As Hutch helped lift Adelina she leaned against him, thankful for his assistance. She gazed to the room as he led her forward. Her breaths began to slow as her body accepted the changes in her being. She looked to the relics and the paintings her eyes carefully looking over everything. Adelina then looked to Rey when she’d touched her shoulder. She gave a nod and followed her up the stairs to the jewel. Her eyes looked to it as Rey slipped it away for safe keeping. She found herself gazing up to the huge statue as Rey thumbed through the book. The glow in her eyes still remained as bright as embers within a fire.
She looked down to the leather-bound book that was handed to her. Her thumb ran over the intricate engravings. She opened the book as Rey questioned of the prophecy. The very first page had a woman on the cover, a woman that Adelina did not recognize, she stood with her fingertips on her pregnant belly, a man that looked much like her father stood near. This woman, she had tipped ears. Adelina stared to the page, she ran her fingertips over the drawing. She glanced to Hutch. “It’s my story.” She spoke as her eyes lifted to look at Rey. She closed the book then. “I can read it on the Odessa.” She shivered slightly, the room was cold to her. She glanced to Hutch whom watched her with worried eyes. “Perhaps there is something on the prophecy here? The elf....” There was a long pause as Adelina looked to her blood stained hands. Her breath quaked. “She said it was so, that we would uncover the truth...so there must be something...” She nodded as they walked from the room. Adelina stared to the pooled blood upon the ground as she trailed behind Rey. Her eyes stared to the blood, sticking like a magnet to metal. She grit her teeth as she hurried to catch up, her arms hugged the large book to her chest. “I can’t do that again, Rey.” She whispered softly, her voice cracked. “I can’t.” She shook her head.
Thorondan roared from his perch. He swooped down and switched positions, watching over the two. He roared happily at the sight of Adelina. The princess looked up to the dragon with cautious eyes she took in a deep breath as they made their way back to the ship. She was silent. Shaken. She followed Rey into the captain’s suite and she sat down at the table where she lay the book before her. Adelina opened the cover again. Her eyes stared once more to the image. “King Merek Wykeham was at a loss, unable to bare children with the Queen. He sought other avenues. He found a woman by the name of Ailmar, one of the last Highborn elves to survive the hunt. Merek was of a Highborn lineage as was Ailmar, the prophets led Ailmar to Merek and thus the beginning of Adelina came.”
Adelina lifted her eyes from the page she drew her brows together. She sat down as she flipped the page. “The High Elf council sealed away artifacts and parchment of our time. Only the key, as the prophet told it may open the doorways to these places, only Adelina would be capable of such a feat.” She took in a breath as she flipped through the pages. It was like flipping through a novel of her life. Images of her in ballgowns throughout the years, her sitting at a desk learning....her mother...
Adelina flipped to the very last page of the book. It showed her killing the elf and opening the door. It showed the magic surging from the room. “With great power comes great feats and great enemies. Adelina opened the doorway to the first temple only to release dark magic that had been sealed away by the council centuries ago. That was not the only thing that was awakened. Adelina’s true Highborn roots were drawn forward from her tapping into her magic, elven markings now lined her skin and her ears became tipped to show her true nature.” Adelina paused she stood and moved to the dresser that Rey had in her room. Her eyes stared into the mirror at the intricate markings upon her face, she reached up and touched the long slender tipped ear. “Gods...” She breathed as she stared into her golden ringed eyes. “Rey...” She turned as fear gripped her. She rushed back to the book.
“At the side of the captain of the Odessa, Adelina would help guide the crew to the next jewel. Only her power could activate the compass and only her will could allow it to guide the Odessa through the treacherous waters of the south bend....” Adelina ran her fingertips over the ripped pages. Several pages were missing from the back of her book. “It’s missing...so much...” She breathed as she drew her brows together. She looked up to Rey, “Where are the answers? Where is the prophecy?” She muttered and shook her head as she sat down in the chair heavily, defeated.

Rey walked into the captain suite, her fingers reached into her pocket and she pulled the soul stone from her pocket. She listened as Adelina read her story out loud. Rey's steps lead her to a locked box sitting on her dressed. She lit a candle and she tilted the stone from side to side. She could see the jagged edge - it was once part of a bigger stone, broken into four. There was a pulsing red color in the center, almost the same as a beating heart...
Rey unlocked the box and set the stone in the center of it - ontop of a plush small cushion. She had this box created specifically for this very item. It was a box bound to Odessa, it could not be removed unless Rey took it out. When opened - nothing would appear inside, to anyone but her. Rey turned her head and spotted Odessa sitting on the edge of the bed, her legs crossed as she listened to Adelina read aloud.
"Such a tragedy, I love a good play" Odessa spoke and then she placed a hand on her crossed leg, eyes glancing to Rey and then to Adelina. Odessa stood and walked over to Adelina with a sort of swagger. She placed her hand on her shoulder and then she looked to her for a long moment. "Such beautiful markings..." she whispered and then she raised a brow. Odessa lifted the book then and tilted her head from side to side as she flipped the pages, she even chuckled slightly. "A book that is supposed to tell the complete story... I'd say the temptation of such a power is mighty, one to even cause wars over... but most of all - to know your future and then try to change it? Oh well, that would just break everything" she chuckled and set the book down. "Some one very wise ripped the future pages out of the book..."
Odessa walked over to the dresser and stared to the box for a long time and then she turned, smiling. "You've done well, 3 more stones to go. The prophecy...." she glanced to the book. "The guardian of the cove? Is a liar" she chuckled. "She told you there was a prophesy so that you would go through with opened the vault. For the ghosts of the Cove are... quite angry people" she laughed then. "I knew of this, of course, every Elf of olden times knows. They Elfs of the Cove? Trapped in their vault... well, my husband and I did that" she grinned wildly. "It's a long story, one of which I don't feel like telling. So, basically. That means that Odessa is one mighty fine target" she cackled then. "Good thing you can't die huh?"
"The Vial of Witches... will capture their souls once more, you'll need that if you even want to dream about sailing the seas..." she spoke and then she smirked. "Thanks again, ladies" and then she disappeared.
Rey grit her teeth and then took a deep breath. "Well, that sounds great" she looked to Adelina and then her brows pulled together. "From what it sounds like... I've read about this before. The Coming of the Dead, I just didn't realize that their chamber was... that chamber" she placed a hand on the wardrobe and sighed. "The Vial of the Witches, yeah." she glanced up then and looked to Adelina. "Your father - I think, I remember, I think he has it. That is how he controls the dragon, I heard a long time ago that he seized it from Captain Wilkerson, but I didn't think anything of it. And not to mention, Wilker is still in his damn cell..." she took in a breath. "Sounds like... we're taking you back home, huh?"
Rey then stumbled back slightly. A flush feeling of warmth hit her cheeks, the sea breeze was cold through the open window. "You feel that?" she smirked "I can feel that" she rushed outside. The men stood on the deck, having taken all of the goods from the Temple now.
"It's time!" Rey shouted and then grinned. The men all cheered loudly. "Let's get out of this hell whole, get some barrels of Ale, and get fucked huh?!" She shouted and then she gripped onto one of her lines. Easily she leaped to the wheel. "Prepare to undock" she held a hand out. It felt good. So good. The warm sun on her face. The cool salty air.
Gerald stepped forward and held something together, a small square wrapped in tin. "Gerald you sweet sweet man" Rey took the chocolate and broke off a piece, she then handed him a piece as well. "Thank the gods" she spoke as she chocolate piece hit her tongue and melted away. "Set sail!" she shouted.
Her hand lifted high into the air. The wind kicked up, a spray of ocean frosted over her being. A beautiful Maelstrom appeared once more and they pressed towards it. "I've got it this time, men" she looked over to Gerald who grasped her hand. Everyone's feet were bound to the deck. The ship cut inward and shot downward with speed, circling the Maelstrom twice before finding its core.
Rey looked up directly then. The maelstromes edges began to fall inward. A splash of water slammed onto the deck, and then it all crashed inward, the spiral of the water calming down within seconds. Rey could see the sun as clear as ever, its ray cascading through the layers of the sea. She let them sit for a long moment, taking in the peace and quiet - the beautiful of the crystal sea. Then with a shift of her hand - the ship burst. Like a whale emerging from the sea - a huge splash of water, spraying bits, and sound of crashing water. The ship sailed into the air briefly before landing down.
They had emerged on other side of the wall, they didn't have to go through the crack again, which was a blessing. Rey grinned then and leaped forward. Having her feeling back - gave her this rush of life, and since she used her magic she was full of it. Almost like she couldn't control it, it coursed through her. Her lips landed on the crows nest and then she jumped up once more - until she was atop the highest sail on her ship. The men shouted and laughed - it was an overwhelming feeling. This moment was worth everything in the world. To go from a shell of a being to full of feeling, emotion, sensory, life- that was life.
Gerald grinned and then held his hand out. "Take the Wheel... ma'dam" he smiled to Adelina and nodded. His eyes glanced to Rey - who stood ontop of the mast, hands wide open with a glowing smile.

Adelina took in a breath as Odessa appeared, speaking of the events as if they were a play. At first she couldn't even summon the power to speak. Odessa touched her shoulder she could feel the power of the ghostly being as she thought her. She stared into Odessa’s eyes, tears welled up in her own. Her hands balled into fists as she stood there after Odessa had laughed and disappeared.
As Rey spoke Adelina stared to her. Her breaths began to quake. This was all a game to Odessa. She took in a breath, “I....I killed her....I killed that elf...” Her brows drew together, her breaths shook. “I ripped her heart out...” She stared to where Odessa had last stood before the stone. “I...” She grit her teeth. “My father?” She questioned as she looked to Rey. “The vial...” She pondered and drew her brows together. “Yes...he has a vial....he keeps it locked away...I touched it once when I was a child...and I nearly lost my hand for even touching the thing...its glows...a white color...I think...” She shook her head. “I can’t remember...” She sighed heavily. She was filled with so many emotions, anger...confusion...sorrow...she’d murdered someone...it didn’t matter that the elf wanted it...it matter that Adelina had done it...she’d followed through.
Though her brows tucked together then as Rey stumbled back. The wave of feeling washing over the crew. Adelina couldn’t help but smile then, all of her anger washing away in that moment. She rushed out onto the decks with Rey and chuckle escaped over her lips. Adelina watched as the men rushed about as their captain announced they were to leave. She found her way to Rey’s side. She gripped the railing as she felt the warmth of the sun, it felt incredible. She could imagine laying on the beach, the seagulls cried as they flew around near the docks. She glanced to Rey as she easily build the Maelstrom. Her magic seemed intensified with her feeling. Adelina watched forward this time, her eyes were not filled with fear but excitement. She wasn’t as cautious. She gripped onto the railing as they sailed down to the depths of the sea. As the water crashed around her the icy cold stole the air from her lungs. Her golden eyes glowed as they remained beneath the water, bubbles floated up from her nose and mouth as she exhaled what air she had left.
As the ship soared to the surface Adelina grinned. She watched as Rey ran about like a child in a candy store. She looked to Gerald as he offered her the wheel. “I’m not sure where to go...” Adelina spoke as she watched him.
Gerald grinned to her, “You know exactly where to go.” He winked to her as he walked off.
Adelina’s fingers curled around the wheel she looked up to Rey and let out a chuckle. Though the smile fell from her face as she thought of home...what would the king and queen say to her appearance? An elf. She looked like a full blooded elf straight from the books. She wondered then, if maybe there was more to the story...if maybe her father wasn’t even her father? Or maybe something else rather. Was she a summoning of magic? An enchantment upon the woman that was her true mother? Was she a plan that her father had....had he planned to use her magic for something in a time of need? He’d sent an entire fleet after her to retrieve her...
Adelina let out a breath slowly as she turned the wheel a few clicks. She glanced to the crew that sang pirate songs and leaped around. They all chuckled and smiled. Yet Adelina stood at the wheel of the ship, her eyes forward her corners of her mouth slack. She leaned on the wheel slightly as she thought of her mother...the Queen...the woman she’d thought to be her mother. Pain filled her soul in that moment, she wished she’d never read the book or even open its pages.
Adelina glanced up as she heard the flapping of wings, Thorondan flew above them. High in the skies. He swooped down, his wings hitting the surface of the ocean. He roared at her and soared back up into the skies. Adelina looked up to him, her hands still holding onto the wheel she chuckled.
“He’s a gorgeous beast.” Hutch spoke a smile upon his lips. “Why do you look so sad, Princess?” He questioned softly. “Can’t you feel that? The sensation of life? Doesn’t it make you smile?” He leaned against the railing as he watched her.
Adelina looked to him a soft smile upon her lips. “Hutch, I am an Elf, a highborn elf...and I must return to my home...the place that was my kingdom for my entire life...and...” She lifted a hand and touched her tipped ear. “And I look like this...” She whispered and let out a chuckle.
Hutch smiled, he reached forward and ran a fingertip along her ear. “And this is a problem?” He questioned with a wink before he slipped away.
The sun was beginning to set, the stars were beginning to twinkle in the skies. Adelina stared up to the stars and the moon. She clicked the handle of the wheel a few more times adjusting their direction, a soft smile upon her lips as the boom of the huge ship adjusted and the sails tightened to the winds once again.

Rey soared into the air, her boots landing on the bow of the ship with ease. She placed both hands on the railing and stared out to the great sea. She took in a deep breath and closed her eyes as she felt the ship shift - she could feel the ship pick up speed as the sails grew taught. Footsteps came from behind and a familiar voice crept over. "It's not like you to let someone else sail the ship" Rod stood behind her, his hands clasped in front of him as he looked out to the great sea before them.
"She learns fast, hm?" Rey turned and leaned her back against the railing, her gentle green hues looking over the gruff sailor before her. Rod gave a chuckle and then nodded, he looked up to the sails and sighed softly.
"She does, hm?" He grinned then "What will happen when the curse is broken?" Rod questioned, eyes watching his captain.
"You'll live your final life, until sweet sweet death takes ahold of you. You will be free..." she crossed her arms then and thought for a long moment. "You've been on this ship for damn near eternity, couldn't imagine you being anything but a pirate"
"Do you intend on sailing when you are free?" Rod questioned, his eyes studying her closely.
"I wont stop sailing until Odessa is on the bottom of the sea, and when my time comes - that is exactly where she is going." she grinned then.
"I will always be your ship mate, Captain" Rod grinned then "I couldn't ask for a better life, don't think I haven't loved every minute of it. There are people who would kill for our life, you know." he looked out to the sea - to the sun that was setting on the horizon. "We see things that people only read about, we do things that people only dream about, hm? Why would I want to go settle down, find love, and own a farm or something? Hah! I much rather plunder the sea and take on journeys that make me question my choices, my actions, ah, those are the best" Rod turned then, but he paused before opening the door to the Bow Room. "Odessa has had many captains before, but none as grand as Captain Rey, she will go down in the books as the most historical Captain to rule the seas, and the best of friend to her mates" he glanced at her over his shoulder. "I am with Captain Rey Silverstine until my very last breath, don't you forget that" he then stepped through the door and it shut behind him with a creaky thud.
Rey smirked and then turned back to the water. The stretching colors of the sun cascade over the ocean, a sweet reflection upon her marbled eyes. She took in a breath and slowly let it out. After which she turned and made her way to the deck. She found herself standing at the wheel, eyes watching Adelina. There was something striking about Adelina - the way she held the wheel, the way gaze stared forward. She could tell that she was in thought, and maybe even distraught...
"Hey" Rey finally broke the silence and stepped closer, a few feet away now. "You've learned real fast hm? Takes some people a long time to figure out exactly how to catch the wind like that..." she pointed then. "In the distance you can see that darker color? Like the water wont mix?" she pointed. "It swerves to the right slightly and the cuts inward. And actually - if the sun was higher and you scoped - you'd see we are not far off the coast, a few hundred miles. We are on the Southern Ridge Tectonic plate, which generally... Along the plates is the great currents. That dark color is exactly that..." she nodded. "Put the keel line right in the center of it, and have the boys tighten the secondary sail about... 45 degrees, so that it will catch the winds that are pushing this way" she moved her hands in the direction of the wind, another hand acting as the boat. "It is not every day that the currents and winds are on our side, often I make specific trips knowing this, there is a lot of planning some times when it comes to getting some where the fastest, learning where everything is... its a tough one, but I've mapped out the primary currents, and sometimes you can see them like so" she nodded.
As the boat turned slightly, the men doing as commanded - the ship picked up more speed. "Perfect" Rey smiled "You are a natural you know... can you feel it? That quake of speed in the wheel, mmm it is like a sweet sweet wine, keeps me drunk on the sea" she pulled a bar from her pocket. She broke off a piece of chocolate and handed it to her and then ate her own piece, meanwhile she just stood and watched, allowing Adelina the opportunity to sail.
"I know... this wasn't easy for you, and it is only going to be harder. I am surprised, and a little proud. You've done well, for a Princess" Rey grinned and then she reached a hand over and placed it on the wheel. "Have some ale with the boys, get some rest..." she stepped before the wheel then and nodded. "We should... be back at your home soon. I am not sure how we will retrieve the Vial, or what to do at all. I usually wing that stuff" she gave a hearty chuckle then and then her eyes fell upon the dark sky. The stars lit up, the milky-way thick over the sea, which twinkled in response. "I will be here for you, all the way" she nodded. "And all of these men - they would give their eternal life for you..." she smiled "Just know that, you are part of this family now..." she gave a final nod. "Off you go".

Adelina’s golden hues shifted to Rey when she spoke. She hadn’t noticed her there, she’d been so deep in thought. So many thoughts ran through her mind. She was so incredibly focused on the sails of the ship that she forgot to look to the deck around her. Her eyes moved over the sea to the darkness that Rey spoke of. She gave a nod as she listened to the captain. She loved when she taught her of the sea. Everything she knew of the sea so far, besides the alignment of the stars, Rey had taught her. She listened to her and did as she was told a smile curved up the edge of her lips as she caught the current and the wind. A laugh escaped over her lips as she looked to Rey as she spoke of the sea and the feeling of the speed. “It feels incredible.” Adelina watched the captain, she glanced to the chocolate and happily popped the piece into her mouth. It melted easily and she nearly melted where she stood. It was the best tasting chocolate she’d ever had. Nothing that she’d had could hold a light to this chocolate.
Adelina’s smile faded away slightly as Rey began to speak again. She let out a long breath as she allowed the captain to take over. She glanced to Rey, “I’m not a princess anymore, remember?” She breathed her eyes stung as she spoke the words. Each time she spoke it out loud it became more real to her, more believable. Though she still felt as though she was in a dream, she still felt as though she would wake any moment and she would be back in the castle....back to her life that was planned every second and every minute of the day.
Adelina took in a deep breath, she didn’t speak anymore before she slipped below the decks finding her way to her room. She lay back on the bed and closed her eyes, the simple rocking of the ship began to lull her to sleep. Though her mind blocked her with vibrant images of her blade stabbing into the elf’s chest. She sat up several times, her chest heaving quickly, tears streaming down her cheeks. Eventually after several hours of trying to get even a moment of sleep Adelina stood from the bed. She found her way to the upper decks where she gripped onto the railing at the bow of the ship. She allowed the ocean to spray against her face, she relished in the feeling. Her eyes looked out over the sea and up to the stars. Eventually Adelina made her way to Rey’s side, her fingertips curled gingerly around the railing as she stood on Rey’s left. She was silent as she watched the booms move about to the adjustments that Rey made in their directions.
“I am glad to be apart of this family.” She spoke, her voice soft. “Please forgive me if I do not seem grateful.” Her words were almost a whisper. “I am incredibly grateful, more than I believe you will ever realize.” She looked to Rey with her golden hues. “Tomorrow I am to face my father the king...and he is to see me as a highborn elf...something that no doubt he has known all along and was keeping secret from me so that he may use me in some way to gain power...unfortunately that isn’t a surprise coming from him. If killing my mother were to allow him gain, he would have done that as well, if he didn’t.” She shook her head.
Adelina took in a deep breath as she watched the white caps of the waves, “I can’t sleep Rey.” She spoke with a tinge of sadness behind her voice. “Each time I close my eyes all I can see is the Elf, my blade diving into her chest, my hands pulling her bone away and ripping her heart from the hole I created...” She swallowed then, her voice trembled a bit. “You say is will only get harder and yet....I can’t imagine anything worse.”

For months the men had hunted down the best ale in the lands they had come to land, coveting it for the day their feelings would return to them. They had to base this off of pure word at the time, they would question and poll men around the taverns for the quoted best ale around. The moment their feelings came to they had pulled the kegs onto the keg and tapped them happily. Mugs were handed out, ale splashed the deck, they would shout to Rey to slow down since the ship was rocking too heavily to pour the perfect mug.
Rey chuckled and released one sail, the ship came to a smooth coast on the night sea. It was calm and sweet, serene, as if this was all meant to be exactly as it was. Rey watched the men throw the night. They came to the kegs and then would slip back under the deck, some hung out, talked and enjoyed each other. Rey turned her head as Adelina came up to her, she raised a brow. “One day you will come to resent me for it, but for now your gratitude is accepted” she gave a slight chuckle and then she sighed deeply. “I don’t expect the transition to be swift, and our history will always catch up to us. Some day we have to confront that life we left because the reality is never left in the first place. Those...who run never get far. Odessa is an addition not a replacement...at some point you have to go home...you have to say goodbye” she glanced to Gerald and nodded, who took over the ship for her.
“As far as the elf....” she took in a breath and lead Adelina to the rail side. Her fingers wrapped around the rail and the stared out for a long moment. “Come on, let’s hsvr a drink” she turned then and smiled. She grasped Adelina’s hand and lead her down to the deck. She grasped onto two glass mugs, she twirled slightly as she swooped down and filled them perfectly,a gentle head of flavor on the pour. She handed Adelina a mug and lead her to the bow deck, which was quiet and empty.
Rey took a long drag of the ale and she smacked her lips happily. “Nice body, good flavor” she moved and pulled her body onto the rail and sat, mug on her knee. “When I first became captain I was....young and stupid, so not much has changed. “ she laughed and then took another sip. “Becoming captain was never my intention, I didn’t know entirely what it meant to be the captain of Odessa. I refused to feed Odessa, and she got....very pissed. You see, after the long winded decline of our feelings, our emotions fade, and then we go into a sort of rage. She fills us with her rage and lust. All of this ships past of terror was always then, the sinking of every ship that crossed paths, the plundering and... what gave pirates such a bad reputation was this blood lust. While we are in it...we are aware and cognitive but we can’t control, its like being surffocated and the only time we can breath is...” she shook her head then. “We drink to forget those memories, I can....remember every life I’ve taken, and it haunts me every time I sleep....” she took a long sip. “Then that bitch takes away our feelings, our ability to get drunk and forces us to live with those memories. She is sort of a genius when it comes to long term torture” she laughed a little harder, a smooth buzz coming over her. It felt....amazing.
“Anyways...just know that you’re not alone, and It’ll get better...I hope” she finished her drink and then jumped off the rail. “More” she laughed and then twirled back to the deck. She filled her drink once more. Just as she did music began to play. “Oooh” Rey smiled brightly, she downed her entire mug right then. The few men on the deck cheered and laughed. Rey skipped over to Adelina and grasped her hands and twirled her, forcing her to dance. But it wasn’t the dance of a ball, or anything like that, it was goofy and random, she threw her hand sup in the air and twirled happily. Laughing. She reached forward and stole one of the men’s ales and finished it for him, and handed the mug back, just to join the dance once more...
When Rey woke she was laying on her bed. Her eyes opened slowly and she smiled slowly, a familiar soft arm was resting on her shoulder. She slowly sat to see Adelina sprawled over her bed. She sucked in a breath of air and then glanced down. She couldn’t remember the night. She drank a lot. Danced a lot. And now she was naked. Rey looked to Adelina, her soft flesh in the dim morning light through the curtains. Rey grinned to herself, she couldn’t remember.... she pulled her clothes on and then she slipped from the room.
“Captain” Hutch stood with a beaming smile, he even chuckled.
“Shut your rotten mouth” she snapped and then laughed. The deck was clean and perfect, the men were ready.
“We are moments from the port, what is the plan?” He questioned as she walked up the stairs. Her fingers were adjusting her tunic and belt, she fixed her sword on her hip and then nodded.
“We won’t dock until Adelina wakes, once the king knows Odessa is here we won’t be able to avoid him, so we need to have a plan....when...she wakes” Rey glanced to Hutch and then throat. “Breakfast, go”

Adelina didn’t look to Rey at first when she spoke. Her hues looked over the men that carried on and clinked glasses together. They were happy. She’d never quite seen anyone to seem as happy as they were in this moment. Though with the feelings returning, Adelina only found sorrow, pain. It was an overwhelming feeling that no matter how much she tried, she couldn’t quite wash it away. You have to say goodbye The words were bittersweet, almost painful like the sting of a bee. Adelina’s eyes moved to Rey and she slowly nodded, her words were wise. She understood at least...the agony of which this placed the princess.
Adelina followed the captain, her eyes looking to the men, her own fingers found the railing of the bow, she looked to Rey just as her hand was grasped and she was towed over to the keg. “Rey...” She began but a mug was pushed into her hands. Her eyes locked on Rey in that moment, the smile, the sheer joy that came from her. Adelina followed her once more to the bow where it was still and quiet. She lifted the mug to her lips and was pleasantly surprised by the flavor. She could taste the different spices of the ale. She closed her eyes as she leaned her back against the railing. She took a long drink as Rey began to speak. Adelina chuckled to Rey calling herself young and stupid. “You’re not stupid, Rey.” She was halfway through her ale by then, her empty stomach caused her to feel the effects rather quickly. Her cheeks began to turn pink as she continued to listen.
The stories that the captain told her sent a chill down her spin. She’d heard horrors of the Odessa. She’d read stories. She finished her ale just as Rey finished her story. She gave a smooth smile, it felt good to realize that she wasn’t alone. That, Rey understood her sorrow because of what she’d been through. She knew she would never forget killing the Elf. But, she also knew that her future would hold much worse things if they were to get the remaining three pieces of the stone.
Adelina watched as Rey leaped over the rail to get more ale. She chuckled as she followed her. A full mug was placed into her hands and she took a swig of it as she watched the captain, a smirk curved up her lips. Then without warning Rey skipped toward her, she was pulled into a dance like she’d never had before. Laughter escaped over Adelina’s lips as they bounced around. Ale after ale. The world felt light. Adelina remembered wrapping her arms around Rey whom held her up as she stumbled. Giggles escaped over her lips as she’d stared into the captain’s eyes.
Adelina woke, her eyes fluttered open, she could feel the smoothness of the sheet pulled over her torso. She lay there a moment, her eyes stared up to the ceiling. The ceiling of Rey’s room. Her heart began to flutter, a blush rushed over her cheeks as the memories of the night before flooded her mind. She sat up slowly as she held the sheet to her body. Her hair was a mess upon her head, she glanced about the room. “Rey?” She asked, her voice cracked slightly. She bit her lip as more of the events of the past evening bombarded her.
Adelina stood quickly and stumbled slightly, her legs felt weak, her head light. A soft giggled escaped over her lips, she couldn’t stop smiling. It was a euphoria like nothing she’d ever felt and her mind couldn’t help but wander. She hadn’t had nearly enough ale to forget...
Adelina walked through the room, hunting for her clothing that was tossed about. Piece by piece she slipped into her clothing before she turned and stared at the bed. Her cheeks were like a wildfire at that moment. She leaned against the dresser, her arms tucked around her body, a wild grin upon her lips. She’d never felt like this. This was an entirely new feeling for her. Another chuckle came over her lips as she moved and lay on the bed. She took in a deep breath, the smell of Rey’s cabin was intoxicating. Her cheeks blushed again as she bit her lower lip.
Adelina took in a breath as she finally gathered the courage to leave Rey’s cabin. As she stepped out her eyes fell upon Rod whom looked to her with a smirk. Adelina felt her cheeks burn once again as she spun and rushed down below the decks. She needed something to eat, something to get this dizziness from her head. But was the dizziness really from hunger? She wasn’t entirely sure anymore. Adelina took in a breath as she rounded a corner and slammed into someone. She felt the hot sting of coffee upon her arm as she toppled to the ground in a clatter of dishes. She landed on top of the person and pushed herself up, her eyes wide.
Hutch looked up to Adelina a grin on his lips. “Good morning princess.” He watched her a moment. “A bit clumsy this morning?” He questioned with a chuckle. Food had fallen onto the floor around them.
Adelina sucked in a quick breath. “Oh...um...yeah...yeah I guess...” She bit her lip slightly, her cheeks bright pink. “I’m sorry Hutch.” She scrambled to her feet and helped him up before she started picking up the food.
Hutch knelt in front of her, a grin plastered upon his face. He reached forward and brushed a bit of her hair aside. “Hm.” He chuckled then.
Adelina felt his thumb as it had brushed against something tender on her collarbone. She took in a breath as she watched him. “Um...I should really get changed...” She gave a shy smile as she shifted and rushed down the hallway. Adelina rushed into her room and she moved to the dresser where she pulled her hair away from her shoulders and tilted her head to the side. Her eyes grew wide as she stared to the deep bruise upon her collarbone. She bit her lip again as she remembered just where it had come from.
Adelina stood for a moment and shook her head. “Get a hold of yourself.” She muttered softly before she opened one of the dresser drawers to pick out new clothing. She pulled a piece from the dresser and looked it over a moment. A soft smile curved up her lips as she changed. She wore a grey shirt beneath a white tunic that had open arms that tied together, exposing her upper arms. The torso of the shirt was a beautiful blue color that had intricate golden designs in it. She clipped on a belt that held a beautiful blue jewel. It seemed to glow as she clicked it into place. She attached her sword to her hip as she looked to herself in the mirror. To her surprise Odessa was sitting on the bed behind her, her legs crossed, a smile on her ghostly lips.
“That was a beautiful shirt on Harlow.” She spoke as she stood and came to the dresser. “She always wore this with it.” She opened a drawer that had been stuck closed. Odessa reached around Adelina’s neck and clipped a beautiful necklace into place. “There you are.” She grinned. “Are you ready to be the right hand?” Odessa grinned her eyes watching over Adelina.
Adelina stared to Odessa, “I...” She looked away and let out a breath. “Whatever Rey needs.” She looked back to the woman. “Whatever she needs I...” She fumbled with her hands slightly. “I’ll do it.”
Odessa grinned wildly as she watched the princess fidget. She chuckled before she disappeared leaving the princess alone. Adelina took in a breath as she managed to gather herself. She looked in the mirror and smiled to her appearance, the shirt accented her eyes, it brought out the curves of her body. It wasn’t baggy like all of the other clothing. This was almost as if it was made for her. She slipped from her room and made her way up to the deck.
Adelina glanced from the deck over the Portside of the ship, she could see the castle. She bit her lip slightly as she walked up the stairs. She came up to the wheel and took in a breath, a nervousness washing over her. “Rey.” She began, her eyes danced over Rey’s face, a smile curved up her lips and her cheeks tinted pink. "Rey I...um..."
Though this moment was short lived. A roar came from the skies. Adelina looked up just as Thorondan came swooping down. She let out a cry as the dragon grabbed her and zoomed off. Adelina struggled against his grasp as she was flown toward the city. “Thorondan!” She screamed.
The dragon growled as he adjusted her and tossed her up onto his back. Adelina nearly fell as she struggled to get a grip on his scales. “Stop!” She pleaded. The dragon scooped through the skies. The sound of an explosion rocked her ears as he flew over a ridge. The ridge that protected the kingdom. The sound of war filled her ears. Adelina held on tightly as she looked down to the battle that was being fought by knights of her kingdom. “Gods...” She breathed. Thorondan swooped down, fire shot from his jaws into the enemy. William’s soldier. The color of his kingdom’s army. Her breath caught in her chest as she watched the men scream in agony from the fires. “Stop! Stop it!” She beat her hand against the back of the dragon.
Thorondan swiftly turned around and flew toward the castle. Arrows flew forward toward them. One stuck Adelina in her thigh. She let out a yelp as she pain washed over her body. Another arrow struck her in her side, this caused her to topple from the back of the dragon and plummet toward the balcony of the castle. She landed harshly and gasped for air as it was knocked from her lungs. Thorondan roared as he flew down toward her, he burst into flames and disappeared.
The king rushed forward, “Adelina!” He reached to her and touched her cheek, blood leaked from her nose, her eyes had slipped shut. A grin curved up Merek’s lips as he looked over the markings upon her skin. He reached forward and touched her ears. “You’ve found your magic.” He chuckled. “Take her to the tower, do not let her leave her room.” The king pulled something from his pocket. A necklace. He clipped the metal choker around her neck and grinned as it lit up. Adelina began to take in shaken breaths, her body began to tense.
“My king?” A knight questioned.
“She is an elf.” Merek spoke, “She can’t be free.” He stared to the knight.
The knight hesitated a moment before he nodded. “Of course my king.” He bowed and lifted the princess into his arms.
**
Adelina coughed as she woke. She couldn’t breathe, she was dizzy. She scrambled to her feet and fell to her knees unable to keep her balance. She reached up and pulled at the device around her neck. It felt as though it was digging into her flesh. “What....” She couldn’t remember what happened.
“Just relax, Adelina.” Merek stepped forward and helped her to her feet. “Just relax dear.” He moved her to her bed, a gentle smile upon his lips. “You were kidnapped.” He searched her eyes. “You’ve been through a great deal, just rest.” He brushed her hair from her eyes.
“Where...” Her eyes fluttered as sleep threatened to consume her again.
“Shhh, be still, child.” The king sprinkled a glistening dust over her. Within seconds Adelina was fast asleep.

Rey turned her gaze as there was boot steps clicking on the wooden deck, headed directly to her. She tilted her head, her throat clearing slightly as her eyes fell upon Adelina. “Good morning...” she nodded with a smirk, her hands upon the wheel. Her hues glanced back over as Adelina went to speak once again – but there was a huge sound. Rey ducked slightly, her hands falling from the wheel – she rushed forward to wrap her arms about Adelina’s waist, but was not quick enough. Rey fell to the deck, her elbows grinding into the wood – she rolled over swiftly to watch the giant dragon fly away with Adelina.
Rey grit her teeth and swiftly stood, her hand reached for her waist and pulled her horn out – to which she blowed as loudly as she could. The men scrambled to the deck and looked to their captain. “Get your fucking weapons!” she shouted and then she turned the wheel. The ship caught wind and began forward, closer to the port. Rey watched the dragon fly directly to the castle. She could see fire and smoke – war on the country side, all the way against the walls of the castle.
“She is bound to me” A voice spoke, sly and cunning. Odessa was sitting on the rail, her legs crossed as she glanced over her shoulder to the castle. “And now the King seeks to keep her?” Odessa grinned. “I think not” she then disappeared.
Rey shut her eyes for a brief moment and then opened them once more. Her hues were a solid crystal blue – like a fresh marble stirring with the life of magic. Gerald looked to her for a long moment and then gave her an approving nod, he stepped forward and took the wheel in that moment. Rey clenched her fists and then opened her palms – fingers stretching out, her hands rose above her head. A furious wind kicked from the sea, the waves were growing higher and higher, a true threat to the port as well. She then sucked in a breath.
“Channel your rage” Odessa spoke, and then cracked a cackling laugh into the distance of Rey’s mind.
The bow of the ship lifted, the sail were taught and filled with wind. A gust pushed under the ship – and it suddenly lifted from the ocean completely. The hull and keel dripping, feet above the ocean. Rey let out a groan – a push of wind. The ship thrust forward in the air, flying right over the port. A huge shadow cast over, people from below stood staring upward. Odessa took flight.
The ship flew over the land until it came to the Castle, to the war that was below. Rey stood at the rail, her cannons loaded. “Fire!” she shouted. All 12 cannons fired at once as the ship tilted in the air – the cannonballs flying down to the ground. Huge bursts came from impact, chunks of land erupting, bodies flying. The ship moved slowly in a circle – firing round after round with intense speed, her men worked swiftly, until the battlefield was a pitted like the moon, and the armies retreated.
Rey looked over to the castle – when suddenly a shot fired off. Rey glanced down to see the King standing on the balcony of the highest tower, rifle in hand. Rey reached to her chest as she felt a sharp pain – a hold drilled right through her. Blood cascading over her attire. She then slumped – her body limp, falling right over the edge of Odessa.
Dust and dirt surrounded her limp body as she landed on the ground, the ships shadow over her. Her eyes dulled in color, until the magic faded. That is when Odessa crashed to the ground. The hull buckled and snapped as it broke, the entire ship rolled to its side, boom and sails digging into the ground. Her men lay sprawled on the battlefield, wounded and beaten.
“They’re dead, my king” The captain came rushing up the stairs.
“The Pirates of Odessa do not die... drag their bodies to the cells” he shouted. “Put the captain in the Torture Chamber... I will handle this myself....” The King looked to Adelina and then he left the room. “Do not let her out of your sight” he spat.
Rey’s eyes fluttered open.. the wound in her chest was healed. Though she was hazy, her chest felt like it was onfire, her head pounded brutally. She tried to move – but something stopped her. She pulled and tugged at her arms and legs, and then when she vision finally came to – she realized it. She had been captured. Strapped to an upright table, looking directly to a steel wall... She tried to use magic – but was too weak, she couldn’t, not after death. It would take time to heal...

The sound of the explosions brought Adelina’s eyes open again but she couldn’t move. She felt paralyzed. Through the night her consciousness came and went. She was alone. That was all she knew. “Rey...” She breathed at one point tears rolled down her cheeks.
“Princess?” A voice questioned.
Adelina took in shaken breaths, she could still feel the wounds from the arrows. Her vision blurred as she tried to move. She rolled and fell from the bed.
“Princess....what happened...?” A young woman rushed to her side, one of the servants. She rolled her to her side and lifted her to a seated position. She glanced to the door, on the other side knights stood, guarding. “Adelina...” The servant spoke her eyes looking into the princess’ dull eyes.
“Lilia...” Adelina breathed as she tugged at the contraption on her neck.
The girl shook her head. “Adelina don’t touch that.” She spoke and pulled her hand away gently.
“Rey...where....where is Rey...?” Adelina was in a daze, a confused state.
“Who is Rey?” Lilia asked softly, her eyes glanced to the door, she seemed nervous.
“The Captain...Rey...I need to...” She pushed herself up but nearly fell again, Lilia caught her. “I need to find her...”
Lilia set Adelina on the edge of her bed. “Addie...you aren’t well.” She searched her eyes. “You aren’t well at all.” She brushed a bit of hair from her face. “I brought you breakfast...Addie...you can’t leave your room...your father has you....”
The door pushed open. “Lilia.” A knight spoke. “On with it.” His voice was demanding.
Lilia but her lip. “I have to go...” She slipped from the room then.
Adelina glanced to the side table that the platter of food was on. She staggered and stepped to the balcony. That is when her eyes fell upon the crashed remains of the Odessa. Her chest felt tight as she stared to it. “Rey...” Her eyes widened. She stumbled back. “Oh god...” She gripped the wall for balance. She couldn’t remember what happened. Her last memory was speaking to Rey on the ship, just before...she couldn’t remember. What happened to her?
Adelina grit her teeth as she moved to her door. She grabbed the handle and pulled against it opening the doorway. A knight blocked her path. “Princess, the king has us on strict orders, you are not to leave your quarters.”
Adelina looked to him, her brows drawn together. “Oh?” She asked, her voice weak. “I need to see the apothecary...I’m not feeling well.” She watched him. “I...think I might....” She slumped to the floor. “I might be sick...” She took in labored breaths. She was putting on a scene for the guard. “I...don’t know what...happened...” She began to cry.
The knight knelt down next to her. “Princess...” He reached forward. “Princess Adelina.” He searched her eyes. “You’re okay, you were kidnapped...but your father saved you, he got you back.” He nodded.
Adelina looked into his eyes a moment, her own golden hues were dull and empty. “He didn’t save me.” She whispered softly. “I didn’t need saved...I’m his prisoner...”
The knight gently lifted her, “No, you’re just sick, princess. He wants you on bedrest. I’ll send for the apothecary.” He set her on her bed.
Adelina winced as he set her down. Her entire body ached. In this moment she wished that Odessa hadn’t allowed their feelings...she wished that she couldn't feel anything at all. The knight walked from the room locking her door back in place. She shuddered as she tried to sit up. Her muscles were incredibly weak. “Having trouble?” A familiar voice spoke. “It looks like to me that you need a little.....help.” A soft chuckle. Odessa.
Adelina’s eyes moved to the ghostly being as she stood over her. “Odessa...” A bit of a smile curved up her lips. “What happened?”
Odessa grinned as she reached forward and touched Adelina’s cheek. “The king stole you from me.” She chuckled then, “I think he doesn’t realize with whom he is dealing. Don’t you think?” She tilted her head slightly as she gazed into Adelina’s eyes. “Do you wish to save your captain?”
Adelina grit her teeth she could feel the power of Odessa just from her touch. “Where is Rey? What happened to her?” Tears welled in her eyes.
Odessa grinned, it was a wicked smile. “You want to save her, don’t you princess?” She waited for the beginning of a nod from Adelina. “Good, good, this might hurt.” Her eyes began to glow a bright blue. Adelina reached up and grasped onto her arm. Odessa held her hand there, gripping into Adelina’s hair to prevent her from pulling away. Her air was stolen from her lungs. Her back arched as the energy swirled into her body. “Allow your rage to fuel you, Adelina. Allow your rage to guide you.” Odessa spoke with a cackle. “That’s it.” She watched as Adelina’s hands fell from her arm, her breath’s quickened as her eyes began to swirl with fire. Odessa reached forward, holding Adelina’s head between both of her hands now. “Fight for it.” She growled out. “You want to be a part of my crew?” Odessa stared into her eyes. An electricity seemed come from her body. Adelina cried out in pain as the sparks licked at her skin. “Channel your hate Adelina!” She snarled.
The sound of wings beating against the sky could be heard from outside. Adelina struggled against Odessa, tears rolled over her cheeks. A huge roar shook tower walls as Thorondan flew forward, fire in his eyes. “This is your dragon. You command him!” Odessa shouted over the sounds. “You fight for it Adelina.” Odessa chuckled then as she surged more power into the elf. More power than she’d ever felt. It was incredibly painful and at a certain point. She stopped feeling the pain. She stopped feeling anything at all. Odessa stood and took a step back from the princess whom rose to her feet. Sparks shot from her body, licking the ground around her. Her eyes glowed a bright white as if staring into the sun. A blue glow had taken over her skin. She stumbled forward slightly, her breathing ragged. Thorondan snarled from outside, his wings still beating against the air. “Go.” Odessa ordered a chuckle coming from her lips.
Adelina turned then as the door pushed open. The knight from before stood with wide eyes. The princess turned her eyes to him, her expression was void of all emotion as she stepped forward. She walked up to him and lifted a hand to his throat. She gripped down tightly. Jolts of power rushed through his body as it began to convulse. Adelina held him there she slammed him against the wall. “Where is Rey? Where is the captain?” She loosened her grip, electricity stopped coursing through his body.
The knight trembled as blood dripped from his now. “The captain....” He choked out. “The captain and the crew...they are in the dungeon...” His voice was weak as he spoke.
Adelina grit her teeth she slammed him again, flames burst from her fingertips and his body turned to ashes before her, leaving behind his sword. She glanced to Odessa who grinned wildly as she watched the elf turn and run. Adelina sprinted across the room and leaped into the air from her balcony. She began to fall only to have Thorondan swoop beneath her and break her fall. Adelina rolled down his wing and landed roughly on the lower balcony of the castle as Thorondan blasted pieces of the castle with flames. Adelina stepped forward as knights rushed toward her.
“Halt!” One called.
“That’s the princess!” Another exclaimed.
Adelina walked up to the guard before her, she touched his cheek with a smile upon her lips as electricity still rolled over her skin. Her bright eyes stared into his. “It would be smart of you to step aside.” She spoke to him.
The knight took a few steps back, he drew his sword. “By order of the king, halt!” He spoke, though his voice trembled.
Adelina let out an exasperated sigh. “Fine.” She spoke plainly. She reached forward, his blade began to heat up until he dropped it to the ground. Adelina rushed forward. He hands moved swiftly. The sound of a dagger slicing into flesh filled the hall. Adelina’s face was inches from the man as she stared into his eyes a smile on her lips. “I gave you the option.” She spoke as she twisted his own dagger within his chest. She ripped it out and she slipped it into her empty holster on her thigh. She then reached down and grasped the sword. “Where did my father put my weapons?” She questioned as she stood back up. “Where is the crew of the Odessa?”
A few of the guards took steps back, terrified. The princess.....she’d never acted like this...they’d never seen her even kill a fly. Not Adelina. One of the knights stepped forward. “Adelina.” His eyes searched hers. “William...”
Adelina’s eyes stopped glowing at the mentioning of Prince Ranier’s name. She took in a shaken breath as she stared to him. “Will?” She asked her voice softened. The electricity faded from her hands and arms.
The knight stepped forward. “He’s dead Adelina, your father....he killed him...he killed him because he thought he kidnapped you...”
“Peter...” Adelina’s heart within her chest surged. “The war is my father’s own fault?!” She snapped as she stepped forward the light in her eyes returning with a vengeance. “He caused this?” She snarled just inches from him.
“Yes...princess.” Peter gave a nod. Suddenly the walls around them collapsed inward. The roar of flames as they licked through the room engulfed the knights that stood with Adelina. Her eyes turned as a barrier surrounded her and Peter. She looked to Thorondan as he took in a breath to attack another part of the castle. The rage within the dragon. That was rage from years of being trapped by her father.
Adelina gave him a short nod as her eyes turned to Peter. “Get my weapons.” She snapped at him. “This ends now. The king. He has lied to everyone. From the moment he became the king this entire kingdom has been a lie!” Her voice was full of hatred. “Everything is a lie....” She whimpered out. She walked forward then, pushing passed Peter. “Bring me my blade. I will get my captain and the crew.” She walked forward down the hallway then her eyes still burning with rage. She couldn't be stopped. It was an incredible display of power. Odessa appeared in the hall, a wicked grin on her lips. She’d fueld this bout of rage. It was something that when Adelina came out of it...she would regret...it was much like the rage that she forced the crew into. She took advantage of Adelina’s fear and she pushed her own power into the poor girl forcing her to fight.

Rey let out a deep cough - a splatter of blood spewed forward and sprayed across the face of the King. He brought the back of his hand up to his face and brushed off the smeared blood, his brows were pulled together and he finally released an angry sigh. “I would say that i am angry, i am not. You have returned my daughter to me in the exact form I dreamed her to be...” he circled around Rey as she was strapped to the upright table. He gripped a sharp prodder from a table of tools and then came back forward. “You are Captain of Odessa....” he grinned. “Cannot die.... But I can sure make you wish you wanted to... So, tell me. You went to the cove - where is it?” He lunged forward and stabbed Rey directly in the gut.
His wrist twisted and the unforgiving crunching sound filled the musky air, a splash of blood came pooling down her leg in a hurry. Rey cried out and then grit her teeth. “You will have to try harder than that” she spat blood at him once more. Her entire body lifted from the table slightly as the King pulled the bar out. He threw it down in a rage and then he grasped two large pliers and made his way over once more.
Just as he moved to clasp them to her skin - there was a huge rumble. Knights came clattering down the hallway shouting for the King. “Dragon!!!!” They screamed “My King!!!! ” They swung the door open. The King looked to Rey and then grit his teeth. Swiftly he reached over and pulled a machete from the table. With amazing force - he swung the sword. It cut like butter. A thud hit the ground, and then rolled to a stop. Rey’s head lay upright, eyes opened and staring to the ceiling. Her body remained strapped to the table, sliced clean at the neck.
The King stepped over her head and then stopped as he exited the room. His eyes stared to Adelina - his hands reached forward and he slowly backed up. “Adelina, dear, remain.... calm. It’s just your magic....taking you hold” he then shoved a knight forward and bust into a sprint down the hallway. He turned the corner and raced into the dark halls of the dungeon, which had a tunnel outward to the mines.
***
Dark clouds covered the sky, thick and swirling. It caused the waters to churn, just outside the port. Seagulls and birds flew away swiftly, people of the port rushed inside and barred their doors. Screaming - shouting.. The winds were terrifying, and brutal.
Deep under the waters rose a collection of bubbles. Glowing blue eyes opened - looking up to the surface of the sea, though it seemed unreachable. Two clawing hands slowly moved forward, grasping at the water - pulling the body up. As the body moved it began to form. Once just a pile of flesh began to curve into a form, a woman. With red hair and pale soft skin. As she swam upward - a huge collection of eyes opened. All glowing just like her.
She kept swimming, and the bodies formed below her. Until there was a mass of 30 odd bodies reaching for the surface. The woman peaked the surface - a gasp of a breath. Then suddenly she was lifted high - an entire ship forming below her feet. The men were sprawled across the deck, and as the ship bounced to the surface - they slowly stood. Rey glanced down and placed a hand on her chest - she could feel the tender scar tissue. A pink raised line etched across her neck, a scar.
From her ship a giant horn blew, shaking the earth. Odessa. Reborn once again.

Adelina rushed forward down the spiraling stairs of the castle. Her chest heaved as her footsteps echoed over the cold stone. She shoved a knight to the side harshly as she ran down the stairs causing him to topple down the stairs behind her, she could hear the sickening crunch of his bones as they broke against the force. Adelina came to a skidding halt as she came to the dungeon. Her eyes fell upon her father as he stepped from one of the torture chambers. Blood splattered across his skin and clothing. “Father...” She breathed as he told her to remain calm. She couldn’t remain calm...
A knight was shoved into her then knocking her back into the wall. Adelina’s eyes flooded with the flames of Thorondan as she pulled the dagger and thrust it in-between the folds of his armor. She twisted the blade and ripped it out before she shoved him to the side. Adelina rushed into the room that her father had come from. A whimper escaped her lips as her eyes fell upon the decapitated body of Rey. A cry came from her, deep within her chest as she fell to her knees before the decapitated head. “No...” She breathed as pain struck her body.
“Princess...” A voice came from behind her, it was Peter. “Princess...I...” He stared to the torture scene before him, the king had been brutal. He’d never seen such brutality before. He held her weapons in his hands.
Adelina stood, her body shaking. She reached forward and grasped her dagger and her sword. Without a word she took off down the hallway after her father. She raced through the halls, shoving knights form her path as her eyes glowed with the rage of fire. She slipped through the stone halls as her heels clicked against the stone. The sound of Thorondan’s wings beating outside seemed to echo off of the walls within the hallway. She came to the end of a hall where her father stood outside on a balcony. Dead end. Adelina grit her teeth as she stopped just five feet from him, her eyes fueled with rage. “You killed William.....you....you murdered Rey....” Tears rolled down her cheeks like hot steams of lava.
“Adelina...” The king held his hands up toward her, his eyes fearful. “Dear, you’re just....you’re just having a hard time coping with the magic...it’s the magic....those pirates kidnapped you, and William admired to your capture before we found out that the pirates had taken you....please....Addie...” He tilted his head slightly as he looked to her.
Adelina’s chest rose and fell quickly. “You deserve no mercy, father.” She spoke as she pulled her dagger. In an instant she rushed forward, the blade was glowing brightly with the color of embers as she slammed it into his abdomen and twisted it as she retracted it back. Fire began to swirl around them, surrounding them in a wall of flames. Her father fell to his knees as he gripped the injury. “You deserve nothing more than what you gave to them.” She spat as she sheathed her dagger and pulled her sword. Adelina stepped forward, fire spread from her foot strikes, rippling across the ground away from her. She lifted her sword and in a smooth motion she brought it horizontally across, slicing through the flesh of his neck, grinding through his bones of the vertebrae. She kicked his chest then before his head could topple off. His body fell back, blood spewed from the wound. Thorondan roared in delight as he scooped down and lifted the king’s body into his mouth, his sharp teeth crunched on the king as he tossed his head back to swallow.
Adelina let out a cry as the flames whipped around her in an uncontrollable fashion. She whimpered as the flames began to lick at her flesh. She could feel the searing of the heat. She fell to her knees as a wave of immense power rushed from her body. The wave was filled with the heat of the fires that had surrounded her. It rushed across the city and thrust against the side of the Odessa, pushing the ship slightly from the shear power. Adelina lay on the balcony, her body still as the night. Thorondan landed carefully and scooped her up, his teeth gripped onto the back of her shirt. He lifted into the air and flew over the city. Many of the citizens stared up to the creature. Huge holes were knocked into the castle walls by his flames. He stooped down as he came to the sea and he gracefully set Adelina’s charred body down upon the deck. Thorondan let out a whine as he looked back to the city, after a moment he burst into ashes and disappeared.
Adelina’s shirt was seared into her flesh in spots. Her hair burned from her head. Her breaths were shallow and uneven as she lay on the deck. Though after a few moments her eyes began to flutter open. She was not met with anything but horrible agonizing pain. Adelina let out a cry that echoed over the expanse of the ships deck. She couldn’t move, her body too damaged in that moment. Though...she would heal...she was of the Odessa’s crew...

Rey’s eyes turned to the sky as a great beast came flying downward. He easily dumped a limp body onto the deck of her ship and disappeared. Rey rushed from the wheel, pushing past her men as she ate to the tattered body of Adelina. She knelt down and placed a hand upon her shoulder and rolled her slowly, hues looking over the charred flakey skin, the blood and cuts amongst her skin. She knew very well that Adelina would pull through, but she was some how struck at seeing her in such a state.
“The King is Dead” A voice spoke. The Kings captain stood on the deck, eyes staring down to Adelina. There was a distant color behind his image, a red color stretching to the sky as the enire city had caught flame. “And it is you fault,, you thieves. You took her and turned her into...this... a demon, and she destroyed a place she once called her home !” He shouted and shook his head. “The Nation of Kings will want her head on a pike...” he spoke and then tried away.
It was true, the entire city and castle was aflame. By the time dusk would come it would all be ashes and Adelina would go down in history as being the leveler of Kingdoms, a murderer, a traitor, and many other things. Most of the city’s inhabiitants escaped, but many died... Rey knew when Adelina rose that this burden would crush her. Rey sighed deeply and slowly stood. “Get her to my room, we are leaving” she turned and made her want to the wheel.
She set them on ourse, leaving the bay - the fire and terror behind. “You never retrieved it... the Vial” Odessa appeared and grinned then.
“We will find another way...” Rey stared to her for a long moment and then turned her head.
“Surely... but the Kings reign is no over, oh no...” she laughed. “His spirit, I can feel it, he has not left, no. He has bigger plans, I can tell. Besides a very important soul rests in the vial, one that can tell Adelina the truth she seeks” the Odessa disappeared.
Rey grit her teeth, a trick surely, Odessa was clever and manipulative. She left the wheel, leaving it to Gerald to navigate. She made her way t her chambers where she found herself sitting at the edge of the bed, eyes staring to Adelina. Adelina slowly healed... He skin repairing and hair growing... Rey moved then and stripped Adelina Down. She slowly took a wet wash cloth over Adelina’s body, washing the soot and grime away. ..

Silence. Silence was all that followed the explosive display of Adelina’s power. The wave of fire that washed over the city. The castle nearly in ruins from Thorondan. The king is dead She wished she couldn’t hear that. She was awake. Yet, her eyes remained closed. Her body in a comatose state from the injuries. But, Rey was right, she would recover. She would recover more broken than she’d ever been. Silence again. She could feel the plush bed beneath her. Adelina’s body was limp as can be as her body mended. Her mind became fuzzy as she tried to focus, as she tried to open her eyes. Was this all a dream?
Adelina gasped as she sat up. Her eyes gazed around a familiar room. The library of the castle. She took in quick breaths. “Was....it all a dream?” She questioned, her eyes welling with tears as she looked down to the book that lay open before her. The book was open to an image of the Odessa, she had been reading the chronicles of the ghost ship. She shuddered slightly as she flipped the book closed.
“Hardly a dream.” The king’s voice spoke. His hands clasped over her shoulders from behind. “You only wish it was a dream, dear daughter.” He chuckled then. “But this, what you’ve done for me. This is a dream come true.” He spun her within the chair roughly his eyes gazing into hers as he held her shoulders still. Blood leaked from a line across the king’s neck, though it was slowly mending before her eyes. “You’ve released me into a world that I could never dream of living.” He grinned, a wicked smile upon his lips. “You are more powerful than I could have ever dreamed possible, dear.”
“Leave her alone!” A woman’s voice cracked like thunder in the room.
“Don’t even think about it.” The king snarled as he turned. His hands wrapped around the throat of a woman with long slender pointed ears. She gasped as he slammed her harshly against the bookcase. Several books fell as he held her there.
“Father!” Adelina rushed forward, she reached out and flames whipped from her hand. She punched into his shoulder and knocked him away from the woman. Fire swirled around her as she looked forward.
“My sweet girl.” The woman spoke. She stepped forward, her hand like ice against Adelina’s cheeks as she cupped her cheeks between her hands and kissed her forehead. “There you are.” She breathed as she pulled her into an embrace. “I’m so sorry.” She spoke, her voice nearly breaking. “I’m so sorry Adelina.”
Suddenly the king lifted glass, the vile. The one they had set to the castle to steal. “Want me to end her, Adelina?” The king questioned. He held the glass with an evil glint in his eyes. “Liliana, come. You are not to touch her.” He spoke.
The woman’s arms slipped from around Adelina and she stepped to her father’s side. She had markings on her face much like Adelina. Her eyes were the same beautiful ocean blue shade. “Mother?” Adelina questioned, her breaths shuddered.
The king cackled as he stared to the princess. “Oh dear daughter, this is a family reunion.” He shook the vial. The woman, her mother, Liliana. Her skin lit up from beneath, cracking and parting until she burst into ashes. “She’s mine.” He growled as he stepped forward, a smirk upon his lips. “She’s mine and I will destroy everything. I will rule over everything, once I have you.” He snickered then as his eyes looked over her. The king gripped onto her tunic and pulled her close. “I trapped your mother’s soul, just as I will trap yours.” He grinned. “Now that I am free from my mortal body, I can do just that.” He snickered. “You’re off to a good start, destroying the city and the castle. So many lives. So many innocents.” He licked his lips. “I’m proud of you, Adelina, you’re exactly what I wished you to be.” He chuckled then.
Shadows began to envelope Adelina. She choked as she fought to pull away from him. “No.” She breathed. “No!” The darkness clutched onto her like a serpent, tightening around her body until she could no longer move. She cried out as her vision began to fade.
“No!!” Adelina shot up in the bed. She’d been unconscious for three days. She gasped for air. “No....no...no...” Tears welled in her eyes. It was real. All of it. She looked around Rey’s cabin. “No...” She whimpered her voice broken and small. She’d destroyed her home. Her people. She’d killed so many people. “No...I....can’t...” She breathed as her body trembled. “I can’t...”

Rey looked over Adelina as she lay in the bed - she watched as the charred bits of skin slowly shifted to a bright pink color, and then to a more natural color. It happened slowly, but within a matter of minutes she appeared to be completely fine. Her hair had regrown, back to its exactly same cut and length. When their souls are bound to Odessa - it is much like a picture of time, a captured moment, and that body is yours eternally so. Rey slowly stood and sighed softly, meanwhile Hutch stood in the doorway, his hands fidgeting. "Is she..okay?" he questioned.
"She... will be fine. You know as well as anyone else we cannot die, but..." she shook her head "This sudden release of such power has left her out of control, which resulted in the last thing she likely ever wanted to do. She... is not a murderer, and she also doesn't level entire cities. Yet, she did. And that will haunt her for eternity..." she turned her gaze from Adelina to Hutch. "We all have something, it is our burden. Power - its a real tricky thing" she spoke and then went to walk out of the room. She stopped though, shoulder to shoulder with Hutch. She lowered her head and then sucked in a breath. "Stock this room with wine, the like, and watch over her... When she wakes, well..." she then walked out of the room.
Her steps lead her to the deck and she looked out to her men. The ship was already out to sea, the sails were taught. Rey made her way up to the wheel where Gerald stood. Gerald turned his gaze to her and then sighed softly. "This is why I don't take on new recruits" she spoke and then shook her head. "In the end, this was my fault, and now she will be destroyed. All for what" she shook her head. "I am...so tired..." she looked to Gerald with soft hues.
Gerald reached forward and tucked a piece of hair behind her ear and then smiled weakly. "I know, baby girl, I know" he whispered. "But you... you never give up. Hm? You don't give up on what is right..." he placed a hand on her back and rubbed slowly. "You're stubborn in that way, a true sea-woman" he chuckled and titled his head. "Think of everyone you've saved here, hm? You offered us all a second chance. It isn't easy, no, but... all of us.. me" he looked to her and tilted his head. "You searched me out, you did everything you could possibly do to find me..." he looked back out to the sea. "And I love every day that I get to wake and watch you, because for so much of my life - I wasn't there...and you, despite it all, found me." his hand fell from her back and he sighed softly. "That girl down there has not lived a life at all, and... turns out she is a very special one. No doubt that the King knew, and had plans for her, you saved her from a life of torture, one that you know I know so well" he reached up and touched his cropped ears. "She will heal" he spoke and then stepped away. "We all do" he then made his way down the stairs, giving Rey her space.
Rey found herself only in 2 places. Either at the wheel, or down in her room - looking at Adelina. It was a swollen gaze, a kind of gaze of regret. The entire while Hutch sat there, a wet rag in hand - dabbing at her forehead. "She's been dreaming..." Hutch whispered. He took in a deep breath and then dribbled a bit of water into Adelina's mouth with a small tea pot. Rey lowered her head and then stepped out of the room.
Her fingers clasped over the wheel as she stared out. It was dusk, there was a cool breeze on the waters, a storm was not far off - she could tell. The way the wind was unpredictable, the waves were choppy, there was not a fish under the boat. She sucked in a breath and slowly let it go. Just as she did - Rob came dashing up to her. "She is awake" he spoke and then looked to Gerald - who walked over and placed a hand on the wheel.
Rey did want to move at first... until Gerald cleared his throat. "Go" he commanded.
Rey followed Rob down the steps and made her way to the door, she stood infront of it for a long time, and then she opened it. Hutch looked up to Rey and then snaked out of the room swiftly. Rey made her way to the edge of the bed, Adelina was sitting upright - mumbling over and over. Rey watched her for a long moment. "You can't?" she questioned softly. She bit her lip slightly and sat down, her fingers grasping onto the sheets.
"My Father.. he is like you, an Elf" she looked to her for a moment. "He... was stolen right from our home, we lived in this.. little farming and trade town off the coast of Yandril. They stole him when I was real young... Drained him of his magic, his blood, made him a slave. This was... nearly 300 years ago, back when the Elven War was ending. I left home at 14, and searched for 6 years. I came across this..." she sucked in a breath. "This ship, and her Captain - Layne, she took me aboard and helped me track down my father. It took us almost an entire year, and when we finally did.." she tilted her head. "The Ruins of Avarde, do you know of them?" she smirked. "The once beautiful industrial city, the Capital of Axane... Leveled completely by the worlds greatest storm... Tornado's, floods, winds... One solid hour of this storm shredded everything, and killed everyone..." she let out of a soft breath. "That city, their people, that Kingdom - was going to end the Mage-wars, what I didn't know is that they had actually rescued my father. I found him in a cell like room, beaten and battered, on the brink of death... Avarde was going to bring Peace, they were going to lead the world...in the right direction" she took in a breath and let it go slowly.
"My emotions got to the best of me, I... I killed everyone, I am the reason why Elves are practically extinct. They had rescued over one thousand Elves and Mages, and I killed all of them." she stood then and looked to her and let out a slow breath. "When I returned... I was in so much pain. Layne.... gave me a second chance, so I could redeem myself, in some way." she shook her head. "Now every night I sleep - I relive it over and over." she shook her head. "It's not easy. I wish... there was something I could do to help, or even I wish I could fix it." she lifted a bottle of wine and pulled out her knife. She stabbed into it and popped the cork out. She took a long swig and then sat back on the bed roughly. She looked to Adelina and offered the bottle. "Don't think about it, don't think about what you need to do, or whatever. Just.... drink this" she spoke and took another swig of it.
