Willow smirked and shook her head when Armin commented on having too many women in his life. Then as he wrapped his arm around her and pulled her close she tensed for a brief moment before letting her body relax completely against his side. "Hopefully, having some peace would be a nice change of pace." They still had a lot of threats from different angles to worry about. The Council members and Kai's supposed engagement, the fae, and if the Silverfangs were ever going to retaliate for the loss of Willow and the death of another pack member.
Slowing tracing her fingers along Armin's chest Willow let a spell of silence fall between them. "I think you should go and help protect Kai tomorrow. I'll be alright for an evening. Besides, I can entertain myself easily enough." She told Armin. "I did promise to make Kai a custom dress for letting me borrow her clothes."
*****
When Kai mentioned that the ridge was the spot where the mating ceremony was performed he tensed. It had not been his intention to bring her to such a place, especially after just discussing with her brother that he wouldn't go near Kai whatsoever. He really was going to get himself in trouble wasn't he? Glancing over to Kai, seeing her fair form illuminated by the moonlight, he found it hard for him to really regret his decision though. It wasn't until she mentioned that Peter would die the following day that he snapped back to his senses.
"Plan on killing him yourself?" He asked. "That could start a civil war within your pack if others find out about it." He offered. "But.. if that's what you want to do I can't really stop you." As she leaned back, letting her legs dangle over the edge, he followed suit and turned his head to study her expression as they spoke.
"You know.. I'd really like to kiss you again, but I don't think I would be able to control myself if I did." He stated in a soft voice with a small smile playing across his features.

Armin smiled to Willow as he looked over her features. “Peace would be a nice change of pace, I agree.” He lay his head back in thought. He closed his eyes as she traced her fingers along his chest. When she spoke that he should protect Kai, he opened his eyes once more and gazed to her with a soft smile upon his lips. “A custom dress? Well…that sounds like that may take you hours to make.” He smirked to her. He traced his fingertips along her side as he thought for a long moment. “Only if I feel you’ll be safe…then I will go…but…I don’t want to come back and find that the Silverfang pack sent another subordinate to retrieve you…I can’t even think of that happening…” He sighed softly.
Armin then gave another smile, “You looked lovely today…I just thought you should know that…” He had a sleepy smirk upon his lips as he watched her.
**
“My, my…why would you ever accuse me of killing my betrothed?” Kai had a cheeky grin upon her lips as she looked to Baron. “That most certainly would cause a civil war. Don’t worry, Baron, it will be an accident.” She shrugged slightly. She leaned up and peered over the edge. “Quite a long drop from here, isn’t it?” She kicked her feet as she thought of it. She smirked to him playfully, “One can only hope.” She spoke and then frowned slightly. “I don’t believe I could do it though.” She leaned back once more upon her elbows and gazed to him, the playful smile returned to her lips when he made his next statement.
“Why ever would you want to control yourself?” She asked as she turned a bit more toward him, she smirked as she searched his eyes. “I enjoy you…quite a bit…” She leaned forward and pressed her lips against his, her hand cupped his cheek. She leaned back and grinned to him then as if waiting to see what he would do.

Willow smiled and nestled against his chest as she draped her arm over his middle. It felt both strange and comforting to press this close to Armin. Even for how strange it was though she would never want to move away from him. The feeling of his warmth and the gentle rise and fall of his chest as he drew breath, she loved it. "Good night, Armin." She whispered in lieu of commenting on his compliment.
Closing her eyes she gave one more sigh and let her body slowly relax as she began to fall to sleep. Her mind, despite all the events of the day, slipping into a peaceful sleep. She could worry about everything in the morning, after getting some much needed rest.
****
Even with the threat of causing the death of another Baron couldn't help but smile at Kai. Perhaps that's what made her dangerous. That no matter what her intentions were those around her couldn't help but to agree and want to help with whatever she had planned. To Baron it made no difference if Peter lived or died. He did care if Kai ended up marrying such a pretentious wolf.
When she leaned forward Baron felt his breath catch and as she pressed her lips against his the wolf within him immediately fought for him to give in to his urges. He was good at controlling his wolf normally, but this time he let himself quickly get taken over. After Kai pulled away he quickly slipped his arm around her and pulled her back to him to kiss her once more. This time they didn't have to worry about someone stumbling upon them as he gave a soft growl as he shifted his position to lean over her.

Armin gave a gentle squeeze to Willow and let out a long breath as she nestled against his chest. “Hm, good night, Willow.” He traced along her back as he lay with his eyes closed. It took quite awhile before he finally slipped into a deep slumber. His chest rose and fell evenly. His mind pulled him through dreams of the past few days. The events that happened bombarded his mind. His breathing within his sleep would quicken and then slow once again as he moved through his memories.
**
Kai watched him with her crystal blue eyes, the knowing smirk upon her lips. She knew how intoxicating she could be, it was something she’d always had since she was a pup. Something of gift her father stated. When Baron slipped his arm around her waist a giggle came over her lips as she leaned into the kiss. When he growled and she ended up gazing up into his eyes she grinned to him. “You seem quite controlled.” She smirked as she reached up and traced her fingertips along his collarbone. Her crystal hues had melted into the golden honey color as her own wolf fought for control. She leaned up and wrapped her arms around his neck as she kissed him once again for a long moment. A playful smile was plastered upon her face as she lay back and gazed up into his eyes. “Why are you so alluring to me Baron?” She asked as she tilted her head slightly. "There's just something...about you." She was tracing along his collar bone once again.

Baron chuckled and let his hands travel down the side of Kai's body as he continued to kiss her. Her comment about his level of control amused him. The hungry look in his eyes should have been enough of an indication to tell her that his wolf was more in charge of the situation than he was. "Probably for the same reason you're so alluring to me." He replied and leaned down to press his lips against the side of her neck as she tilted her head. "I've never let any woman enchant me in such a way."
Baron had a mission, a reason for being there, but this definitely was not it. However in that moment he couldn't care less. He simply wanted to enjoy the feeling of Kai's body pressed against him. In that moment Baron was willing to fight even an alpha to prevent anyone from robbing him of this evening with her.

Kai shifted slightly as his hands ran along her body, her hands moved about his chest and shoulders. All the while she matched his kisses. A chuckle came over her lips as he replied to her question, though she didn’t get a chance to respond before she felt his lips upon her neck. She sucked in a breath as a fire ran down her skin and she grabbed at his shirt with her hand. “Hm.” A growl came over her lips as she gazed into his eyes. “I can’t say that I’ve ever let a man entice me in such a way.” She grinned playfully at him and chuckled. “I would love to explain it, but I don’t believe I can.” She pulled him to her then and kissed him with quite a bit more passion now.
Kai had never found herself enthralled by another wolf. She’d never broken her rules for herself. Sure she’d had her flings, she’d had her fun over the years. But she’d never been intoxicated by the presence of another wolf. If she was able to think straight her mind would have been racing with questions, but in this moment all she cared about was spending this time with Baron. For, the next night she may never get to spend another night with a wolf that she couldn’t seem to take her eyes off of. She’d be forced to run the hunt with Peter. Forced to marry him. She joked about killing Peter, joked about tossing him over the edge. But, in truth, she couldn’t do it. Such a move would be treason within the pack. Against her own brother…she couldn’t betray Rhett like that…but she wanted to. Somehow she wanted to overturn everything just for a chance to spend this time with Baron.

As the sun crept over the horizon and filtered in through the windows of the mansion Willow turned her face away from the light and pulled the blankets up over her head. It had only been a few hours since she'd fallen asleep but a lifetime of waking up early kept her from really being able to sleep in. After a few minutes of failed attempts to return to sleep Willow sighed and slowly sat upright in the bed with a soft groan as she stretched her arms out in front of her. "So much for extra sleep.." she commented and glanced down to Armin who still lay in the bed next to her.
She smiled and gently brushed his hair out of his face before moving to get out of the bed with another small groan. "Breakfast.." She stated softly to herself. She wanted to make sure everyone was fed and happy before they had to talk with Rhett on the matters of the fey later today. She was sure he was going to be plenty stressed as it was with the hunt and the ordeal with Kai that she wanted to ensure he at least got a good start to his day. So, still dressed in her sleep clothes, she headed out of the bedroom and down to the kitchen.
****
As the sun rose higher in the sky Baron's eyes fluttered open and groaned before moving his arm to block the sun from his face. However he was a bit surprised when he felt a weight against his arm, holding it in place, and looked down to see Kai's sleeping form still nestled up against him. He was only wearing his pants, his shirt and shoes thrown off to the side. Memories of the previous night flooded back to him and he laid his head back as he realized what he had just done.
If Rhett found out about this he would be lucky to leave with his life. His best hope was that neither he or Kai mentioned anything to the Alpha or anyone else for that matter. If word got out he had bedded Kai when she was betrothed to another.. well he didn't want to think about it at that moment.
Looking down at her once more he studied her soft features and felt the same odd urge to remain near her he had before. Even if others found out and he had to fight for his life... it would be worth it.

Armin rolled in his sleep to his side when Willow slipped from the bed. His hand moved to the spot where she had been laying, though as she brushed the hair from his eyes his body loosened once again as he fell back into a deep slumber.
The home was quiet that morning. It didn’t seem that anyone had come downstairs just yet. The empty wine glass that Rose had meant for Kai and the bottle of wine still sat upon the kitchen island. The glass that Rose poured for herself sat untouched except for the few sips that she’d taken out of it. It was as if the events of the night before were still lingering, and yet forgotten all at the same time.
**
Kai snuggled into Baron as his arm tugged under her. Her hand moved and rest upon his chest as a deep sigh came over her lips. It didn’t take long for Kai to open her eyes after being disturbed. She made a small groan as the sun shone into her crystal hues, her fingers moved about slightly on Baron’s chest as the events of the night before played through her mind. Though, it wasn’t a look of fear that washed over Kai’s expression. It was a smile. She lifted her eyes to meet his and she reached up and brushed a lock of hair from his face, a playful smile no her face now. “I’ve always wanted to see the sunrise from here. I just usually don’t make it up here in time.” She leaned up and kissed his cheek then. “I should go, before my brother wakes.” She searched his eyes. “Don’t look so worried.” She smirked to him. “If I can do anything about this arrangement that my brother has made. I will.” She assured him. “I’ve never…” She let out a laugh then. “I’ve never felt this…tug…urge….” She shook her head. “Whatever you want to call it.” She lay back a moment and snuggled against him.
Kai let out a content sigh, “I’m not letting you slip away, Baron.” She spoke after a moment before she slipped from his arms. “Don’t let me get lost in the dark either, hm?” She spoke before she kissed him. She leaned back and gave another playful smile. “I’ll see you at the hunt. You’re coming.” She then stood and transformed swiftly, she gave a playful growl before she sprinted off down the mountainside. Kai made her way through the forest easily. Soon enough she was at the mansion. She transformed back and slipped silently into the house. Kai crept up the stairs and into her room. She swiftly changed from her gown that had dirt on it from the night before and into her pajamas. Silky pants and a tank top. She pulled a fuzzy robe on and tied it around her waist before she placed her hair into a messy bun. Kai smirked slightly to herself in the mirror as she found herself thinking about the night before. She stretched before she made her way down the stairs and to the kitchen.
Kai froze slightly when she heard the sound of pots and pans in the kitchen. She’d thought that everyone would still be asleep. No one got up at this hour in this house. Her brows furrowed slightly. She stepped around the corner and the look of worry disappeared from her expression. “Willow darling.” She smiled as she stepped into the kitchen. She looked to the wine glass and the bottle of wine on the counter and raised a brow slightly. She then shook her head. Her stomach growled slightly and she held her hand over her abdomen. A chuckle came over Kai’s lips. “Good morning.” She spoke as she poured herself a cup of coffee. She hugged her fingertips around the mug. “Would you like any help?” She asked as she looked to the things that Willow had cooking.

As Willow discovered the forgotten wine glasses in the kitchen she gave a small sigh. Last night started off as fun and care free but quickly turned to that of stress and worry. It seemed that no one within the family was immune from the events of the previous night. Regardless she walked to the counter and collected the glasses to carry them over to the sink and began to rinse them out. When she collected the partially emptied wine bottle she noticed that it was Kai's favorite. Come to think of it she hadn't seen Kai other than last night when they had seen the strange wolf leaving the mansion. She could only hope that the woman was alright after her confrontation with Peter.
"Breakfast for everyone first, and then I'll check on Kai." Willow told herself as she tossed out the wine and began to go through the various cupboards gathering bowls, pans and ingredients. After the drinking and high emotions from the previous night she wanted to make everyone a hardy meal. Ground steak with a gravy sauce topped with an egg. There were also some fresh fruits that she sliced up and placed within a bowl for each person.
When the sound of someone entering the kitchen caught Willow's attention she looked up and smiled as she saw Kai walking through the doors. "Good morning. I'm almost finished actually so if you'd like to get everyone something to drink that would be very helpful." Willow told Kai. "How are you holding up after last night?" She asked in a slightly more timid voice.
****
Baron smiled as he watched Kai wake up and seemed completely confident that he wouldn't somehow end up in her brother's jaws. When she mentioned her attraction to Baron though he couldn't help but tilt his head slightly. Was there something between them two that caused them to be naturally drawn to each other? He could think of many different times he was told a woman was off limits and he was perfectly fine with honoring that rule. This time though.. even under the threat of death he had been willing to risk it. "I'll do my best to keep you out of the dark.. or walk in it with you." He promised and smiled as he returned the kiss and watched her transform them scamper back off in the direction of her home.
Remaining on the hill top for a while longer Baron tried to reason with himself that the game he was playing was a dangerous one indeed. The reward was just too great to pass up though. He had a goal, a purpose for being here, and he wouldn't forget that but who says he couldn't also benefit from the situation?
Finally getting up he made his way down to the lake below and cleaned himself up to a more presentable state. At least enough so that he could walk through town without drawing any attention to himself. He would have to bathe properly once he was able to return to his reserved room at the inn. He would eat and rest for the remainder of the day, preparing for the hunt.

Kai watched Willow with a smile upon her lips as she blew upon the steaming hot cup of coffee. “It smells delightful.” She commented and grinned as she stepped to the stove and drew in a breath to smell the delicious food. “Steak for breakfast? I can’t wait.” She giggled as she set her mug of coffee down. “The family is fairly easy.” She spoke as she pulled cups down. “Rose likes about two thirds of her cup to be coffee and the rest to be cream and sugar.” She smirked playfully as she poured coffee into a mug and began stirring in cream and sugar. “Rhett is simple. Boring.” She rolled her eyes and chuckled as she poured a full black cup of coffee. “Though you did brew a fine cup.” She winked. Kai poured the next glass. “Armin likes just enough cream, but not any sugar at all.” She smirked. “And well…I usually have something along the lines of a mimosa.” She lifted her mug which she poured cream and a bit of sugar into before she stirred. “But not today.”
Kai watched Willow for a long moment. She held her arm forward and inspected the bruising upon her wrists. Her smile didn’t fall from her lips though. Baron had washed away any worries she might have had. She wouldn’t allow her brother to marry her to Peter. Not after last night at least. “I’ll be alright love. I’ve survived this long, haven’t I?” She spoke as she began gathering things to set the table in the other room. Kai moved about silently as she set the table for the family. She then came back to the kitchen. “How about you? Anything I should know about your evening?” She smiled playfully to Willow then as she lifted her coffee and sipped from it once again. A smile played upon her lips as she leaned against the counter, Kai seemed to be thinking about something else as she stared off over the steam of her coffee mug. In fact, she was thinking about something else. She was wrapped up in her thoughts about the time that she spent with Baron, and the way she felt about him. She couldn't get him off her mind and it was alarming...yet...she was not afraid of it at all for some reason. She'd never felt that way before. She couldn't place the feeling in all her years of existence.

"I'll try to remember that for the future." Willow told her as Kai listed off the way everyone liked their coffee. "Kai, you should know that I, better than anyone, understand that surviving isn't the same as living. I survived for fifty years but that doesn't mean I was alright during that time." Thinking back to the way she had been treated with the Silverfangs and how she was treated here in comparison.. well there really wasn't a way to compare the two. She still felt as if she might wake up from a dream at any given moment.
"So, um.." When Kai asked if there was anything she needed to know about Willow's evening she wasn't really sure where to start. "We found out who left the mark on the pillar of the gate last night." She explained. "Armin and I need to talk to Rhett but we figured we could wait until morning." She paused in her story as she served some plates of food and tried to think of the best words to say next. "Some fae folk.. discovered that I'm living here. They claim to be my family and want me to come back with them, at least temporarily." She explained and smiled as she topped off Kai's mug with some more coffee. "Armin and I let them stay at the house in the forest last night and told them we'd be back today."

Kai chuckled lightly and shook her head. “No need to remember, I’ll be here to help you.” She glanced to Willow from where she leaned against the counter. Her brows furrowed slightly and a sigh came over her lips. “You’re not wrong.” She spoke and gave a weak smile. She once again looked to the bruising upon her wrists and she bit at her lower lip slightly. “But, don’t worry about me love. I’ll make it through.” She lifted her crystal hues to look to Willow then, her smile held a tinge of sadness in it. Unlike most of her playful smiles that she toted.
Her brow rose slightly when she mentioned the message on the pillar. Kai straightened slightly and stepped closer to Willow as she spoke, curiosity in her eyes. “Oh wow…I didn’t even think that there was much of your kind left…” She shook her head, “That’s great…isn’t it?” She smiled and looked to her mug that Willow topped off. “Oh the lake house? Yeah…” She raised her brows a bit more, she had originally thought of taking Baron to the lake house…she was thankful that she’d ran up the mountain on a whim instead.
“I imagine that will be quite the conversation to have.” Kai spoke as she helped to carry the plates of food to the dining room. “Do you trust them? These people?” Kai lifted her hues to look to Willow. “Sometimes…I am certain that you know. But sometimes people aren’t what they say they are.” She hugged her mug with her fingertips again and took a sip. “I’ve experienced that in the past enough to know to be careful. Hm? But Armin and I. We will keep you safe. So will Rose and Rhett.” She gave a smile then.

"I know, and I appreciate that you all are willing to protect me." Willow told her with a small smile of her own before looking down, brushing a bit of her hair behind her ear as it slipped forward into her face. "I want to believe them.. I really do, but.." she paused "I can't help but think.. it's all very convenient. The timing, the fact they came after me now instead of when I was with the Silverfangs." She shook her head a bit. "One of them claims to be my twin brother. They want me to come back with them. To see my ill mother." Biting her lip it was obvious it was a source of conflict.
"They said they didn't know I was alive until recently and that's why they didn't come rescue me, but.. I don't know how much to believe. I'm actually happy here and I'm worried they'll try to steal me away." Willow wiped her eyes with her fingers quickly to stop the tears from rolling down her cheeks. "But breakfast first, one step at a time right? I could be worrying over nothing."
****
After taking a hot bath and changing into clean clothes Baron found he was far to restless to simply rest within his reserved room. He didn't want to openly disobey Rhett's orders by waltzing into the manner and getting close to Kai, but she did say he was invited to the hunt. It would at least be worth going and making sure that the alpha didn't have any problem with his attendance. Not to mention it might give him the opportunity to slug Peter if he dared to show his smug face.
So he made his way down the road and up to the gates of the manner where he noticed the smell of blood was completely gone from the pillar just inside the gate. Even the marking he had taken notice of earlier was gone as well. Whoever took care of their grounds worked quickly and efficiently it seemed.
Brushing off the curious event he continued on to the door and knocked upon the hard wood and hoped he was received well by whoever answered.

Kai watched Willow carefully, a caring expression on her usual playful face. It was almost unusual for her. “Hm.” She hummed lightly after Willow had spoken. “It does seem quite convenient. How could they not know you were alive?” She took another sip of her coffee. “I won’t let them steal you away.” She winked and gave a playful smile. “You’re too much fun to have around Willow darling.” She stepped forward and set her coffee down. Kai then pulled Willow into a warm and caring embrace. “You deserve to be happy; you’ve had enough turmoil for five lifetimes.” She pulled back, her hands still upon Willow’s shoulders as she looked to her, the smile upon her lips turned into her usual smirk then. “Besides you make my brother happy, and that my dear is pure gold around here. He’s hard to make happy.” She winked to him. “But you…somehow do.” She released Willow then and gave a soft laugh. “I hope to find that one day. The way he looks at you.” She bit her lower lip slightly.
Kai’s mind once again drifted to her night with Baron. A smile curved up her lips and a hum sounded before she giggled. “I’m certain I will. I have plenty of time anyway.” She winked and then sighed softly as she lifted her mug and took a sip from it. Her crystal hues turned then as someone walked into the room. “Rose, darling, good morning.” She said with her usual cheerful voice. She looked to Willow a moment and smiled. “Coffee?”
Rose stepped into the room and lifted her mug, she looked to Kai with curious hues. “You’re awfully cheerful this morning, Kai…” Her expression was skeptical. Her eyes fell to the bruises upon Kai’s wrists and she frowned. “I…”
Kai brushed it off and smiled. “No reason not to be. It’s the morning of the hunt after all.” She smirked. There was a knock at the door then. “I’ve got it.” Kai spoke quickly and stepped from the room.
Rose looked to Willow, her lips pressed into a line as she processed Kai’s demeanor. “Is she alright? Did she say anything to you?” She asked in a hushed tone. “I…spoke more with Rhett about the arranged marriage…I believe he will come around…”
**
The door pulled open to reveal Kai, a smile curved up her lips. “Well good morning.” She gazed to Baron as she sipped from her steaming mug of coffee. “Apologies, I’m not quite dressed for the day.” She chuckled. “You’ve come for the hunt, hm?” She stepped back, “Come. We’ve just prepared breakfast. There is plenty for you, if you’re interested.” Kai grinned to him with a knowing gaze. She leaned against the open door slightly, she almost seemed drunk off of his presence.
Footsteps came from the staircase and down the stairs came Armin. He looked half asleep. He yawned. “Kai?” He asked as he heard his sister’s voice. He saw Baron then and tilted his head slightly. “Morning.” He spoke as he walked toward the kitchen.
Kai grinned back to Baron, “Come on.” She spoke as she led him toward the kitchen. “I’ll get you a mug of coffee.” She slipped her arm around his and led him into the house.
Armin was leaning against the counter in the kitchen near Willow, he had a smile upon his lips as he looked to her. Rose turned as the two came into the room. “Kai…” She spoke in a hushed tone. She looked to Baron and offered a smile. “Are you trying to get him killed?” She snapped as she looked back to Kai.
Kai giggled and leaned against Baron for a moment. “You’re no fun, Rose.” She huffed. “He came for the hunt.” She walked into the kitchen and pulled another mug down. “How do you like your coffee Baron?” She smiled once again.

Willow hugged Kai in return as she was pulled into an embrace and buried her face into the woman's shoulder. She took comfort in Kai's presence. When she pulled away she smiled and nodded her head. "I'm sure you'll find someone, and that someone will not be Peter." Willow assured her with a wry smile of her own.
As Rose entered the room Willow smiled at her as well. "Good morning Rose." She watched the interaction with her and Kai and when Kai went to answer the door she gave a soft shrug to Rose. "She seems to be in good spirits. Perhaps she has confidence that Rhett will correct things with Peter and all that." She offered and began carrying food into the dining area. Then as Armin entered the room she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and handed him a couple of plates to take out to the table after bidding him good morning.
*****
As the door opened Baron expected Rhett, Rose or someone else to answer the door, but instead he found himself looking down at Kai's smiling face. "Good morning..." he replied in a bit of an uncertain tone and with a crooked smile. Hearing someone coming down the stairs he looked up and saw Armin, giving a small wave to be friendly, but when he was out of earshot he looked back down to Kai. "At least one of your brothers doesn't seem to want to maul me." He whispered to her as she pulled him inside and slipped her arm around his.
Walking into the kitchen he smiled politely at everyone, bowing his head at Rose out of respect, and then turned back to Kai as she asked about coffee. "Um, black actually." He told her. "Never been one for sweets." He admitted and slipped his hands in his pockets as he stood in the kitchen.
When Willow saw that Baron had been added to the group she glanced at Kai with a curious expression but resolved to serve the man a plate as well. "Come on everyone. Let's eat before it gets cold." She told them and as they entered the dining area she told Baron where to sit, next to Kai, and then sat across from him in her own seat.
