Adelaide drew in a breath, just about as much information as she would get from her grandfather. Everyone hid things from her. She could always tell that she wasn’t getting the full truth. “No one trusts him fully, that is why he is the leader of the Coven.” She let out a small laugh. “I don’t even trust my own grandfather fully. That should tell you quite a lot.” She sat up and looked to him curiously. She moved to stand and walked to his side again, she brushed a bit of hair from his face and tucked his hair behind his ear. “So long as you’re here, I feel safe.” She leaned forward and kissed him then, it was quick, but sweet.
She stood and gave him a smile then. “So are we locked down?” She questioned. “I think you and I both need a good laugh.” She smiled and winked to him as she walked over to her dresser. “Or something of that sort.” She then grinned. “Live music is certainly a great deal of fun.” She noted. Adelaide paused as she looked into her wardrobe. She felt a strange feeling wash over her body then. “What...day is it?” She asked, her voice trailed slightly and she straightened her body. Her fingertips curled around the handle of her dresser as she clenched her jaw, which popped. She could feel something change in her body. “Henry...” She took in a slightly faster breath. She stepped to his side, her eyes glanced outside as another pop came from her body, though this time the pop came from her ribs. She groaned and let out a breath. “The...moon...” She breathed as she gripped the arm of the chair, her nails had become claw like. “God….damn….warlock...” She gasped as she nearly fell. Pain rushed through her body as she felt her teeth change within her mouth. Her bones began crackling. “Henry...m-make it stop.” She choked out as she fell to a knee next to him. Tears welled in her eyes as her form began to change, one bone at a time. Her jaw lengthened as she let out a cry, her back arched as she held onto the side of the chair.
No one came crashing into the room thankfully as Adelaide let out soft whimpers. It took several minutes for her body to complete the change. Though when all was said and done she lay before him as a beautiful golden wolf. She didn’t look like the mangy black furred lycans that roamed the streets at night. She looked much like the wolves of the pack that they had attacked on their hunt. Adelaide took in quick breaths as she let out a cry, she stood before him with sad golden eyes. The full moon would be her bane. She would not be forced to change into this form, with the exception of the full moon. Unless she had total control over her form which as a hybrid was almost doubtful...

"No, we're not on lockdown." He told and leaned back against the chair until he heard her struggling. He got up from his seat and quickly made his way towards her as her body contorted and changed. He didn't know how to help, what to do, and was simply left to watch in horror as her slender human figure twisted into that of a golden dog. "Adelaide.." he breathed with a bit of panic in his voice as he knelt down to get eye level with her. The lycan blood had managed to take root to this degree? This was beyond a hybrid in Henry's mind. It was more of a conversion.
"That warlock has gone too far." He stated. "I should drag him back here and tell him to fix this. Gargoyle or not he's got to answer for this." Henry stated and clinched his jaw. Though the probability of him simply being killed was far greater than him being successful in subduing William and forcing him to do another risky treatment on Adelaide to reverse the process. "He reached out to touch Adelaide, on her shoulder, and simply let his hand rest there for a moment. "We need to get you out of here, until we know what we're gonna do..."
Just then Fran entered the room and as she looked up to see Henry kneeling before a wolf she gasped. Henry was quick though and managed to move fast enough to catch Fran, closed the door, and cover her mouth so she did not scream. "Relax, alright? If anyone else had walked through that door this would be a bit of a mess but I'll explain to you." He glanced back towards Adelaide. "I've got to get her out of here unnoticed. Understand? That twisted son of a bitch did something to her and we have to figure out how to reverse it." He explained. "Adelaide cannot be seen like this."

Adelaide whined as she looked up to him, her eyes wide with panic. She stared to him, pure panic in her eyes. When he mentioned the warlock a low growl came over her lips as she snarled and revealed her rather sharp fangs. When he reached out she calmed and relaxed as he touched her fur. She whimpered softly and turned her head to rest upon his forearm.
“That….th….th...” Fran stammered. “Sh….she’s a...” Her eyes were wide. “What the hell happened to her? Nicholas had her turned into a Lycan?” She snapped, she wouldn’t take her eyes off of Adelaide. “She’s...she’s a wolf...”
Adelaide whined as she sat where she was, her ears perked in their direction. She lowered her head as she listened to Fran panic. This was exactly what she was afraid of. The panic that a pure blood had been ruined by the warlock’s experiments.
“She….she looks like the pure Lycans.” Fran spoke after a few moments. “The old Roux-ga-roux...its in the legends. Humans wrote the stories...I...I’ve never seen it...but...” She took in a quick breath. “What are you going to do with her? What if she can’t change back?!” Fran was clearly panicked.
Adelaide growled slightly as she put her ears back. She stepped up to Henry and grasped onto his jacket sleeve with her teeth before she pulled him toward the door to the room.
Fran took in a quick breath. “Alright….I’ll make sure Vincent doesn’t find out...just….fix this.” She looked to Henry with worried eyes before she slipped from the room.
Adelaide pulled Henry into the hallway and tugged him through the mansion and out into the gardens behind the estate. She than glanced to him before her eyes caught the moon. Her golden hues gazed to it a long moment before she howled. Other howls sounded throughout the city and in the next moment Adelaide took off at a full sprint. She was quick as she leaped through the city. Humans jumped to the side as the wolf lunged through the streets. She pushed through the streets as she ran and across the city until she reached the edge of town. Adelaide continued to run, she was nearing the mansion that Henry hid out in. Though, at the speed she was traveling it didn’t look like that was where she was going.

"Alright, alright." Henry kept trying to get her to let go of his sleeve as she pulled him out of the mansion but she seemed insistent that she continue to do so until they were outside. "Adelaide.." he stated as he looked up to the moon hovering in the sky. When she howled Henry actually jumped from the sound, but recovered almost immediately as she took off at a full sprint.
"God damnit!" He cursed as he chased after her. He moved quick but going through the city unseen was a bit of a pain. He had to avoid it where as she seemed to not care that she was scaring and moving past dozens of humans. "Adelaide stop!" He called to her when they reached the edge of town, but she kept running.
Now that they were away from the buildings and out on more open ground he was able to tap into his speed a bit more. Not to mention he was still rather fueled from drinking Vincent's blood and so he kept up with Adelaide even if he couldn't catch her. "Where are you going?!" He yelled after her. "Adelaide!" He was starting to panic now as he would reach for her every once in a while to try and stop her.

Adelaide seemed hellbent on whatever she was chasing after. She led Henry into the forest and she dashed along through the trees, she easily leaped over boulders and other such obstacles. His calls to her seemed to fall upon deaf ears. It wasn’t until she leaped into the air and pounced upon an elk that things might have made sense. The blood thirst. She snarled as she bit into and ripped the throat from the creature. Blood splattered across the ground and over her fur. She let out a triumphant howl to claim her victory. Other howls followed suite.
There were other wolves that approached. One transformed into a woman with silver eyes. “Bit off too much the chew, vampire?” She spoke as she looked to Henry. She chuckled as she looked to Adelaide and tilted her head. She sniffed the air and her eyes narrowed slightly. “What sort of abomination is this?” She questioned curiously. She chuckled as Adelaide took a few steps back to the woman’s presence. “That’s it.” She grinned. “You need to control yourself child.” She spoke with a firm yet calm tone. “Running through the city like that.” She clicked her tongue. She pulled a gun from her hip and aimed it at Adelaide, her finger twitched over the trigger and the shot rang out. “There we are.” The woman grinned. Adelaide whimpered as a dart stuck into her shoulder. She staggered and fell to the ground as she took in heavy breaths. “Not to worry.” The woman looked to Henry. “I’m going to help her, she is one of my pack after all.” She sniffed the air once again. “My daughter’s blood runs in her veins. Hm…” She stepped forward toward Henry, “You….do you know where my daughter is? She’s been missing nearly a year.” The woman was unmistakably beautiful with long black locks that flowed to the middle of her back. “I’ll help you with your lycan problem.” She smirked, “Well, we prefer a different term, but...I can’t expect everyone to call us our proper name.” She looked to the other wolves that had come.
The three other wolves had transformed into humans, three men. They all stood near Adelaide. One carefully pulled the dart from her shoulder and knelt at her side. Adelaide slowly began to take back on her human form, her bones cracked and popped. “This could be a mutual agreement.” The woman spoke with a smile. “What do you say? Hm?”

Henry couldn't catch her. How far was she going to go? He could do little more than grit his teeth and follow her into the forest. It wasn't until she finally caught her apparent prey that he skid to a stop. His feet slid through the wet leaves that had fallen from above and he watched as she tore into the deer's carcass. "God damnit.." He said breathlessly as he put his hands on his knees while he tried to catch his breath. "All that for a deer?" He was only slightly aggravated as this little chase had not been necessary in his mind.
When he heard the accompanying howls and then the rustling in the forest around him he stood upright and drew one of his blades to defend both him and Adelaide. As the woman stepped into the clearing Henry hissed and moved to strike but his arm was grabbed by another wolf to stop him before she could shoot Adelaide with the dart. "What did you do?" He ripped his arm from the wolf, tearing his shirt and a bit of his flesh on its teeth. He then rushed the three that were surrounding Adelaide as she turned back to her more normal self.
They backed away immediately and he practically ripped his shirt off to cover Adelaide's naked form, even if the other lycans weren't as modest. "Why would I know where your daught.." he started to say before the woman's words actually clicked in his mind. He had been so concerned over Adelaide it was hard not to jump to the worst conclusion about their situation. He slid his arm under Adelaide and lifted her up from the ground then held her against himself in a protective manner as they stood surrounded by a pack. "Yeah, I might know where she's at." He finally admitted. "What sort of agreement did you have in mind?"

“It is just a tranquilizer, she will be fine.” The woman stepped forward, she reached forward and lightly touched Adelaide’s forehead like a mother checking for a temperature. “I didn’t think a hybrid could be made.” She raised a brow slightly. She then lifted her eyes to look to Henry, “You would be better off if you calmed down vampire boy.” She smirked, “I know your kind isn’t used to working with Lycans. But as I stated before, we are not the Lycan that you know.” She pulled a pack off of her back and tossed pieces of clothing to the three men whom pulled on the shorts and loose fitting shirts to cover their bodies.
The woman eyed Henry then. “My daughter....” She grasped the empty tranquilizer dart from one of the men. She smelled it and then let out a soft sigh, “This is her blood no doubt. It is intertwined with her blood.” She raised a brow slightly. “Our agreement is simple, I can help you with your newly acquired wild hybrid girl....if you show our pack where my daughter is....and for safety I would like you to come along to free her.” She looked down to Adelaide then a soft smile upon her lips, “She is more powerful than even I. With such a mix...” She raised a brow slightly. “She was pure before wasn’t she?” She looked to Henry curiously before she smirked.
The woman then took a few steps back, giving him enough room to breathe, “You may call me Viv, or Vivian if you would like to be formal. Doesn’t matter much to me. I am the alpha of the pack. Now...” she paused. The others stood behind Henry, he truly had no escape route. Even if he wanted to each direction a Lycan stood. “Come with us to our home. We will get some herbs to help soothe the headache that your dearest will have when she wakes.”
Vivian smirked to him then, “that’s a normal response to the first turn...if you were wondering...it isn’t in response to the tranquilizer...oh and also....beautiful first hunt for her. She took down much larger prey than I anticipated....” she grinned then as she turned and began walking. The three lycans waited for Henry to move, they kept at his sides and behind him.
They walked through the forest, deeper into the foliage. The canopy of the forest became thick and blotted out the moonlight. Soon enough though, they came to a clearing and within the clearing was a beautiful log cabin that looked to be crafted by hand. Vivian looked back to Henry a smile still upon her lips as if she was amused. The closer they came it was evident that there were more lycans within the home, on the porch and around the general vicinity. She had a small army for a pack. “Come on inside.” Vivian spoke as she led him in. “Lay her there.” She pointed to a couch that had a frame made from log as well. A fireplace crackled just feet from the couch, the stone work was gorgeous. The three men disbursed leaving the three alone. Vivian stepped into the kitchen where she stood for a moment before she opened a cabinet. She grabbed several herbs and then she stepped to a window that held fresh herbs within it. She began to boil water as she mashed up the leaves.
“So tell me....how long has she been like this? This is her first turn clearly.” Vivian spoke as she approached with a mug of tea.
As she approached Adelaide began to wake. She groaned and lifted a hand to her head. “Henry....?” She breathed.
Vivian handed the mug of tea to him and gave a nod. “You’re alright dear. Henry has some tea for you.” She have a warm smile as she sat down in a plush recliner across from them.

Henry continued to hold Adelaide, tense and silent, as Vivian spoke. He wasn't convinced they wouldn't both end up dead by the end of this interaction and so he wanted to hold his cards tightly rather than reveal his hand. Reluctantly he followed the troupe further into the forest and to a cabin. Henry was immediately aware of the other presences around them. Various members of their apparently large pack which meant he was even more outnumbered than he originally thought.
When Vivian instructed Henry to lay Adelaide upon the couch he looked over his shoulder to the three that had continued to follow them before he followed through with the suggestion. He remained directly next to Adelaide though as he turned to face the lycans within the cabin. If they made even a single wrong move then he would kill them all, or at least die trying.
Upon hearing Adelaide ask for him he hesitantly took the mug from Vivian, sniffing it slightly to determine what was in it first, before kneeling next to Adelaide and helping her sit upright. He needed her more alert and laying in a prone position was not the best given their situation. "Here, there's no poison in it." He reassured her and then turned back to eye Vivian with suspicion. "How could you possibly help her? You don't even know what she's been through to begin assessing that issue." He nearly growled at Vivian as he spoke. "Given that, what reason would I have to help you find this woman?"

A few lycans stood at the top of the balcony that overlooked the living room from the second story. Their looks were of curiosity and interest. It wasn’t normal for vampires to be welcomed into their home, or den as some might call it. Adelaide leaned into Henry as he lifted her up, her head still felt foggy. “What...happened…?” She blinked a few times, she couldn’t remember the transformation at all. Though, this was quite normal. The beast would take control, and when that happened memory seemed to not exist.
Vivian flattened her smile as Henry growled at her, she crossed her legs and drew in a breath. As if to call on a sense of meditation. She clenched her jaw slightly. “Because.” She then smirked after a long moment. “If you do not help me find my daughter, surly this young pup won’t last until the next full moon.” This wasn’t a threat. Vivian didn’t move from her seat, a few chuckles were heard from within the home to her remark. “You see. I’ve seen a hybrid before, though, it wasn’t made with a pure blooded vampire, no it was a turned human. The pour boy escaped from a warlock, though I couldn’t get any information out of him. We tried our best to help him, but he grew weak. He lasted nearly a month before his body finally gave out. His vampire DNA fought against that of the Lycan DNA and...well you know how that ends. However.” She cleared her throat slightly and glanced up to the balcony. “Oliver. Would you mind?” She called up to a handsome Lycan that stood with his elbows upon the railing.
He seemed to hesitate before he made his way down the stairs. He held the same dark hair as his mother, though it was short and he had a neatly trimmed beard upon his jaw. “Yes, mother?” He asked his eyes looked to Adelaide curiously and then to Henry.
Vivian smirked slightly, “My son, is what Adelaide is.” She spoke, her voice calm. She smirked slightly after a moment. “Though he was not made from an experiment. Unless you’d like to call it that….my late husband was a vampire...killed by a hunter unfortunately...” She sighed softly after she spoke the words. It had been a very long time since she had lost her husband. The young man that stood before Adelaide and Henry was rather old as well, even if he didn’t take on the look of an older creature. “So, I know how to help her with her changes….and...if we get my daughter back, we can supply her with vials of blood to keep her body from….” She paused a moment. “Attacking itself...so to speak.”
Adelaide sipped on her tea, she was starting to become more aware and less foggy. Her eyes stared to Oliver whom smirked slightly as he stared back.
“So, my vampire friend. It is in your best interest to help me...help you.” She then looked to Adelaide. “What’s your name dear?” She asked.
Adelaide broke her eyes away from Oliver to look to the beautiful woman. “Um...” She blinked a few times. “Adelaide...Bennett...” She spoke her last name a bit softer.
Vivian’s smile grew into another amused look. “Oh wow...” She let out a chuckle and shook her head. “Well, well...you must have been in the wrong place at the wrong time to have a warlock experiment on you dear….I’m certain that Vincent doesn’t know about this little….transgression...” She looked to Henry. “We can keep it that way if you trust me. I just want my daughter back. That’s all.”
“Your daughter?” Adelaide questioned softly as she watched the woman.
“Yes.” She stood and walked across the room then. Oliver looked to Henry a moment his eyes seemed to look him over closely before his eyes looked back to Adelaide. “Here we are.” Vivian spoke from across the room as she returned. “This is my daughter, her name is Lily.”
Adelaide reached forward and took the picture frame. Her thumb rubbed over the image. “That….” She looked to Henry, “That’s the girl...Henry...” She looked back to the woman. “I know where she is...”
Vivian grinned as if she had just won a game of chess. “Ah, I thought you might.” She looked to Henry a long moment, “So. Shall we make an agreement?” She asked. “I’ll even give Adelaide some clothing. Oliver dear.” She looked to him. “Would you?” She didn’t even finish her sentence and he was already on his way to gather clothing for Adelaide.

Henry tried to keep eyes on all that were around him, but it was hard when they were above and below. He did notice a lack of aggression however. He expected growls, teeth to be shown, and just general lycan behavior. However this pack just seemed more interested in what had been brought into their midst rather than truly concerned about it. When she summoned down one of the men from the balcony Henry's gaze shifted up to follow his motions until he got down to the ground floor. So this woman had more than one child. Figures.
What she said next perplexed Henry though. This lycan was a hybrid as well? From cross species mating at that. He had a hard time believing such a claim. Though as he drew closer the scent Oliver gave off only reaffirmed that and Henry couldn't find it in himself to refute the woman. He didn't like the way Oliver looked at Adelaide though, no matter what race he was.
"Don't.." He tried to caution Adelaide on how much she should say. If they gave up the information easily they might not have reason to keep them around, deal or no deal. He had been left out to dry too many times to accept people's promises on just their word alone. He was literally and figuratively backed into a corner though so he finally gave a small sigh. "What kind of agreement did you have in mind?" It pained him to say the words but he had to do something. Simply continuing to stand against them baring his teeth wasn't going to get him far.
As Oliver returned with close for Adelaide another member of the pack, a woman, approached with a replacement shirt for Henry. His was torn and a bit bloody after chasing Adelaide all the way to her hunt. He reluctantly accepted the offer and pulled the shirt on over his head. "Have any of your pack ever faced a gargoyle? Or been on the receiving end of a warlock's spells?" He finally asked as he slowly lowered himself down to sit on the couch, though at the edge of his seat. "Your pack is large but sometimes that cushions members from having the experience other, smaller packs sometimes face."

Vivian grinned when Henry asked for the agreement. She watched him a moment and tilted her head. “It’s simple, really.” She still relaxed in her arm chair, her leg crossed over the other. Her eyes looked to her son whom leaned against the stone of the fireplace with his hands in his pockets. His eyes looked to Adelaide still. She smirked slightly as she looked back to Henry. “I’ll teach Adelaide here...as one of my own. I’ll help her to control her beast within. There will be far less casualties...once the wolf gets a taste for blood...it wants more...” She seemed to warn him as she looked to Adelaide whom held the bundle of clothing in her hands. She bunched it up over herself as she glanced to Henry. “Go get dressed. Oliver can show you where to go, can’t you son?” She looked to him.
Oliver glanced to Vivian and nodded with a slight side smirk upon his lips. “Of course, mother. No trouble at all.” He looked to Henry a moment before he brought his eyes back to Adelaide. “Follow me.” He spoke as he walked off.
Adelaide hesitated a moment. She looked to Henry. “Go on.” Vivian spoke. “We can chat when you get back dear.” Vivian chuckled slightly. “Such a worried little pup.” She grinned before she looked back to Henry.
Adelaide bit her lip slightly. “I’ll be right back...” She spoke as she stood and held what little cloth she could around her body. She could feel the eyes upon her as she rushed to catch up with Oliver. “Wait...” She called after him as she caught up to him.
Oliver turned to her and smirked. “If you wouldn’t have hesitated I wouldn’t have to wait.” He chuckled as he led her down a flight of stairs into a beautifully finished basement. He walked down a hall and around a corner where he pushed a door open to a beautifully decorated room. “Guest room. The bathroom is through that door. Feel free to...freshen up a bit, you’ve got a little.” He reached forward but Adelaide flinched her face away from him. He chuckled and dropped his hand. “Blood...and dirt...it happens.” He winked. “I’ll be upstairs, if you need me.” He turned and walked off.
Adelaide stood for a long moment, she stared after him. He made her feel rather strange. She couldn’t place the way he looked at her. Was she his prey? Or did he simply find her attractive. It was a mixture of the two it seemed. She finally closed the door and stepped into the room. She walked into the bathroom and climbed into the shower to wash away the dirt and grime that she’d gained from the hunt.
**
Vivian smiled to Henry, “Don’t worry, my son is a fine gentlemen. You’ll learn that Roux-ga-Roux are nothing like that of the simpleton Lycans that you’ve dealt with.” She tilted her head slightly, “All you have to do is lead me to the warlock. My pack has fought many battles over the years. I’m older than you could imagine young man.” She grinned, “But I still look young hm?” She chuckled lightly. Her eyes tracked to the stairs where Oliver emerged from. “Oliver.” She spoke as he came over and leaned against the stone once again. “My son here fought a gargoyle when he was younger. It’s been awhile since the pack has had such a run in...however...shall we make a plan, Henry?” She asked as she watched him closely.

Henry reflexively reached to place a hand on Adelaide's leg as Vivian offered to allow her to leave his side to get dressed. Yes he wanted her covered but he also didn't want her out of his sight much less out of his reach. "You'll have to excuse me for not exactly trusting your word on that." He replied to Vivian when she spoke of Oliver's manners. It wasn't until Oliver returned that he felt marginally better about Adelaide being away from him. "Roux-ga-roux, I've heard that name before." He commented but she was right in stating that he had no prior dealings with them. From his understanding though they were just as vicious and dangerous as any other lycan group.
"How do you plan on keeping Adelaide here to teach her about this.. condition, while also keeping Lord Bennett oblivious. He's not a stupid man and he'll catch on to his granddaughter's repeated disappearances sooner or later." Henry was between a rock and a hard place. Get possibly killed by dogs or most likely killed by Vincent if he found out. His future was looking pretty grim actually.
The female, who had brought Henry the shirt, was sitting directly across from Henry leaning against the back of a chair as the two conversed. "Vivian.." She piped up. "should I bring out some refreshments? Our guests look tense."

“Yes most have heard of us.” Vivian spoke with a smirk. “Though, most only hear of us in books. They believe us to be extinct. Even some lycans believe us to be extinct.” She tilted her head slightly. “I like it that way. I don’t like the drama that those mangy mutts bring around.” She frowned slightly, it was the first face that wasn’t of amusement that she’d made. She then tilted her head slightly when he began asking questions. A smirk slowly curved up her lips once again. The silence settled around the room as she watched how uncomfortable the vampire appeared. That was when the female spoke up. “Hmm, why that’s a lovely idea. Make it a double would you? He seems rather uptight.” She chuckled as she uncrossed her legs to cross them the opposite direction.
“Why not convince Lord Bennett that she should stay at your home with you? Wouldn’t that be easy? He seems to have trusted you with her enough that you were alone with her when she changed. Perhaps tell her it’ll be safer. Or maybe she can tell him that is what she wants. Privacy. It is a lovely thing. Isn’t it?” She chuckled lightly. “Just bring her here instead, for a few hours. I don’t want to overwhelm her and...if our lesson hangs over...she can survive the sun. Fun fact.” She shifted and leaned forward then as she uncrossed her legs. “We could put you in the basement so you don’t sizzle up like a piece of bacon.” She licked her lips slightly. “Don’t worry Henry. We can plan this out rather well.” She smirked once again. “Make me a drink as well, would you?” She called into the kitchen.

The woman had nodded when Vivian agreed and gotten up from her seat to fetch the mentioned drink. Henry hardly paid her any mind though and simply focused on Vivian for the time being. It was an idea but not one he was sure Vincent would agree to. Perhaps if Adelaide asked him he would but it was doubtful Henry would be able to have that much pull with the elder vampire.
When she mentioned Adelaide being able to stand the sun now he seemed surprised, if only for a moment, as it wasn't something he had considered. Likely she had never seen the sun before and it would be a whole new experience for her. One he missed himself actually. Then he couldn't help but frown as Vivian mentioned simply tucking him away in the basement during the day. Once again he hated that he had been turned. Now, more than ever. "You're asking for a whole lot of trust.. from both of us." He replied.
When the drinks finally arrived Vivian was served first and then Henry. Crystal glasses with what smelled like whiskey and a hint of something else, maybe a bit fruity, on the end. "It's good. I know you'll like it." The woman told him with a smile before moving to reclaim her seat.

Vivian watched him as the gears seemed to turn within his head. “I’ve been around long enough, Henry.” She spoke as she watched him. “I know when I can trust someone. Besides, I’m doing you and equal favor, all I’m asking you for is information so that I can get Lily back.” She watched him carefully. “She went to the city and never came back...we found her blood, but we couldn’t trace it. Damn warlock. They hide in their magic.” She scoffed. “Though I do bet he sent the damn gargoyle after her...that would make sense why we found no tracks. There was no fight.” She took her drink as the woman took it from her. “Thank you dear.” She spoke as she lifted it to her lips.
She let out a sigh and watched Henry a long moment. “If you do not wish to trust me in helping Adelaide keep her secret. Then fine. Go. But I can assure you that Adelaide will want the help. This is much more difficult to control than that of the vampiric blood lust. I can promise you that. That is what makes our species so dangerous. It’s the uncontrolled ones. The feral violent ones. That is what she will become. If she doesn’t get it under control.” Vivian tilted her head slightly then. “So loosen up.” She took another long drink of her alcohol. “Perfect mixture dear.” She complimented. “Well...don’t you look lovely.” Her eyes tracked across the room as Adelaide came up from the basement.
Adelaide walked across the floor, she wore pajama bottoms and a tank top that accented her figure. She looked to Oliver whom had a smile upon his lips as his eyes tracked her. Once again she felt like his prey. She took in a breath and sat down next to Henry. Her eyes looked to him a moment as she placed her hand on his leg. She sat close to him, almost as if she was making a statement. “So...what’s the decision?” She asked after a long moment of silence. “What are we making an agreement on?”
Vivian smirked before she finished her drink. “Why don’t you ask him hun?” She spoke as she looked to the bottom of her glass. “Henry has to make a decision. How do you get him to loosen up?” She chuckled then. “He’s so tightlipped.” She grinned then as she poked fun of him. It was clear that she didn’t have a fear in this world. She was untouchable. She’d been around so long that she’d grown stronger and she’d learned the tricks of those upon this planet. It made her nearly unstoppable in battle. Though this also made her cocky.
“Would you like another drink mother?” Oliver asked. “I’ll make you one too, Adelaide.” He grazed her shoulder with his fingertips as he walked passed her toward the kitchen.
Adelaide gripped onto Henry’s knee, though her eyes did follow the man. She shook her head before she looked back to Vivian. “Why am I not the one that gets a say?” She growled with her brows pulled together.
“Easy there.” Vivian warned. “You are….” She held her fingers up as if she were pinching a small item. “This close to losing control again.”
Adelaide sucked in a breath, she could feel it within her body. The rise of adrenaline, her breathing had quickened. “Henry?” She asked as she looked to him nervously. Vivian’s eyes made her want to do as Vivian asked. It was a strange feeling, almost the same feeling that Oliver gave her. She couldn’t place it with anything else.
