Lost to the moments. Lost within time as the colors danced within the skies above them. Sibbe gave into the overwhelming sensations – she drew upon it like the very magic that bubbled within her being. A glow even came to her eyes at the height of it all. Her chest rose and fell quickly when the moment passed, her eyes locked upon Signe. Her fingertips curled gently against her skin as water droplets slowly fell away from the two. As Signe spoke of her vision, Sibbe looked to her with curious eyes. “Wings of a Valkyrie?” She questioned, her lips parted slightly. A hum came over her lips as Signe parted from her and made her way to the edges of the water. “Are you so certain that it was me?” She asked as she too climbed from the warmth of the waters. Her clothing appeared upon her body and her hair dried instantly. A chuckle came over her lips as she felt her perfectly soft hair. She gazed to the waters and then to the beautiful skies above for a moment.
She stepped forward slowly as she drew in a breath. “I dream of a bright light. Often.” She glanced to Signe as she walked along a path that led them deep into the thick of the forest. The canopy above blotted out much of the light. Though the fauna of the forest held a light glow, some blue, some green...and others purple. She touched one of the pedals of a flower and it took on a brighter glow for a moment before it settled back to the gentle dim hue. “In the past year that dream has become more frequent still and yet...I’ve never made sense of it. Even our elder Seer cannot make sense of it.” She pushed a branch aside and they stepped from the thick of the forest onto a bare cliffside. Her lips parted as she gazed down over a beautiful valley. Her brows raised slightly as she saw the glorious city below. Unlike any city she’d ever seen. It held many buildings, a large long house. It must have housed a few thousand vikings. “Wow...” She breathed as her eyes fell upon a large tree that reached into the sky. “Yggdrasill...” She breathed in awe. “This...is this Asgard?” She giggled in a giddy fashion as she turned to look to Signe. The leaves of the tree took on a golden sort of glow. It was truly a beautiful sight to see.

Hadley had a hand upon the wheel, her eyes to the sea. “Humble.” A chuckle came over the Captain’s lips. “Leroy? Humble?” She nearly giggled now as she peered to Signe with her bright emerald hues. “Hm, not the word I would choose. But to each their own.” She winked before she adjusted the wheel again and gazed to the sky for guidance.
She glanced to the woman as she spoke of the vikings. The way of the their life. The fear. The brutal nature of them. She’d heard horror stories of the vikings. She read of their raids. It always fascinated her. “Hm, I do suppose you are right. Vikings would exist...if it was meant to be.” She raised a brow slightly. She then returned her attention to the guidance of the ship.
When Signe spoke of her mother her eyes looked to the woman once again. Her brows pulled together slightly. “Did my mother perform sacrifices?” She asked, her voice softened slightly. “If my mother was the Seer...was she the Seer for the village we left?” She questioned, “Before Yri?” So many questions.
A soft sigh escaped the captain as she looked back to the ocean ahead. A chuckle came from her lips, “Exploration and science have allowed many things.” She smirked as she glanced to the woman. When Signe spoke of her mother once more she could see something in the witch’s eyes. The whisper of her voice. Her brows tugged together slightly as the woman cleared her throat and quickly shifted the conversation.
“Tomorrow afternoon I would imagine we will arrive to Kehl Island. It has rocky outskirts that we will have to navigate...the seas around it are treacherous. The perfect home for pirates.” She smirked slightly before she adjusted the wheel as her eyes gazed to the skies. “The first time I saw the ribbons in the sky I was out at sea like this. I was but a deck hand. I remember the feeling of the soapy brush in my hand as I cleaned the deck...and the feeling of awe as I gazed up to see the beauty of it.” She smiled as she took in the memory. “it was my first time at sea. I knew I never wanted to return to the life in the city...it is far too beautiful out here.” She smiled as she glanced to Signe.
The Captain locked the wheel once again and walked to the back of the ship, she gazed to the wake made in the dark waters and then up to the skies as the lights began to fade away. “When we arrive to Kehl Island we will need to be careful...I’ve seen many lose their lives there for no good reason.” She tapped her fingertips upon the railing. She was nervous it seemed.
Footsteps carried up the stairs then, “Captain?” Emery’s voice questioned tiredly. “Did we change course? I heard something up here...”
Hadley looked to him with a smirk upon her lips before she laughed. “Late to the party, I see.” She spoke dryly. “We are headed to Kehl Island. Captain Jones requests it.” Emery went to speak and the Captain’s finger quickly went to his lips, “Ah. Before you speak.” She stepped to the wheel and unlocked it to adjust it once again as her eyes gazed to the skies. “Captain Jones has agreed to turn my hat in and state that he killed me. There is a large bounty on my head from the king. We can’t afford to have such a bounty. All I need do in return is accompany him to the Bone Festival.” She turned and looked to Emery whom had his arms crossed over his chest. “Small price, for a kind reward.” She spoke and motioned to the wheel. “Keep us headed that direction, Emery.” She pat his shoulder before she walked off without another word.
Emery gripped onto the wheel as a sigh escaped his lips. He glanced to Signe a moment, his brows were creased, “Doesn’t seem like there is anyway to talk her out of this one.” He commented, “Jones is nothing but bad luck. He’s a horrible person – yet Hadley entertains him more often than not.” He rolled his eyes. Frustration clear in his tone. “I don’t see why she entertains him.” He shrugged then.
“Signe.” Hadley called from the lower decks. “Have you prepared the Rite?” She questioned with a hopeful smile as she looked up to the two at the helm of the ship. She had a mug of ale in her hand that she’d gotten from below the deck. “Anything to get my mind off of this.” She motioned as she walked back up to the two. She smiled then as she looked to Signe.
“Perhaps if you need to get your mind off of it, Captain. You shouldn’t do it.” Emery spoke as he looked to her. “What good have you gained from Leroy? Hm? None that I’ve ever seen. He merely gets us into trouble.”
Hadley drew in a long breath and rolled her eyes slightly. “Emery. You tell me how to remove the bounty with a million gold behind it.” Her eyes narrowed slightly.
“Who says there is even a bounty.” Emery quipped back.
“You think he’d lie?” She questioned quickly.
“Yes, yes I do.” Emery stood his ground.
Hadley huffed slightly before she turned and left down the stairs. “Do not change our course, Emery.” She called as she entered the Captain’s quarters.
Emery’s knuckles were white from how tightly he gripped the wheel. He pressed his lips together and grit his teeth slightly. “She truly has a death wish going to Kehl.” He spoke and shook his head.
