The queen had chuckled to Tora and glanced over her shoulder as the woman slapped her rear. “Oh, I can count the survivors on one hand.” She smirked to her, “One finger really.” She winked to her. Raenisa scrambled back, “Tora!” She cried as she watched Tora fearlessly attack the beasts. They just kept coming. She grit her teeth as she rushed forward in the footsteps of Tora. “Watch out!” She pierced her Javelin into the beast’s heart. Her eyes glowed from her magic that fueled her. She’d stopped the attack on Tora. She reached her hand forward and helped her to her feet. “These aren’t the beasts we should be fighting. This is something else, they shouldn’t be this strong.” She breathed. Blood ran down the queen’s arm as the ground rumbled beneath them. She nearly lost her balance as she gazed up to the skies. “This can’t be….” The queen turned and rushed off, “Hurry Tora!” She called over her shoulder as she ran through the streets. Another one of the bat beasts landed before the queen and swiped at her. Raenisa grit her teeth and lunged forward with a jab, lightning crackled from the javelin as she swept the field. Two other beasts were destroyed in the attack. She breathed heavily as she moved swiftly. “We have to get to the castle.” She cried as the ground rumbled again. It was then that the queen heard it. The roar of a dragon. The sound of its huge wings beat above the city. She skid to a stop, her breath caught in her chest. “No...no no...” She watched as fire reigned down on the city. “Fafnir...” She had tears well in her eyes. The queen turned to Tora. “Get to Amara. You’ll have to make her go into the tunnels of the castle. Rhys knows how to get there.” She gripped onto Tora’s chest piece. “Don’t stop running until you get her there.” The ground rumbled once again. Raenisa pressed her lips to Tora’s lips and then she turned and rushed off as an explosion happened nearby. Fafnir ** Amara rushed through the castle with her bow over her back, she’d changed into her battle armor. As she rushed to the courtyard of the castle the huge black dragon soared over the city. “It can’t be...” Her lips parted as she stared up to the dragon the flew from a magical portal in the sky. “Your highness!” The captain rushed forward. “Where is the queen?” His eyes were wide. “We are under attack. We must get you to safety.” Amara rushed forward toward the city. “Princess!” Eldrin rushed after her. “Princess you must turn around.” He blocked her and gripped her shoulders. “Where is the queen?!” “She’s in the city!” Amara had tears streaming down her cheeks. “Eldrin let me go!” She cried as another explosion happened. The bat beasts were all no longer in the skies. The princess shoved against the Captain and rushed forward toward the city. ** The queen ran up a trail north of the city, she slipped a few times but managed to keep her pace. “Come on.” She told herself as she pressed through the deep snow that had fallen on the mountainside. The sound of the dragon over the city echoed against the rocky mountainside. Years ago when the humans betrayed the elves, something was stolen from them. A precious jewel that had long been dormant. One the day that Lhoris, the late king, was sacrificed to the dragon king one of the soldiers of King Alexander slipped into the library of the castle and stole this jewel from its case upon the mantle of the fireplace. Since then the queen had kept every important artifact in the vaults below the castle. Only two knew where the key to the vaults were kept...the queen and the princess. The jewel that King Alexander stole was a relic used long ago to win a war against the demons. The elves summoned the great dragon Fafnir. Without the mighty power of the summoned dragon the elves would have surly perished to the might of the demon forces. It was then that the elves vowed to never use blood magic, as this is how the demons were brought about to this world. Greed had caused so much meaningless death and destruction. The queen made her way through the thick snow to a beautiful stone pavilion that held beautiful blue glass windows. In the center of the pavilion was a stone bowl that held elvish inscriptions upon it. Through a large opening the city could be seen in the distance. Raenisa was breathless as she pulled her dagger from her hip. She held her hand over the bowl and sliced into it as she began to speak in the ancient tongue. As her blood dripped into the bowl a blue light began to glow within the inscriptions. Her amber hues began to glow as well. ** Arwyn ran through the city. “Tora!” She cried as she rushed to the woman and wrapped her arms around her legs. “My father you have to help him.” She had tears streaming down her cheeks. “Please.” The child tugged at Tora’s hand. “Please help him.” Amara ran up as tears streamed down her cheeks. “Where is she?” She questioned as she glanced around. “Tora where is my mother?” Her voice shook as she looked to the Seer. Fafnir flew above the city his flames beat down upon homes like bombs, causing massive destruction. Though something happened, the dragon suddenly stopped and looked up the hillside where the queen was within the pavilion. A blue light emitted from the structure. As the dragon flew outside of the stone structure there was a massive emission of power. Like a shockwave the power burst from the pavilion. A wind burst over Armalon from the blue wave of magic. The fires from Fafnir extinguished in moments.

Tora looked down as she jumped from roof top to roof top. She listened to the Queen shout her orders – she didn’t like them, but she would listen. “Show no Mercy, my lady!!” she shouted as she jumped to the ground and dashed towards the castle. She looked up to the roaring dragon – the fire in her dream. She grit her teeth and rounded the corner – only to nearly run into a child.
Tora stomped to a stop and breathed heavily – the young girl grasped her and hugged tightly. “Arywn...” she looked up to the buildings.. the scene was slightly different. “Your father?” she questioned and then looked up - “Amara - “ she grit her teeth. “Your mother – I” she leaned back and shielded her eyes as huge burst of white light emit from the mountain side. It was blinding – but yet refreshing. “There she is” Tora muttered, she could feel the power and the light emit. It was like a fresh breath of air, the glare of the light was welcoming, like the arms of the Queen – the smell of her hair…
Tora sucked in a breath as the light faded. She watched the bird creatures fall from the sky, hitting the ground and then crawling forward… Tora turned her gaze she stood up straight. As she looked down the street – the father of Arwyn came rushing forward. “Arywn – go, your father” she pointed.
Tora came to Amara’s side and she helped her up. “I think that was her...” she bit her lip “Your mother told me to take you to the tunnels.. but I disagree, we stand with her” she grasped Amara’s hand and pulled her up. “Come with me” she turned and lead Amara through the city. She sliced through some passing creatures, one that prayed on a woman trapped in an ally, another that simply scampered by.
“It’s my turn” Tora spoke and bit her tongue. She pulled both of her axes and held them to the sky. “Thor – hear my call” she called out. Tora’s eye began to surge with power, flickering like lighting in the dark clouds. Swiftly the sky became covered and there was darkness. “Strike my enemies down with your power!!!” She thrust her axes forward. In an instant lightning began to strike down on the creatures. Some were shocked in mid air – falling to their doom and death. Others were running forward – all at once, a crack of sound and lightning struck. The earth rumbled and the skies flashed. Tora began to shake as she cast the lightning spell, but she did not give in. Her nose cracked and began to bleed – she finally trembled and her arms fell. The clouds disappeared and the rumble gave in.
Tora caught herself before she hit the ground. She held an arm to her nose and grunted “Fuck those guys” she limped forward. “Your mother awaits you, go now. I’ll secure the city” she shouted to a viking group and demanded their action. Swiftly the city began to clean up – whatever was not shocked to death, was easily picked off by the guard and vikings…
After a bit Tora sat at the base of the stairs at the entrance of the castle, waiting for Amara and Raenisa to return…

Amara fell to the ground as the burst of power washed through the city. She grit her teeth as she blocked her eyes from the bright light. Amara gazed up as the light began to fade, she could see the light recede into the stone structure upon the mountainside, one of the area temples. “She’s there?” The princess questioned. She lifted her hues as she watched the creatures fall from the skies from the magic that had penetrated through them.
Arwyn turned and let out a cry. “Father!” She rushed toward the man.
He knelt down and hugged her as she made it to him. He lifted his hues to look to Tora. “Thank you. I will not forget this, Seer.” He spoke as he lifted his daughter and carried her off. He had a deep gashed on his shoulder from one of the creatures.
“My mother?” Amara questioned as Tora helped her to her feet. “I don’t understand...such power...” Her brows furrowed. “The tunnels...no I will not go--...” The princess paused as she realized that Tora spoke that she did not agree with the queen. She nodded and ran behind Tora. With precision she pulled her bow and shot several of the remaining creatures. Amara paused in awe as she looked to the viking woman. She gazed around as the lightening came down from the skies and struck several of the remaining beasts. When Tora collapsed Amara rushed forward, a hand upon her back. “You’re hurt.” Amara spoke as she looked to Tora’s injuries and the blood that leaked from her nose.
The princess gazed up to the structure upon the mountainside. She bit her lip slightly. “Please, stay safe. Rhys has the castle secured with several guards.” She nodded and then the princess rushed off without another word.
It was a steep climb, Amara raced up the mountainside in her mothers footsteps. Blood leaked into the snow along her mother’s path from the injury that she had sustained. Once the princess made it to the temple she paused, she could see a heap laying upon the floor of the stone pavilion. “Mother!” She cried as she rushed forward. The princess skidded to a stop as her eyes fell upon a form that was knelt over her mother.
The elf that knelt over her mother was dressed in war armor, and yet still feminine. The woman looked up from the queen, her hues were silver, her hair a dark brunette. “Ahh Amara Vamaer, Princess of Armalon.” The woman took her hand from the queen’s forehead. “Your mother is a brave soul.” She spoke as she stepped forward to the princess.
“Vandria...” Amara’s breath trembled as she looked to the woman that stood before her. The beautiful armor that had glowing bits and pieces.
“Yes child.” The goddess spoke with a smirk upon her lips. “She called upon me to aid her in saving the city from Fafnir.” The woman turned her hues to the queen who lay motionless upon the cold stone ground. “What she did most would say was impossible. Wouldn’t you? To absorb a power such as Fafnir. No elf has ever done such a thing.” Vandria grinned slightly, “War is on your horizon for 20 years and your people have not once asked me for help...not until your city is nearly blown to pieces by Fafnir.” The goddess walked back into the pavilion.
Amara followed her and she watched as the woman stood over her mother once again. She stared to her mother, watching for her chest to rise and fall...which it did...Amara let out a breath of relief. “Mother prays each day that we make it out of the war and that one day we may have peace.” The princess spoke as she looked to the goddess.
“But first you must fight back, child.” The goddess grinned as she stepped forward and placed a hand upon Amara’s shoulder. “You. You must fight back. Before they make their next move. Tonight the humans plan to attack once again. In hopes that the city is in shambles from this display of their magic. You must end this, Amara. Your mother will not be able to help you this time.” With those words the goddess disappeared.
Amara fell to her knees next to her mother, blood leaked from her mother’s nose, her skin was pale. “Mother?” She questioned as she shook her slightly. She looked to the deep gash upon her mother’s shoulder. The princess drew in a breath as she placed her hand over it. She could feel the warm blood as it leaked out against her hand. “Don’t worry.” She whispered softly as a white glow came from her hand. She stayed like this, mending the wound. Amara watched as the skin pulled together and soon enough the deep gash was just a memory of the past.
Suddenly the queen’s eyes opened and she gripped onto Amara’s arm. She had a pained expression as she grit her teeth. “Amara...we...have...to kill...him...” Her eyes fluttered and her muscles tensed before she fell limp once again.
The princess bit her lip slightly, she heard the soft crunch of snow behind her. She turned her gaze. “Rhys...” She breathed, relieved.
“Is she…?” He asked as he approached. “I...saw the explosion from the castle...” He bit his lip slightly.
“No...no she’s just tired...can you help me get her back to the castle?” Amara stood and nodded to him. “We don’t have much time.” She spoke as she watched him scoop her up. Amara rushed down the mountainside with Rhys in tow. As they came to the castle she rushed forward to Tora. “Seer.” She spoke and glanced over her shoulder to Rhys whom approached with the queen in his arms. “Take her to her room...get the apothecary...” Amara ordered before she turned her attention back to Tora.
“I was approached by a goddess of war upon the mountainside...my mother called to her for help...she...” She looked to Rhys’ back as he walked away with the queen in his arms. “She woke for a moment...my mother told me we need to kill someone...she looked as though she was in pain...” She shook her head once again. “I...the goddess...she spoke of the humans...she said they aim to attack again tonight...we have to stop them...come...” She rushed up the stairs of the castle and she made her way to her room where she pulled the book from the drawer of her desk. “We have to stop them...” She spoke and shook her head again as she handed the book forward. It detailed every bit of the attack the Amara had planned. “If they are going to attack tonight that will leave their camps vulnerable...we can destroy the camps and flank them from behind. Show no mercy...that dragon...Fafnir...he was called upon by magic...blood magic no doubt...” She pinched the bridge of her nose. “Tora...what do we do?” She questioned, tears brimmed her eyes.

Tora stood as the Princess returned, she looked to Raenisa who was in Rhys’s arms. She bit the inside of her cheek and sighed softly. “I’m glad she is okay...” Tora spoke and followed Amara as she spoke of the Goddess. She placed two hands on the edge of the desk and took in a deep breaths. “Their intent is to first spook us” she gathered herself and let out a deep breath. “We cannot let him win, he wants us to panic and make a mistake” she held her hands up. “So, hands up - breath with me. In….” she sucked in deeply and slowly “and out” she released her hands. “Again” she breathed in again and released it…
“They are being over-confident, attacking on this day for fun… because they can” she smirked “it means they don’t realize you have help.. that is good. My people have kept them from finding out...” she raised a brow and nodded. “You are right, yes. We go now and take out the camps. Actually – I bet they are communicating with the beacon… we might be able to use that to our advantage and have them prematurely attack without back up” she nodded and grinned. “Alright, here is what we do...”
She pointed to the map “Set up a proper war field here” she pointed infront of the Kingdom. “Then you and I will attack these groups and signal for their attack. They attack and we pinch them with the war field – so they come out of the forest here, and we attack upon exit” she leaned back. “Then a little later – his remaining forces attack, thinking they will be able to call for the next waves.. but ha, they will be dead” she grinned. “This may be it, the fight that wins it all. You planned it… you execute it” she gripped her hand and nodded.
“Yvette and my shield maidens will go with you, they are my steathiest group, and have great long ranged abilities. So plan your attack with that knowledge. If needed to attack close up – stay grouped together and form the shield wall… you say it, they will do it. Yvette will help you, she is the best of the best, next to you” she grinned and then stood. “Very well, good luck. Let’s do this” she rushed away.
Tora ran out of the room and rushed to the Queen’s chambers. She opened the door and stepped inside, a doctor was finishing with the Queen. “It seems we make a big advance today, my Queen” she stepped towards the bed and nodded to the Doctor. “Just a moment, if you don’t mind” she nodded to him. The Doctor looked to Tora and then nodded slowly, he left the room.
Tora leaned down and gave the Queen a gentle kiss, there was a little passion as she stole an extra kiss before standing upright once more. “We are going to attack the campsites now. There is no doubt that Alexander will attack tonight, so we prepare our defenses. Your daughter has created the best war strategy I’ve come to know, she will be the reason for this victory...” she pulled the orb out from her pocket and handed it to the Queen. “You watch… you rest. Hold your Kingdom, while we take care of the rest” she cupped the Queen’s cheek. “I’ll come back for you when it’s done” she kissed her again and then stood up. “Usually you’d give me my sword, and wish me best on the battlefield, maybe pack my lunch...” she chuckled “Rest, my Queen.” she bowed her head and then stepped away. As Tora made for the door.. she paused and glanced back to the Queen.
“I’ve never made a second glance before leaving before… you’re the first..” she smirked and then exited the room…
Tora made for the village plains. As she arrived the entire Viking village was prepared for war, standing at attention outside of the village. It was split into two, Yvette stood infront of her group, Tora infront of hers. “This is it – this could be the fight that changes the course of this war!” She shouted “Blood must be shed, someone will die tonight! Shall we bring Honor to the Gods, or shall we die in their name and drink our shame?!” She shouted “Valhalla maybe, but not today!” she shouted aloud. “They came to disturb the peace, disrupt our rituals and practices? They ask for nothing but their wrath” she shouted again. The viking crowd grew louder and louder. She turned to see Elves marching towards the plains.
Soon the entire crowd of people surrounded Tora. “Tonight we stand before ourselves, our Gods, our Friends and Family – we stand to fight!” She gripped her axe and threw it into the air. “For Odin, for Queen Raenisa, For Princess Amara, for the blood of my axe and the scream of my beard!” She pumped her axe “Our enemy shall bleed tonight!!” The vikings shouted in unison. After many hoorahs the group split.
The strongest viking warriors stayed to lead the shield wall and protection of the city. Two groups remained, the shield maidens with Yvette and Amara – for the mountainy camp to the east. Tora had the remaining warriors and few rangers for the northern camp…
“Yvette, Amara… fight strong” she hugged Yvette. Tora approached Amara and grasped her hand – she kissed the knuckles of Amara and bowed her head “Show them no mercy” she nodded and then stepped away. Her and her men gathered their things and quickly marched towards the mountain pass that lead to the northern hills...

Amara looked to Tora, “I...hope she will be okay...the goddess was not forthcoming of her condition.” She spoke and looked away as she tried to hold back her emotions. Now was not the time. She had to remain strong. The princess looked to Tora as the woman held her hands up, she raised a brow slightly but she did as Tora asked. She took in the deep breaths and closed her eyes. It centered her. It calmed her. She nodded and then listened to the Seer. “It is good that they’ve kept them in the dark, this will truly be a surprise, hm?” Amara spoke as she gave a grin. “Oh the beacon yes….um...” She thumbed through a few papers. “The scouts confirmed that this morning.” She held up the letter. “Mother forgot to tell you hm?” She smirked slightly. “I got it from her desk this morning while you two were practicing.” She spoke as she looked to the small map she’d drawn. “I was thinking of placing the war field there as well.” She grinned. Amara was ready to fight, especially now after what happened to the city.
“We will corner them, and take each and every single one of them down.” She nodded. “I’ll gather my guard and meet you in the plains.” She smiled, “We will knock King Alexander off his pedestal and show him the true strength of Armalon.”
**
The queen lay in her bed, her skin still pale. Her eyes cracked open, the amber color was dull. “Tor-a...” She breathed. The queen gazed up to Tora after the gentle kisses, a soft smile upon her lips. She listened to the woman speak, her eyes tired. She fought to stay awake. As Tora handed her the orb the weakly took it into her hand. “Tora...be...careful...there is an officer...he...summoned...Fefnir...” The queen was having a difficult time speaking, her voice was barely a whisper. The queen gazed to Tora with soft eyes. “Fight strong….” She spoke as Tora took her second glance to her. The queen’s eyes fluttered as she fell back asleep.
**
The princess had gathered her guard, she paced back and forth. “Tonight. We will turn the tides on King Alexander and his knights. We have suffered for far too long beneath the shadow that he has cast over Armalon. We will not sit and wait beneath the shadow any longer.” The princess spoke with a strong voice. “Look at what he has done to us today!” She held her hand up. Some smoke still rose from the city. “He unleashed a dragon upon our people that our queen stopped, she nearly died to protect you. So we will fight with everything we have and give ourselves to our gods to judge!” She received a cheer from the rangers and guard that stood before her.
“Rhys and Captain Eldrin will hold the city and keep it safe. We know this much, the humans plan on attacking tonight. They believe we are weak and broken. But we will show them that we are stronger together with our new allies!” The princess continued, a roar of approval came from her soldiers. “Tonight we will destroy their camps as they march upon our city and as they make to attack us we will attack them from behind. We will cut King Alexander off at his knees!” They once again cheered for the princess, cheering her name even. Others yelled for Armalon. The princess grinned as she sectioned them into three groups. She left a group behind and the other two she had followed her down the walkway that led to the plains.
As they arrived her guard split into the two groups and Amara stepped forward to Tora. She watched as the vikings and her own guard cheered along with Tora’s war cries. It was almost overwhelming. The princess gazed to Tora as the woman kissed the back of her hand. “Fight strong, and come back so that we may celebrate this victory together.” She reached forward and pulled Tora into a tight embrace.
With that the princess turned and nodded to Yvette. “We will head to the east camp. I’ll show you the route. There is a way through the mountains that they will not suspect. It will give us an advantage on our attack.” She spoke as she began to lead them in the direction of the battle. They moved through the mountains and through the thick snow as night fell upon them. Amara held her hand up as they crested a hill, she could see the light from the fire above. “We will signal them to attack. Then we will attack the basecamp.” She nodded to Yvette.

Tora left to the north with the small army behind her. They climbed a mountain passage and came upon the rolling hills. They travelled for some time – they watched the sun hide behind the mountains and bring darkness. She looked to the mountain in the distance – the one that signaled to attack… her eyes followed its lights to the camp they were to attack. It was hillside across the low valley.
As they came to the campsite – her people quietly entered the village in the night. They cut into the tents and entered the backs, the vikings quietly killed those in their sleep… one couple while they fucked, and another that spooned peacefully. Within minutes viking walked the paths and plucked people off. Now only screams were heard as remaining people rounded the corner to either a bloodied Viking, or a dead body… then nothing. The camp was cleared with ease.
“Okay, just when the moon above us directly – we signal for the beacon to flash for the attack.. and return to the castle...” she nodded “30 minutes to sack the place” she waved to her Viking. Tora thought for a moment and then gasped – she rushed forward to one of her men. “Did we come across any commanders?” she questioned. One of the viking looked around and nodded no.
“Damnit” she grit her teeth. The Queen spoke of a commander who summoned the dragon, it wasn’t at her camp… she sucked in a breath and let it go slowly. “Amara… just… don’t die” she shook her head and prayed softly to her Gods. After a moment she paced and stepped outside… soon she would gather and return back to the castle…

Amara turned and looked to Yvette. “Alright.” She spoke. “We take them quietly. We will order their attack, kill everyone upon the mountain and then Tora’s group will intercept those from the eastern camp.” She spoke as she seemed to ready herself. The princess slipped through the night as though she’d performed such an invasion thousands of times. She scaled one of the towers and slit the throat of the watch, his blood pooled and dripped to the ground below. Amara pulled her bow and in quick succession she loaded it and loosed three arrows. All found their mark in the heart of a knight as they tiredly walked around the signal camp. She watched as the vikings went in through the back of the tents and silently slit the throats of those that were sleeping. In all the camp had less than 30 in it. But Amara knew not many would be stationed here, it was merely for signaling between the two camps. She climbed the signal tower and gazed over both camps. She watched as the smoke from each camp rose into the skies. Her eyes then moved to look to the castle in the far distance. It seemed so small from this view...she could see some smoke rising from the city still. “I’ll protect you, we will end this war.” She whispered under her breath as she grasped the beacon. Three long flashes of fire, followed by two short and two long. That was the signal for attack that her scouts had learned. She gazed down the mountainside toward the eastern camp. No one seemed to move.
Amara stayed there for several minutes, waiting. Her brows furrowed. She climbed down the tower, “I don’t understand. They were to attack tonight. Why are they not marching?” She spoke as she walked passed Yvette. “We take their camp, now.” She ordered the group as she took off down the mountain through the thick of the forest. Amara knew her way about a forest better than some of the rangers. It was impressive for a princess to be so skilled. As the group approached the camp she could hear the movement of the knights.
“We’re going to murder those pointy eared rats tonight! Tonight we take that castle for our king!” A male voice called out. “Tonight we show them that we are far superior!” There was a cheer from the men. “We’ve waited a long time for this. But tonight we will bring death to their doorsteps!”
Amara grit her teeth as she shifted and pulled her bow. She felt a hand upon her shoulder. One of the rangers shook his head at her. The princess drew in a breath and nodded to him. She couldn’t let her anger cause her to make a grave mistake. She looked about through the soldiers. They were different than those of the past. Several wore red capes that hung off to the side. As the knights clad in normal armor marched off in a platoon of fifty or so...the caped men stayed behind along with plenty more soldiers. They truly were overconfident. They didn’t even send their entire platoon to attack. But then again they expected the other camps to send men as well. They laughed and clicked their mugs together. Amara shifted and pulled a bag of poison from her pouch. Her ranger grasped at her shoulder. She shook her head at him. “If I get in any trouble. Shield wall...and well will mow right over them.” She whispered before she rushed off into the shadows.
The night seemed to wrap around Amara with open arms. “Vandria...give me strength.” She breathed as she found the barrels of ale. She poured the poison into the barrel and quickly replaced the cork. Her eyes widened slightly as she slipped down behind the barrels.
The heavy footsteps of a man clad in armor came toward her. The sound of ale pouring into a mug filled Amara’s ears. The man cleared his throat. “Do you think the King will appoint one of us to regent?” He questioned as he tilted the barrel forward to get the ale.
“With any luck, Bennet will become the Regent of this area. He is the one with the strongest blood magic. We will need it to infiltrate the dragon’s nest.” Another man spoke. “We will kill each and every one and gain their magic.” A laugh came from the man. “Where is Bennet?” He questioned. “I need to congratulate him on the attack earlier.” The man’s footsteps led away.
“I believe he is celebrating in his tent with that lady of his.” The man chuckled as he followed the other man away.
Amara let out a shaken breath as she moved about the camp. She poisoned several other barrels, she even poured a dusting of poison over the grain barrel. She moved like a shadow, not once was she noticed. Amara sat in the shadows, she lifted her crystal hues and gave the motion to those within the forest to slip into the camp and take out everyone silently. She moved her bow around and she swiftly moved through the camp. Amara loosed an arrow that landed between the eyes of one of the men. She continued on. As she rounded the corner she was grasped by her throat and slammed against one of the wooden pylons. Amara found herself staring to a shirtless man that had a full beard, a glowing red came to his eyes as he looked to her. “Princess.” He spoke and a cackle came over his lips. “How polite you are to come to me.” He gripped tighter.
Amara scrambled she grabbed her dagger but he ripped it from her hand and smeared the blood from his hand over her cheek. She let out a stifled cry as she gripped onto him. Ice began to form upon his arms as she fought to breathe. The giant man let out a groan as he dropped her and took a few steps back. “You’ll pay for that princess.” He hissed as he formed a ball of fire within his hands. He tossed it at the princess. Amara held her hand up, a shield of ice formed and blocked the attack. The man snarled as he looked to her. “Why can’t you just die you filthy pointy eared brat!” He threw another fireball, this one was much larger and it pushed her back. Before Amara knew it they were in the center of the camp. The man snickered as he lifted his hands up a circle of flames formed upon the ground around them.
“You’re letting your greed control you!” Amara cried as she blocked another attack. She watched as he pulled his sword and it lit with flames as well. “Our people and your people long ago did not quarrel.” She dodged an attack. Though Bennet came at her with another attack which Amara blocked with her bow. His sword cut clean through the bow. But it gave her enough time to get out of the way of the attack. She rolled to the side and scrambled back.
The hulking figure lunged forward and grasped Amara as a cackle came from his lips. He lifted her up into the air by her neck. “You’ll die tonight. As will your queen. I’ll extinguish your kind with Fafnir. Would you like to see it?” He questioned with a wicked grin. The fires around them grew stronger, the heat was overwhelming to the princess.
“You won’t be killing anyone tonight.” A female voice spoke. Vandria walked through the wall of flames, a smirk upon her lips. “Speak my name, Amara.” She spoke as she looked to the struggling princess.
Bennet cackled as he looked to her. “Another pointy eared rat for me to kill? This night just keeps getting better.” He looked back to the princess a moment before he looked back to Vandria. “I’ll finish the princess first, then I’ll happily kill you. Hm?” He brought his sword forward to stab into the princess. Vandria held her hand forward and as the blade made contact with the princess it began to shatter. It shattered all the way to the hilt of the blade. The officer pulled the hilt back and stared to where his blade had once been.
“Vandria….” Amara managed to choke out as Bennet’s grip loosened upon her.
Vandria grinned as the princess spoke her name again. She slipped forward and grasped Amara’s hand as the man still held her up. “Speak with me Amara.” She began to speak in the ancient tongue.
Bennet tried to hit both of the women, but he found that their was a barrier over them. He snarled and dropped Amara, Vandria held her up as the two continued to speak. A light began to shine from Amara as the spell was continued. “What are you doing?!” He exclaimed as he took several steps back.
There was a loud roar from the skies. From what appeared to be ashes a dragon appeared with large horns and huge red wings. The princess stood the light still shone from her body, like a beacon of hope in the night. She continued speaking with Vandria, as if she’d heard the spell a thousand times. Yet, this was the first time she’d heard such a thing. The dragon flew down upon the camp and then floated just outside of it. The wings beat as it looked to the camp. Amara’s eyes began to flutter but Vandria merely gripped her hand. The huge dragon allowed a blue burst of power to come from his mouth. Each and everyone of Amara’s companions were surrounded in a barrier as the heat of the dragon’s magic ripped through the camp, turning it to nothing but ash. Amara watched with wide eyes as the flesh was burned from the officer before her and then his bones crumbled before her eyes. The dragon shot into the skies and it flew to the signal camp and a blast of power came from the dragon. Then he destroyed the other camp as well.
The dragon then flew back to the eastern camp and hovered over where Amara was a moment before it shot up into the skies and disappeared. Amara was breathless as she crumbled to her knees. Her eyes glowed a bright blue for a long moment before it disappeared. “Well done. Now, finish the others, Amara.” Vandria spoke before the woman disappeared. The princess fought to catch her breath. Her body trembled as she pushed herself to her feet. She gazed to the destruction around her. A ranger rushed forward and steadied her. “Bahamut...” Amara breathed as she collapsed into him. “We...have to...get to the others...where is Yvette…?”

Tora stood in the center of the village – she paused and stared forward to a burning brazier…
A huge dragon twisted in the sky as he dove from the highest clouds downward. He barreled through the white puffs and opened his mouth. He flipped and hovered for a moment – power drew in his gaping teeth and blast forward. The huge blast of power surged towards Tora. As the blast came closer and closer – Tora stared to herself through her own vision…
Tora looked up to the sky and seconds later she saw it, a speck in the distance… a flying purple energy that came her way. She held her hands up as the blast came to her… when it hit – a huge wave of power blast forward, light surrounded her. She expected pain… but there was nothing. Some barrier surrounded her – she watched the blast settle before her.. the little village was blasted to bits, but her people remained.
Tora’s mouth dropped – what was this? She looked to the dragon who flew downward towards the burning camp. She rushed forward and held a hand out into the air, her eye began to glow brightly – “Take me to her” she called out and turned to one of the Vikings that was near. “March back to the castle, as soon as possible. Go!” She called out. Just as she did – she was snatched from the ground. Bahamut wrapped his claw around her and beat his wings with strength, they were already a mile away in just a blink of an eye…
Tora gripped onto Bahamut’s giant claw and fought for breath, they moved so swiftly she could hardly breath. She glanced downward to the blurr of green trees, they swerved upward and followed a mountain side, until Tora saw smoke in the distance. All of her vision would be visible through the orb…
Bahamut let out a cry into the air – and then he suddenly vanished into blue dust. Tora instantly began falling out of the sky – she looked around and then grit her teeth. She held her axe into the air and it glowed bright blue – she then pointed it and lightning directed from the sky, through her axe, and then landed on the mountain side. She instantly hit the ground with a single knee – landing with the lightning strike. The earth rumbled to her arrival…
Tora stood – she was before Amara. Tora quickly rushed forward and squeezed her hand under Amara’s head, lifting her from the ranger. “Yvette” she called out as she held the Princess in her arms now. “Lead the warriors to the Kingdom, be ready to attack – we need to move now” she spoke and looked to the Princess. “She is fine, she is breathing… that was a lot of power… she summoned Bahamut..” she whispered, speaking to the Queen now. Tora had heard of Bahamut in tales, the dragon who ate Fenrir in the battle on the back of Jormungandr, the Midgard Serpent…
Tora set Amara down slowly on the ground and she placed a hand upon the woman’s chest. “Raenisa…” she spoke, calling upon the Queen – who would be watching. “Focus on my voice” her eye began to glow. “Touch the orb” she spoke and then slowly let out a breath. A beam of blue magic shot from her eye and touched the Princess. “Now heal your daughter, she needs your strength” she spoke. She felt her body swell with power – she fought to control it, maintain it, she channeled it into Amara…
Tora sat upward and watched the Princess come to. The Viking and Rangers were ordered to march and they already got a head start. There was a thudding sound – then a huff. Tora glanced upward to see an all white horse standing before them, with golden glowing eyes. The horse had 8 total legs, it was giant with golden and silver armor its head sides. “Sleipnir…” Tora’s mouth dropped wide, the steed of Odin…
Tora stood and helped Amara up, she stepped to the horse who neighed. Tora climbed onto the back of the horse, sitting perfectly upon his back. She pulled Amara up and grasped the reigns “Thank you, Odin” she slapped the reigns and the horse jumped forward. It made huge strides and ran with insane speed. The rumbling of the 8 hooves was like battle drums doing off, it echoed in the mountains like thunder in the far distance…
As Tora caught up with her people – the horse jumped into the air and took flight. He continued to gallop in the air as they blazed forward. She could see both of her armies grouping up. In front of the gates of the Castle walls was a war already beginning – Alexanders men rushed forward. A wall of Vikings held the front with their shields… the sheer number of Alexander soldiers was unreal…
They flew over the fight and Tora landed at the castle gates. “Amara – stay strong” she let the woman off. Tora turned the horse around and drew her axe, she then turned and rushed into the battle. The horse knocked many over – Tora leaned down and sliced with her axe, beheading one soldier, she mowed through and plowed the armies like they were ants…

The queen had regained some of her strength and stood upon her balcony, her eyes gazing to the mountains where the war was to be fought. She gazed to the orb. “My queen. You should not be out of bed.” The apothecary stepped onto the balcony. “You need rest...” He shook his head as the woman looked to him and shook her head. “In the least drink this tea.” He spoke and then stepped away. The queen sipped upon the tea as her eyes moved from the mountains to the orb. She saw the vision, it made her head ache to see it. She grit her teeth slightly. “No….he’s going to summon another dragon.” She gasped as her eyes lifted. She could see it in the distance. The great blue ring of power that brought the dragon into this realm. She could see the beam of power as it came from the dragon’s mouth. The queen dropped the mug of tea and it shattered upon the balcony. Her hand gripped the railing, her eyes couldn’t pull from the orb now. “Tora...Amara...” She breathed, fear in her voice. There was nothing she could do.
She watched as the blast of power hurled toward Tora, the queen prepared for the worst...but something happened then...Tora was protected. The queen lifted her hues to look to the huge dragon that floated above the camps. She breathed quickly as she watched though Tora’s eye. She watched as the woman was grasped by the huge claws of the dragon and whisked away in moments. When Bahamut disappeared her eyes widened, fear gripped her as Tora plummeted from the skies. “No!” She cried, but just as she did Tora saved herself with a bolt of lightening. Her jaw was loose as she watched this all unfold. “Amara...” She breathed. She was gripping the orb with both hands now. She gazed to her daughter whom had been transferred into Tora’s arms, her body limp, her nose bled...it was a massive amount of power. For someone to summon such a thing. “Bahamut...” The queen whispered, she thought it to be so. But she couldn’t get a close enough look at the dragon. It was incredible. Her daughter possessed the same strength that she was afraid to use. “I’m here...” Raenisa spoke into the orb. She focused in on Tora’s voice and closed her eyes. She gripped onto the orb with both hands. A soft blue glow began to come from her hands. It sank into the orb like a liquid into the dirt.
The queen breathed deeply, she could feel the power pulling from her body into the orb, syphoning into Amara. The woman stumbled as she made her way back to the bed. She nearly collapsed as she saw Amara’s eyes crack open. “Amara...” She breathed as she sat on the edge of the bed. The apothecary quickly helped the queen into her bed as he began working on another tea.
**
The princess’ eyes fluttered open, she coughed slightly, a bit of blood came up in her mouth. Her eyes found Tora and a broken laugh came from her. “We’ve nearly won.” She whispered. “Cut King Alexander off at his knees...” She got up with Tora’s help and then smiled to her. “Thank you.” She nodded and glanced around, almost as if she expected to see someone. “I heard...my mother’s voice...” She furrowed her brows. “Was that you?” She questioned. Confused. Though there was no time for questions as the thundering of hooves approached. She turned her hues to see Sleipnir. Her jaw dropped as she took in the giant steed.
Amara climbed atop the horse and gripped upon the horn as Tora climbed on behind her. “Odin?” She questioned and glanced to Tora a moment before they took off with great speed. The princess smiled as she felt the rush of air around them. When they took flight her eyes widened and a laugh escaped her lips. Though the laugh quickly faded when she saw the number of soldiers that Alexander had sent. It was far more than the camps held. They must have marched into the kingdom today. A thousand men at least. When they landed Amara felt herself slip off. “Wait!” She cried but Tora was already gone, headed back into battle.
Amara quickly ran into the castle stables. She grabbed an old bow from the rack and climbed upon her white horse. She pat the side of his shoulder and they took off toward the battle. The princess pulled the bow and she began shooting as they thundered toward the battlefield. She shot the men down one by one as she came at them. “Rangers!” She called out. “Volley!” The rangers upon the wall lit their arrows and a volley of arrows showered into their enemy lighting them a blaze. She grinned as she saw an orb of fat fly into the air. The princess paused a moment as she caught her last arrow on fire and carefully aimed it. As she released the arrow she was ripped from her steed. As she fell to the ground she saw the shower of flames break out over the enemy knights.
The princess struggled as she was tugged along. She fought to breath, whomever grabbed her had her by the back of her chest piece. She gripped around her neck, pulling it from her. She choked as she reached with her free hand to her dagger. She pulled it from her hip and slammed it into the thigh of the man. Instantly she was released as she ripped the blade back. She took in heavy breaths as she fell to the ground, only to quickly scramble to her feet. The yells of war sounded around her. An officer stood before her. The man grinned. He was covered in blood from killing her people. He lashed forward with his sword that blasted a wave of wind toward her. She was knocked back. The princess grit her teeth as she fell to her back. The huge soldier placed his boot upon her chest and pressed down. “What now princess?” He snickered as he raised his sword up to bring it down upon her. As he brought the blade down the princess held her arms up, an icy shield formed and deflected the attack. Though Amara gasped for air as he pressed more of his weight into her.

Tora barreled through the piles of men, the soldiers fell like butter. They fell over just from the sight of the huge horse, and her axes finished them off. She turned the horse around and plowed forward. Thundering of hooves grew louder as she laid eyes upon the Princess. Before the officer could do a thing – his head landed on the ground in a plopping manner. Tora reached down and grasped Amara with strength and threw her upward – to land behind her on the horse.
“Nice Ice” Tora spoke and the sky became dark and thick with clouds. “Tell me, what can you do with a hundred water droplets?” she questioned and glanced back to her briefly with a grin. It began to rain from the skies, a command Tora had come to learn. “Show no mercy!” Tora called out and drew her horn. The horse came to a stop, they stood at the gates of the Kingdom. Tora put her horn to her lips and blew a long deep note.
Every Viking roared – they seem to frenzy forward, they all rushed forward, breaking away from their shield wall. Easily hundreds of knights fell to the sudden swarm. Tora spied their Commander, he sat in the far back of the army upon a horse. Tora squinted her brows together and began to head his way. The Commander looked across the field and spied Tora as well – he swiftly turned his horse and began to run towards the forest. With his motion – several other Generals followed suit, a crowd of 10 Alexander nights began to ride away, running from battle.
Tora held her axe forward and lightning struck directly infront of the generals. “Slow them down!” She called to Amara, who sat behind her still. She slapped the reigns and the horse ran even faster… “Let me handle the Commander” she spoke behind grit teeth. She was covered head to toe with blood, it crusted on her face and chest. From afar she looked like a crimson rider, upon some wild giant horse – in truth, she made them tremble.

Amara gasped as she pushed against the knight, tears welled in her eyes as she fought to hold on. Suddenly she was hoisted from danger and onto the back of the thundering steed. Amara gripped onto Tora as she took in deep breaths, gasping for air. “Tora...” She breathed. She listened to the woman as the Seer looked to her with a grin. What could she do with rain? Amara had never tried to do anything with rain before. The thought had never crossed her mind. She sucked in a breath as she focused her mind. As the rain began to fall Amara gazed up to the skies. Her eyes began to glow a light blue and the rain turned to ice, though the rain formed into pins of ice that fell like spears onto the field. Many knights began to fall as they were pierced by the weapon. The princess kept her focus as more and more of the knights fell to either the ice or the vikings, or even the arrows of her rangers.
The princess focused her hues in on the commanders that turned tail to run as Tora called to her to slow them down. Amara looked to the 10 or so knights that fled her hues still glowed. “I’ll stop them.” She spoke as she rose her hand to the skies. She soon gripped a spear of ice in her hand that glowed blue. She focused and threw it forward. It arched through the air with precision and landed just before the group of knights. As it hit the ground it burst in both directions and a wall of ice formed. A few of the men slammed into it and fell from their horses. Amara let out a chuckle, “That slow them down enough?” She asked, her eyes still glowed. She jumped down from the horse as they got closer. She pulled her dagger from her hip and she began to engage with the knights. She slipped around them and easily slit throats and stabbed into the chest of another. She ripped a sword from another attacker and turned his sword upon him, stabbing into his stomach. The princess showed no mercy. Blood began to cover her just as it did Tora. She let out a yell as she sliced into another man. Her crystal hues turned upon the last man standing, the commander. “All you Tora.” She called out as she looked to the man.

Tora grinned as the rain become ice – which sliced and targeted, like molten bullets through any armor. She felt an odd sense of pride “Let them face Hel!” She shouted and laughed as she smacked the reigns harder. Tora grinned as she felt Amara move – she watched the icy spear launch forward. She was in awe of her power….
Tora jumped from the horse and charged forward with two axes. She caught one man with a parry, she kicked in his knee and he crumpled in pain, crying aloud. Tora did not even finish him off, she stepped over his withered body and took to the next. As she lunged forward with an attack – she spied Amara attacking. She grinned and turned back towards her victim, who she killed with an axe to the gut. The knight’s insides fell out of his stomach and he scrambled forward.
Tora looked up and grinned, the Commander stood with his sword in hand. “I’ll kill you myself, you savage -” he cried out. Tora tilted her head and stepped forward. For every step she took – the Commander took a step backwards.
Tora smirked and she threw her axe forward. Her axe stabbed into his cloak and pinned him to the ground. Before he could get out of his cloak – Tora grasped him by the throat and slammed him against a tree. “Ayee” she grinned and threw his helmet off. Her Common was weak – her words were broken and rough. “Tell you bitch-ass King Alexander… the Viking face him” she spat, with a few of her own Viking tongue mixed in. She lunged and cut his arm off from the elbow. She then slapped his back and pushed him back towards his horse. “Go tell your King, Tora said fuck – you” all she knew was mostly curse words, the only thing to know.
Tora turned and grinned as she looked to Amara “Kill the rest of them” she ordered and then jumped onto her horse once more. She rode forward and rejoined the fight – the battlefield was riddled with dead soldiers, they were destroyed… Tora finally stood at the gates, she was completely covered in blood, her hair was matted down… the only thing that stuck out were the whites of her eyes and pink of her lips.
“The Queen is saved!” Tora shouted. She walked through the gates of the city and continued to should it. People joined in and followed, until soon there was a giant mass of people standing in the square of the castle. They looked upward to the Queen’s tower, she could be seen standing at her balcony. “The Queen is Saved, Long Live the Queen! The Queen is Saved! Long Live the Queen!” her people shouted, the Vikings shouted, the city cheered for their queen, for their Kingdom, for each other. Finally – Tora pulled her horn and blew it and everyone cheered loudly…
The people began to disperse, Tora stood at the gate of the castle… Her eyes looked to the city, and she saw something. She saw the people of the city welcoming Viking. They put up tables swiftly in the court yard – the people began to fill it with food. Soon enough Vikings came with their meats too, and ale. The courtyard of the castle became one huge celebration, the city invited themselves to celebrate with the Viking. And so they did.
Tora smirked as she watched it play out before her eyes, something she never thought could happen. Hoever, she awaited for Amara – surely they both would clean up and confront the Queen… Tora wanted to be the first to tell Raenisa how great Amara did, and how proud she should be… something in her wanted that the most.

Amara turned her hues to the Commander as he backed away from Tora in fear. “She’s no savage. Look at yourself. Look at what you’ve done to my people.” The princess spat as she stepped forward to join Tora. “You can tell Alexander that Armalon is coming for him, and that we will show no mercy.” Amara spoke as she stared to him. One of the knights crawled along the ground. He coughed as he tried to breathe. Amara stepped to him and placed her foot upon his back. “Huh...familiar.” She spoke as she looked down to the man. The one that had held her down upon the ground. She reached down and pulled his sword from his hand. “Don’t you think you should meet your end swiftly? Without suffering?” She questioned as she leaned down. The man coughed up blood from an injury he sustained. Amara smirked to him, she could see the fear in his eyes. Amara set his sword to the side as she knelt down next to him. She pulled her dagger and she slowly ran it across his throat. She then stood as she listened to the sound of him choking on his own blood.
The princess then turned and ran back to the battle. She fought alongside her rangers and warriors. She screamed with the vikings. Blood splattered across her body and face. She rushed through the city with all of the other vikings, shouting alongside them. “Long live the queen!” She grinned as she held her bow up in the air. Amara walked up the stairs of the castle as everyone began to gather. She looked to them and then looked to Tora, a smirk upon her lips. “Look at us.” She spoke a laugh came from her. “Look at everyone.” She shook her head slightly. “This...I know this is just the beginning...I know that King Alexander will truly throw his forces at us now...but look at how well we work alongside one another. Tora...you and your people are incredible on the battlefield!” She exclaimed, high from the battle. “We should clean up, and celebrate with everyone.” Amara spoke as she pat Tora’s shoulder. “Thank you.” She spoke as she walked into the castle.
**
The queen stood upon her balcony as the battle began to draw to a close. She held the orb in her hands, but as she heard the chant from the orb, she began to hear it echo through the city. A smile curved up her lips as she saw her people extending their hospitality to the vikings and the vikings happily joining in. She grinned as she saw this. “One day, we will all live together...and this time will just be something of the past...” She spoke.
“My queen...how are you feeling?” The apothecary held a mug of tea in his hands. “Another?” He questioned.
The queen took the tea and smiled to the doctor. “Much better now that you have helped me.” She spoke as she took the mug from him. “See to it that Tora and Amara are both cared for. I’m certain we will soon be thrown deeper into this war than we have been in the past 20 years. But now...I have hope...no...” She shook her head and then looked to the apothecary once again. “I am certain that our people will come out of this stronger than ever before with our new allies.” She nodded and then stumbled slightly.
“My queen.” Liliana rushed forward and caught her as she nearly fell. She looked to the doctor and nodded to him. “I can take over from here, Ramul.” She bowed her head to him as she helped the queen back into her room. “You’ve had quite the day, my queen.” Liliana spoke as she set the mug of tea at the bedside. “Would you prefer an elixir? I can make one.”
“Yes, Liliana that would be wonderful. Could you make one for Tora and Amara as well?” She questioned as she lay within the silky sheets of her bed. The queen let out a soft sigh as she settled into the bed. “Thank you, Liliana.” She spoke softly as she heard the woman leaving the room.
**
A servant from within the castle walked up to Tora. “Seer.” She bowed deeply. “I am Iyla. The queen has asked me to assist you in anyway that you may...need...” The woman looked to the blood that was soaked upon Tora’s attire. “I will provide you with fresh clothing so that you may enjoy the celebrations. Come along.” The young elf turned and led Tora into the castle.

Tora laughed with Amara and followed her into the castle. She looked to the servant that approached her, she raised a brow and glanced to Amara briefly. “Uh – sure, I guess. Some clothing might be nice” she smiled weakly and sighed. She entered the guest bath house – and she was impressed. It was a huge room with a large fire that brewed their water for the bath.
She helped Lyla pour the buckets of water into the tub. “I don’t need anything else, just some clothing and you are relieved” she spoke and she pulled her own armor from her body. “Oh, maybe yeah – clean these” she chuckled and set her bloodied cloak that was once white as snow. Soon enough she shed her clothing and she stepped into the large tub. She sighed softly as she soaked in – then she chuckled to herself. “Are you still here?” She questioned softly “There will be plenty for you later...” she shut her orb off and leaned back into the water…
She soaked for a bit and then climbed out. She did a single braid down her head, but allowed most of her hair to breath and flow. She pulled up a tunic and tilted her head, she slid it on and then pulled the pants on – she was glad Lyla knew not to bring her a dress. She fashioned a belt about her waist and sheathed both of her axes. She was still decently mascaline, but the clothing brought out her girlish figure, which was normally hidden by layers of leathers…
Tora stepped out of the bath room and made her way down the hall, she walked past the Queens room and paused. She sucked in a breath – she heard someone approaching the door. She quickly hid behind the door as it opened – Liliana, to her luck turned and did not notice Tora. She released her breath and slipped inside the doors before it could settle.
Tora quietly snuck into the bedroom – she looked to the Mug the Queen had, the Elixer within in. Tora lifted a gaze and she approached the bedside “Feeling alright?” she questioned and sat at the end of the bed. “I have something much stronger than that – can take the edge right off” she winked and sighed heavily. “So, how does it feel – long live the queen, hm?” she smirked and leaned back so she fell into the bed next to Raenisa. She nuzzled her forehead into the Queen’s shoulder and sighed softly. “Did you see – that dragon Amara summoned?” she questioned softly “Bahamut...”

Amara chuckled as she walked off with her own servant, “Just relish in it, Tora. It isn’t everyday that you get spoiled, is it?” She laughed. “Don’t worry, Lyla won’t bring you a dress.” She winked as she climbed the stairs and disappeared into the castle.
**
Lyla looked to the bloodied gear. She gave a smile and a nod to Tora. “I will get this good as new for you. You’ll never know that a speck of blood touched it.” She spoke. “I will place it in your chamber once I am finished. It shouldn’t take terribly long. I do apologize that we do not have clothing that you are used to. I do hope that what I have chosen for you is comfortable enough for the meantime.” The servant bowed and then moved from the room swiftly.
**
The queen set the orb on her bedside table, her eyes heavy as she awaited Liliana to return with her Elixir. Her eyes opened briefly as she heard Tora’s voice, a soft chuckle came over her lips as her hues gazed to the orb for a moment before it turned off. Raenisa drifted in and out of consciousness until Liliana returned with the Elixir. As the door clicked open the queen opened her eyes. “Here you are my Queen.” Liliana spoke as she set the mug down next to the bed. She helped the queen sit up and lean against the head rest. “I will let you rest.” Liliana spoke as she searched the eyes of the woman a long moment. “The elixir should help.” She gave a gentle smile before she turned to leave.
“Liliana, Thank you.” Raenisa spoke as she wrapped her fingers around the mug and leaned her head back. Even the scent of the elixir made her feel better. She had felt as though she had clouds in her mind. She sipped from the mug and closed her eyes as she listened to Liliana leave the room. She heard the door click shut a second time, her eyes remained closed though a smile curved up her lips as she opened her eyes. “I was beginning to wonder how long it would take you to come.” She gave a soft chuckle. Her amber hues gazed to Tora a long moment. “I will be well, this drink will help. I have not used my magic in such a way before...it is quite taxing on the body...” She spoke as she looked to Tora. The next comment from the woman caused the queen to blush deeply. “Hm perhaps that will help the clouds clear from my mind? Or could it make me more foggy? The amount of times the light flashed before my eyes the other night, I’m not so sure.” She smirked to Tora as a playful chuckle came over her lips, her cheeks still rosy red.
Raenisa smiled as Tora fell onto the bed next to her. She leaned and kissed the top of the woman’s head and leaned toward her slightly before she took a sip of the elixir. “I did. I saw Bahamut all the way from the castle. Then I saw him through your vision.” She paused a long moment, thinking. “I’ve only read of him. The great dragon that ended the most violent war in the history of this world. My ancestors summoned him. But he has not been summoned since he leveled the entire enemy continent...it allowed my ancestors to gain freedom...to imagine the amount of power it took to summon him.” Raenisa smiled as she looked to Tora. “Amara looked so sure of herself. Didn’t she? She didn’t look afraid. Not once. I was so terrified that she would be horrified by the battlefield and...she seems to fit right in, she seemed to take to it as if she had been there many times before.”
The queen finished the elixir and she shifted so that she lay upon Tora’s abdomen. She looked to the woman with a smile. “You know Tora, elven clothing doesn’t look too horrible on you.” She smirked slightly. “I’m sure Lyla will have your leathers and furs fixed right up for you.” She paused a moment. “My family has a history of incredibly strong mages...to be honest...I’ve been afraid of my magic...I’m not certain why...but I haven’t used it like I did today to stop Fefnir. I called upon the gods for help and...the goddess of war helped guide me. She may have helped Amara as well. They say only those gifted by the gods can call upon Bahamut and control him. Anyone whom tries to control him without the gift of the gods will perish among their people by his fiery breath.” She shifted slightly. “That’s what the books say at least.” She gave a gentle smile. “You know of Bahamut too...what do you know of the dragon?” She shifted and lay on her back, her head still on Tora’s abdomen. She gazed up to the ceiling. “You fought really well today. I’m sure you know that. But...it was incredible to watch the way you move on the battlefield and to see Amara fighting alongside you.” She had a smile upon her lips as she spoke. “Long live the queen, eh?” She smirked to Tora slightly. “It has a nice ring to it, I suppose. But it is Armalon that I wish to save, not myself.”
