Sehanine watched as Tora stood and gazed upon the beauty of Yggdrasil. “Is it everything you’ve dreamed?” She questioned. The goddess let out a sort of chuckle as she watched Tora step toward her mother. “Even your mother deserved Valhalla.” She spoke as she followed behind Tora. When Raenisa’s voice cut into the world the goddess merely chuckled. “Which is it that you want?” She questioned. “Peace? Freedom.” The goddess stepped closer to Tora, “Or shall you return to the prison that is the land of the living.” The whites of her eyes could be seen now with how close the goddess was to Tora. She heard the queen speak once again and the goddess shifted and turned slightly toward the sound. “Or is it truly a prison now? Things have changed for you. Haven’t they Seer?”
As Tora grasped the goddess by her collar she merely chuckled once again. Her hand gripped upon Tora’s runes raced up the Viking’s arm. “Do I know what you have to do? Really?” She toyed and merely laughed once again as Tora shook her. Sehanine gripped onto Tora and gazed deeply into her eyes. “Then go back.” She spoke, her voice a bit darker than before, she laughed once again from beneath the mask. Her eyes were a bright blue like the sky had been before it began to rain. “Go back to where you belong, Tora Vyarson.” She disappeared into a puff of dust as Tora shoved her to the ground. The sky filled with a dark storm as the scene disappeared.
**
“Come back. Please.” Raenisa sobbed as she stood with her hands upon the altar. “Let her come back, Sehanine!” She cried as she leaned against the altar. The runes upon the altar took on a blue glow. A flash of light formed and Raenisa stood, frozen. Her eyes stared into the blue hues of Sehanine. She felt the woman’s grip upon her throat.
“Queen Raenisa Vamaer of Armalon.” The goddess spoke in a low tone as she gripped onto the woman. “You called her back.” She chuckled as she leaned closer. “You do not take souls from me. I take souls from you.” She warned with a chuckle. “Perhaps I shall show you. Soon enough, my queen.” The goddess moved her eyes over Raenisa’s shoulder a moment as the queen continued to choke from her grip, her eyes fluttered slightly, her knees grew weak. “Hm...” She groaned slightly. “Perhaps you have been chosen by Vandria...but that does not concern me.” The goddess released the queen roughly then before she disappeared just as Tora came into the altar room.
Raenisa collapsed forward slightly as she gasped for air. It was then that she heard Tora’s voice. “Tora...” She spun. The queen rushed forward to the Seer and wrapped her arms around her as tears rolled down her cheeks. “You nearly died.” She whispered. “That woman was the goddess of death Sehanine...she nearly took you.” The queen released her, “She was not tempting you. She was reading your soul. She was determining if you should live or die.” The queen had deep bruising around her neck from the goddess’ grip that she’d held upon her.
“The dragon...” The queen leaned against the altar. She looked down to her bloodied hands and then she looked to Tora’s armor. “Yes...yes I believe I know this dragon...” Her mind was a fog from the goddess. Just what was Sehanine threatening? Had Raenisa truly interfered? “She is the dragon queen...she must be Ezzas’ queen.” Raenisa lifted her hues as she heard the howling of the storm outside. “We can reach the caverns from here...” She spoke softly. The queen looked to Tora a long moment. “We must expect Alexander to place another attack...this one...” She shook her head. She couldn’t speak it, tears welled in her eyes as she thought of the scene once again.
**
“Damnit...” The apothecary drew in a breath as he stood over the servant whom had touched the arrow. The servant’s skin was ashen...no matter what the doctor did...it didn’t seem to affect the poison.
“Is he dead?” Rhys questioned as he walked into the medical bay.
The apothecary gave a nod as he drew in a breath. “I must keep trying. The princess is hanging on.” He spoke as he grabbed several bottles of herbs and liquids and he placed them in a wooden crate. “I won’t let her succumb to this.” He rushed through the castle with Rhys in tow. “I’ve never seen a poison like this before...” He walked into the princess’ room and placed the crate upon her desk. He stepped over to her and felt her forehead. “She’s warm again...” He sighed as he looked her over. Liliana had helped change the princess out of her armor and into a night gown. “Hang on princess.”

Tora wrapped her arms around Raenisa “I’m here now” she spoke into the nape of her neck. “I’d take the arrow a hundred times over…” she squeezed her gently and then stepped back. Her hands remained on the shoulders of the Queen – she studied her eyes. “Amara is hurt” she spoke softly, she could see it in Raenisa’s face. Yet – the Queen came rushing for Tora…
“Tell your God to kindly fuck off next time” she spoke a little playfully, though truthfully. Tora reached forward and grazed a finger over the deep bruising of the woman, she pressed her lips together in a thin line and sighed. “She took me to Valhalla” she whispered suddenly. “I saw my.. mother” she almost couldn’t speak it. She never wanted to see it again. She never wanted to see what she gave up, and may never get again. Valhalla was at her fingertips, her brethren and family – her ancestors. She had so many questions for them.
Tora smiled weakly and helped her walk towards the only hallway available. There was a huge door with a seal etched into it, it glowed a gentle blue…as if it was breathing. “The Gods are watching us so damned closely” she muttered. “I’ve never heard of them doing this so much. So many different Gods – piercing my mind.” She shook her head as she peered to the door in awe. “We have to end this, or I will lose myself first. I – maybe, after all of this. Maybe aligning again…” she shook her head. “I can barely think”.
Tora looked upward and watched Raenisa removed the seal. The doors opened slowly, the grinding of the stone vibrated roughly below her boots. “Come on” she spoke and she grasped her hand with her own. She grasped her axe in the other and brought the blade to her lips. She kissed the steel and the carvings in the metal began to glow a bright blue. It served as a torch, light for the passage…

Raenisa gazed into the woman’s eyes. When Tora spoke of Amara the queen looked away slightly. Why had she left her daughter to race to Tora’s side? There was nothing more she could do for Amara. She’d done what she could. She felt it. She felt that Tora was in danger. She knew it. If Raenisa had not come...would the goddess have let her go? Was it a test? She did not have the answer. “Amara was shot with one of the arrows...they held a specific poison...something that we’ve never seen before...I...” Her voice shook slightly as she shook her head. “I did what I could for her before I came for you...I knew you were in trouble.” She searched her eyes.
When Tora touched the bruising the queen winced and brought her hand to touch Tora’s. She gazed into the woman’s hues as she spoke of Valhalla...of her mother. Raenisa had drawn her away from the life that every viking dreamed of. The queen lowered her gaze away from the woman. Truthfully, she felt selfish. She didn’t want Tora to leave. She’d never felt such a strong pull in her life. Even when Lhoris was in danger...when he died...she did not feel the pain within her chest that she felt when she feared that Tora had been taken by the goddess. It was a different pain.
The queen walked with Tora toward the rune sealed doorway. “We sealed this...years ago...after King Alexander’s men killed our late king...” She spoke as she stood before the doorway. “A safe keeping measure...to protect the dragons...sure there are other ways to their home...but this is the easiest and quickest way...” She glanced to Tora as she spoke of the gods. “I have not spoken with the gods for over twenty years...and ever since you’ve come...I can feel them. Even now.” She gazed around. “Sehanine...she said something to me...” She reached up and touched the bruising about her neck again. “She spoke that I was chosen by Vandria...she did not speak of what or why...but...something is at work here...” She glanced to Tora.
Raenisa stepped to Tora and touched her shoulder, she gazed to her a long moment. “I will take you into the fade again. It will calm your mind...this place...” She looked about the temple. “It is our temple of the gods. The energy here is always high. It can add to your confusion.” She spoke before she turned and she touched the Rune. The queen began to speak the spell that would unlock the doorway. Her eyes glowed blue as she used her magic to break the seal. As the doors began to grind and shift Raenisa stepped back. The queen gazed up to the large doors. It wasn’t until Tora spoke and took her hand that she moved. The queen looked to Tora with soft hues as the woman lit her Axe like a torch.
“This temple was built centuries ago. Long before we used the passageway to commune with the dragons. This temple is a place of worship for all of the gods and goddesses. Each room serves another deity.” She spoke as she walked along. Along the walks of the hallway runes were etched into place, artwork of dragons and elves. It was absolutely gorgeous. It took some time but eventually they came into a large cavernous room that held an alter in the center of it. The queen stepped to the alter and touched it with her fingertips. She gazed to the ancient text upon it.
“My, my….” A deep rumbling voice came from the darkness that surrounded them. “It isn’t even time for the offering. Yet here you are. It’s been a long time, Queen Raenisa.” The voice grew louder as the sound of scales dragging over the stone floor could be heard. The dragon’s tail swished back and forth from the shadows that he sat within. Though his eyes began to glow like the embers of a fire.
“Ezzas.” Raenisa spoke as she looked directly into the shadows to the dragon. She could barely make out his large silhouette.
“There is quite a disturbance from you two.” The dragon shifted forward into the light. “Trouble. Worry. Is that Regret I smell?” He turned his ember hues to look to Tora. “Yes, yes it is.” He breathed deeply as he looked to her, his snout just a foot from the Seer. “Tell me, human. What is it that you seek?” He questioned as he focused in on Tora. His voice was a low growl. Raenisa stepped between the two, protecting Tora from the dragon. “You challenge me?” He questioned in a snarl.
He watched the queen with piercing eyes, but she did not stand down. Raenisa shuddered slightly. “Tora has something to return to you.” She spoke after a moment. “Something that belongs to you.” She held her ground as she stared into the huge amber hues of the beast. “She merely wanted to return it.”
Ezzas snarled as he moved in the blink of an eye and held the queen against the wall. He growled as he looked back to Tora. “Well. What is it? Time is ticking.” He growled as he pressed against the queen with his huge claw.

Tora looked about the glorious hallway. She held her axe towards the markings in and engravings. The different gods – “Freya…” she touched one of the pictures. “Loki…” she touched another door. She began to chuckle slightly “Thor-“ she shook her head. “Your god – Vandria…” she felt an aching pit in her stomach, something told her no. She cleared her throat “Amazing” she finished her sentence with a smile.
“It is a shame you have to hide this, it is beautiful… your people should be able to witness this” she spoke softly with a sigh. “I am honored to be here, at least” she nodded and then paused. There was a grinding sound in the next room. A deep rumbling voice spoke out to her. It was in the air, her ears heard it – and it was also in her mind. Echoing in the furthest point of her skull.
“What I – seek?” Tora questioned, she stepped back slightly as the dragon faced her suddenly. This was different than being grasped by Bahamut, or thrown by the Pearl Dragon… this was – it made her spin shake. She gasped then the dragon pushed the Queen against the wall – then she grit her teeth. “Ezzas” Tora stepped forward. “I’ll show you” she touched a huge scale upon his shoulder. She stood close to him, showing no fear of his size and overwhelming power.
The scene began in the bright blue skies of the mountains, during the late summer season. The colors of the trees were only just turning orange and yellow so gently. The vision of the scene was that of a dragon, soaring through the skies with ease. The hues of the dragon spied other dragons, who flew together. The mountains were that of an bustling city of dragon. In the valley – a city was erected, Elves and Humans lived together. The dragon swooped down and landed, local people near by gathered and cheered for the dragon. The dragon – obviously a child, from the rumbling giggle of a young drake. Flew up into the air and spun with joy… A world where Dragons, Elves, Fae, Humans thrived in the same space…
Tora stumbled back from the vision, of which both Raenisa and Ezzaz would see. She shook her head “I cant say if that was a thousand years ago, or a thousand years in the future. But I see this vision, I see a world of joy” she set her axe down on the ground, and then her other axe. She then reached for the huge tooth in her pocket…
Tora held it upward with two hands, offering it to the dragon. “I’m not asking for anything, Ezzaz. I’m just returning something I found” she held it upward. “So take it, and we will be on our way” she bowed her head…

Raenisa turned her hues to Tora as she touched the images. “Incredible isn’t it? My ancestors built this so long ago. I’m surprised the murals still remain.” She gave a gentle smile as they had continued along. “A lot of your gods show up in the old texts of my people. I’ve always wondered if we could go back far enough how much influence we have had on one another.” She spoke before they entered the chamber.
Raenisa struggled against the dragon’s clutch upon her. She choked and writhed. As Tora stepped toward the dragon the queen gazed to her, “Tor...a…..no….” She gasped as she fought to breathe, the dragon had pressed harder against her as Tora stepped closer to him. The vision over took them.
Ezzas stumbled back slightly as they returned from the vision. His hold on Raenisa loosened. He stared to Tora as she spoke. The dragon’s grip loosened even more on the queen, allowing her to fall to her knees upon the floor. He took the tooth into his clawed grip. The dragon gazed to Tora once again. “You say, you do not know the past from the future. Yet what you see...is a world different than any I have ever known.” His voice rumbled. “What game are you playing at, human?” He growled as he turned his attention back to Tora.
Raenisa stood slowly, “No game, Ezzas. She just wanted to bring it to you. It belongs to you.” She staggered slightly.
The dragon snarled and reared then, his mouth filled with fire. As the blast came from his lips the queen moved to Tora and wrapped her arms around her. A shield of lightening surrounded them, blocking out the attack from the angry dragon. The queen gripped onto the Seer as her eyes glowed from the use of her magic. “Ezzas!” A voice filled the chamber. Suddenly Raenisa felt something grip tightly around her and Tora. She let out a cry as they were surrounded in darkness. The air rushed passed them. The queen cried out as she tried to move within the tight grasp.
“Tora...” Raenisa whimpered. The sound of a growl came from behind then within the dark. The queen’s vision faded from the tight grip…
**
Raenisa sat upon the pavilion that overlooked the sea. Her eyes were crystal, her face was young. She gripped onto the railing as she gazed to the sea. “Grandpa!” She cried, giddy. She spun around and rushed through the courtyard. The young elf was dressed in a beautiful blue dress. “He’s back!!” She giggled as she ran up the stairs of the castle. She rushed into the throne room.
A beautiful woman with the crown upon her head turned. She had jet black hair and the same beautiful blue eyes as the princess. “Rae, dear.” She knelt down and hugged her daughter, she lifted her upon her hip and chuckled lightly. “You’re running awfully quick there. What is it?” She questioned.
“Grandpa is back!! I saw his ship!” She spoke gleefully.
The king turned his gaze to his daughter from the guard that he was speaking with. “Raenisa.” He spoke. His voice was stern. “Your grandfather isn’t due to return for another month.” He then returned his attention to the guard. Something was happening. The king looked stressed.
The queen lowered her daughter and offered her hand forward. “I’ll come with you dear.” She spoke as she glanced to the king a long moment.
The young Raenisa grinned and grasped her mother’s hand. She then pulled her along swiftly from the castle and out to the front of the castle just as her grandfather walked into the courtyard of the castle. “Grandpa!” Raenisa cried as she rushed forward to the elf. She wrapped her arms around him as he knelt to greet her.
The elf chuckled as he looked to the young girl. “Raenisa, it’s been too long hasn’t it? You’ve gotten so big.” He commented and chuckled lightly. He stood and looked to the queen. “Aeri, my dear.” He stepped forward and hugged her. “I have much to tell you of my travels.” He had a bag over his shoulder full of journals.
The young Raenisa looked to her grandfather with a smile upon her lips. “I want to hear all about your trip!” She grasped his hand and towed him forward toward the castle. The queen chuckled as she looked to her young daughter.
**
The queen sat up with a gasp. Her body ached. She looked around in confusion. It all came rushing back to her then. She scrambled to her feet, “Tora…?” She questioned as she used the wall for balance. “Tora?” She nearly fell.

Tora cried out to the dragon as she saw the winding up of the fire in his chest and throat. The glowing ember color could be seen dimly through this thick scales. Tora felt Raenisa grip onto her, and was surprised when no fire game. She felt Raenisa being pushed from the blast, so Tora dug her heels in and helped hold Raenisa. “Rae – “ she gripped her hand and cried out when something grasped them.
Tora could see the dream of Raenisa. The young girl – excited for her Grandfather. He was returning home… This dream was like nothing she had ever seen, she was walking in the dream, physically. She weaved through people and fought to keep up with the Queen and King, and young Raenisa. She smiled wide and jumped about – in a adorable manner. That same glow she had when Tora loosened her up.
She followed them to the docks and looked to the boat he came back on. She watched the viking long boat – rowing away. “Wait-“ she called out and rushed to the end of the dock. She sighed and turned – the Grandfather stood and looked directly at Tora.
“You know, you kind of look like one of the Shield Maidens from over there – hah, I bet you’d like her” he grinned “Lagertha will become a legend some day, no doubt” she smirked and then walked away to meet with the Princess.
Tora watched him walk away with an arm behind Raenisa’s back, guiding her forward…
Tora stirred from her slumber, not on her own will though. She sat upward – her back was leaning against a wall. “Rae” she called and slowly stood, she groaned as she did. “My axes” she groaned. “I set my damn Axes down, he still attacked” she fumbled around until she came to Raenisa. She grasped her and placed her head on Raenisa’s shoulder briefly, her breathing instantly leveled out and she forced herself to relax.
“He has the tooth, the message is delivered.” She tugged on Raenisa’s arm to leave. “We don’t need them for Alexander, we would need them if it became a Demon war…” she grasped her arm. “They will see it for what it is, if the time ever comes. We’ll have no choice back to group together, this is an offer of good token, in preparation for that time” she assured Raenisa. “We are alive.. we need to go” she began to lead her away…

Raenisa heard Tora’s voice. “Tora...” She breathed as she felt the woman’s grasp upon her. Her body ached as she took in quick breaths. “Ezzas...doesn’t agree with many...” She spoke her voice soft. The queen looked about the dim room. They were in one of the chambers of the temple. How? “I hope it doesn’t come to that.” She spoke as she was tugged forward. The queen stepped forward, she was in a daze. That dream. She hadn’t thought of her grandfather in such a long time. Her eyes had been drawn to the viking ship. It looked so much like the ships that Tora and her people rode upon. To think she had been so close to the vikings...so long ago.
As they walked into the main hall Raenisa turned and placed her hand against the wall. She spoke a few words in elvish and she watched as the stone slid back into place grinding all the while. The howl of the storm outside could be heard within the temple walls. Raenisa stepped forward and gazed to the alter, the blood from Tora had disappeared. But something lay upon the alter...Tora’s axes. “Tora.” She spoke as she stepped over to the alter and grasped the axes. “At least you didn’t lose these.” She gave a soft smile.
The queen then stepped over to her horse whom had come inside for shelter from the storm. Raenisa drew in a breath as she looked to the huge flakes of snow. “This will not be an easy descent back to Armalon...” She spoke as she climbed upon the horse. She offered Tora a hand and helped her up behind her as they pressed into the storm. The air gave a chill to the queen as the wind whipped about. She held her hand up and focused her energy. The shield of blue magic surrounded them then. A warmth settled down within the orb of power that surrounded even the horse. The queen closed her eyes slightly as she focused her energy into the spell.
**
“This storm is getting stronger.” Rhys spoke as he stood at the balcony doors of the princess’ chambers. “I know the queen will return.” He spoke as he looked to the sleeping woman. “And...she’ll know what to do to make you better.” He gave a weak smile. “Just hang in there, Amara.” He looked back to the blowing snow outside.
“Rhys?” Liliana walked into the room. She held a mug of elixir in her hands. “Have we tried an elixir?” She questioned softly.
The knight stepped forward and shook his head slightly, “No. She hasn’t awakened for us to give her one.” He looked to the princess.
“Here. Help me sit her up.” Liliana stepped forward and set the mug down. “Maybe it’ll help her fight this.” She spoke as she nodded to Rhys.
The knight came over and carefully helped Liliana sit the princess up, her body was limp, her head lulled to the side. “Are you so sure this is a good idea? What if this makes it worse?” He questioned in a worried tone.
Liliana gazed to him a moment. “I don’t have any better ideas. Do you?” She questioned softly. “Come on.” She lifted the mug to Amara’s lips and tilted it back. The princess gagged slightly on the liquid and then she swallowed. Liliana continued this until the entire mug was gone. “Alright...hopefully...that does something...” She helped lay the princess back down and she tucked the blankets in around her. “I’ve never seen skin so pale...” She touched the princess’ cheek and shook her head slightly. “Yet...she’s unbearably warm...”
**
The sun was bright upon the city of Armalon. “Raenisa.” A golden haired elf walked through the castle. He grasped her hand and pulled her back to him, a smile upon his lips. “Avoiding me?” He questioned. “You’re my queen now. Shouldn’t we act like it?” He questioned then.
Raenisa looked to the man, a stranger to her at the time. Her father had arranged the marriage. Sure their companionship grew, but it took time. It took years. In the beginning...she hated him. “I may be your queen. But that does not make me your love.” She spoke her voice almost sad in a way. “My father chose you as my husband because your father is our Lieutenant of the guard. It only made sense. You have a military background. You should know how to run a kingdom.” She drew in a breath and then sighed as she shook her head. “So apologies if I am not warm and welcoming.” She pulled her hand from his grasp and walked away then. Her heels clicked along the marble flooring.
“Raenisa.” Lhoris rushed after her again. “Let’s...start over then?” He offered a smile. “How about dinner? I’ll treat you as a queen should be treated.” He grinned and kissed the back of her hand. “I don’t just want to be king and queen, Raenisa. I want you to actually enjoy our time together...” He raised a brow slightly. “I want you to want this...” He spoke with a sigh at the end.
The queen looked to Lhoris as she looked to most people. “Okay.” She spoke and offered her hand forward. “Dinner, then?” She gave a gentle smile to him, though it wasn’t a true smile. But she was trying.
**
The queen’s head lulled back against Tora’s shoulder, her body had slumped back. They were just outside of town now, the storm had weakened. The barrier that the queen had kept up around them for nearly three hours faded away. A small trickle of blood leaked from her nose as they came into the city.

Tora followed Raenisa, she approached the alter and lifted the axes into her hands. “Hm..” she shut her eyes and then sheathed them. “This place…” she shook her head. “Let’s go” she spoke and followed her out of the large doors. The wind howled and shrouded her sight with the pelting of snow upon her face.
They came to the horse, who was huddled against the side of a large stone. Tora assisted the Queen onto the horse and they began downward. Thankfully Raenisa had a trick up her sleeve, or else going down would not have been an option. Tora knew that Temple was the last place she wanted to be. She sat behind the Queen, her arms snaked up and locking around her abdomen…
Tora didn’t recognize how long they were out in the blizzard. She saw the vision. These visions came more and more often. It was beginning to hurt her brain, or something within. When the Queen’s barrier faded – and she fell limp in her arms – Tora gripped the Queen with a single arm. She reached for the reigns and then grasped them. They began galloping forward “I know bud” she spoke to the horse, who huffed loudly.
The gates opened immediately to their presence. The horse galloped loudly over the wooden bridge that led them into the city. They rushed through the city, caring not to slow down. The hooves echoed in the quiet city, as everyone sat and waited… What would come of the Princess, Tora and the Queen?
They arrived at the courtyard and Tora slipped off easily. She reached upward and helped the Queen, who nearly fell, she wrapped an arm around her and easily lifted her into her arms. A guard went to take the Queen, but Tora pushed passed him. She carried the Queen swiftly up to the woman’s bedroom. She pushed the door open with her back and set her down. By then Tora had received a following of people…
“She’s exhausted, that Is all. She needs rest. Let me see Amara” Tora spoke. The apothecary held a hand up – trying to stop Tora.
“Shut it, I’m fine” she spoke and stepped passed him as well.
“You were shot several times, Seer – let me check you out” he reached for her arm.
Tora pulled her arm back aggressively and scoffed. “After I see Amara, okay?” she questioned with an annoyed voice. She rushed down the hall until she came to Amara’s room. She pushed open the door to see Liliana and Rhys standing near. “Is she okay?” she questioned softly.
“She is not getting any better… pale as can be.. cold” Rhys squeezed his hand into a fist and hit his own thigh, as he sat on a chair by the bedside.
“Assassins… playing with dirty poison” Tora grunted and then she paused for a moment. She dug through her pockets furiously. “where…” she patted her pockets down. Until she pulled out a single leaf, it was small – it fit in the palm of her head. It was orange and glowing, with purple little veins… A leaf of Yggdrasil. Tora thought for a very long moment. What power radiated from a single leaf… what she could do with it…Tora drew in a deep breath and then let it go.
“Get me a hot tea” she nodded to Liliana. The servant nodded her head and stepped from the room. Tora pulled out her knife and then she stepped over to the wardrobe. She used it like a desk and cut the leaf up into small little pieces. When Liliana returned – she scooped the diced leaf into the tea and stirred It slowly… She stepped over to Amara and lifted the spoon – she dribbled some of the liquid into the Princesses’ mouth. The liquid glowed a gentle orange, and the reaction was immediate… the color of Amara’s skin returned slowly.
Tora stepped back and held the mug close to her, this particular tea … who know what it could cure. She looked to Liliana and handed her the mug. “The Queen needs a drop as well” she nodded and allowed the servant to take the mug. She stood and waited for Liliana to wake. “Ensure the rest of that tea is bottled.” She called out to Liliana as she walked away…

Raenisa whispered something in her sleep as the horse began to gallop forward. She continued to mutter softly in her sleep as they moved through the city. When Tora pulled her from the horse her eyes fluttered slightly as she woke for a moment. “Tora...” She whispered as her arm wrapped around the woman’s neck before she fell unconscious once more. When she was laid in the bed she muttered something once again as she continued to sleep.
The apothecary followed after Tora. “If I may Seer...” He huffed, he seemed overwhelmed. He stood back though and allowed Tora to do as she pleased. He watched as the glowing liquid was dripped into Amara’s mouth. The color returned to her skin and his brows rose. “Gods...what was that leaf?” He questioned.
Liliana took the mug carefully and nodded to Tora. “I’ll get it to her...” She quickly left from the room.
The princess’ breathing became more even as the remedy took its course. Eventually her eyes cracked open. Rhys stood up, a grin upon his lips. He hugged Tora from the side briefly. “You did it!” He exclaimed. “Princess, are you alright? How do you feel?” He questioned.
Amara looked around the room dazed, she slowly sat up and looked to Tora. Her brows furrowed slightly, “You’re okay...” She stood and stepped to Tora. Her steps were shaky, but she could hold her own. The remedy had worked. “What happened?” She questioned. “You...were carried away...” She furrowed her brows as she realized her side ached. The princess looked down to a bit of blood on her side. She remembered then...the arrow that pierced her.
“You were poisoned, Princess...” Rhys spoke as he looked to her a long moment. “The Seer saved you.” He smiled.
“Princess you shouldn’t be up...” The doctor stepped forward and helped the princess sit back on the edge of her bed. “You have a nasty injury.” He helped her to lay back down. “Please rest princess.” He looked to Tora. “Let me see you.” He began looking over Tora. His brows rose as he looked to her. “How...you have no injuries?” He questioned. “I saw you shot several times with arrows...I saw the dragon carry you away...” He drew in a breath as he grasped his crate. “When you have time...please come see me...I have questions...” He shuffled from the room quickly.
Amara groaned as she pushed herself back up again. She took in quick breaths. “Tora...my mother...” She looked about the room. “What happened?” She questioned quickly. “Please tell me she’s alive...”
**
Liliana carefully allowed a droplet of the remedy into the queen’s mouth. It slipped over her lips and Liliana waited. She found a small vial to pour the mug into. One of the empty elixir vials. She placed the cork in the top of it and she turned around. As she did a soft smile came to her lips. “My queen.” She bowed.
Raenisa looked around the room. “Is...is everyone okay?” She questioned. Her mind was foggy. She gazed to her servant.
Liliana nodded, “Yes...my queen, the Seer cured the poison that was ailing the princess...and she seems to be okay as well.” She gave a soft smile.
Raenisa stood from the bed and and rushed from the room. She heard Liliana call out to her but that didn’t stop her. She ran down the hallway to Amara’s room. She pushed the door open just as Amara was asking about her. “Amara.” She stepped forward and embraced her daughter gently. She then looked to Tora and gave a nod. “Thank you.” She stepped to Tora and wrapped her arms around her. She embraced her for a long moment, her breath shuddered slightly. “I’m glad you’re okay.” She whispered before she stepped back from the Seer.
The princess held her hand over her side she took in small breaths as she focused her energy, her hand began to glow white. She grit her teeth slightly as she healed her wound. It took a moment but the trickle of blood from her side stopped. She let out a long sigh as she sat back on her bed. “This is just the beginning...and he nearly killed us...” She spoke, her voice soft. “I never imagined King Alexander would attack in such a bold fashion...”
The queen looked to her daughter a long moment. “He will not fool us again my dear.” She hugged her gently. “Get some rest.” She kissed the top of her daughter’s head. “We all need some rest.” She nodded to Rhys. “Thank you for keeping her safe until our return, Rhys.” She smiled gently to him. The queen then turned. “Come on, let’s get you to bed, hm?” She led Tora from the room. The queen grasped her hand and led her down the hallway to her room. She pulled her inside and then she turned to Tora. She searched her hues a long moment, “Come here...I can see the pain in your eyes...” She let her across the room to the couch that sat before the fire.
The queen pulled off the pieces of her armor until she stood in a pair of shorts and a tunic. She nodded then. “Sit.” She sat before the fire and held her hands forward and waited for Tora to take them. “Just breathe.” She spoke as she closed her eyes. She began to speak the ancient tongue and soon enough a rune appeared on the floor around them. It pulsed blue. She sucked in a breath as she focused. The world around them spun and disappeared then.
**
“Don’t let go.” The queen spoke in the darkness. She breathed evenly as she held onto Tora’s hands. Soon though, the chill of the darkness faded. Raenisa chuckled lightly as she opened her eyes. It was a beautiful summer day. They sat within a lush green plain of rolling hills with the mountains as the backdrop. The sun was warm against her skin. The queen leaned forward and kissed Tora’s cheek. “Open your eyes.” She spoke as she leaned back with a smile upon her lips.

Tora lifted her arm as the doctor pulled at her armor. “Questions…” she sighed and turned back to Amara. “Your mother is fine and well” she stepped over and grasped the Princesses hand. “Guess we’ll postpone the tournament” she chuckled and turned her gaze to the door as it opened with force. Tora stepped back from the bed and allowed Raenisa to see her daughter.
“Come on” Tora spoke to Liliana and Rhys to leave the room. She stepped behind them and closed the door, allowing the Princess and Queen some time together. As the Queen stepped outside and addressed the group, they bowed and left.
Tora walked with the Queen as she grasped her hand, their pace brisk. They sat infront of the beautiful fireplace of carved wood and stone. Tora pulled her armor off bit by bit until she wore the same, a tunic and underwear. She sat down on the ground next to Raenisa and breathed slowly as commanded. She listened to the lulling sound of the Elven tongue – ancient phrases slipping from the Queen’s lips. She grasped onto her hand and slipped away…
Tora kept her eyes shut, but she heard the sound of wind through trees. The gentle wooshing and shimmering of leaves. She could feel the breeze caress her, and make the thin blades of grass dance gently. Tora smirked and opened her eyes, cheeks flushing from the kiss upon her cheek. She looked around and then smiled brightly. “Wow” she whispered and then laughed. She wrapped her arms around the Queen and hugged her close. She rested her head on Raenisa’s shoulder and shut her eyes again. Birds tweeted and the breeze pulled again…
“This isn’t the fade” Tora whispered as she pulled her head back. “but I feel at peace here” she took in a breath and let it go. “Where are we?” she questioned softly.

The queen smiled to Tora as she pulled her into her arms. The scent of fresh flowers filled her nostrils. Raenisa gave a slight giggle as Tora laughed. “No this isn’t the Fade.” She spoke as she drew in a deep breath. “This is Eldafaryn...in your language I believe that means Elf Haven.” Raenisa lay back, pulling Tora with her as they lay upon the lush grass. “This is a world of peace.” The gentle wind brushed over their bodies as the queen let out another relaxed breath. “This world is where my mother used to bring me when I was afraid. Or...if I was struggling with my magic, or anything at all. She would bring me here to center myself. This place is full of the magic of spirits that are at peace. Unlike the Fade the gods do not walk here. It is an inbetween. A place to recollect ones thoughts.” The queen ran her fingertips along Tora’s body as she closed her eyes allowing herself to relax. A soft laugh came over her lips. “Amara and I used to come here quite a lot when she was younger. When the war first began she was barely in this world.”
“I used to bring her here when she would cry...when she had nightmares and she couldn’t sleep. She used to dream of Ezzas...when Lhoris...her father...the late king...when he died...Ezzas came to Armalon with rage in his heart because his love had been stolen from him. So he came to kill Amara and I….I believe...I stood upon the balcony praying that everyone was alright when I saw him flying directly at me….he hovered over us. He growled of things that I did not know. He blamed me. He still blames me. He blew his fires at us...and I was able to protect us just as I did in the cavern with you...” The queen paused a long moment. “Amara had terrible nightmares of that day...even though she was just a babe...she remembered that horrific day...” The queen paused a long moment as the birds chirped and the breeze blew softly. “This place, will center you more than the fade ever could. But I couldn’t bring you here at first...I...” The queen seemed to think deeply then. “This place is not one that humans have ventured to...it is an elvish spell...one that we have not shared with anyone. It is our sanctuary and I...did not know if you would be able to come...but if you could go to the fade...then you can pass into Eldafaryn with my guidance.” Raenisa closed her eyes again, her voice was calm, relaxed. The bruising upon her neck and her other scrapes were non-existent in this plain. No pain traveled her. No injuries. Not even the Gods could touch them here. The queen began to hum a soft sweet tune, an old elvish song. It was beautiful. The tone of her voice carried across the lush grass and hovered there.
**
Amara lay in her bed. She grit her teeth slightly and mumbled in her sleep. “No...” She breathed, her hands balled into fists. Her chest rose and fell quickly.
It was a world that Amara did not recognize. Beautiful buildings with carefully carved wooden architecture. The princess ran through the cobblestone streets, she wore her battle armor. Her bow was in her hand. She was knocked to the ground by an explosion. Her eyes gazed up to the skies to see Bahamut. “No!” She cried out to the huge king of dragons. His mouth filled with light and suddenly a burst of power came from the dragon. The princess rushed forward as the buildings around her were destroyed. She saw it then. The castle in the distance. Just where was she? She looked around to the people. The people were a blur, hard to make out...what was happening? “Bahamut!” The princess cried as her eyes glowed bright blue. “No!” Another blast of power, her ears rang from the explosion. She was knocked to the ground again, debris covered her. Amara cried out as she pushed herself up. Blood dripped down her face from a gash upon her forehead.
“He’s more powerful than I imagined.” A voice came from behind her. “It’s beautiful. Isn’t it? Just look at them flee, princess.”
Amara looked back to the figure, shadows surrounded him. She stood shakily before him as another blast from the huge dragon came toward her. She held her arm up and a dome of ice surrounded her. The world around her melted away to ash and dust. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she turned to the stranger, he was gone...her eyes looked to the sky as Bahamut hovered over Armalon in the distance now. “No!” She cried as she rushed forward to save the castle.
The princess sat up, her chest heaved, tears ran down her cheeks. She reached up to her head as if she expected to find the gash. It felt so real. Her eyes raced about the room. The sun had not yet peeked over the ocean. The storm still howled outside. It appeared to be the middle of the night. She sat on the edge of her bed as she struggled to catch her breath. “What...was that dream?” She questioned, her hands trembled as she stood and wrapped a warm robe around her body. The princess walked into the halls and made her way to the arboretum. Amara walked along the beautiful lush plants and she eventually sat herself in the gazebo. She watched the beautiful koi fish swim within the small river like pond that was formed within the garden. She brushed away tears as she hugged her arms to her body. The princess trembled as the scene kept playing over and over again in her mind.

Tora moved with the woman to the lush and thick grass. She laid an arm out and her fingers grasped a handfull of grass. She rubbed a thumb against its texture and leaned her head back, sighing softly. She listened to Raenisa speak, nearly a ramble even. The woman spoke of her daughter, her unbreakable love for the young woman... And then her late husband. As she spoke - Tora rolled to her side and propper her head up, she listened to her intently...
"The dragons..." Tora spoke softly. "They talk like us, they have thoughts like us... but they are dragons at the end of the day. Ancient, benevolent, whatever the case, perhaps they're even better than us. But do they have this?" She questioned as she reached forward and caressed the cheek of Raenisa. She smirked and let a small chuckle escape her lips. "What is all of this for, if not for the soul before us?" she spoke with a gentle voice. "The sun rises for the moon to rest, and the moon rises to give the sun a purpose. They live for each other.." she moved her hand to Raenisa's shoulder and rested it there.
"The wars of the Gods were never about power" she spoke and rolled to her back as she gazed to the beautiful clouds. "Odin was a lover. Every interaction..war..it is fueled by something far greater, whatever it is that drives our core. I believe, a search for completion is the answer. Souls torn into two beings, drove apart. Nature allows the gravity of fate to bring them together, but it is up to them to seal it. I believe everyone faces their opposite at least once..." she smirked and then sighed. "I think that it is cruel to deny someone that opportunity..." she shut her eyes. "Seers are vowed to never marry, sure. Lovers and the like.." she shook her head "Just as bad as an arranged marrage..." she rambled.
"That God of Death... offered me Valhalla" she spoke in a breathless whisper. "I said no.. because I'm not done here." she spoke. "I see change in bits and pieces, I see a better world for everyone, I see peace..." she shifted through her thoughts. All the thoughts and conflict that brimmed her mind, constricted her mind and threatened her soul...
"The dragons, I don't think they see it the same as we do. We don't know what Alexander is doing, or why. I can bet.. he is broken and torn, he is incomplete... Even if he took over all there was to rule - he would continue to be miserable, and his people would suffer" she shook her head. "I don't know that even I could lead, I would eventually fall into a path of self destruction..." she turned her head to her. The grass pressed against her cheeks with a slight crispy jab. "In truth. I see the future. But I can't make it out" she spoke softly.
"All this, only to be left lost and confused. Tied between what I think the truth is, and what I want it to be..." she shut her eyes. "I hope I made the right decision" she jumped from one thing to another. "To take my people from their home, to estrange them..." tears swelled in her eyes slightly... "I abandoned my people for the concept of some better future. Everything I have done has gone against their wishes. I am the Seer though, the right and power is mine... but yet, now my people are left with no Seer at all. Thousands of years of Tradition now destroyed... I wonder frequently... just what it is like there..." she shook her head.
"And I am here, floating in nothing - on a bed of fresh grass. With the most curious, and beautiful woman I've set eyes on. And I want her so bad" she turned again on her side, looking to the Queen. "I want all the things I can never have" she smirked. "Then I live this duel life, sneaking away to your room. Drowning in the never end sea of our eyes" she sighed with a touch of happiness. "If you are the Sun, I am the Moon." she spoke finally. As if to conclude the cascading thoughts that flitted from one concern to the next. They meshed together in her mind and burst at the seems. It seemed the only place to finally make any sense of it, though her version of sense still left her confused.

Raenisa turned slightly as Tora propped herself up. Her amber hues gazed to the woman as she began speaking of the dragons. The queen blushed slightly as Tora caressed her cheek. “The dragons are many things. Stated over the years.” She spoke softly and then she continued to listen as Tora spoke of the Gods. As she began to speak of souls that were drove apart the queen’s eyes filled with fascination, curiosity even. Her smile fell slightly as Tora spoke of Seers and then of arranged marriages. The rambling was curious to the woman. Tora hadn’t spoken much, the queen knew little about her. But she knew enough that she craved her presence. It was a feeling deep within her.
As Tora spoke of the goddess of death the queen furrowed her brows slightly. To hear that Tora had turned down Valhalla. It struck the queen in a way that nothing else did. Her expression was soft, the smile wiped from her lips, she looked almost worried as she continued to listen to the Seer’s erratic rambling. The thoughts jumped from topic to topic. She searched Tora’s hues as she worked on making sense of it all. The queen watched as tears brimmed in the Seer’s eyes. She’d left her people? Raenisa had never considered this. That there was only one Seer...just as there was one king and queen.
The queen’s thoughts were jerked back as Tora began to speak of her once more. The smirk upon the woman’s lips brought a soft smile back to the queen. Raenisa leaned forward and pressed her lips gently to Tora’s. She leaned back after a moment and gazed into the woman’s hues. “This world. Everything around us. It is constantly changing. Even the visions that are pulled through your mind.” She brushed one of the tears away from Tora’s cheek as she stared to her silently, searching her expression carefully. “You did what you believe to be right. You are tasked with such a heavy burden, one that a single soul in this world should not be tortured to carry. Yet here you are. You are the strongest woman I’ve met, by far.” She gave a gentle smile then as she brushed a bit of hair from Tora’s face.
Raenisa rolled to her side and propped herself up as well. “I believe what you’ve said. Souls that embark upon this world do seek something. Another half, maybe. But what I do know is...I see you...before me...and I smile.” The queen let out a soft laugh. “That is something I do not do easily, my dear.” She shifted and gazed to the world around them. “I believe...what ever rules you have been burdened to follow...you should give yourself a chance to flourish.” The queen cupped Tora’s cheek. “So many thoughts that your mind cannot keep them straight.” She rubbed her thumb against Tora’s jaw. The queen began to speak in the ancient tongue. Her amber hues locked upon Tora’s. It was a soothing spell. One that her mother had taught her when she was young. One that she used with Amara when she had nightmares. The queen spoke smoothly and gently. Her eyes held a gentle glow, a soft smile upon her lips. Calming. The gentle breeze around them pushed against her hair slightly causing it to flow about in the wind. When she finished speaking the spell she leaned forward and kissed Tora’s forehead, as if to seal it. “Just breathe, Tora.” She spoke as the world around them swirled. The queen was sitting across from Tora, a soft smile upon her lips. “Come.” She helped her to her feet and walked her across the room to the bed. “Let’s get you some rest.” The queen wrapped her arms around Tora and embraced her gently. She stayed like this for a long moment before she shifted and pulled the blankets down. She then helped Tora into the bed and she climbed in beside her. “Just breathe.” She spoke as she traced along Tora’s body.

Tora found herself lost in the gentle caress of her lips. Thi world. Her scent. The birds in the air. That inner core feeling of just peace and serenity. A sort of cold blue silence of comfort. She felt it over come her. She felt it start in the atmosphere and guide down through the clouds, the pressure on her body as it came to her. Until it molded into her like wax over a figure. Peace came with the gentle kiss her forehead, as she was guided by candle light along by Raenisa.
Nothing but blue skies. Puffy clouds in the distance. A flying dragon in the dead distance, snaking across the sun's face. It opened its wings and glided downward. Flashes of waterfalls. Sprites twinkling in the air. A Faerie knelt down and plucked a glowing flower from the ground. A Satyr stepped up and glanced over the Faerie's shoulder, chuckling with her. A foggy dream of some... Faewilds.
Tora stirred awake. The first dream of peace. She did not jolt awake in a scream, and pool of sweat. No she... Tora turned her gaze to Raenisa, who held her closely and was nuzzled into her shoulder. Tora sat her head on the pillow and let out a long and drawn sigh. What had she gotten herself into? She placed a hand upon the Queen's forearm and shut her eyes once more...
*** "Battle or no Battle!" Tora's voice range clear. "A war will not stop us from joy" she shouted. The crowds cheered and hollered. "We will continue the Tournament of Asgard!" A week had passed, the storms cleared and the skies were blue once more. The people recovered, the scare was just that. A reminder of the fight. She knew more than likely they had a little bit of time. The winter was setting in, the King would lick his wounds and do everything to try and understand his enemy...
"In the name of Odin! Fight!!" She shouted and made her way back to the stands and sat next to Raenisa, Amara to her side. "So, who do you think will make it to the finals? Have you worked with Yvette at all on a plan?" She questioned with a grin. She glanced down and lifted her eyes. Rhys stood with his blade in his hand. He and a viking stood side by side, they pushed forward - until their opponents backs were against the wall. Easily Rhys stood over his opponent - his helmet off and he cheered. "Not bad" Tora grinned and nodded.
So how would they approach next? Tora was sending some Vikings back to rally more troops, she believed she could grow their ranks. Alexander may have gotten a glimpse at our forces, so we would want to make an adjustment. She weighed around ideas of splitting up groups and attacking in a series of rapid fires, shock his system. Then regroup and go all in... no.. maybe he would expect that. How would they get the advantage on them?
Another round of the tournament. This one was close. Weapons were broken and there was an all outright fist brawl. Until one final man stood - holding the collar of the remaining. He had blood over his face and he was battered rough. Though, no huge injuries were sustained.. it was a brutal fight of power and display. The viking way. Tora grinned at the fight and nodded her head in approval.
What were the strengths of the two groups? How could they maximize this in their favor.. that would be the path. Tora would ask that of Amara, standing over the map together they puzzled it. How...
"Amara... Yvette. It is time..."

Thick clouds rumbled in the distance. Lightening scattered throughout, lighting up the night sky. The roar of Bahamut overshadowed that of the thunder of the storm. Another city. Amara stood within the city her crystal hues gazed up into the sky as she watched Bahamut dive down and fly over the city. She gazed around as people screamed and ran every which way. “Stop!” She cried out. “Don’t do this!” She ran forward and was slammed to the side by a citizen of the city that ran for their life. She was knocked into the wall of a building. The princess grit her teeth as she rushed forward again.
“You can beg all you like for your life.” A chuckle came from behind her. A man stood in mage robes, he had a wild look in his eyes. “I’ll level each and every city. Just look at his power. You will kneel before me!” The man snickered as he looked up to the skies again. “I’ll own this entire world before long.”
“There will be nothing left!” Amara cried as explosions sounded from Bahamut’s power. She held her arm up as debris flew through the air. “You’ll destroy everything. Stop!” She was knocked to the side by an explosion. Her ears rang. She staggered to her feet as she looked down to her body. Blood ran down her arm and side.
“You don’t deserve this power.” The man grabbed Amara by her collar and held her up.
Amara let out a cry as a wave of fire came through the city. It washed over the buildings turning them to ash. Moments later she found herself standing among the debris. The man had vanished. She looked up into the sky to see Bahamut gazing down to her. The princess stumbled slightly as she looked around to the destruction. It was horrible. She rushed forward as she heard a cry in the distance. Someone calling for help. The princess rounded a corner to see an elven man trapped beneath rubble. Just as she reached him the world went black.
Amara sat up in her bed, her breaths heavy, her heart raced. Every night. She’d had these dreams every single night. It made it difficult to sleep. So she’d wander the castle. She’d train in the training grounds at odd hours of the night until she was exhausted enough that she would fall back asleep. Only to have another dream of destruction. Different cities were shown in each dream. All with the same horrible ending. Ash and dust.
**
The silence from King Alexander after the attack had Raenisa on edge. She hadn’t spoken to anyone about the dragons. But she’d sent her scouts to investigate the best they could without being caught. So far nothing had come of it. A week of silence. She knew Alexander must be planning something. She’d never gone a week without the slightest of movement from the king. She dug through her old journals, seeking answers from the past on how to win this battle. But as she had for the past twenty years...there weren’t any answers in the journals. Only history. She’d placed the celebrations of Winter Fest on hold, just as Tora had placed the Yuletide celebrations on hold. It was a difficult decision, but she couldn’t proceed without knowing what the king may do next.
**
Amara sat in the stands, her eyes gazed to the battlefield. She glanced to Tora as the woman questioned her. “Who will make it?” She questioned and then looked back out. “Rhys is a strong fighter, and his partner looks as though he knows what he is doing. Perhaps he will make it.” She seemed distracted as she watched the fights upon the field. She’d kept quiet about her nightmares. Amara had spent plenty of time in meditation, trying to soothe her mind. She couldn’t make sense of it. What was the connection? “I found time in the last week to work with Yvette. We have a very good tactic planned.” She smiled, though the smile was not the same as her normal smile. She looked back to the arena as two swords clashed together.
The queen glanced to her daughter, her brows furrowed slightly. There was another clash from the field and she turned her hues to look as Rhys bested his opponent. The queen looked to Tora, she could tell the woman was deep in thought, just by the look in her eyes. With each fight it became closer to time for Amara to take the field. The queen thought of her daughter laying in the bed again after she was poisoned. Her eyes looked to Amara a bit of worry in her gaze.
Soon enough the time had come. Amara stood with her bow upon her back, a sword upon her hip. She drew in a breath as she glanced to Yvette whom held her axe and shield. They were opposed by the man whom had won by fist to fist combat and one of the elven rangers. The man was still covered in blood from that fight. Yvette turned her gaze to Amara and grinned. “Remember what we worked on?” She asked just before she rushed forward.
Amara drew her bow as Yvette rushed forward. The elven ranger went to draw his bow but Amara was already on him. An arrow sliced through the air and tagged the top of his bow, it sliced through the string. The archer stared to Amara, disbelief in his eyes. It was a skilled shot, it took a lot of precision to pull off such a thing. The princess then loaded another arrow and aimed in on the man as Yvette shoved him back with her shield. She let out a breath and loosed the arrow. It flew forward and sliced into the man’s armor right at the edge of his thigh and instantly ice began to form upon his leg. Yvette reached forward and grabbed ahold of the arrow and jerked back on it. The berzerker fell to his back and scrambled backward, though ice continued to spread down his leg.
Amara had tossed her bow over her shoulder and she rushed forward as she pulled her sword. She locked swords with the ranger. It was an elegant battle as Yvette continued to battle with the man. Amara slipped and ducked easily. Her precision was unmatched by the ranger whom looked as though he was trying all too hard to keep up with her. Though out of sheer luck the ranger knocked the back of the princess’ hand. Amara winced as her sword clattered to the ground. The ranger grinned as he sliced forward at her. Amara pulled her dagger from her hip and she blocked an attack. She rolled and then rushed forward. Her shoulder slammed into his abdomen and the two clattered to the ground. They tumbled left and right. Amara threw punches, as did the ranger. It was an all out brawl. The princess found herself pinned on her back. Raenisa was standing, her eyes full of worry. “Tora...” She breathed, she didn’t like watching Amara fight. The queen gripped her hands as she watched.
Amara didn’t give in. She blocked her face and when she found an opening she turned the tables. She slammed her fist into the side of the ranger’s face and soon enough he was on his back. Amara reached to the side and grasped her sword that had fallen to the ground. The crowd was going wild. Amara pointed her sword at the throat of the ranger. Blood leaked from her lip, she had bruising upon her cheekbone and jaw. Her breaths were heavy as she glanced to Yvette whom was still fighting with the bezerker. The princess rushed over. She lifted her sword to attack and the man turned to her. Her sword locked with his axe. She grit her teeth as she fought against him. She gave a nod to Yvette whom slammed her shield into his back to knock him off balance. Amara reached forward and gripped his wrist a bit of a smirk upon her lips as she jerked him forward. She spun and her boot kicked into his back which threw him to his stomach on the ground. Amara then rushed forward and placed her boot upon his back and she pointed her sword toward his neck. Ending the fight. The crowd roared.
Yvette rushed over to Amara and hugged her from the side, lifting her small frame off of the ground a moment as the crowd cheered and chanted their names and chanted to the Gods. The princess laughed as her feet touched the ground again. She grinned to Yvette a moment before her eyes looked to the queen whom she smiled to. Amara looked like a warrior in that moment. She didn’t look like a princess at all. She was beaten from battle and she held bloodied dirt upon her leather armor. Raenisa turned her gaze to Tora, a smile upon her lips as she looked out across the crowd. In the past month of Tora's people being among her people so much had changed. Her people had come to accept the vikings. They drank with them, and stood at their sides and cheered. Perhaps the future that Tora dreamed of, the peaceful future...perhaps it existed...
