It had been six years since hell broke loose. No one knew where it came from. At first it was the source of jokes and memes, but before the world could tell it was even a huge issue - it exploded like a tornado from the sky. Over night - entire cities became corrupted, tainted, by the flesh eating biters. Movies, books, everything in between for told this. Entire tv series and dramas used this as fuel to their endless gold. Zombies. It was finally here. There was speculation that perhaps some sect of the world knew of its true existence, and this stories were just the truth fighting to be told. Instead the world found it fun, comical, and entertainment. Though now with it truly here - only a small percent of humans remain. The ones who had capability to actually fight, and not cower in their boots. Truth is - killing a zombie is easy. Just one zombie, maybe two at the worst. Killing hordes of them? This was a different story. Though, the books and movies got it pretty right. Almost like they knew... how these zombies act, how they group. How some move slowly, others move a little faster. How the only way to truly get eaten is to move slow enough or get trapped. What's the trick? Know your surroundings. Going some where new is a terrible idea. The last thing you want to do is get stuck in a building with them, with no escape. Zombies are dumb, they don't understand what a flank is. Or what a trap is. They just know - ooh brains, let's eat that. Shit, if you're real smart - you'll leave the dead idiots as bait for these fools, and gun the zombies down when they crowd. They're like sharks in the water. They smell that droplet of blood from miles away and come trekking. Over exaggeration but, its pretty much true. Dealing with zombies is like dealing with a hundred toddlers who don't know just how to walk yet, but really want that cookie in your hand. Watching them tumble over their own feet, but god damn if you're retarded - their little teeth will sink into you, and it's good night. Except. What the Movies and video games didn't get - is this virus doesn't infect everyone. There are people who are immune to it. Another conspiracy. There's plenty of thoughts around it, but no matter how or why - it's true. A small percent of people are immune - though the immunity is not a cure for everyone. It's just a prolonged defeat. People found this out, sourced out these humans - and the reconstructed government manipulates these people into blood-servitude. A nifty little drug called Enspiratolizatol, or as we common people call it - Zcoin, was invented. A fun little pill that will prolong your zombie transition - if you got bit. Usually one pill will get you 1 more week. And now it is the capitol of our existence, money and gold is no longer, it's all about that Zcoin. One drop of blood from an immune person can produce 20 pills, so it's not a terrible outcome, but it still makes it very valuable, especially for the people who need it. After the breakdown of cities - crumbling to the zombies, people grouped up and made outposts. And then they took their cities back, or what they could of it. Walling off sections, forming some kind of organization. Back to how America first began, small city states - with their own government and damn near factions. You get a home. You get a job assigned to you. You get your food ration, your Zcoin ration. You trade if you're not bitten, you hope to god you never get bitten, you bust your ass - for this government. It's not a bad system, I guess. If you have no physical capability to protect yourself, it works out great... but if you're like me, and you actually have skills - you come out on top, sorta. "Hey - stop staring at me like that. You're distracting me" A woman spoke - as she sat before a laptop. Before her was a word document - she was writing out all her thoughts, though they were strung along and practically lost. There was a grunt and then a huff - coming from a large black and white wolf. He placed his head ontop of his front paws and looked up to her with his crystal blue eyes. "Well if you could talk, that would be glorious. I wouldn't have to do this crap" She spoke and then closed the laptop. "Come on, let's take a look" she waved him over. The wolf stood and stretched, his hind pushing into the air as he did so - a loud yawn coming from his gaping mouth. The woman stepped through a clean and tidy living room - a beautiful rug on the wooden floor, a couch and lazyboy. Her place was clean and lovely, nothing like what one would think of an apocalypse. She stepped outside and glanced up to the blue sky - puffy white clouds drift in the distance. Surrounding her home was a tall metal fence - which climbing up the metal bars was a thick wall of vines. It nearly concealed her entire home - in the dense forest that surrounded her. She stepped down from the first few steps - her lawn was tidy, well kept. Though as she stepped toward the covered gate - she opened it easily and stepped outward. The small home was surrounded by thick unkept forest. It had heavy brush, and a simple trail that led outward. It was a natural defense against zombies - they get caught, their flesh ripped from their body, and eventually tangled - in a thick enough brush. She continued down the winding path until she came upon a tree off to the side. She stepped over and climbed a slightly hidden ladder that was attached to the side. She went up quite the ways until she came to a platform - fashioned around the upper heights of the tree. She looked down - her wolf standing guard at the base of the tree, his nose sniffing about. He was attentive - and careful. She looked out and bit her lip slightly. She pulled her binoculars out and glanced around. Her vision honed it on a large pit, not far out. She could see a few zombies standing it - dead carcasses below them. They were trapped. The pit had spikes all throughout it, they couldn't climb even if they knew how. Though at the bottom was dead humans, killed naturally, or not - which were bait to these Zombies. She spied three more pits. These were her traps... The binoculars pointed to a small city in the distance. Half of the city was destroyed - the other half had been fixed up. Surrounding it was huge wall, in the middle she could tell the people were bustling around.... She turned her gaze and glanced at her own home - Solar panels on the roof, garden on the sides of the house, surrounded by a tall wall of vines - that hid the home decently. She then glanced about to her other traps... her bell traps had not gone off... yet. This was a trap with a trip wire - if it was set off, a set of huge church bells would go off about a mile away. It would attract the near by zombies, who then would walk into a death - cathedral, set up by yours truly. She hummed softly, her work was quiet today, which was odd. There must have been some good bounties out, or perhaps a new group had been zombie hunting. This was fine - she still made a mint with her workload... She climbed down and dusted herself off. "Just the usual today, Jet, c'mon" she waved him forward. In her hand she gripped her compact bow, on her hip was a quiver with several arrows. She didn't wear anything crazy though, not like some of the try hards. She wore a long sleeve graphic tshirt, it was clean and kept, and a pair of jeans. Though she did wear combat boots, they worked well in the mess of things. On her hip was a machete, sharp and ready, and then an axe on her back - one you might use to split logs. This was her arsenal, she didn't need much more. Though, she had a few flares, fight crackers and bangs, all in a little pouch, enough to get out of a sticky situation if she needed it. She walked for a bit - slipping around the messy terrain. She hummed softly as she came to the huge pit. 7 Zombies stood in the middle - idle like a video game that had been paused. "How do you do" she questioned with a smile. She lifted her bow and fired easily - with precision. She shot each zombie in the head, until the pit was dead - dead once more. She looked down - she had a good few arrows left... Not to worry.. She turned and glanced to Jet, who sat patiently, watching. "Anything?" she questioned. The Wolf huffed and then paced slightly, sniffing the air. Nothing. "Nothing at all?" she asked and then sighed. "No joy in today's work" she muttered and then gripped her bow once more. "Just a sec then" she jumped down into the pit and pulled out a small knife. She cut the thumbs of the zombies off and tossed them into a plastic bag. This was her proof, for payment. Though, it sucked then they didn't have a thumb - then she lost out on that, but usually not a big bump in her day. She climbed out of the pit easily, lifting herself from spike to spike. "Alright, on to the next" She nodded - Jet moved forward and lead the way. It was obvious this was a routine, her doing her civic duty...

Ellie Rowe Some were lucky enough to end up in the cities when the virus broke out. Others...not so much. Ellie Rowe fell in that category, of not so much. When the apocalypse broke out she was the last to know. Or at least that is what she would tell someone if anyone cared to ask. She lived outside of the city. She didn’t have access to all the tech that everyone else did. She worked in a garage with her father, he was the first she saw die to the zombies. It was a tough time and even more so she lost everything. Within the factions that broke out there was a group called Raiders. There wasn’t ever much left of their victims, just meat for the zombies to eat. They gave no care who or what they attacked, they wanted Zcoin. They wanted food. Booze was another of their favorites. It was nearly 6 months into the outbreak when Ellie ran into these brutes. She had bolstered up her father’s home in the country. Boarded up the windows placed spikes around the perimeter. She had guns and ammunition to last. And luckily her father was a prepper so she had food in the basement to last her a good while. She hoped until this whole thing rode out. Ellie remembered seeing them, they rode up to her home in a humvee that had military insignias upon it. They wore military uniforms even. If there was something her father taught her to respect it was those in uniform. When they approached the home she opened the door quite willingly with a smile upon her lips. She thought this was the end of the outbreak. The military had come to save her. No. Not even close. She wasn’t ready to defend herself, and thus she couldn’t. Ellie fought against them but four men against one woman...well. It wasn’t a fair game. They forced her to show them her supply of food and they took it all. Every last can. Every last shell of ammunition. They loaded it up as she sobbed with her hands tied behind her back. Young and naive. Her father would roll in his grave if he knew she allowed this to happen. The most precious thing that they took however was a vehicle that her father built with her. They had been working on it since she was a child. It was an old vw bug, but it wasn’t stock. Not by any means. And it still needed work of course. Big tires, push bar in the front, extra tires on the back. They made her show them how to start it, the thing was clean enough that they knew it ran. With the extra gas cans it was a score, certainly. Then they took her with them. A trophy of sorts. Soon enough Ellie found out the these men were not from the military at all. They called themselves Raiders. Ellie was tossed into a cage with other humans that they had taken hostage, those that they deemed worthy to take. She looked around to the men and women that were locked away with her, none seemed to interested in conversing with her. “What is this place?” She asked. “This is your hell before hell.” A man from the corner answered. “We are cheap. Disposable entertainment for those meat heads.” He had scars on his arms, a patch over his left eye. “What do you mean by that?” She asked as she drew her brows together and crossed her arms over her chest. Her blonde hair filtered into her emerald eyes. “Entertainment?” She scoffed. “They should have just killed me. I’m not here to entertain anyone. They took my food. My ammo. Everything! They took my damn car.” She shook her head. The man chuckled, a dry laugh as he watched her. “Oh that is exactly why they didn’t kill you.” He smirked. “You are a fighter. Aren’t you?” Ellie had her hands balled into fists. “Oh? They want to see a fighter? They didn’t even give me a chance to fight back.” She snapped as she stepped forward. “New girl.” One of the men stated from the gate of the cell. “You’re up. Boss wants ya.” The man wore leathers and a hodge podge of clothing, a mask over his face. Spikes lined some of his armor which gave him a menacing look. Ellie stepped toward the door. Her heart began to pound within her chest. For what? Why did he want her? She was chained and marched along. She looked about the camp. There were quite a few of these men and women, they all looked as raggedy as the next in their thrown together armor. She was shoved forward into a cage at the entrance of an arena. “What’s this?” She questioned as she spun around. “You are the entertainment for the evening.” A man stepped forward with a cigar in hand. “I’m not your entertainment.” Ellie spat and then kicked at the cage. “You kidnapped me.” She snapped as she pulled against the cuffs on her wrists. The man cackled as he leaned in close. “That’s why you’re the entertainment. You’re my prisoner. I’ll do with you what I want. Now then.” He pointed behind her to the small arena, there were already people gathering for the spectacle. “We will start easy. You get your choice of weapons in the middle there. Kill a few zombies. That’s how you pay for your life here.” He grinned wickedly. Ellie’s expression fell as he spoke she stared to the table in the center. Not a gun in sight. It was all melee weapons, the closer the better she imagined. “And if I win?” She asked. “Oh, they never do.” He chuckled as he walked away. Ellie’s wrists were grabbed by one of the men and the cuffs were removed. She stepped forward into the arena. The crowd yelled at her, they laughed and cheered. Her heart pounded within her chest. She came to know the man that spoke to her as the boss of the Raiders. Mr. Benson. She didn’t know his first name. No one called him anything other than that. She walked forward to the table and lifted a machete into her hands and just as soon as she did, zombies were let into the arena with her. She was lucky enough to have skill with a blade, her father had taught her well. Lucky he was a doomsday prepper. That night was long. Grueling. She fought to the end until they stopped letting zombies in. The crowd went wild. This became her life. She was the entertainment for the Raiders. She fought zombies and humans. She fought to stay alive. That was her payment, life. She fought and fought and as she did so she planned. It was early morning when she finally executed her plan for an escape. She wasn’t sure how long she had been held captive. She’d lost count after a few years. They’d knock her out or rough her up and there were days that she simply lost track of. Ellie slipped through the broken bar of her cell. She was moved long ago into her own cell after all of her wins, that was supposed to be a praise for putting on such a good show for the Raiders. It felt like a punishment. Though, most of the others that were captured died quickly. Ellie slipped into the moonlight and leaped over a low wall. She crouched as she hurried along. She wore her own mix of clothing now. Thick leather boots with thick soles. Leggings that had seen better days and had holes through them. A pair of jean shorts that she was given from a dead body, most of her items were from bodies. She wore a black tank top and a belt of pouches that didn’t hold anything. They stripped her items from her after each fight. Ellie had a pair of goggles upon her head and her once beautiful blonde hair was a mess that tasseled down passed her shoulders. She easily slipped behind one of the guards and pulled a cord from her belt. A smirk curved up her lips as she leaped and latched onto his back, her legs wrapped around his torso as she cinched the cord around the man’s neck. He choked and stumbled back as he tried to pull her from his back. He slammed his back against the wall of a building, though this didn’t cause Ellie to fall, she had been hit much harder than that before. She waited until he stopped moving and fell to the ground before she pulled ammunition from his body. She tossed snacks into her pouches and grabbed his shot gun. “Thanks asshole.” She kicked his body before she rushed off. Ellie ran forward and slipped through the shadows easily. She smirked as she snuck passed many of the Raiders, they were drunk at this hour, it made her life much easier. Then there was the trouble of acquiring her vehicle back. She knew it was here. Somewhere. She heard them start it up every now and then. But just as she thought about finding it alarms sounded. “We have an escapee! It’s that blonde crazy girl.” A raider yelled after his radio had spoken the words. “Oh me?” Ellie came from the shadows a smirk on her lips. “Crazy? That’s not very nice.” She lifted the shotgun and aimed for his head before she pulled the trigger. She leaned forward and pulled his pistol from his grip. “Thanks, just what I needed.” She spoke as she then pulled ammo from his body. “Ooo mask.” She grinned as she pulled a mask from around his neck. “You won’t be needing this anymore.” She grabbed his radio and then she took off. Ellie chuckled as she heard the uproar behind her, shots were fired. She leaped onto the fence and scaled it quickly. As she did so a bullet caught her thigh and she fell from the top of the fence to the ground below. She groaned as she pushed to her feet. She could hear zombies. “Great...” She muttered as she pushed herself to run, though with a significant limp. Ellie ran through the night, she managed to outsmart the zombies and she’d nearly fallen into these giant pits filled with zombies at one point. That would have been a mistake. Ellie had stopped in the early morning hours, her body was exhausted. She’d lost a good deal of blood from the gunshot wound. She leaned against a tree as she sat on the ground. She ripped a bit of her tank top and bit down on it as she dug the bullet from her leg. This wasn’t the first time she had to self administer healing a wound. She let out a whimper as she did this, though she pulled out the bullet and tossed it aside before she wrapped her leg tightly to stop the bleeding. She heard footsteps approaching and she let out a sigh. “Can’t I get a break…?” She muttered to herself, her vision was blurred. She wouldn’t hold up long like this. It was a wonder that she’d made it through the night. She pulled her shotgun and reached into her pouch for two bullets to reload the chamber. She was out. She’d used her last bullets on the last pack of zombies that tried to attack her just hours ago. That was the reason the pits didn’t have nearly as many zombies as usual in them. Ellie grit her teeth as she prepared, she would have to smack the zombie in its head, knock its head off. That was her only chance...

Jet paused - his nose lifted into the air and sniffed wildly. "What's up?" she questioned. She raised a brow and then Jet started forward in a swift pace. "Alright, I'm coming" she drew her bow then and gripped it close. They went a good bit - just beyond the second pit. Then Jet stopped and began to prowl, sniffing more. Finally he came to a tree. Her eyes glanced down and looked to a trail of blood - not far a few zombies had been destroyed. She grit her teeth - it was bright red, fresh blood. Zombies had oozing dark blood - much like their soggy dead flesh. She turned around the tree to spy a woman - dressed in scrap clothes, bleeding out.
Suddenly - the shot gun in her hand swung towards her. She stepped back easily, avoiding the swing completely and sighed. She could tell this woman was weak, likely dying. "Put that down" she spoke and then reached forward, gripping the shot gun with ease, she peeling it from the womans grip. "Hey - whoa stay with me." she knelt down as the woman's head fell limp and she passed out... She sighed softly and looked around - it was quiet. How many zombies did this woman kill? She took in a breath then and tucked her arms under the woman and lifted her. The woman was light - likely starved to a degree. She carried her easily back to the pathway, and soon enough - back to her home.
"Don't make me regret this..." she spoke and carried her down to her basement. She had a cell down below - not a coincidence either. It was intentional design of her own. Usually she kept this for bounties - the ones where they were wanted alive. She didn't know this woman, and in this world - trust no one. She set the woman down on the make shift cot and leaned down. "You dug it out already, huh?" she stood and grabbed a medical kit. She packed the wound and wrapped it with gauze easily, after cleaning it with alcohol.
"Jet" she called out. Her voice echo'd through her tidy home - a few seconds passed and her wolf came trotting down the stairs. The room they were in was dimly lit. There was a desk next to the small cell, and then some boxes in the corner. A few kegs, and what not, nothing out of the ordinary. "Keep watch and let me know when she wakes" she spoke. The wolf whimpered, as if he didn't want to do that, and then sat a few feet from the cage - watching the woman on the cot sleep. He huffed - and then she walked away.
Her steps lead her into the kitchen, where she began prepping some food. She was running low - and would need to make a stop into the city soon. She pulled some chicken strips from the freezer and slapped them onto her gas stove. She cranked it on and let it start to cook, meanwhile she rustled through her pantry for some canned goods. "Hmm..."
Suddenly her watch began to blink and beep at her. She lifted a brow and stepped over to her laptop - she opened it and glanced at a feed that pulled up. She had Cameras placed all throughout her home, this one was at the front gate. Several raiders stood, waving at the Camera - they knew it was there, and they knew who she was. She sighed and clicked a button - "What do you want?" she questioned. "Enter and I'll blow you to dust, I've got 5 guns pointed at you right now"
"Lilyanne, I'm calling bullshit right now" one of the men grinned and looked closer to the Camera. "We're looking for a certain woman, she has a pretty good bounty on her head. 500 Zcoins. She's uh... medium height, skinny, blonde, wearing scrappy clothes. She got shot and likely hobbled through your way" he spoke.
Lily grit her teeth and then hit the button again. "Nothing of the sort on my scout today. The Zombie's are quiet though, maybe they're feasting on her body"
"Well, we're going to come in and have a look. Just for safety, Mr.Benson is insistent on this one..." he reached for the gate.
"Not happening" She replied calmly.
"You don't have a choice love. If you're clean, you're clean -nothing to worry about. But, I've got my orders. We could cut you from your supply if you wanted?"
"I could cut you of the scouting, and let your asses be overran" she replied back through grit teeth.
"Ah dear, we already know your ways. We could easily have someone else do it... You're just doing your job, and so are we..." he opened the gate then and stepped inside.
Truth is - the guns was a bluff. She wouldn't dare shoot guns in the middle of the forest, that would be a death wish. She sighed finally and rushed downstairs... she unlocked the cell and slapped a knife on the table. "Jet, Blue Alert" She spoke and they rushed up the stairs. She pushed a button on the side of her toaster oven - and a sheet rock wall moved infront of the doorway to the basement, as if it never existed.
"Invasion of my home..." She spoke as the door opened, the men had finished their sweet outfront. Except two of them stayed outfront… She sighed. "I don't appreciate it much..." she crossed her arms.
"Don't resist so much, it makes you look guilty. Let us sweep, and we'll be on our way..." the leader of the group spoke. Sitting next to her was Jet, who watched closely. Lily crossed her arms and watched as the men glanced around the living room. One went up the stairs and another came to the kitchen. "Where do you normally keep your bounty's, hm?" he questioned.
"I have a shed out back, I usually lock them in there" she spoke. Which, was true. She did used to do that, but the conditions were cruel, and figured she would build something different.
"Mm.." he the guy held a radio up to his lips and clicked it down. "Check the Shed" he spoke.
After a little bit - the radio chirped back "Negative, Shed is clear" , then the man from upstairs came down. "Nothing upstairs"
"Just jumpy, huh? Looks like Bambi isn't here... you should stay more calm" he grinned.
"Forgive my tension, but in this day and age - men coming into your home with guns and grins - is usually a terrible sign... even if they are on your side..." she took a breath. "So then, off you go?"
"No tea then?" The man questioned, then he chuckled. "Fair..." he stepped past her and looked at her home. "Your place is so clean, so nice. You fix these appliances your self? A dishwasher? Does it work?"
"Erm.. yeah, it does." she sighed.
"Luxury living... maybe next time you see me - you should be scared" he laughed then. Slowly he stepped forward and pressed a finger onto her chin. "Unless... hmm.." he looked around. "A great home for a little family, hm?" he leaned in and sucked in her breath. Lily did not flinch or move.
"You better back up..." she whispered. "You know what I can do..."
"Mhm, it's pretty hot..." he finally stepped back slightly and glanced about once more. He held the radio up and clicked it "Let's head out." he slipped the radio away and nodded. "Oh, baked beans and... your broccoli is ready to be picked out back - would finish your meal here...smells good" he chuckled and then stepped towards the door, waiting for his men to gather up.

Ellie sat in waiting, her vision had become tunneled in by the time Lily came around the corner. She could have been a zombie….a human, a damn raider and she still would have swung. Though it didn’t turn out too well. She heard the voice but the words were so muddled that she couldn’t make sense of it as the shotgun was pulled from her hands. She stumbled forward then as she took in a quick breath, her hands balled into fists and then darkness…
**
Rock music played over a radio as Ellie wrenched on a car in the shop. Her feet stuck out from beneath the jacked up car as she whistled to the tune. She tightened up the bolt to the pan and just as she was about to roll herself out someone grabbed the bottom of the roller bench. “Hey!” She called out as she nearly hit her head against the edge of the vehicle as she was yanked out quickly.
“Ellie.” Her father spoke, he looked nervous. “Look baby girl, they just said something crazy over the radios. We should be alright, we are out of town a good bit. But...we need to prepare, hm?”
“What are you talking about dad?” She asked as she got to her feet with his help.
“A virus was released….it’s changing people...making them...” He paused a moment. “Zombies is the word they are using. It might just be the media playing up...but...I don’t know girl.” He started walking toward the home. He wrapped his arm around her. “We gotta stay safe huh? We have our food and our house is safe. No zombie apocalypse is gonna get us.” He kissed the top of her head.
Ellie chuckled softly. “Nothing to worry about. The media plays everything up.” She hugged him back as they walked into the home. It wasn’t but a few hours later that Ellie was washing dishes after dinner that she heard a yell from the garage. She grabbed her shotgun and rushed outside to find 6 or 7 zombies on top of her father ripping him to shreds as he screamed. She let out a sob which alerted them to her presence. Ellie quickly aimed and fired. She took off each of their heads one by one until the bodies lay on the ground. As she moved forward to look over her father it was a mess of blood and guts. She whimpered as she looked away. “Nothing to worry about….” She whispered to herself as she looked to the dead zombies. Her father’s hand flinched and gripped onto her foot then and a groan came from his body. “No...” She breathed. There was no way he could be alive, it wasn’t possible. She looked back to him as his jaw snapped and he gripped onto her leg. She aimed the gun and pulled the trigger...after that she stayed inside their home...up until the point that the Raiders found her...
**
When Ellie woke the first thing she saw were the thick metal bars of the cell that she lay in. She moved slowly and blinked the sleep from here eyes as she glanced around the room. She grit her teeth as she moved her leg. When her eyes fell to her leg she saw the quick patchwork, not her own. She knew that she’d tied it off with a scrap of her shirt. “How…?” She looked to the wide open cell door then and drew her brows together. It was then that she heard a bit of a ruckus up the stairs. She could hear a woman’s voice speaking to someone else. The man. The knew his voice. He led the nightly entertainment. She didn’t know his name, but she knew his voice. She shuddered slightly to the thought of the filthy man. It wasn’t always zombies that she was expected to deal with. He called her Bambi. As if he thought she was innocent and unable to defend herself. Of course, with a gun to her head and cuffs on her wrists she couldn’t do much but follow commands.
Ellie got to her feet she glanced around the basement and her eyes fell to the knife on the table. She reached forward and grasped it quickly. She limped slightly as she walked toward the stairs. She listened to the two go back and forth. Who was this woman that was clearly hiding her? Why? No one would waste their time hiding a prisoner of the Raiders.
**
The man turned and looked to Lily a grin upon his lips. “Say. Make it double the coin if you find Bambi for me. She’s a running favorite with the crowds and myself.” He grinned wickedly. “You’re a good bounty hunter, Lily. Make it happen.” He snickered then, “Or perhaps Mr. Benson should cut your supply? If you don’t show up with that girl. Unless you have something better to offer me.” He grinned once again and licked his lips before his men called for him over the radio. “I’ll see you soon, dear.” He walked from the home then.
**
Raider trash. Why would someone working with the Raiders hide her? She could only imagine the reasons and she wasn’t in the condition to run currently. She grit her teeth slightly as she waited at the base of the stairs. She looked to the knife in her hand. Was that an accident? Or had this person given the knife intentionally? Ellie glanced around the basement carefully. She stepped up to the boxes and opened the tops to look inside, food rations. She looked to the kegs. She then walked to the stairs and slowly climbed up, she kept her ascent nearly silent. She sat down at the top and closed her eyes a moment as her vision threatened to close in once again. Blood loss wasn’t her friend. She leaned her head against the cool trim as she let out a breath. She could only hope that this woman was not nearly as horrible as the rest of the Raiders...she would put of a fight if she was. At least she had the knife to defend herself.

Lily watched as the men leave. "Ease" she whispered. Jet relaxed slightly and then he walked over to the window, his blue eyes watching them go. He sat there for a long moment. "Let's check on her" she spoke. Jet slowly walked back over and waited. Lily reached for the toaster and pressed a button the side. The wall slid back up and Lily glanced down. The woman she had saved sat at the top of the stairs, appearing to be quite exhausted.
"You okay?" she questioned and backed up, stepping into the kitchen. She picked up the spatula and flipped the tenders. She then pulled out a plastic bag of broccoli from the freezer, and a can of beans. "I got interrupted while trying to make you some food" she glanced up. Jet had made his distance, but watched her closely. "He wont hurt you, that's Jet. A rescue from these shit woods - and now my partner in crime" she smirked and dumped the beans into a small pot. "Those fuckers nearly made me burn the chicken" she spoke as she dumped the broccoli into another. "I haven't had a visit from Colonel Jackass in quite some time. Tells me you are a real subject, quite the bounty on your head too, you know." she sighed. "But I know who you are" she spoke.
"You're the one who kicks ass in the Arena, their pride and joy..." she sighed softly. "But you were stolen from your home" she lifted the spatula. "Forced to do their bidding... I know how it is" she stirred the beans. "What they do is disgusting, pitting you against the captured zombies. Some real shit..." she sighed and then pulled two places from the cabinet above. "Keep the knife - consider it a trust gift. I don't trust you, you don't trust me. At least you can feel safe in that weapon, if you choose to kill me... or, maybe, if Colonel Jackass returns, you can give him a good stab, eh?" she placed two plates onto the beautiful wooden dining table. She then poured two glasses of freshly squeezed lemonade.
"My name is Lily, this is my humble abode. I make it my goal to ensure the small things in life - like good lemonade, toilet paper, a hot shower... doesn't disappear in this shit world" she smirked and then sat at the table. "And I suppose, you are my guest here - what do you call yourself?"

Ellie looked up from where she sat, her eyes heavy. She drew her brows together when the woman asked if she was okay. She watched as she walked back toward the kitchen. Her eyes looked to the wolf that seemed to watch her very closely, she could imagine that he would attack if she gave him the reason to. Her fingers curled more tightly around the hilt of her dagger as she watched the woman from where she sat. She was making her food? She took in a deep breath, it smelled incredible. Much better than the slop that they were given in the cells. It was more of the slime than anything, the food that the Raiders didn’t eat. That was part of the reason she was so small, it was incredible that she even survived the fights the was placed in.
It felt strange to watch someone cook. To have someone speak to her without ordering her around. She was so used to being on the receiving end of their abuse that she didn’t even blink an eye anymore. Her eyes moved to the wolf as the woman introduced him. Chicken. Ellie couldn’t remember the last time she’d truly had chicken. Broccoli...she saw the fresh florets as the woman dumped them into a pot. Ellie slowly stood, her eyes watched the wolf, and she kept a keen eye on the woman. She expected her to turn on her any moment. She would need to defend herself. When she spoke of the man Ellie let out a chuckle, a smirk formed on her lips. “He’s the worst asshole they have.” She spoke as she walked into the kitchen. She moved herself into a corner where her back was against the counter. She could see Jet and the woman from this vantage point and nothing could come up behind her.
Ellie raised her brows slightly when the woman spoke that she knew who she was. She crossed her arms over her chest, her hand still held firmly onto the blade in her hand. The woman spoke of that very object then. She looked down to it before the woman spoke that she should stab the man if he comes back. She smirked, “I’ll stab him more than once. Just for good measure.” She replied as she watched her pour the fresh lemonade. She looked to the plates that the woman made. It was like a fancy sit down restaurant meal, she hadn’t had food like that since before the outbreak.
Ellie uncrossed her arms as the woman introduced herself as Lily. She watched as she sat at the table. “Guest...” She spoke as she stepped forward and took her seat, she slipped the knife into a sheath upon her thigh. Her other thigh however throbbed. “You...um...you can call me Ellie.” She spoke and tucked her brows together slightly. “Ellie Rowe...you’re right about them...but you know that...you’re one of them...” She didn’t pick up her utensils. She wouldn’t eat until Lily ate. There were far too many tricks in this world and she’d learned the hard way unfortunately.
“When do you plan on turning me in for that bounty? When they double it again?” She asked as she reached forward and took a sip of her lemonade after she’d watched Lily do so. She paused as she looked to the liquid. She’d only had dirty water since she was captured. Muddy...filthy water. Ellie grinned and took another long drink this time. She didn’t stop there, she cut into the chicken and took a bite before she grinned. “This...is real food.” She spoke she scooped up some beans and then broccoli. It was as if she hadn’t eaten in ages. Before she knew it she’d inhaled the entire plate. Ellie looked to Lily then. “Why would you help me? If you know who I am?” She questioned. “The Raiders don’t take kindly to those who push back against them...” She took her last drink of lemonade and set the glass down. “If you don’t trust me why am I not in that cage downstairs?” She questioned curiously then.

Lily watched the woman as they sat. She smirked - she felt like she knew this woman for a moment. She did the same thing that Lily might have done in her position. Out of curtesy - she cut into her chicken and took a bite. "Ellie then" she spoke while chewing. She lifted a chicken tender and tossed it into the air. Jet's jaws snapped forward and gobbled it swiftly, and happily. She then resumed his post, looking at the two eating, with steady eyes. "I'll only turn you in if you give me trouble" she spoke and then leaned back. "I might work for the Raiders, but I am no raider" she took a sip of her lemonade then.
"You killed on their behalf, didn't you?" she questioned. "You could have fought them, but you knew you'd be killed. Or you could have killed yourself... well, theres no joy in that. Instead. Everyday you got up and entertained them..." she smirked slightly. "Against your will, of course" she took another bite and sat for a moment. "Only difference is you were in a cage, and I am out here..." she sighed. "I could certainly leave, but..." she pressed her lips together. "I can't" she sighed softly. "For now, I have to survive here. I scout and kill zombies, they pay me per thumb, and I get rations." she stood then and got the pitcher of lemonade, she poured a fresh pour for Ellie and sat back down.
"And no, I don't trust you. And you shouldn't trust me. You shouldn't trust a damned person in this world" she nodded. "For now, I have no intentions of cashing you in. But, if you pick a bone with me - I'll happily do so. But, I don't think you will" she leaned back. "You've sat in that cell, living in absolute horror, you're wounded... this - is fucking paradise. Just take it while you can, while I'm still feeling generous...Otherwise Jet here will get a good bite of that ass, hm?" she finished her plate and then stood. She walked over to cabinet and then pulled out a bottle of medication. "It's expired, but still good" she tossed the bottle to her. It was pain killers.
From the distance - loud church bells went off. Lily grinned then and leaned against the counter. "Good ol' trap. One of those dummies hit my wire - close to town. Abandoned church off the ways goes off - they all go crowding to that sound, entering this church, just to be chopped into happy bits by my Cathedral of Death, ah, my pride and joy..." she chuckled.
"That's what I do.. those pits? Mine, the noose traps and tar traps? Also mine. Everyday, I go out and reset them, finish off the zombies, every so often I have to clear the Cathedral. That is my duty..." she paused. "While the Raiders might be hot trash - they have taken over that city, which was once a good city. As they have many cities. Turning into their fortress, and forcing the people there to do their bidding. The way they treat people is trash, but the citizens - get by. We all have our jobs, we have no choice on them. We get paid, and we survive. As much as its real shit - they protect the people decently. What I do out here - is I make sure the innocent people in there... get to live another day" she crossed her arms. "The only reason the Raiders show me any ounce of respect, is because I am not to be fucked with. And soon enough, you'll have that reputation too. You've been enslaved by them for so long, they don't realize that they trained you to be a killing machine. I imagine... you want some payback, hm?" she smirked then. "I've been waiting and plotting, how I can save my people. 2 years We've been trapped, meanwhile the Raiders grow... taking over the next city and the next..."

Ellie watched as she tossed the chicken to Jet. She kept her attention on Lily though. She worked for the Raiders, but she didn’t believe in their customs it seemed. Ellie drew her brows together slightly as Lily spoke. “It was kill or be killed...” She spoke and shook her head. “I didn’t kill for them. I killed to stay alive. If I didn’t kill the humans or the zombies that they threw at me...I wouldn’t be sitting here. I just so happen to be one of the few that actually survived...” She let out a long breath. She could see Lily’s point. She was just as controlled as Ellie. Just without the cage. She had to kill the zombies as well. She couldn’t leave for some reason. She didn’t seem to want to speak about her reasoning either.
Ellie grasped her cup when Lily refilled it and she took a long drink. She couldn’t imagine anything else tasting so wonderful. “You’re right about that. No one can be trusted in this world...” She spoke up and took another drink. Lily wasn’t wrong about her either. She didn’t intend to put up a fight, unless she had to. She had fought nearly every day of her life since the Raiders took her. If she wasn’t fighting for her life she was fighting something else. She couldn’t decide which was worse. “I don’t want to challenge your friend there.” She chuckled, “And I would quite like to keep him from taking a chunk off of me. My leg hurts enough.” She commented with a smirk. She was tossed the medication and Ellie looked it over a moment before she nodded and took a few pills from the bottle. “Expiration dates don’t matter much anymore. Do they?”
She turned her attention to the church bells that tolled in the distance and her brow raised. From inside the city she could hear those bells every now and again. “You built it?” She asked, she’d heard some of the Raiders talk about the trap. How dangerous it was to get near the place. “That’s impressive.” She spoke before she finished off her lemonade once again. This woman was a trapper, a hunter for the Raiders. She kept the city of assholes safe. Ellie didn’t care for that much, but the trapping was interesting. She knew that the Raiders were taking over slowly. She’d heard them talking over the years.
Lily caught Ellie’s attention then. Payback. She grinned wildly then. “Oh I’d kill them all if I could. I’d string them up for the zombies to munch on. All of their deaths would be as slow and painful as possible.” She watched Lily then. “When you say we’ve been trapped...who else are you speaking of? I’ve got something that I want from within that city too...”

"You've been caged, but you're not dumb, that's good at least" she winked and then stepped over once more to fill the cup up, polishing off the rest of the lemonade. She walked over to the sink and filled it with water, to sit for a little. "They have my little sister, and I won't be getting her back anytime soon. Not unless I kill them all off, she is their life source..." she sighed softly. "They kidnapped her about 2 years ago, or so, after some blabber mouth spoke that she got bit - and it didn't effect her at all. Now, she is their cash machine" she grit her teeth. "I have figured out how I'm going to bust her out. I wonder, sometimes, if they killed her off. Or if the damn pills they pay me in - is her blood" she shook her head and then turned the sink off, it had been running water the entire while.
"All of them do it though, Raiders or not... The Immune are just tools..." she shook her head. "Almost makes me want to rescue her - and then put a bullet in her head. So she doesn't have to do it again... but then, I think of the civilians who need it" she sighed. "Whats in there for you?" she questioned curiously.
"We'd have to be absolutely insane to barge in there, no way - even with both our skills..." she crossed her arms. "At this point though, I wonder what the point of living even is anyways. For now, its me and Jet, and I almost don't want to leave him" she looked to him - he whimpered slightly and then laid his head down as he relaxed. He could tell the tension had been released, the two would co-inhabit, for now.
"Well, let's get you cleaned up and maybe we can plot some more... Do you prefer a shower, or a bath?" she questioned and opened up a door to a large bathroom. It had a jet tub, with several bath bombs stacked up in a whicker basket. "I had to kill a few people for this tub" she laughed. "Theres a big ass city not far off, I jacked a truck and busted into a Lowes, pick this up, a few other stuff. Best extraction of my life, granted... it was a zombiefest, and super dangerous... worth it though..." she grinned. "Hot water and all... I was taught young how to self sustain, so I got it all. Solar Panels, Well Water, a little gardening... good stuff. Meanwhile people in city struggle for a decent cup of water..."

Ellie watched Lily as she spoke openly about her sister. It didn’t take much prodding to get her to talk about it. She couldn’t imagine something like that being taken. She took in a breath, “I’ve heard about those meds. The Zcoin. I didn’t realize it was like that. But I don’t put it passed the Raiders to do some selfish shit like that.” She shook her head. “You’re right, she’s a cash machine to them, anything to make some coin.” She stepped over to the sink and gave a nod before she started scrubbing at the dishes. She kept her eyes on Lily though.
Ellie took in a breath when she asked what was within the city for her. “A piece of my family.” She replied. “It’s a car, my father and I built it before the apocalypse. It’s a work in progress...but it’s all I have left of him...they took it from me, along with my home. I had plenty of food. In fact I would have been living close to the level you are.” She scoffed. “Just an hour outside of town, Rowe’s garage, if you know it. That was my dad and I’s place...” She sighed softly then, a bit of sadness in her eyes as she placed clean dishes in the drying rack.
She grinned then and let out a laugh as Lily said they would have to be insane to go in there. “You’re right. What else is there hm? I don’t have anything.” She shrugged. “You do though.” She motioned to the home as she moved and leaned against the counter once again. “And you’ve got yourself quite a nice companion.” She chuckled as she looked to Jet as he’d relaxed. He was a rather smart creature.
Then Lily offered her something she hadn’t truly had since she was captured by the Raiders. A shower or a bath. She was willing to bet the water wasn’t muddy too. She grinned as she saw the jet tub, she’d always wanted one of those. But they never had the money. “I bet this was a pain in the ass to get in here.” She seemed to size up the doorways as she chuckled and stepped forward. “Bath bombs even?!” She exclaimed giddily. It was clear that she didn’t have all of her screws tightened. Ellie was happy to have just about anything. She had been deprived for so long...forced to do so many horrible things that this was paradise. “I’ll take the bath.” She grinned as she shut the door. “Thanks!” She called from inside the bathroom as she drew the water.
It was quite a while later that Ellie emerged with a towel wrapped around her body and a towel around her hair. “Hey uh….Lily?” She asked as she glanced around. “Would you happen to have any spare...not so bloody and ripped up clothing?” She asked, she had the knife tucked up under her arm. As much as she wanted to trust this woman, she couldn’t. Trust was hard to come by these days.

"A car huh?" she smirked. Who was she to judge, her house was stock piled with the tiny shit. The stuff most people over look when they think survival. Not Lily, it was that tiny stuff that kept her going. She chuckled as Ellie perked up to the shower opportunity, the bath bombs enticing. "Enjoy" she chuckled and stepped back into the kitchen. She opened her fridge - she was getting low on meat, which she hated. Jet was not a fan of dog food, he was spoiled on thick steaks, and so was she. She stepped outside as Ellie bathed. She stepped out to her tree and climbed to the top - eyes spying the traps. The sun was high in the sky, it was roughly mid-day. She peered to the pit traps, they were doing okay... Her binoculars then honed it on the raider city...
She squinted slightly and looked about - she could see several men riding in on ATVs. Search parties - looking for Ellie no doubt. They would revisit her surely, and they wouldn't stop hunting Ellie. But why? Why would they try so hard? Did they fear her that much? She pressed her lips together and then climbed from her tree tower. She made her way back to her home, Jet had stayed in the house to guard it, or more like signal her if there was an issue. As she re-entered, Ellie came from the bath. "How was it?" she smirked and then nodded. "come on" she lead her up the stairs into the spare room. The room had a tidy bed, and a dresser. She opened the first drawer and sifted through it.
"A while back I had a room mate, about your size. I guess, for now you can have this room - and whatever is In it. Dig in" she spoke. "The closet has some armor type stuff, I think... she was a little weird. But, generally pretty cool" she smirked and then she stepped to the door. "Once you're dressed - meet me down stairs, we might have a small problem on our hands..." she spoke and then left her to be.
She stood in the kitchen - she stood over a pitcher and squeezed lemons into the glass. As Ellie came down she glanced up and smiled. "What did you select?" she questioned, her hues looking over the woman's attire... just as she stopped to take it in - her watch began to beep wildly. She stepped over to her laptop and opened it up - men at her gate again. They didn't wait for her to answer, they were crossing her lawn now. She swiftly stepped over to the toaster and slapped the button - hiding her basement. "In the walk in - " she opened the door to the pantry and closed it swiftly. She stood back over to her counter and pulled a hand gun from her holster and held it calmly, her head titled to the side as the front door opened...

“The hot clean water?” Ellie grinned, “I couldn’t tell you the last time I’d had a bath like that. The water that the Raiders give the prisoners...well...it isn’t exactly clean. But, I took what I could get...” She shrugged slightly. She followed Lily up the stairs and to the small bedroom. She glanced around and stepped forward to the dresser and moved a few pieces of clothing around. “I’m sure there are plenty of problems in this world.” Ellie scoffed slightly before she gave a nod. “I’ll be quick.”
She then shut the door and found her way to the closet where she picked out new clothes. Lily was right, she was just about the same size as the woman that had been her previous roommate. She wondered what happened. Then again, in a world like this anything could have happened to the girl. Ellie pulled on a pair of jeans she let out a laugh as she looked to the rips in the material. She then pulled on an old graphic t-shirt for what looked like a metal band, she didn’t recognize the name, but the graphic was pretty cool. She grabbed her goggles and strapped them onto her head before she slipped on her boots. She found a knife holster and attached the knife to her thigh. A few belts here and there that she’d brought with her from the city, she wrapped those around her waist, she’d add weapons to them eventually. Ellie then made her way down the stairs. “Found a cool shirt.” She grinned to Lily and let out a chuckle. Though, the smile fell from her expression as the alarm sounded.
Before she knew it she was hidden away in the walk in pantry. Ellie pulled the knife from her holster and grit her teeth. These damn Raiders wouldn’t stop hunting her...all the money that she brought in for them. They didn’t want to see that go away. She listened as she stood in silence within the dark, she heard the door open…
“Alright sweet cheeks.” In came the man from before. He had three other men behind him, they all held assault rifles as they filed into her home. He held a pistol which he waved around as he stepped forward. “Word on the street is….someone saw you dragging a body into this house of yours.” The men fanned out and began rummaging through the house. One of his men stayed at the door his rifle honed in on Lily, one wrong move. Things were tossed about, glass broken. “You’re going to tell me where the fuck Bambi is or we will rip this house apart piece by piece, Lily.” He pressed the gun into the curve of her jaw, pointing it toward her head. “Your gun.” He smirked. He grabbed it harshly from her hand and set it upon the counter near the pantry. “It’s an easy question.” He spoke as he stepped away from her. He poured himself a glass of lemonade. He took a long drink and then sighed, “Now, that...” He grinned, “That’s good stuff. Perhaps you are home maker material?” He snickered as he eyed her for a moment. He walked over to the pantry. “What else do you have in here? I might just take some home with me. All of it, actually. You won’t be needing it. Mr. Benson told me to bring you to him if you won’t talk.” He clicked his tongue. “Sounds like a good evening, if you ask me.” He snickered as his fingers curled around the handle to the pantry.
Ellie was ready. As he pulled the door open she sprung into action. She leaped forward, the knife wedged into his collarbone and stabbed down into his chest. She gripped his pistol in nearly the same moment. She turned the pistol to the man that stood at the door, he had aimed in on her and pulled the trigger of his assault rifle. Ellie pulled the trigger on the pistol as she used the man’s body as a shield. Gunfire erupted in the kitchen. Ellie shoved the man from her body as she watched the other fall to the floor, footsteps echoed through the home as the others rushed in. Ellie shoved the pistol against the small of her back as she lifted the assault rifle from the man. She inspected it for a second and cleared the chamber before she turned just as another of the soldiers came into the room. “Early Christmas present for ya.” She giggled as she unloaded a clip into the man. Blood splattered everywhere. She tossed the empty gun to the side and kicked the body as she took his gun.
“Gottcha!” A man came from behind the corner and wrapped his arms around Ellie. He towed her backward. “Get down here! I got her.” The man called up the stairs to the remaining soldier.
“Holy shit man...” The soldier spoke as he walked down the stairs and stepped over his fallen comrade. “We’ve got men down.” He spoke over his radio. There was a garbled response. “Come on, we gotta move.”
Ellie struggled against the soldier as he began to drag her backwards from the room. She reached down to her thigh and grabbed her knife then. She sliced into his thigh before she spun around and shoved the blade upward into his skull. Ellie then grabbed his rifle and shot the remaining soldier. She took in quick breaths. Her eyes looked about the room, she was a well trained machine. The Raiders truly didn’t realize what they had created by forcing her to fight every day. Ellie rushed forward then. “Look out!” She slammed into Lily just as a shot was fired into the home. A red beam from the laser of a sniper shone into the home. Ellie drew her brows together then as she heard something outside. “Come on we need to move.” She grabbed Lily and pulled her along. She rushed her out the back door just as an explosion sounded from the home. Ellie was thrown forward but she scrambled to her feet, zombies were rushing toward all of the noise. “Come on!” She called over her shoulder, she limped as she ran blood soaked through the dressing on her leg. “Go!” She cried as she rushed into the forest line. She skidded to a stop and grit her teeth. “Shit...” She looked to the home as another explosion sounded. She could hear the laughter of the soldiers. “Even if you had given me up they would have done that...” She spoke as she stared to the scene. The soldiers ran about with gas canisters, everything including the garden was smoldering by the end of it.

As the men entered the home - Lily froze as she saw the man at the front door. She grit her teeth and lifted her head as the barrel of the gun was placed against her chin. "You are quite the arrogant one" she chuckled slightly. Her eyes looked to Jet - who was frozen as well, his eyes glaring at the man who held an assault rifle pointed at his head. Lily held a hand out - a single finger to Jet, their symbol for wait. It was all tense until Major Asswipe opened the pantry, to which the tazmanian devil itself exploded in a fury of rage. Lily quickly ducked downward "Sick em!" she shouted. Jet leaped forward and bit the mans leg and dragged him down, biting into his throat for the final kill. Lily opened a cabinet and grasped a hand gun - she leaned down and peaked over the cabinet - she fired several shots, men falling to the ground as quickly as they poured in.
"Out the back" she shout over the gun shots. She kept firing as she backed up. "Jet!" she called out. In an instant her wolf pounced through and barreled out the backdoor. "Behind the shed!" she shouted to Ellie. She glanced around - the front yard was on fire, she pulled her pistol and fired several more shots, until it was empty. She grit her teeth and swiftly barged into the shed. She grasped a backpack - premade as a getaway bag, she then grabbed another bag and shoveled ammo into it, until it was as full as it can get. She heard a growl from Jet - a hurry up. She then grasped a scoped rifle, an assault rifle, and then her bow and quiver. She had her hands full as she rushed out, juggling all the things, hugging them to her chest. "Shoot the lock" she shouted to Ellie. There was a padlock on the back gate. "Here" she thrust forward the assault rifle as they ran. "Go up this pathway over the hill, that'll lead us to the Church o' Doom. We can take a breather there - " there was an explosion then. She turned her gaze - her home was a fury of fire. She sucked in a breath and continued.
She slung the rifle onto her back, piled on with the backpack. "This is for you too" she reached out as they sprinted, holding a drawstring bag - the kind you might get from a giveaway or something. Then she shuffled the quiver onto her hip, and held her bow in the hand. Meanwhile her handgun was holstered on her thigh. Jet rushed forward ahead of them - he pounced a zombie ahead of them, and then stood - looking around.
Lily was breathing heavily, they had made it a little over a mile. "Just a sec" she called out and stopped. The church was in the distance... she looked around "I wonder if they know we got out..." she then gripped her bow. "Lets go" she lead her forward as they came up to the huge church. The double doors were open - inside were swinging axes, powered by solar panels on the roof. As they came up to the door - there was a huge pile of dead zombies, chopped up into bits. If they made it past the axes - there was a metal box, where if you triggered the sensors - would shoot flames into the room. "Over here" she spoke. As they entered they paused before the huge swinging axe. "I got my ideas from Crash Bandicoot, believe or not" she chuckled and turned. There was a door that most would miss - "The office" she pulled out a key and unlocked it. She opened it and walked inside. Lining the wall was canned goods, more ammo, and the like.
"I would say - we are on the run now..." she pulled her gun and backpack off and opened it up. She began to shuffle food into it, packaged and canned alike. "Fill yours up with more ammo, there's some grenades there... and lets fix up your wound, hm?" she closed the door and locked it. "Sit" she commanded her. She pulled a first aid kit and opened it up, all the goods. She helped cleaned the wound and put gauze back over it, and wrap it back up.
"Those bastards..." she finally sat and sighed. She reached over to a bottle and opened it, drinking from it. "Here" she reached forward and offered it, water fresh from the filter that was at the top of the bottle. "You're quite the monster, I think Im going to nickname you Taz" she chuckled. "Im done sitting around, you want your bug? We'll go get it, and I'll break my god damn sister out of there... we'll kill them all" she took a long sip. "I don't think they'll expect us to attack them, they'll have most of their forces out hunting for us..."

Ellie kept up with Lily as they ran. She took the bag and the rifle as it was given to her and she didn’t question the woman. She’d glance over her shoulder to the plume of smoke as they increased their distance from what was Lily’s home. “We can hope...that they don’t know we made it out...though I would be willing to bet they know.” She drew in a breath as they walked into the church. Her eyes looked to the barbaric contraption, her jaw loosened slightly. She then grinned as Lily spoke of where they idea came from. “Ahhhh loved that game.” She chuckled lightly.
Ellie glanced around as they walked into the room, her hand still held over her gunshot wound on her leg. “You really plan this stuff out...don’t you?” She raised a brow as she looked to the well stocked up room. “If uh….if we can get to my garage, my father had a bunker...it was pretty well hidden. I doubt those idiots found it...” She frowned slightly as she thought of her home. What would it even be like after all this time? Ellie fell quiet as she packed ammo into her draw string pack until it seemed as if the thing would burst at its seams. “Oh...” She looked to her leg, she’d nearly forgotten the pain. She looked to the dried blood on her hand as she moved and sat on an old chair in the room. She glanced around once again. She grit her teeth as Lily cleaned and rebandaged the wound. “Thanks...” She muttered and furrowed her brows slightly. She wasn’t used to help. It was a strange feeling, something that she wasn’t quite used to. She didn’t know how to accept it, or even trust that Lily was truly there to help her.
She looked to the bottle as it was offered forward, her brow raised once again as she looked to the filter before she took a long drink from it. A chuckle came over her lips as Lily stated her nickname. “I’m only what they formed me to be.” She spoke and then shook her head. “Lock anyone away and force them to do the things I’ve done and they might come out the other end even more messed up than I am.” She sighed softly then, it was her life. She wasn’t entirely certain what she would do now. But Lily’s next words sparked a fire in her and a grin split her lips. “I know just how to get in.” Ellie chuckled as she stood. “The best time to attack is in the dark, they won’t see us coming. I know exactly where they keep the prisoners. Lucky you.” She winked then before she placed her hands on her hips. “My car...it might be a bit harder to get to, but I’ve mapped it out over the time they’ve had me cooped up in there. When they took me out of that cage all I did was map out ways to escape and ways to get my car. Because what else does a girl have to do when she’s reduced to nothing more than a side show for a bunch of murderers?” She crossed her arms over her chest and thought for a moment. “The east side has the least amount of patrols, and I’d be willing to bet it’ll be even less tonight because they want to find me….and you.” She raised a brow slightly. “So we go in there, make our way to the holding cells...find your sister, and get my car. Then we get the hell out.” Ellie nodded as if she was proud of her plan that didn’t have much structure.
