Azariah was on her feet, her eyes huge as she stared to the tiger before her. She took in heavy breaths. “We are in for quite the ride, Erevan has already begun.” She spoke, her voice soft. “He gave me a nightmare, it felt so real…” She leaned her back against the tree. Ezo had his head lifted, he was watching the tiger curiously. “He made me believe that a soldier had come into our camp…I broke free and shot him, just as I released the arrow the figure morphed into you…I killed you, Lynn…” Her eyes were still glassy from the tears that slipped from her eyes in her sleep.
Ezo moved forward and nudged her gently, he whined and then looked to the tiger. Azariah wiped away the tears, “We need to move, once he gets into your mind, he corrupts it. Like a darkness.” Azariah bit her lip slightly. Her father had told her stories of Erevan. Once he had his teeth sunk into a subject he wouldn’t stop until they reached the relic, if they reached the relic. “Ezo.” She spoke and climbed onto him. “We have to get to the edge of the forest, from there we can move forward….we can’t waste any time.” Azariah looked around in the dim light, looking for any threats. She helped Lynn up and looked to the tiger, “Your friend will meet us at the forest, I am sure.” She spoke just before they took off. Azariah couldn’t get the nightmare from her mind. It kept replaying over and over, Lynn’s eyes just before the arrow pierced through her skin. It was terrifying. The feeling of her blood leaking from the wound, it was warm…
Azariah had only held someone during death once…one of her battle mates on the field. They were trying to get information and in the midst of an ambush he was sliced across the chest, She couldn’t stop the bleeding. Azariah held him, she ran her fingers through his hair and calmed him as much as she could as she watched the life fade from his body. After that she refused to allow anyone to go on her suicide missions as she called them. Rhys hated it. She’d beg Azariah to stay each and every time she left. Rhys would cry. She’d beg. Azariah would feel a pit in her stomach as she left, she felt horrible when she left Rhys like that. But she didn’t have much of a choice. Her life was more than what Rhys would allow, she had to do these things, these missions. Who else would? She’d ask Rhys that and of course Rhys wouldn’t have an answer. She’d just say ‘someone would, Az. Someone would do it so that you don’t have to anymore. I know it.’ But that wasn’t enough to Azariah. She knew that no one else wanted to do it. That’s why Jonas put her into the position, he’d fought doing it for years until he finally released her into it.
It was almost an hour before they landed at the edge of the forest. Azariah stood looking in to the thick vegetation. She bit her lip slightly. Out of the tombs, this one frightened her the most, every story her father told her of Erevan terrified her. “Okay.” She bit her lip as she stepped forward. Ezo cried and paced back and forth at the edge of the forest. He tried to slip through the trees but he couldn’t. He growled pitifully. Azariah turned and stepped back to him, she hugged herself to the side of his head. “I’ll come back, I promise.” She whispered to him and kissed the side of his face. The line she’d spoken a thousand times to Rhys during the time they were together and before. Rhys had always been worried about her.
Azariah took in a deep breath and stepped forward back into the forest. A light rain had begun to fall, but the canopy blocked most of it. She was still on edge from the nightmare, she couldn’t shake it from her mind. They walked for a long while until a bright light came from in front of them, Azariah lifted her arm slightly, she could see an outline of a being in the distance. She pulled her bow grip and aimed in, the icy bow forming instantly to her touch. As the light dimmed she could see a beautiful elven woman that stood before them. She had piercing blue eyes and a beautiful symbol on her forehead. She wore a beautiful white dress with a blue jewel upon a silver necklace. Her hair was almost white in appearance. The woman had a soft smile on her lips. “Young Thalor.” The woman spoke, her voice was silky smooth. “You will have a trial like none other ahead of you.” She looked to Lynn then for a moment. “As will you young warrior.” She gave a smile then. “You must rely on yourself.” She stood in front of Azariah then. “Rely on each other.” She placed her hand over where Azariah’s heart was and stared into her eyes. “I can not protect you from the trials you must face. Only you can protect yourself with the guide of your shield.” She looked to Lynn and smiled. A beautiful blue light had lit within the palm of her hand as she touched Azariah.
Azariah stumbled back slightly, she took in quick breaths as she fell to her knees, she looked up to the woman. She’d been overtaken by a sudden weakness. The woman stepped up to Lynn and placed her hand over Lynn’s heart as well. “Do not give in to the trials, young warrior.” This was Hanali the beautiful goddess of love and beauty. She gave a gentle smile. “Do not give up on what you believe.” She pushed gently and then she smiled before she dissipated into a flurry of rose petals.
Azariah stood slowly she looked around, she placed her hand where Hanali had touched her. “We’re going in the right direction at least.” She spoke softly. “This temple can be deceiving, it looks like nothing more than a gazebo. But, hidden stairs will lead us down into the temple, once we find it…”
Azariah turned and stepped forward.
I will end you. Your life will be mine. You can not escape. You will beg for mercy by time I am finished! Turn back! You’ll be killing more than yourself!
Azariah held her hand to her head, the voice was that of Erevan. She bit her lip slightly and looked to Lynn, she knew Lynn hadn’t heard the voice. “You can’t let me go crazy…okay?” Azariah spoke, her voice shook slightly. She was worried, it was written all over her expression. “Don’t let Erevan take me…” She jumped slightly as she saw a shadow in the distance. Though, nothing was there. Azariah pulled her bow and released an arrow, it bounced from the trunk of a tree. Her breathing increased as she scanned around for the threat that didn’t exist.

Las Lynn climbed onto Ezo – the tiger disappeared into a blue haze. Lynn turned her head a blue wisp followed her head. It jumped around in the air and twisted about, following them. The Spirit Tiger. Lynn leaned forward then – leaning into the back of Azariah’s armor. Ezo took a sudden turn and Lynn shifted – her hands flung forward and wrapped around Azariah’s waist…
Soon they landed – she slipped from Ezo and suddenly the tiger leaped from the air – from the wisp, and onto the ground. Within steps – the goddess appeared. When she touched Lynn – she felt a shock of energy. It made her slightly dizzy – the world spun ever so slightly. Lynn regained her balance – eyes looking to Azariah. “I will do my best… but your mind is not a place my shield is effective… Just make sure you talk to me – absolutely everything that comes to mind. Do not sensor yourself” she spoke. Lynn placed a hand on Azariah’s shoulder.
Lynn then moved forward and placed a gentle kiss on Azariah’s cheek. “Hold onto yourself. To the things that make you alive. What holds you down onto this plane of existence” she led her forward, sword and shield in hand. “Your King. Your people. Your friends… When you think your thoughts are slipping – focus on those…”
The Tiger looked up to her, and then forward – his giant paws plopping onto the ground with each step. “This god will play with your mind. But your heart and mind are two separate entities. They are linked together, and aid each other. If one fails – you must force the other to be a crutch.” She glanced over and then blushed slightly. “We humans take emotions very seriously…. Our love for the world, for each other – this is the drive to life. The purpose to even have a mind” she smiled then and continued onward.
They moved through the forest – when Lynn noticed something in the distance. She pointed – “I think… a statue?” she questioned. As they came closer – the statue was covered in vines and leaves, wild plans. Just as Azariah described – it was a circle which had a pair of stairs and that winded down. Lynn looked to Azariah, and then nodded. “Before we enter… Try to limit harmful attacks. And before killing something, if we must, we must verify that it is us…” she thought for a long moment and then nodded. “The answer should follow the alphabet. So… first verification is perhaps Apple… then Banana, and so on.. Go in order. And if we still am curious then – we ask a quick question. I know.. we won’t have a lot of time, but this is the only way I know to ensure we aren’t accidentally killing the wrong person…” she crossed her arms and then sighed. “Alright”
Lynn walked down the spiral stairs. The spirit tiger took the back end. He let out a low grumble, almost a growl – as they entered below. As they entered – it was dead silent. They walked through the first corridor. The hallway was perfectly straight. It had cracked and old stone walls – with the occasional vine that stuck through…
They walked. And walked. It seemed like it never ended. Lynn glanced to the wall and took her sword – she swung it at the stone, chipping it slightly. Then she continued to walk. The corridor continued. No bends. No exits.. After about 5 minutes they passed the chip in the wall. Lynn stopped before the chip and placed her hand on it. “Some kind of eternal loop…” she spoke and glanced to Azariah. “The first puzzle… figure our way out of this room…”

Azariah blushed deeply after Lynn spoke to her, after her lips pressed against her cheek. She watched her walk forward for a moment before she caught up. Azariah glanced around. “Emotions are an important part of the soul.” She gave a gentle smile. She followed Lynn down into the temple and glanced around as they walked. When they came to the notch once more Azariah held her hand to her head.
You’re lost. Gone forever. Trapped. You’ll never find a way out.
Erevan chuckled within her head. Azariah furrowed her brows and groaned slightly. “Shut up…” She whispered, “Stop…” She choked out. She looked to Lynn, her expression of fear. She thought of what Lynn said, think of her people…hold on to reality. She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath before she relaxed again. She stepped forward, she looked to the walls and then gave a nod. “Here.” She spoke as she walked up to a statue that was an elf praying. She looked at the figure for a long moment before she pulled on the arms of the statue. The arms pulled down and a rumble came from the wall as it slid out of place.
You think that will do it? You think you’re going to escape? Laughter once more.
Azariah glanced into the dark hallway that had opened before them. She could hear a snarl from within the hall. “Something is in there…” She whispered. “Do you hear it?” She looked to Lynn. “Is something there?” She swallowed, she could hear it. It sounded as if it had huge paws, whatever it was, it was heavy. Azariah looked to Lynn with frightened eyes then suddenly she heard it rushing forward. Azariah was frozen, she couldn’t move. “A-Apple…” She spoke with a trembling voice.
The creature leapt from the shadows and landed on Azariah knocking her to the ground, it had sharp blades attached to its fist which it had slammed down around her neck, pinning her to the stone. She screamed and fought against the creature, it had glowing red eyes. A demon.
He will kill you.
“No!” Azariah screamed and shoved against the beast, its weight was crushing her. Her hands lit up a bright blue as she slammed her fists into his ribcage. Then suddenly the creature dissipated into shadows. Azariah scrambled back to her feet, a cut just below her ear left blood running down the side of her neck, her nose trickled slightly. “Lynn…” She breathed, her eyes wide. It was real, yet it was not there. It was real enough to cause her damage, however, no one could help her fight against this demon…
Azariah brushed the blood from her neck and looked to it, she had bruising that appeared on her neck as well. “Please…tell me you saw it…” She looked to Lynn with nervous eyes. “Please…” She breathed heavily as she looked to the blood on her fingertips.

Lynn stepped up to the statue, along side Azariah – and watched as she released a lever. “Nice” she smiled and then stepped into the next room. Lynn glanced to Azariah as she spoke of the sounds. Her eyebrows squeezed together – then suddenly Azariah hit the ground. Lynn turned and went to rush to her side. However, something barred her path. Lynn slammed right into an invisible wall of some sort. Lynn’s nose busted – bleeding slightly. She brought her hand up to her nose and looked forward.
Azariah struggled on the ground – nothing surrounded her. She could hear her shouting and screaming. Lynn lifted her shield and based the barrier. Nothing. Lynn grit her teeth and stepped back. Her side of the room had become completely dark. The light shone down on Azariah – she watched her suffer.
You cannot save her… Worthless. What kind of shield are you? She will die. And you will watch
Lynn turned and gripped her sword and shield. “Then I won’t watch” she spoke and walked forward. To her response was a loud chuckling. Lynn gripped her blade and shook her head.
You were a failure from the start. Your parent’s didn’t want you. Left to die. In the hands of murderers. You became one. You are one. A Monster.
Lynn turned and then stumbled backwards. She stood suddenly in the middle of a town. The buildings were lit on fire. Her younger self, in shining golden Crusader armor – slashed and hacked away at innocent people. Younger Lynn stood over a woman – who had her hands up in defense, yet she was on her knees.
Another crusader stepped up behind her and said something. Crusader Lynn held her sword up, with resistance, and brought it down upon the womans neck – slicing her head right off. The head bounced on the ground and rolled to her foot.
Lynn leaned down and picked up the head, holding it in her hand. As she turned it over – it was a woman. She looked exactly like Lynn herself.
Suddenly Lynn dropped the head – and turned around. The darkness faded.
You killed her
Lynn ran forward to Azariah and placed her hand on her chest. “Az.. you’re okay” she whispered and helped her up. “I… I didn’t see it.. no.. I had..” she was shaken up. “I had my own nightmare” she whispered and then avoided her gaze.
“He is going after our fears.” She spoke and looked into the room. “I..” she shook her head. “I didn’t kill her. And you – you made it through. Whatever this is… we must remember that we are here. Right now. No matter what. Whatever he throws at us – it’s not real, it’s just him trying… hm?” her face was pale. The memory replayed.
But you can never run from the truth
Lynn turned from Azariah and let out a growl. She twirled her sword slightly and then looked to Azariah. “Lets get this relic and get the hell out of here”

Azariah watched Lynn, she could hear the fear in her voice.
She will kill you next. She’s killed before. Why not again? Why not now? She is a Crusader, she is your enemy!
Azariah grit her teeth, “No…no she…she isn’t…she…” She held her hand to her head and shook her head. “He can’t hurt us.” She whispered to herself. “He can’t hurt us…this isn’t real…”
She looked to Lynn and bit her lip. “The relic, yes….” She gave a nod. “We can do this.” She watched Lynn for a moment before she stepped down the dark hallway. She could hear whispering voices, several all at once she couldn’t make anything out. Azariah quickened her pace until she was running down the hallway. It went on and on until they finally came to an open room. It was round, with several doors that led out.
You’ll never find it. Those before you didn’t find it. You won’t be the first. You don’t even know what you’re looking for.
“Get out of my head!” Azariah nearly screamed, her voice echoed off of the walls.
“Oh, but what if I am not only in your mind?” Erevan spoke, his voice filled the room. He appeared from the shadows and stepped forward, he was clad black leather armor, a mask that covered his face, a hood over his head and ears. His eyes were a eerie white. He wore two swords on his left hip. “You will never find the relic. Do you believe that you are worthy?” He questioned and then looked to Lynn. “Do you believe she can save you?” He chuckled. “She can’t save you from yourself.” He burst forward and dissipated into the shadows of the room. “You’ll die here.” His voice echoed.
Azariah felt as though she couldn’t breathe. She swallowed hard and shook her head. “No…” She looked to Lynn. “We can do this.” She gave a nod. “We will make it through.” She swallowed as she heard the sound of the beast once again. Azariah turned her head and was instantly slammed back. She screamed as she was forced across the room and thrown harshly against the wall. The beast snarled in her face its eyes like the embers of hell. Azariah fought for her dagger only for the beast to rip it away and toss it across the room. She reached forward and slammed her hands into his chest, her eyes lit up a bright blue and icy frost covered his body.
The demon jumped back and then slammed forward, his blades pierced into the wall on either side of her waist. The blades of his other hand retracted into his skin and he brought his fist into her face with a hard hook. Azariah gripped onto his arm and once again ice began to crawl along his body. The demon snarled and hit her again before he tossed her across the room. She tumbled and fell to her back roughly. Azariah scattered to her feet and grabbed her dagger. Blood dripped from the corner of her mouth, she had a deep purple bruise on her jawline. She looked around the room as it morphed into something else. “Lynn?!” She screamed.
Azariah found herself in the castle. She was bound, her wrists in shackles above her head. She thrashed against the bonds. “Lynn!” She screamed again.
“Lynn isn’t here.” A chuckle came from the corner and the captain of King Lazarus’ soldiers stepped forward. He had a devilish grin on his lips. “It was easy to capture you both.” He chuckled, “Too easy, that tomb really had its way with your mind. Didn’t it?” He stepped forward and stared into her eyes for a long moment.
Azariah’s eyes lit up blue as she fought against the bonds, the shackles froze around her wrists. “Let me go!” She cried. She swung and kicked into his chest.
The captain grabbed her legs and stepped forward, “I’ll gut you.” He snapped.
“You wouldn’t.” King Lazarus stepped into the room. “She’s too valuable to us, unfortunately.” He smirked, he had the scroll in his hands. “We’re going to try this again, Azariah. You need to tell me everything. Show me where everything is.”
Azariah spat in his face. “I’d rather die.” She snapped. The captain brought a metal beam against her abdomen as if he was swinging to hit a baseball. She groaned and clenched her teeth. “Just kill me.” She whispered.
“Oh my dear, that would be the easy way out.” The king chuckled as he grabbed her chin and looked into her eyes. “Make her beg for you to stop.” The king turned and walked from the room.
The captain chuckled, “We’re going to start with something easy, to get you warmed up a bit, huh?” He moved over to table with assorted items where he slid on knuckle bracers. “Chin up, Elf.” He swung at her, hitting her in the ribs, clipping the side of her jaw. Azariah swung and wrapped her legs around his waist. She used her strength to raise herself up enough to slip her shackles from the hook that hung from the ceiling. Azariah then released him and in the next moment the chain of her shackles was wrapped tightly around his neck. The captain choked as she pulled his back against her chest.
Azariah spat blood and let out a slow even breath. “I know this isn’t real, Erevan.” Her voice was angry.
The captain morphed into the god’s form and chuckled deeply as the world around her slipped back into the circular room with all of the doors. “You’re no fun, Azariah.” He snickered before he disappeared.
Azariah spun around, blood leaked from her lip. Though all of the punches from the captain didn’t leave a mark somehow. She looked to her armor, and wondered if that was the case. She hadn’t had armor on in the dream that Erevan had her in. “Lynn.” Azariah spoke as she spun around. “We need to move.” She grasped her hand and pulled her forward. She looked to the doors, 7 of them. Azariah bit her lip slightly as she ran forward into a purple doorway. They ran down a long hallway and then a set of stairs until they stood in yet another circular room.
“You should have turned back.” Erevan’s voice echoed.
Azariah looked to Lynn, her breaths quick. She then looked back across the room as a gate was lifted up. Snarling hell beasts came galloping forward. The hounds began to circle around Azariah and Lynn. Azariah pulled her dagger and lunged forward. She slammed her knee into the chest of one and then stabbed her dagger into the head of another. She was knocked to the side by another and stumbled before she slashed its throat. Another leaped into the air and ripped her dagger from her hands. Azariah tossed a throwing knife which stabbed into the eye of the beast as she ran for her blade. It clattered against the floor. She tucked and rolled forward and spun around just in time to get pinned to the ground. “Lynn!” She screamed as the beast chomped its drooling jaws just inches from her face. Her dagger was just a foot away, she couldn’t reach it, she squeezed her eyes shut trying to focus, she couldn’t stop thinking about the torture, the nightmare that Erevan had created for her…

You know what is the most painful thing in the world?
Lynn stood in a room of complete darkness. A spotlight of rays shone down in one single spot – exactly where Lynn stood. She gripped her shield and looked around – waiting for something to jump out at her.
The Truth
Suddenly before here were two figures. They were on their knees – looking up to a younger Lazarus. Lazarus had long black hair, his beard was trimmed and kept nicely. He wore a glorious set of armor. No crown on his head. He was young then, just a prince, about 18 or so. He stood over the woman, who was likely his age. A human.
“I cannot believe you have done this to me” he grit his teeth. “You have brought shame to your royal blood line, brought shame to me!” he cried out and slammed the back of his hand against her cheek. He turned then and stared to the elf man. “And you – you have tainted her, tricked her, you did this!” he stepped over a small basket. It was woven by vines, inside was a cooing baby. Lazarus lifted the baby and held it in his hand – squeezing slightly. The baby let out a mind numbing cry.
The elven man stood and stumbled forward – grasping at Lazarus’s hand “Let her go!” He shouted. Lazarus turned and kicked him directly in the gut. “We were to be wed!” he shouted and set the baby back down. “We were going to bring two kingdoms together, we were going to be King and Queen – we were going to make things better!” he shouted and shook his head. Lazarus was crying this entire time. “I loved you!” he shouted and then stepped back, he was fighting himself in this moment. His rage boiled.
The Elf slowly stood and shook his head. “Are you so sure of that?”
“Please!” The woman shouted to the Elf. The Elven man stepped forward and shook his head.
Lazarus quickly moved forward and grabbed the man by his neck. He then stabbed him swiftly in the gut. Once. Twice. Again. Again. The Elf’s eyes grew wide, his mouth dropped open. “I curse you Lazarus. Shall you never sire” his voice was broken and weak - then the Elf moved his hands up to Lazarus’ head and cupped it. A burst of power left his fingers and filled Lazarus’s body.
Lazarus stumbled back and cried out as pain wrecked his body. He was surrounded in shadows – a moment passed and they disappeared, sinking into his skin and absorbing into him. Lazarus grit his teeth and kicked the woman to the side. “May you suffer without him” he spat down and grabbed the basket, with the baby, and walked off.
The woman crawled across the ground – her face was bloodied. “Nooo!!!” She cried out loudly. “Lynnlyss!” she shouted “My baby!”
Suddenly Lynn stumbled back – gasping as the air seemed to be sucked out of her chest. “No” she shook her head.
That’s right. Your existence caused all of this. You. You are the reason thousands of Elves have been murdered. You are the reason for his hatred.
There was a cackle in the room. The blackness faded and reality came forward. Lynn fell to her knees. Her sword and shield fell to the ground in a clatter. She gripped her head and leaned down. She tucked her head in between her knees slightly, forehead touching the stone ground. She sobbed quietly. “No” she whispered.

“Lynn!” Azariah cried out as the beast put all of its weight against her chest. Her armor protected her from getting crushed. “Lynn please!” She glanced to the side to see Lynn sitting on the floor, her head in her knees, sobbing.
She can’t help you now. Erevan cackled.
Azariah shut her eyes tightly, “Focus Az…” She whispered to herself. She gripped onto the beast, keeping its snapping jaws from her face. Suddenly her hands filled with flames. The smell of charred flesh entered her nostrils as she slammed her fist into the side of the hellhound. She flipped the beast to the side and just as she stood shadows surrounded her. “Fight me!” She screamed.
The shadows swirled around her and the demon’s eyes appeared in the darkness. He growled as he rushed forward. He slammed her back into the wall, the world around her became visible again. She could see Lynn across the room, crying still. Azariah let out a gasp as the air was pushed from her lungs. Her eyes looked to Lynn just as the demon landed several punches in on her body. Her breaths seemed to echo, everything went silent. She looked up to the creature before her, it snarled and slammed its fist into the side of her head. Azariah crumpled and fell to the side, to her hands and knees. Her eyes looked to Lynn. Her breaths shook. She grit her teeth and pushed herself up she dodged a swing from the demon and pulled her bow grip from the holster. She aimed in and released one, two, three arrows into his chest. The demon staggered before he roared in anger.
Azariah released another arrow as he rushed toward her. It sliced through his flesh, blood ran down his chest now. She aimed in and released another arrow just as he slammed into her. “Lynn…” Azariah cried out softly as she was slammed against the wall. Her feet were lifted from the floor, she trembled as she looked down. The demon had released his blades into her. She let out gasps as the beast chuckled. The bow grip clattered to the ground, the form of the bow disappearing as it fell, the ice shattering as soon as it hit the ground. Azariah reached to her thigh and pulled one of her throwing daggers, she gripped it tightly within her fingers and slammed it into the left eye of the demon. She twisted it causing a sickening pop from his socket as she drove the blade up to the hilt into his skull.
Azariah fell to the floor suddenly, she crumpled to her hands and knees, blood dripped from her mouth. “Lynn….” She collapsed weakly to her side, she held her hand over one of the stab wounds.
“She can’t save you.” Erevan spoke as he walked up to her side and knelt before her. He chuckled slightly. “You are strong willed, Azariah, I admire that.”
“Let her go.” Azariah spoke weakly, choking on a bit of blood in her mouth. “Just…let her go…kill me…let her go…” Her body shuddered.
“Erevan.” Hanali spoke as she stepped from the shadows of the room. She shoved him back away from Azariah. “Stop toying with her.” Her voice was harsh, not smooth like before.
Erevan snarled and drew his swords. “You’re interrupting.” He took a step forward.
Hanali pulled a sword from her hip, a beautifully designed sword with flower designs engraved into it. “You’ll kill her.”
“So, you haven’t stopped me before.” He moved forward and slashed at her.
Hanali blocked him easily and then kicked into his chest, sending him stumbling backward. “This is a Thalor descendent.” She spoke, “You know this, yet you still try to kill her?” She parried another one of his attacks and grazed the side of his face with her sword, causing a black blood to ooze from his skin.
“I’m not just going to give it to them!” Erevan snarled before he disappeared into the shadows.
Hanali looked to Azariah whom had fallen unconscious. She sighed lightly before she sheathed her sword and stepped to Lynn. She knelt down before her and cupped her cheek. “What happened….” She spoke and stared into Lynn’s eyes. “What he did to the elves, you are not to blame. It was his own actions.” Her voice was sweet. “This isn’t your fault, Lynn.” She brushed a tear away. “Don’t give in to his darkness, don’t let go of what you love.” She placed her hand over Lynn’s heart for a moment and then glanced to Azariah for a moment before she disappeared.
Azariah was motionless as she lay on the ground, her nose bled slightly and a bit of blood leaked from her mouth, but the injuries that Erevan made the demon inflict on her were not there…
**
“Let me go!” Azariah spun in circles in the darkness. She had her dagger drawn, her brows furrowed.
“Now why would I do that?” Erevan snickered. “You’re too much fun, too hard to break.” He paused a moment, “But I’ll break you, Azariah, I promise.”
Azariah fell to her knees, she gripped at her neck, it felt as though she was being choked. Her dagger clattered to the ground. She shut her eyes tightly and let out a cry, her eyes glowed a bright blue and a burst of power expelled from her body, breaking his hold on her…
**
Azariah took in a quick breath, her eyes fluttered. Her body ached. She rolled to her side as blood dripped from her nose to the tile of the floor. She pushed herself up and brushed away the blood. “Lynn…?” She whispered and looked around the room.

Lynn glanced up slightly as the goddess came to her side. In all of the anguish - she felt a moment of release. Light. Comforting warmth. She glanced back down and squeezed her eyes shut... she was trying to focus. “You’ve got it” A voice range in the distance. “Lynn” Lynn focused in on the deep voice. When she lifted her head she saw a man standing before – an elf. She slowly stood and stared to him for a long moment. He had long brown hair that was braided and tied back. His pointed ears were perfect, flawless like his skin and body. He slowly stepped forward and reached out to her. “My daughter” he whispered. Lynn reached forward and grasped his hand. He pulled her into a long hug and squeezed her gently. “I’m sorry my love” he whispered and kissed her forehead. “Just before I died... I cast part of my soul to follow you... I’ve always been here” he whispered and stepped back. “I am proud of you.. Lynn” he held both of her shoulders. His eyes looked into hers and then he smiled. “Everything... is going to be okay” he nodded. “I will give you something I wish I could have given you a long time ago. Every elf deserves this day – the day they discover their gifts” he smiled then and pressed his finger against her forehead. Lynn gasped, her head jerked to view the ceiling. She had come out of the dream state. On her forehead was a tree that etched into her skin. It glowed a gentle white. In that moment she felt an extreme rush of power flood her body. She squeezed her hand shut – and then released it. The room flashed a bright white, Lynn’s body began to float into the air as she unlocked her natural essence. All around her giant blades float into the air, circling around her body, like a wall of swords. They were all glowing a bright red – like the blade their last God wielded. She landed on the ground, the blades continuing to circle her like second nature. She held her hand out – four blades hovered over her arm, facing outward – ready to fire, like bullets.
