for a while, though easily side stepping the motions.
Ellie parried the blows - though when the flurry came forward to her, she blocked several, with a twist of her wrist - she slapped the blade on Enri's forearm, sending her hand back in the middle of the flurry. Ellie quickly advanced then - pushing the offensive. She slashed forward, her footsteps pushing Enri further and further to the other corner of the sparring tile. She faked a slash forward and kicked forward with sudden power, sending Enri sliding back.
Ellie stepped back, lowering her blade as she allowed the fight to go back to the center of the tile. She lifted her gaze and smirked "Hmph" she spoke and held her blade up once more, a signal to continue the fight. If that was a round - Ellie would have won, perhaps. Though, she knew it would only cause Enri to come with more blaze.
She circled around Enri swiftly, in a sweeping motion - she went to attack Enri's back, but was suddenly sent back with a powerful slash, though Ellie parried it - she was thrown back with its strength. Ellie tumbled to the ground but quickly rolled back up to her feet. She chuckled and held her blade up once more "Come on then" she called out.

Enri was caught off guard by the kick from Ellie, as she stumbled back her eyes had widened slightly. She came back to the center of the sparring area her eyes focused on her opponent. The princes had gasped to the powerful blows that the two were dealing back and forth with one another. Enri allowed Ellie to circle her, she was barely breathing any faster than before the sparing match had begun. With the swift motion she had spun and her blade had contacted Ellie’s. She grinned as she watched her tumble to the ground. “Warmed up are you?” She questioned as a chuckle came over her lips. “Alright, Ellie.”
The lieutenant moved with more speed now. Her blade moved through the air effortlessly. She grinned as they sparred. She put more power behind her blows. “I won’t allow you to win.” She spoke as she held their blades between them, her face close to Ellie’s. “At least, I won’t be giving it to you.” She chuckled playfully. It was evident that she was enjoying this match quite a bit. With that Enri slipped to the side and brought her elbow against Ellie’s back. Her foot swept forward to trip Ellie, but the woman was faster than she’d imagined her to be. Enri spun around, her blade striking against Ellie’s once again with a loud clank.
Enri pushed forward more and more, she didn’t let up on Ellie now. She was going easy on her before. She swung at Ellie’s side and then in a fluid motion she brought her leg forward to the side that Ellie would need to dodge to. The lieutenant brought her leg into the back of Ellie’s legs, knocking her feet out from under her. She grinned as she held her sword pointed down toward Ellie a moment before she stepped back to the center of the sparring area. Several more knights had gathered to watch the sparring match now.
Lyrei had covered her eyes as Enri knocked Ellie to her back. She winced slightly and her eyes glowed white for a brief moment as her magic reacted to her emotions. “Are you alright princess?” A voice asked, one of the knights.
Lyrei glanced to him a brief moment before the swords had clanked together once again. “Mhm yes. Yes I’m quite alright.” She winced again as another blow was dealt.

Ellie glared to Enri as their blades met - their faces upon each other. Ellie simply laughed and leaped backwards to lunge back forward. Enri came to her with a speed she had not seen from her - her was not expecting this. She twisted siftly, dodging an attach only to be knocked in the back. She placed a leg forward and easily back sprung with a single hand - dodging the sweeping attack of Enri's leg. She lifted the blade and slashed forward - finding another parry, Ellie let out a chuckle of surprise.
The chuckle taunted Enri and she blazed forward even more. She lifted her gaze and allowed it - wanting to see what Enri might do. She dodged a flurry but was tripped by Enri's well placed foot. She hit the ground and grinned as the blunted tip touched her neck. She watched Enri walk back to the center, round two victory made...
Ellie stood and was grinned wildly. She gripped her blade then - but this time with a single hand. Her other hand was free - relaxed infront of her as she held the blade behind her, her left shoulder pointed forward. A different stanced than before... Ellie nodded and then rushed forward, her shoulder pointed forward. As Ellie allowed her shoulder to appear exposured, she twisted suddenly, and slammed the blade into Enri's rib cage, she then quickly changed the other direction and gripped the arm of Enri. She pulled with strength and ripped the arm from her blade. With the motion she lifted Enri up onto her shoulder and slammed her down onto the ground - her blade touching Enri's neck then. She smirked and stepped back.
"A final round?" She questioned and held her blade up. "Give me everything you have Enri" she held the blade forward once more, a traditional stance.

Enri grinned as she watched Ellie get to her feet. Though, Ellie stood in a different stance. One that the lieutenant was not adept with fighting. She held her blade and drew her brows together as she tried to gauge the attack. As she swung to attack Ellie’s open side she felt the impact of the blade against her defenseless ribcage. Before Enri could even react her arm was gripped by Ellie and pulled off balance. Her eyes were wide as she tried to regain control of the situation. Then she was flipped and slammed onto her back on the ground. The lieutenant burst into laughter a grin upon her lips. It had been too long since anyone had caught her off guard. The knights that stood around watched with curious eyes as their lieutenant got back to her feet.
“Everything I have?” She spoke, a playful smile upon her lips. “Hm.” She stepped forward and offered the blunt sword to Ellie. “You’re used to two blades, aren’t you?” She questioned before she stepped over to the weapon stand and she pulled a blunted training polearm from it. It had several knicks in it from the abuse that it had withstood over the years.
“Oh she’s in trouble now.” The knight next to the princess spoke.
Lyrei looked to him, a worried look in her eyes. “She won’t hurt her though…right? It’s just play…right…?” Her crystal hues looked back to the two women.
The knight next to her chuckled. “No, no she won’t hurt her. Those weapons are so dull you couldn’t cut something if you tried.” His statement only received a nod from the princess as she watched anxiously.
Enri flipped the polearm around in her grip, a grin upon her lips. “Now then. Ready?” She asked. She gave her nod and awaited Yavon to call the two to start. Enri held the polearm in one hand, her shield in the other. She focused in on Ellie. Her movement was faster with this weapon, more comfortable, more fluid. Enri zipped forward and slammed the polearm against the ground, she leaped into the air over Ellie and slashed at her back as she flipped and landed on the ground with grace before she burst forward once again. She tossed her shield to the side in a quick motion and came forward wielding the polearm with both hands moving with speed and power. She pushed Ellie back further and further.
The lieutenant slipped to the side and jumped backward with ease, she grinned all the while. She rolled to the side at one point and slammed the polearm against Ellie’s back before she rushed the woman again. Her endurance was something that gave her an advantage over many fighters. Enri flourished forward with the polearm, twisting her body before her knee came up into Ellie’s side swiftly. She jumped back and rushed forward once again she managed to knock one of the swords from Ellie’s grasp as she twisted it with the polearm precisely. Silence surrounded the sparring area as the knights watched their lieutenant and the Rauka. Enri refused to let up as she pushed Ellie back once again, controlling the fight quite well up to this point.

Ellie lifted her gaze and she walked over to the wrack and lifted a second blade. She twisted each sword in her hand and nodded - returning to the ring once more. She watched Enri - she never fought Enri with a polearm before, she wasn't sure what would come of it. Though - she could tell in the sword play that Enri prefered the polearm, some of the attacks were off, mimicking the same sort of footwork of a polearm style...
Ellie lifted her gaze and nodded. Enri leaped high into the air - Ellie shifted, but before she could turn completely - the polearm slashed against her. She stumbled forward and spun swiftly, dust flying into the air with the motion. She held both blades upward and blocked the polearm, slamming the tip of the pole into the ground as she side stepped. She spun and lashed forward - while stepping backward. Enri pushed her further and further back, her attacks swift. The reach of the polearm made it difficult for Ellie to get into position. She smirked as Enri closed the gap. She was able to thrust forward - though her blade thrown away with a flick of the polearm.
Ellie gathered herself and grinned - a single blade in her hand now.. She lunged forward this time - she blocked the polearm that came her way. She reached forward and gripped the pole and used her body weight to throw herself behind Enri - she sliced forward. Though Enri rolled forward and thrust forward. Ellie suddenly jumped upward - a single boot landed on the Polearm's shaft and she jumped again. The polearm thrust downward - Ellie kicked forward and threw the helmet of Enri's off. It hit the ground and bounced towards the Princess. Ellie landed and lifted her blade once more - though this time it was high, level with her own head.
"That it?" she questioned, grinning.

Enri grinned as she controlled the fight. She moved around swiftly catching each attack that Ellie sent her way. Though when Ellie managed to grip the polearm Enri fought back against her, she was quick enough to block the attach from the Rauka. Though she was not fast enough to keep Ellie back this time and as the woman launched off of her polearm Enri leaned back just enough to keep Ellie from slamming her foot into her head. As her helmet flew off Enri stumbled back slightly, her brows pulled together tightly.
Lyrei gasped as the helmet flew into the air, she stared to it as it rolled toward her feet. She knelt and lifted the helmet into her hands. Her eyes looked over the beautiful workmanship before she heard the polearm slam against the tile. Her eyes flicked back up to the match between the two. “You knocked off my helmet.” She chuckled playfully. “I’ll make you pay for that, Ellie.” She drew in a breath as she focused to Ellie once again she twisted the polearm about in her hand. Enri then nodded and once again she was unleashed on Ellie.
The lieutenant burst forward she faked an attack to the left and then swiftly brought the hilt of the polearm into Ellie’s side. She then shoved forward with power to knock Ellie from her balance. Enri leaped into the air as she thrust the polearm into the ground and pole-vaulted herself into the air. She slammed the polearm against Ellie’s shoulder before she landed behind her and kicked at the back of her knee. All the while the princess winced, her expression full of worry. The princess gripped onto Enri’s helmet tightly her heart pounded within her chest.
Enri slipped around and flourished forward, she refused to let up from Ellie this time. She wasn’t going to give her an ounce of pity. Soon enough Enri kicked forward against Ellie and then swiftly brought the polearm to her feet knocking her to her back once again. The lieutenant smirked as she held the blunt time of the polearm to Ellie’s neck. “That enough for you, Ellie?” She asked with a smile. Her emerald hues searched the galaxy of Ellie’s eyes as she grinned a bit wider.

Ellie grinned as Enri lunged forward - she dodged the attack, though Enri was swift. She rolled backward and blocked another. It was block and dodge after another - no time for Ellie to get an attack it. The final motion came in a blur - Ellie glanced up and instantly her shoulder throbbed in pain. She hit the ground and held her head back - her chin lifted as the wooden pole touched her throat.
Ellie grinned then and glanced to the Princess. A figure stepped up next to the woman - a loud crunch filled the air. The figure bit into an apple and chewed loudly. "Sure, good enough I suppose" the voice spoke. The shadowy figure became clearer and it was Ellie, or what appeared to be a duplicate version of Ellie. The Ellie pinned down by Enri suddenly disappeared into ashes. Ellie laughed and threw the apple forward. In an instant - 10 Ellies appeared and swarmed Enri.
Before they could hit Enri - they disappeared in a second and the apple flew foward and pegged Enri on the forehead. Ellie glanced over to the princess and gingerly took the helmet - she vanished and reappeared before Enri. She held the helmet forward and grinned "You have bested my mortal self..." she grinned and then bowed deeply. "You are the better warrior" she smirked and watched the woman put her helmet back on...

Enri smiled playfully to Ellie as she pulled her polearm back and shifted to hold her hand forward to help Ellie from the ground. Though when Ellie did not take her hand she followed the gaze of the woman. Lyrei jumped as the crunch sounded next to her, her crystal hues looked to Ellie in confusion. The princess looked back to Enri whom stood over Ellie. She looked back to the woman that stood next to her. “Ellie?” She asked just before the woman threw the apple. The princess watched in shock as several figures appeared around Enri. Her breath caught in her chest.
Enri drew in a breath her eyes widened, she held up the polearm and swung forward to defend herself just as the figures disappeared. The apple caught her square in the forehead and she winced slightly as she took a step back.
The princess was speechless, her jaw loose as this all happened. She gazed to Ellie whom carefully took the helmet from her. She shook her head slightly.
Enri began laughing as Ellie approached her, “That’s a neat trick you have there.” She took her helmet and inspected it for damage from it being kicked from her head. Not a mark upon the metal. She grinned to Ellie. “I wouldn’t say I am better than you.” She smirked then, “Perhaps we are both notable warriors? Hm? You surprised me. No one can do that.” She glanced to the princess. “Oh…dear…” She chuckled again, “Perhaps war is not the place for our sweet princess hm?” She pat Ellie’s shoulder before she stepped over to the princess whom still looked quite shocked. “Princess?” She asked carefully. “Are you alright?”
Lyrei broke her gaze and nodded her head. “Yes…yes I’ve just never…” She glanced to Ellie, her brows furrowed slightly. She’d never seen magic like that, let alone she’d never really watched sparring in such a close environment. She could feel the movement of the air off of the two as they fought. “I am not accustomed to sparring. That’s all…are you alright?” She asked she then looked to Ellie. “You’re not hurt?” She questioned, worried about the two.
Enri chuckled and shook her head. “Princess, we are quite alright. No need to worry, hm?” She spoke and then glanced to Ellie. “I should turn in. There is much preparation to be done before…” She drew in a breath and then nodded. “Thanks for that. I very much enjoyed it. It’s been too long since I’ve laughed like that.” She chuckled lightly as she gazed to Ellie. “You’ve always been able to make me laugh somehow.” She then bowed to the princess. “Do be careful.” She spoke before she departed swiftly. The knights had already broken up, many had departed to their quarters as the moon rose into the sky.
Lyrei gazed over to where Ellie and Enri had fought. She drew in a breath before she glanced around and her eyes finally settled on Enri. “Your shoulder is hurt…” She spoke as she stepped forward. The princess gazed to a bit of blood that leaked from Ellie’s shoulder from the harsh blow that Enri had dealt. Without thinking Lyrei placed her hand over the wound, her breathing quickened slightly as a white glow took over her eyes. A warmth would have entered Ellie’s body from the point that the princess touched. She closed her eyes then as she focused, her breath was let out slowly and she removed her hand from the Rauka. “There.” The princess smiled as she looked to the mended skin, not a mark remained. “You two are quite excellent warriors…that was hard to watch.” The princess spoke as she turned, “We should head inside, it’s getting to be late.” She spoke as she walked back into the castle.
Lyrei walked down the corridors she gazed to Ellie, “That magic you used…is that Rauka magic?” She questioned as they reached her room. She pushed the door open and walked inside. “I could feel it. When you stood next to me, I could feel your power. I’ve never felt anything quite like that before.” She stepped over to the table that held her teapot and she filled it with water before she lit a warmer and placed it over the top of it. She did not have the magic of fire like her mother. Lyrei turned and leaned her hips against the table her eyes curious. “You said that I am your opposite?” She questioned, thinking more clearly now that she had sobered up. “What do you think that means? Do you know?”

Ellie bowed her head to Enri and gripped her arm. “You are still the only one who can best me” she grinned “Rest well, Enri.” she watched the woman leave. She sucked in a breath and let it go slowly, thats when she winced slightly – the trickling of blood leaked over her tunic. She glanced to Lyrei who approached her – a gentle and warm hand over the broken skin. She watched with curious eyes – the miracle in which Lyrei performed… she nodded her head slowly in thanks and then smirked. “Thank you..” she placed a hand on Lyrei’s briefly and then stepped back.
She carried her two swords to the rack and placed them, after she pulled her two blades and strapped them back into place. She turned to Lyrei and followed her “Agreed..” she smiled as she glanced to the moon that peered back. There was a kind of darkness that cascade over the land, and in that darkness – she felt most comfortable. She could perform in the light, but it was as if the darkness was meant for her – the cool breeze that was nippy against her uncovered skin…
Ellie glanced to Lyrei as she spoke to her. “Yes… it is what we warriors call – a flex” she chuckled. “It is… a unique power. Whenever I tap into it – it flows like a broken dam. I can control it fine, but it...” she sucked in a breath “It is just a lot to handle, some times” she let the breath out slowly. “When I first came to it – it terrified me… the amount is..” she shook her head. They finally came to her room, she removed her swords and set them against the wall.
Her eyes watched the Princess start up the tea… “Well, my opposite – is an assumption...” she spoke and crossed her arms briefly, her brows pulled together. “My power is of darkness, being Rauka means to essentially be darkness incarnate – I am not threatened by it like others might be of dark magic, rather… it is just part of me. I’ve learned to not fear it… because – without darkness there is no light, right? And, it can be used for good – which is the Rauka’s purpose” she smirked. “And not every entity of darkness is evil. Sometimes… dark just plays it’s role, intentionally – for good will” she paused.
“My sword is made for Rauka, it is intended to reflect the inner nature of that darkness” she shook her head. “When I hold it – it is part of me, my body, and my soul. I can feel every bit of my blade, I can taste when it slices, and hear the tune of the vibration...” she stepped forward and accepted the cup of tea as it finished. “It glows in response to that nature… so, my assumption is… well. Perhaps you are some kind of incarnate of light… it senses that purity within you. You see, with Yavon – it did not glow any color because that essence of Darkness does not dwell in him, nor purity. So for it to glow… in general, means that reaction must be of the highest and purest form...” she shook her head slightly. “Whatever lurks under your presumed capabilities… it is greater than just the curing of a wound. But… I do not know what it is, what it could be. All I can see are the signs that indicate existence of ..something” she spoke and took a sip. “That… is all I can say” she took another sip. “And you make a great mug” she smirked and sat down in a plush chair.
“Your mother said something interesting to me earlier. She said… You hadn’t full discovered your power, she indicated you were more than even you knew...” she sipped again. “I think… whatever it is we are discovering, your mother knows something… as she always tends to..” she chuckled and took another sip. “I discovered… she knew my mother – and my father. They were close” she drew in the mug and placed her lips on the edge of it, the warmth was soothing to her. “My father sacrificed his life to end a demon, and my mother passed not long after. The Queen, your mother, had promised to apparently look over me” she chuckled slightly. “How long I had gone – wanting to know, and in a matter of minutes she spelled it out to me” she shook her head and took a sip. “I suppose, it doesn’t matter much now. I am here, Rauka bound, my past is meaningless and only the future matters” she chuckled, her voice had a gross yet royal tone as she said that… mocking the Rauka leadership.

Lyrei chuckled lightly to Ellie’s response. “A flex hm?” She questioned and smiled, her usual practiced smile had returned. Her royal tone had also followed suit. “I can only imagine how terrifying it must have been the first time that you used your power...just feeling it made my hair stand on end.” She admitted. “Though, I did not feel...threatened...” She shook her head slightly. “But I knew how powerful you were in that moment.” The princess tended to the tea pot as she listened to Ellie speak. “Many fear the darkness because of the history of it.” She spoke as she poured the two mugs. She turned and offered the mug forward with a sweet smile.
The princess stepped over and took a seat in one of the comfy chairs, she relaxed into it and let out a content sigh. “It is quite interesting how in tune you are with the blade...the magic of it is quite incredible.” She spoke with a curious tone in her voice, her eyes looked to the hilts of the blades a moment before she looked back to Ellie.
When Ellie began to speak of the queen the princess fell quiet, her brows furrowed and her smile melted away as she focused on the words. She drew in a long breath, “Mother always tends to know many things...but she doesn’t speak of them much...she calls it more of a curse than anything more.” She spoke and frowned slightly. “Your past...is just as important though...Ellie...” She searched her galaxy eyes for a long moment. “Rauka or not, your past made you who you were...I am terribly sorry that such information was kept from you...it sounds like your mother and father were incredible elves.” She gave a gentle smile. “I do wish that I had gotten to know you more when we were younger.” She smirked slightly. “I do believe that we would have been great friends and perhaps...I could have gotten my mother to tell you the truth sooner...rather than later...” She finally tore her eyes from the entrancing hues of the Rauka. Lyrei drew in a long breath before she lifted her mug to her lips and took a long sip.
“I certainly hope that tomorrow goes well...I have such a pit in my stomach over it. It feels as though I have swallowed a rock...” She shook her head. “Something...something is not right, Ellie.” She glanced to her a moment. “I can feel it...at least...I think I can...it could be my mind playing tricks upon me.” She gave gentle laugh then. She sipped her tea once more. “I hope you are right about my power...perhaps I can be more useful in this war than we know?” She laughed lightly. “I am not going to be able to help with a sword any time soon.” She smiled then, a true smile. “If our enemy is even half as skilled with the blade as you are, I would be in a great deal of trouble.” A laugh came over her lips once again. “Perhaps one day when this is all over you can teach me how to defend myself?” She asked before she took another drink from her mug.

Ellie pressed her lips against the warm mug and sighed softly. “Well, the past is just the past. I have come to terms with it, no matter what information I learn – it does not change the current. It does not change that we are at war, and your very life is threatened...” she finished her mug and stood up… She stepped over to the table and set it down. Her hues glanced to her as she spoke of how she felt – some looming feeling over her. “Teach you to fight? Hmm… one day, perhaps” she smiled and nodded. Though she thought for a long moment… pausing..
“Hmm..” she pressed a finger to her chin briefly. “A lot has happened in just a few days, nearly expected that you’d feel a sense of doom, and dread.” she moved towards the bed and sat down, she crossed her legs and in took in a breath. “Come here, sit – I’ll show you a little trick, hm?” she smirked and waited for her to join her atop the bed.
She reached into her pack which sat against the wall and pulled a scroll out. She unraveled it and let it sit infront of her. It had a rune written in black ink, it had several symbols in between the lines that traced from edge to edge of a circle. She placed her hand on it and it glowed slightly. “This… its a neat gift given to me… I used to have terrible panic attacks, the demon blood within me would draw out my fears and manifest them. It took me a while to be able to sleep through the night, and to live with that same internal...threatening feeling...” she sucked in a breath. “Touch the rune – here” she touched the center. It glowed for a second and stopped. It would do the same for Lyrei…
“Now- this will link our minds together… we will see a vision of the same… but we both think of first – a place...a place we love, or would like to go to. The smells, the sights, the people if any, the creatures… and we shall see it, breath it, feel it. Our imagation drawn to life… a getaway from all that is...” she shut her eyes then and thought.. She would allow Lyrei to piace.. she wanted to know what the woman might choose…

The princess finished her own tea as she watched Ellie move about the room. She remained in the chair as she listened to her speak. She chuckled lightly as Ellie only slightly agreed to train her to defend herself. It was a laughable cause, she wasn’t even certain she could be taught to hold a sword properly, let alone do anything near what she witnessed Ellie and Enri perform. Lyrei furrowed her brows slightly as the woman stepped over to her bed. She stood and placed her mug on the table next to the empty pot of tea and stepped over. She sat down on the edge of the bed and peered to the rune that Ellie had placed upon the bed. The scroll looked old and weathered, as if she’d used it many times.
As Ellie spoke of the panic attacks that she had when she first took in the demon blood the princess gazed to her curiously. Such a strong person and she had flaws all the same. Most did not admit to their flaws, most hid them. That was the trouble with society, flaws were ugly blemishes upon a character that were unwanted. The world did not wish to see the anguish and the pain within a soul. No, that was to be bottled up and hidden well away from the light of day. At least...for royalty that was the case. “Just touch it?” Lyrei asked, she seemed a bit hesitant. She gazed to Ellie with curious crystal hues as she listened to her speak of the dream that they would guide.
“Alright...” She spoke before she reached forward and placed her hand in the center of the rune. She watched as it began to glow white her own eyes glowed slightly as her own magic reacted to the spell. Lyrei gazed to Ellie a moment before she drew in a breath and closed her eyes.
**
The air was warm, a summer day. The sky was a perfect blue, a few fluffy clouds within sight, but not a shadow cast down upon the land beneath. The sun was as bright as ever, the warmth of its rays kissed Lyrei’s skin. The gentle sound of a waterfall could be heard as well as the chirping of the morning birds. Lyrei lay within a lush mound of grass, she drew in a breath as her eyes fluttered open. She sat up slowly and looked around to find that Ellie had been laying next to her. A smile curved up her lips as she slowly stood, the princess was dressed in elven riding gear. Leather boots, riding gloves, a blouse that fit her perfectly. Her hair was pulled up into a messy bun on the back of her head. She turned slowly as she looked into the crystal clear waters as the waterfall cascaded from the cliffs above.
“Oh...this is one of my favorite places.” She spoke a warm smile upon her lips.
The princess grinned and gazed to Ellie. “I haven’t been here since I was a child. Mother used to allow me to ride up her alone once a month. When it was safe enough. I’m certain that she sent knights behind me, but...” She let out a content sigh. The princess stepped forward to the edge of the serene waters and she smirked slightly. She looked to the beautiful flowers that lined the waters, the lush environment. It was a good two hour ride from the castle, deep within the forests. But it was a ride in a direction away from any other civilization. Any assailant would have to pass through the city in order to gain access to the trail that led deep within the mountains to this perfect place.
Lyrei stepped over to one of the flowers and she leaned down to sniff it, a smile curved up her lips. “Even the flowers smell real.” She chuckled and then looked to Ellie. “I used to bring my books here. I’d spend the entire day, basking in the sun...studying...” She gazed around a bit more. There were two horses from the castle, fully tacked in the kingdom’s colors. The princess stepped over to one of the horses and placed her palm upon the snout of the creature. It whinnied slightly to her and pressed it’s nose against her palm. Lyrei grinned once again. She had nearly forgotten about her childhood getaway...and this felt real enough to be just that. “The ride here is just as beautiful as this place...” She spoke as she came and sat on the soft grassy knoll again. She gazed into the waters with a soft smile. “That’s...a really neat gift you were given, Ellie...to be able to enjoy something calming...I...cannot imagine the turmoil your mind must have gone through when you first accepted the demon blood. I have only heard few stories of the process…I am afraid I wouldn’t survive it.” She glanced to the woman. “What place do you normally choose to go to?” She asked in a curious tone. “You’ve seen so much of the world now...I can only imagine the beautiful places that you’ve come across.”

Ellie opened her gaze to peer to a blue sky. There were puffy white clouds that moved slowly across the scape... Her head turned to the side to be greeted by a crunching grass, that smelled fresh and comforting. Her hues glanced to the woman before her, who stared upward as well. She smiled and then slowly sat upward, her eyes glanced about. Wild flowers wafted like waves in an ocean... She stood then and glanced over to the tall waterfall. She could feel the misting water float her way, she could nearly taste it too.
Her steps moved towards the horse, and how the horse greeted Lyrei. She smirked and held her hand forward slowly - only for the horse to nuzzle it's nose into her hand in acceptance. She smiled once more and scratched happily. "It's beautiful" she whispered. "I had no idea something like this place existing so close" she turned and glanced up to the sky. She covered her brows with a hand - blocking the sun that shined down upon her. "Its so peaceful - soothing" she whispered and turned back to the woman. She listened to her story how she would ride here... she smiled once again and approached her. "I'm glad you like it..." she smirked and then grasped her hand within hers. "Me, hm?" she smirked and shut her eyes.
The scenery change. The first thing felt was a soothing cool chill, a breeze that pushed against the skin. Cold but not too cold. They were so high in the sky - standing on the edge of a overlooking cliff. It peered down into a great mountain valley, it was steep. Looking out - one would see the misty clouds that covered the tree tops, like a milky fog that danced within the treescape. The mountains across the way were tall and towering... From the cliffside were a set of stairs, that could be traced as a winding upward road from the hidden valley.
"A few miles out from the Rauka home" she pointed outward to a small city in the distance. Flickering lights and bonfire-smoke lingered above it. "I'd run to this mountainside, climb over 8000 steps" she then sat down and crossed her legs. She smirked as she shut her eyesb briefly and then opened them. Before her a glowing blue rabbit appeared. The bunny hopped forward and nudged her knee with its head, rubbing happily. It made a chirping sound and then lifted into the air - sprouting blue wings from its back. It did a flip and then swirled around her. A light giggle escaped Ellie - as she watched the bunny dance. She held her hands forward and the bunny landed upon her palms and chirped once more. "This mountain top is thick with Fae spirits... this one - bonded with me. I would come out here and meditate, and she would wiggle her way out for some playtime..." she laughed then and watched as the bunny lifted into the air and danced around Lyrei.
"I'd come here and train, running the steps. Say hello to my friend, and make my way back home, every other day" she sighed softly and then stood. "My friend here brought me a lot of comfort, and... well.. the way she connected with me... I cannot explain it... this place is where I discovered myself, and came to terms with what it meant to be Rauka" she smirked. "I tell you what... for now - I offer you this scroll. May it help you understand who you are, who you are to become..." she bowed her head then. "You need it far more than I do... for now" she spoke and then she shut her eyes. The scenes faded and they appeared once more in her room.
"I suppose... we have a big day coming up. I hope you rest well, Princess" she bowed her head and lifted her blades from the wall. "I will inform the guards to ensure they are alert... until the morning" she turned then to leave.

Lyrei's riding gearLyrei's battle armorLyrei grinned as she looked to Ellie as the woman pet the horse. “Most don’t know of it. My grandfather discovered it, he used to bring my mother here when she was young for training…” She spoke as she gazed around. She looked to Ellie with curious hues as the woman too her hand, her eyes tracked down to their hands and then she gave another smile as she followed suit and shut her own eyes. As the chill of the air surrounded them the princess gave a slight shiver as goosebumps ran up her bare arms. She looked about, her jaw loosened as she looked to the valley below. “Oh…” She breathed, “It’s…stunning…” She gazed to Ellie, “Eight thousand?” She questioned, she couldn’t imagine. But it was incredible that the woman had climbed those stairs for training. The princess grinned as Ellie smirked she sat down next to her, she looked back to the city once again as Ellie closed her eyes. Though the blue glow caught her attention. Lyrei turned her gaze back to Ellie as the giggle escaped from the woman. She watched with a smile upon her lips as she interacted with the fae spirit. She’d never seen a fae spirit, she’d read of them…but…she almost thought that it was more of a fairytale than anything more. She looked to Ellie, the happiness that emitted from her in this moment, the princess had not felt such a light hearted attitude from this woman before. Lyrei listened as Ellie spoke of her training and the time that she’d spent with the fae, she smiled. “Oh…no Ellie I could not fathom taking the scroll…” The princess raised her brows in concern. The world around her began to fade though as Ellie had ended the dream. Lyrei gazed down to the beautiful city once again before she drew in a breath and closed her own eyes to end it. When she opened her eyes she was laying back on the bed, staring to the ceiling. She drew in a breath as she sat up slowly, she gazed to Ellie, “Yes…of course…” She spoke as she stood, she felt a sense of fear with the woman leaving the room. “Rest well, Ellie.” She spoke as she looked to the scroll on the bed. She reached to it and rolled it carefully before she placed it upon her bedside table. The princess stepped over to her balcony. She stepped outside and gripped onto the cool stone and gazed up to the moon that cascaded its silvery light over the city below. She looked over the flickering flames of the city that had yet to go to rest. The princess drew in a breath after several minutes of standing in silence. She turned and stepped into her quarters where she changed into a silk evening gown. She climbed into her bed and blew the candle out next to her bed. Darkness cascaded across the room like a blanket. Her eyes slipped shut and she was pulled into a slumber quickly. Lyrei stood within a battle ground. The sound of swords clattering surrounded her. Screaming. The crackle of flames. She looked down to her body, she wore protective leather armor. Her hands trembled, runes ran up her arms beneath the armor. She could feel her heart beating rapidly within her chest.
“Princess!” A familiar voice called across the battlefield. Enri.
Lyrei turned just as a hulking figure descended upon her. The eyes of the creature glowed like the embers of a fire. A greater demon. She felt the claws of the creature wrap around her body and crush into her. A scream escaped her lips as she slammed her fist into the chest of the demon as she was lifted into the air by its huge leathery wings. Arrows flew passed the two as the knights of Azuresta attempted to save their princess. Lyrei spoke something then, a language that she did not recognize. Her fist slammed into the demon and a power emit from her that shook the battlefield. A wave of white magic pulsed from her causing the demon to turn to ash. Lyrei twisted and turned in the air crying out as she plummeted back toward the ground. The princess shot up in her bed breathing rapidly. Tears streamed over her cheeks. A knight rushed into the room. “Princess?” He questioned, his sword was drawn, two more knights filed in just behind him. “Princess are you hurt?” He stepped to the side of her bed. Lyrei was in a daze, she blinked several times and then looked to her hands a moment before she gazed to the elf that knelt at the side of her bed, the other two knights swept her quarters for danger. “No. No I am not hurt. Just a bad dream.” She forced a smile. The knight searched her eyes a moment, he glanced to his men as they stated that the room was clear. “Very well, princess. If you need anything, please, I am just outside.” He then turned and the three stepped from the room. The princess lay back and stared to the ceiling. She found that she was unable to fall back asleep. She gazed outside to see that the moon was falling low in the sky, it was the perfect time to begin their trek to the temple. She slipped from her bed and stepped to her dresser where she pulled out clothing that would suit the adventure. She slipped into a pair of pants with leather riding boots that reached her knees. The princess pulled on a black tunic and then she pulled on a thick half cloak that reached the middle of her back, it was lined with warm fur for their trek up the mountain. She pulled on a belt at her hips and she pulled her hair into a messy bun atop her head. She gazed in the mirror to herself and a flash of her dream crossed her mind. She drew in a sharp breath and bit her lip slightly. Was she beginning to have the same visions that her mother claimed to plague her? She prayed it was merely a dream from all of the excitement. Lyrei stepped from her room. The knight from before turned. “Princess?” He questioned, surprised to see her dressed in such a way. “Are you alright?” “Yes, quite.” Lyrei spoke with a soft smile. “The Rauka, Ellie, where is she staying?” She questioned then. The knight hesitated a moment before he pointed. “Just down the hallway…in the guest quarters, your majesty.” “Thank you.” Lyrei spoke as she turned and walked down the hallway. She made her way to the guest quarters and she paused as she came to the door. She lifted her hand up and knocked. “Ellie?” She questioned as she pushed the door open. “Are you ready?” She asked then as she stepped into the room.
