Armin’s crystal hues gazed to Baron curiously. He looked to the smile upon his sister’s lips and the way she interacted with the man. He tilted his head slightly as he sipped from his coffee. He smirked when he saw the glance that Willow gave to Kai. Kai had only returned a cheeky grin to Willow. “Black coffee hm?” Kai mused as she handed him the mug. “I like just enough cream to make the coffee just a bit lighter.” She commented with a smile as they walked into the dining room. As they sat down at the table Rhett stepped into the room. He was fully dressed, it was apparent he had been up for a short period of time. Most likely in his office.
“Good morning, love.” Rose spoke and kissed his cheek. She handed him his mug of coffee and they came to the table together.
Rhett’s eyes fell upon Baron and he furrowed his brow as he looked to his sister whom smiled defiantly at him. “Good morning, Kai…Armin, Willow…” His eyes looked to Baron once again. “What was it…”
“Baron.” Kai spoke her eyes locked on her brother’s gaze.
“Right, yes, Baron.” He gave a bit of a smile. “Welcome to our home. Excited for the hunt I imagine?” He asked.
Kai grinned and then looked to Baron a moment before she looked across the table to Willow, she took a bite of her food. “This is good, really good.” She cut into the steak and grinned. Her eyes glanced to Baron every now and again.
Armin cleared his throat slightly, “Baron, you’re running in the hunt tonight?” He asked making conversation.
Rhett’s eyes were locked upon Baron now he took a drink of his coffee. “He will be.” He spoke, his voice flat. “We are giving him a trial at our pack. But he has to follow certain rules. Hm?” He glanced to Kai whom looked to him with a raised brow. He then returned to eating.
Armin gave an apologetic look to Baron before he glanced to Willow. He gave a sweet smile to her before he returned his attention to his food. He poked at it slightly. “Rhett we have to talk about something…” He finally spoke and his eyes looked to his brother whom was nearly finished with his breakfast at this point. He glanced to Baron. “Unfortunately I don’t feel comfortable discussing this with you in the room. You understand?” He asked.
Kai finished her meal and gave a smile. “I’ll show him around the house.” She spoke as she stood. “Come on, Baron.” She grabbed her plate and stepped from the room.
Rhett looked after his sister a moment, his brows furrowed and he sighed. “Go with her.” He nodded to Baron. He then looked to Armin in anticipation. “Well, what is so pressing brother?”
**
Kai smiled to Baron, “See? Nothing to worry about.” She spoke and slipped her arm around his. “Come on, I’ll show you the arboretum.” She led him down the hallway and into the indoor garden. She gave a content sigh as she gazed up to the beautiful blue skies. “My brother isn’t as scary as he might seem.” She turned and placed her hand upon Baron’s chest, another smile flashed across her face as she gazed up into his eyes.

When Baron sat next to Kai he found himself in a bitter-sweet moment. Yes, he wanted to be near to her, but also he didn't want to cause problems with Rhett or anyone else in the family. As they waited for everyone to find their way to their seats Baron glanced across the table to Willow and tilted his head slightly. He had met the woman the night before, briefly, but hadn't realized that she wasn't a wolf herself. Now, he could tell from her scent that she was different than the rest of them. Not many packs, that he knew of, kept those who weren't part of the pack close. Yet the way that Armin kept this one close it was obvious she was more than just someone to help around the house.
Though when Rhett finally made his way into the room Baron's attention diverted from Willow as he looked up to the alpha and bid him good morning. When he began to eat his breakfast he made no effort to suppress his surprise at just how good the flavor of the meat was. "Yes, well, I actually came to the house to ensure that I was still allowed to run in the hunt tonight." He explained then sipped on his coffee. "I haven't forgotten the rules you gave me either." He promised.
****
When Armin expressed the desire to speak with Rhett, without their new guest, Willow smiled at Baron and eyed Kai carefully. She trusted the woman but even she knew it was odd for Kai to accept someone like Baron so easily. It was a matter for another time though as once the pair had left Willow turned back to Rhett and Rose. "We found out who left the mark on the pillar outside last night." She stated then glanced to Armin. "It seems.. well.. fae aren't as rare as we thought."
She was still uncertain of what to make of everything, and therefore at a bit of a loss of what exactly to tell Rhett. "They.. want me to return with them to the village of the fae. I won't stay with them but, they said my mother is ill and I have other family and.." she started to speak more quickly, flustered as the weight of the information quickly overwhelmed her.
****
"Speak for yourself." Baron retorted to Kai's comment about Rhett and looked down at her with a smile of his own as she placed her hand upon his chest. "Your brother's mate.. the one who cooked.. she's not a wolf is she?" He asked in a curious tone.

Armin placed his hand over Willow’s and gave a gentle squeeze to it. His eyes had curiously followed after his sister as she’d led the newcomer from the room so eagerly. How strange it was for Kai to take to another wolf in such a way. Though as Willow began to speak he turned his attention to her as well as his brother and Rose. He watched them carefully with his crystal hues. When Willow’s words seemed to spiral out of control Armin bit his lip slightly. “The Fae, three of them are at our cabin on the lake. They wish to speak with you Rhett.”
Rhett had set his fork down, his forest eyes looked to the two, his brows were furrowed. “You allowed a group of potentially dangerous people that we do not know…to simply stay in our lake house? What do you believe the repercussions would have been if Kai had gone to the lake house and been hurt? She was quite upset last night. She was out rather late too.” He commented. He shook his head then as he stared to his brother. “Why exactly do they want to meet me? Hm?” His voice was curt.
Rose reached forward and placed her hand over Rhett’s hand. “Darling.” She spoke, her eyes caught his. She gave a soft smile. “Perhaps a little bit of understanding, hm? You’re under a lot of stress right now with the hunt…with Kai’s betrothed…with the council…” She gave a squeeze to his hand and a gentle smile once again. Her eyes then looked to Willow. “You seem quite frazzled by the situation.” She spoke and slipped her hand from Rhett’s. “I can only imagine what you are going through.” She bit her lip slightly. “My father left my pack when I was very young. He left my mother and my brother behind. Most in our pack called him a coward for leaving his family like he did.” She took a sip of her coffee. “But he returned to gather his family when he was strong enough to do so…I didn’t even know what my own father looked like.” She searched Willow’s hues. “Family is important…” She glanced to Rhett whom was watching his mate carefully. “We will go, as a pack, hm?” She nodded to Rhett.
Rhett drew in a breath, “Is that what you want?” He looked to Willow then. “You aren’t even certain if they are your family.” He spoke his voice a bit rough.
“Rhett.” Rose snapped at him, her eyes turned golden. It was evident that Rose would protect Willow over agreeing with her mate. Perhaps because Willow had saved her life.
Rhett lowered his eyes slightly, the power that Rose had over him was almost unreal. “When you are ready. We will go.” He spoke before he stood. “I’ll go prepare for the day then.” He turned and left the room without another word.
Rose drew in a breath and nodded slowly. “Don’t take his attitude personally, dear.” She looked to Willow and gave a slight smile as she stood and began gathering the plates. “He and I were up rather late arguing about Kai’s situation…I am hopeful that he pulls back his agreement with Peter’s father.” She spoke before she stepped into the kitchen and began watching the dishes.
Armin drew in a breath and let it out slowly. “Thanks to you Rose is actually on our side.” He smirked slightly and then leaned in and kissed the side of Willow’s head. “It will be okay. Hm?” He grasped a few more dishes. “Come on.” He gave a warm smile to her.
**
Kai chuckled as she gazed up to Baron, she was practically leaning against him in that moment. “You’ll get to know him, Baron. It’ll be just fine.” She kissed his cheek then before she smiled playfully to him again. Though with Baron’s next question her smile slowly faded from her expression. Her fingertips that had been caressing his chest suddenly stopped. She tilted her head slightly. “No, she isn’t.” She spoke as she searched his eyes. Her own hues had shown a bit of her wolf, a protective response to Willow. “But she is a part of our pack…just as much as a wolf might be.” She furrowed her brows slightly as she watched him. “I know…it’s strange…I imagine.” She bit her lip slightly and let out a laugh. “But, you know…Baron…” She looked up to him, the playful smile played over her lips again. “My entire pack would call my actions strange…” She searched his hues. “I’ve broken every rule there is in the book that I have carefully followed my entire existence. Yet here you are.” She pat his chest before she turned and walked to one of the beautiful orchid flowers that was currently bloomed.

Rhett's response to everything was rather off putting. When he accused them of having a lack of forethought for inviting the fae to stay at the cabin for the night Willow wanted to argue back. If he hadn't agreed to sell of his sister to the highest bidder then he wouldn't have that problem to deal with in the first place. However Willow lacked the bravery to fight against the alpha and simply kept her eyes down on her plate as he scolded them for their choice. When Rose spoke up on their behalf though Willow glanced up to the woman then over to Armin.
Seeing Rose defend them against Rhett was the sort of thing Willow knew was incredibly rare. Especially with Rose and Kai's history of squabbling back and forth. After moment, and when Rhett directed another question at Willow, she furrowed her brow a bit and clinched her jaw. "I'm not sure they're my family but there's enough uncertainty that it's worth looking into. This could be my only chance to actually meet any blood relatives I have." She replied in a short tone.
When Rhett and Rose left the room she gave a long sigh and leaned into Armin a bit as he kissed the side of her head. "Do you think Rhett will actually hear them out if we go and talk to them? He's so worked up over the thing with Kai I don't know if he'll be willing to actually hear them out." She told Armin as she gathered the remaining plates and followed him into the kitchen. "Then there's Kai's guest. What if he finds out fae are making a reappearance to the world?"
******
Baron could immediately see the change in Kai's demeanor as he asked about the strange woman sitting next to her younger brother. It made him lift an eyebrow with curiosity but he decided not to press the issue when she retorted with a defensive manner. "I think your whole pack is strange." He replied with a chuckle and ran his fingers through his hair to brush it back out of his eyes. "That's not a bad thing though. I left my pack for the way they ran things. Wouldn't make sense to run to another pack that follows the same principles." He shrugged as he smiled at her as he watched her walk over to a set of orchids.
He glanced around the room, at the variety of plants and tools laying about the serene space, and then finally back towards the door. "You know Kai.." he started to say as he walked up behind her and slipped his arms gently around her waist. "If you keep breaking all your rules.. well that's usually how people end up getting in trouble." He told her and chuckled once more before leaning down and gently placing a kiss upon her shoulder.

Armin drew in a breath and looked to Willow as she gathered the items to clean up from the morning breakfast. He carried in the last of the dishes and set them on the counter before he began washing the plates. He drew in a long breath before he looked to Willow with a soft expression. “He will. I’ve never seen Rose stick her neck out like that for someone...she protected you against Rhett...which was quite interesting to watch.” He gave a slight chuckle. “And for it to be something that involved Kai makes it that much more interesting.” He set the clean dishes in the drying rack.
After they finished cleaning Armin wrapped his arms around Willow and pulled her into a gentle hug. “I’ll keep you safe Willow...Kai’s...guest...he won’t know anything about you.” He tilted her chin up to meet his eyes as he gave a soft smile. “I won’t let him hurt you, hm? He ran from his pack...he will just have to accept that our pack is different and if his ideas so not align Rhett won’t allow him.”
**
Kai glanced over her shoulder to Baron when he mentioned that he thought her pack was strange. She merely let out a chuckle before she turned to tend to her orchids. She smirked and looked down to his arms that wrapped around her waist. “Trouble?” She questioned as he hands rest over his. A chuckle came over her lips. “Well then.” She spun in his arms and cupped his cheek. “I do suppose that I’ll be getting into trouble then won’t I?” She smirked to him. “Or perhaps it is you who will end up in trouble. One can never tell.” She grinned to him, that same playful smile. She leaned up and kissed him then for a moment before she leaned against the table slightly. “Are you certain you’re up for such a challenge?” She grinned.

Willow smiled as Armin pulled her into a hug and leaned her head against his chest as she listened to the sound of his voice reverberate through him. "Actually... I'm not really worried about him if I'm being honest. I can't explain it but I have a feeling that he doesn't mean anyone harm. Maybe it's cause of everything else going on but he seems.. calming." She told Armin and gave a soft shrug. "Besides, he earned Kai's trust didn't he? I trust her with my life so if she's comfortable with him then I have no reason not to be."
She leaned up and gave Armin a soft kiss upon his lips and then released her hold on him. "I'm going to go clean up and get ready for the day as well. Might as well look presentable when we go meet these other fae with Rhett and Rose." She told him.
****
"I'm always in trouble anyway." He retorted. "And life's no fun without a few challenges." He smiled as he looked down into Kai's eyes. Those crystal blue hues drawing him in so easily, and making him feel weak in the knees. Reaching up he brushed a bit of her hair out of her face and gently tucked it behind her ear. "I promised Rhett I'd stay away from you but.. well.. if he doesn't retract this supposed marriage between you and whatever his name is.. I'll fight for you. If you'll have me that is." He offered in a sincere tone.

Armin hugged her gently and smiled down to her. “Hm, I’m weary of anyone, even if Kai takes them in.” He chuckled lightly. “She uh...she’s had an interesting past with relationships...she’s usually quite picky...and plays hard to get...I’ve never seen her let her guard down to swiftly.” Armin commented and then shrugged slightly. Though when Willow kissed him his cheeks burned aflame and a grin curved up his lips. “Hm, yes I do suppose that is a good idea.” He chuckled lightly. “I’ll show you to your room, my lady.” He took her hand in his and kissed the back of it before he bowed deeply and chuckled.
Armin then grasped her hand and led her from the kitchen. “If these Fae are truly your family...I am happy that you’ve finally gotten the chance to connect.” He gazed to her as he led her up the stairs. “I couldn’t imagine if I were taken from my family at such a young age...to think that they were all dead.” He shook his head then as he paused before her door. “I’ll meet you soon, hm?” He kissed her forehead before he slipped away to his room to get dressed for the day.
**
“You...always in trouble? I couldn’t imagine that Baron.” Kai grinned to him. She slipped her arms around his neck and smirked up to him. “You promised my brother you’d stay away from me? Yet here you are...you certainly don’t seem to be upholding your promise darling.” She then tilted her head slightly as he spoke. Her crystal hues searched his a long moment. “You would?” She asked, her voice sounded shocked. She drew in a long breath, her jaw loosened slightly. “Baron...I don’t want to ask you to do that...I was drunk when I brought that up...” She bit her lip slightly. “Unless...you...do you really want to do that?” She asked, her brows furrowed slightly. She seemed to be having a hard time wrapping her head around the idea that someone would do such a thing for her. She’d never really had anyone outside of her family treat her with such care.

"Yes well.. I don't think your family would have let you be taken. It seems you're all quite close." She reminded him and smiled as he kissed her forehead before allowing her to go and get dressed. First order of business was a bath however and so she quickly went to ready the water and removed her clothes. As the tub filled slowly behind her Willow examined herself in the mirror a bit.
She had a few scars, from punishments she'd received over the years, and every bruise she had before coming to Armin's pack was completely healed. She looked healthier overall. Even the dark circles under her eyes had completely faded thanks to the full nights of rest she had gotten. "I don't look so much like stray now." She muttered to herself and then went to bathe.
*****
Baron tightened his grip around Kai in a protective manner as she seemed surprised by his offer to fight for her. "I'm already facing the possible wrath of an alpha just to hold you like this. Challenging some mutt who thinks he entitled to your hand is not near as frightening." He told her with a smile. "If you had asked me a couple of days ago if I would be willing to fight for someone who I had just met I would have laughed. Yet.. here I am. Unable to bear the thought of letting you go with someone else who would never be able to treat you the way you should be treated. Again, only if you'll have me though. This is your choice, Kai."

Armin made his way into his room. He brushed his fingers through his hair and gazed into the mirror for a long moment. He poured himself a glass of whiskey and sipped from it as he walked into his own bathroom. He couldn’t stop thinking about this guest that Kai had taken so quickly to. His mind raced between that and the possibilities of what could happen at the lake house with Rhett. Soon enough he’d showered and changed into a pair of black slacks and a button down top that was a navy blue and only seemed to accent his eyes even more.
**
There was a knock on Willow’s door. “It’s Rose.” The voice spoke before she pushed the door open. She gazed about the room and moved toward the bathroom where she stood outside the door. She leaned her back against the dresser and let out a long sigh. “Rhett will listen to your people. I do not want you to worry about this. He’s the Alpha and his bark is much worse than his bite. But he will not compromise any possibilities of a relationship that you could grow with your family. If that is what you want, Willow.” Rose spoke as she crossed her arms over her beautiful dress that she’d changed into. It had flowing red silk with black lacing. “I still haven’t gotten him to budge with Kai...” She frowned slightly. “I’m not entirely sure how to get him to listen to me on this matter...but he will destroy his relationship with Kai if he doesn’t do something to change this...” She shook her head slightly.
**
Kai gazed up into his eyes and a soft smile curved up her lips as he reinforced to her that he wanted to fight for her. That he’d do this for her and that he wanted to. “He is quite an entitled mutt.” She giggled lightly as she traced along his jaw. Kai cupped his cheek in her hand. “I too would call you crazy if you told me that I’d be awestruck by a stranger. That I’d give anything to trust him and have him trust me.” She smirked to Baron slightly as her thumb caressed his cheek. “I would give anything for you to fight for me Baron...the time that we have spent together has been more meaningful than much of my life...I’ve heard so many stories...of the bond...of those that are fated to meet and fated to be with one another. I used to laugh in the face of anyone who spoke of such things.” She gave a gentle laugh. “But...I cannot deny it...that is the only explanation.” She leaned up and pressed her lips to his then. Her fingertips curled into his hair slightly for a moment before she released him to gazed into his eyes once again. “Rhett will do what is right though...he’s my brother...he wouldn’t sell me off...” She reassured herself.

Willow heard someone enter the room and it didn't take her long to figure out it was Rose entering and she relaxed as she continued to brush through her hair. "I just want the chance to have a relationship with my mother and brother, if it's possible. I'm not worried about the rest of the fae." She explained. "I don't owe them anything." She walked out of the bathroom with just a towel wrapped around her body and went to collect a dress from the closet that Kai had loaned her. This one was more modest and practical than the others she had worn recently but Willow liked the soft brown and white with green accents. It was very earthy and she could appreciate that.
"Would you mind?" She asked Rose and motioned towards a tie along her back to keep the dress together. "What is Rhett worried about with refusing the marriage offer? Surely someone will understand his sister isn't a bargaining chip." She thought back to the greedy way Peter had looked at Kai the night before. "Peter reminds me of the Silverfangs. The way he looked at Kai.." she shivered at the thought.
*****
As Kia kissed his lips Baron's wolf clawed at the surface, begging for him to give in to his instincts. He fought it back though and simply gave a soft growl of approval as Kai pulled away from him once more. "I hope you're right." He whispered to her. "If this is The Bond.. well I wouldn't want to be in that mutt's shoes if the arrangement is upheld." He gave another low growl at the thought of Peter having his hands around Adelaide. He would enjoy breaking each of the man's fingers if he so much as touched a single hair upon her head.

Rose glanced to Willow as she stepped from the bathroom. She gave a soft smile. “I would want you to have that relationship as well.” She nodded slightly. “But you’re right, you don’t owe anyone anything. That is the beauty of life.” She stepped forward. “Of course.” She carefully adjusted the dress on Willow and worked with the lacing that ran up the back of the dress. She drew in a long breath as Willow questioned about Rhett’s worries.
“Ah, well...there is a lot of politics...” She spoke and gave a slight nod. “Our pack follows the Alpha, but years ago a council was enacted in order to prevent Alpha’s such as those within the other packs, like the Silverfang pack...for example...it is to ensure that no matter what our pack moves forward in the right direction. Rhett is worried that if he does not oblige Peter’s father that a civil war will break out within our pack. There will be those whom believe that Rhett is correct for listening to what Kai wants...and then there will be those that have a more traditional take...there are so many marriages that have been arranged over the years that our pack has been around...there are plenty that will side with the council. Which could cause quite an uproar. Rhett is simply playing a….game of chess, you could think of it that way...” Rose finished the tie and looked over the dress. “This looks quite beautiful on you, Willow. It brings out the color of your eyes, the fairness of your skin.” She complimented.
“Peter...is quite an interesting character. I would have to agree with you. From what it sounds like he would fit right in with the Silverfang pack...” She sighed softly. “I do hope that we can find a way out of this that will keep our pack from falling into a civil war.”
**
Kai’s crystal hues melted to the golden color as the growl came over Baron’s lips. Her own wolf was clawing at the surface. She’d never felt so out of control in all the years that she’d lived. She grinned to him as she wrapped her arms back around his neck. Her eyes slowly melted back into the beautiful crystal color as a chuckle came over her lips. “I’ve no doubt that, that is exactly what this is.” She spoke confidently. “Now...we have a choice to make...should we stay here awhile or should we return and see if they are done with their conversation?” She smirked to him and kissed along his jaw a moment. “They should have finished by now I imagine.” She leaned back and gazed up into his eyes then. “Or perhaps not.” She shrugged, the playful look returning in her eyes once again.

Willow listened to Rose speak about the complications of Rhett trying to appease both sides of the argument. She couldn't really see why Kai would have to marry Peter to strengthen the pack. If they were loyal they would continue to do things for the pack without the expectation of marrying into the alpha's family. There had to be more to it.. or so she thought. "When I was with the Silverfangs there was always in-fighting. Whether it be over mates, hunting rights or any other petty argument they could muster up. The alpha always let them fight as long as they didn't include others into their squabbles. Said it made them stronger." She paused as she tried to think of exactly where she was going with this story. "I don't necessarily agree with that sentiment but.. I also don't think everyone needs to constantly be appeased. If Rhett lets the council push him into giving away his sister what else are they willing to make him surrender?"
There was a sinking feeling that Willow had she couldn't explain. That if Kai was forced to marry Peter she wouldn't be only one put in jeopardy. She had no reason in particular to feel this way but she just knew that the marriage couldn't come to pass. "What if they find my magic and don't want Rhett's family having that power? They could try and push to take me away too, and since he would have given up his sister there's no reason for him to defend me."
As Willow spoke there was a soft sound of thunder from the distance. Her eyes melting from their bright green so a deep blue color as the anxiety and weight of the situation around her started to finally bring her down.
******
Baron could feel his wolf practically snarling as it tried to claw its way past his control. If it had not been for the fact he was used to keeping his emotion in check he might have accidentally slipped as he felt the intoxicating sensation of Kai's lips dance along his jaw. It simply wasn't fair the way she held a hold over him, but he would never complain about it either.
Leaning down he pressed his lips against her in a slow but passionate kiss. Continued to hold her against him for a moment longer before pulling away once more and breaking the kiss. "Let's go back. Besides I still need to try and get on your brother's good side. I don't want him hating me if I'm going to be challenging Peter for you." He reasoned.

Rose pressed her lips together as she moved and leaned against the dresser once more. She crossed her arms over her chest as she seemed to fall deep into thought. “Oh, I know exactly how the Silverfang pack functions.” She spoke, a soft almost sad smile upon her lips. “They are animals, and the way that they treat those within the pack is absolutely terrible…I’m lucky that my father returned for me.” She gazed to Willow a long moment. Very few knew that she was once part of the Silverfang pack before her father rescued her years after he’d run. “If I would have known that he held you as a prisoner as well, I certainly would have tried to free you, Willow.”
She drew in a breath, “We shouldn’t have a problem, you’re right. But unfortunately I believe we will have a problem with the Council…” She frowned as she looked to Willow as the fae spoke of her fears. Her jaw loosened slightly as she saw the woman’s eyes shift in color. She gazed to the window and the sound of thunder. “Willow, I won’t let him do that to you.” She stepped forward and placed a hand upon her shoulder. “Believe me, I know how to fight…the council isn’t getting their hands on you. Hm?” She gazed to the window as rain began to pelt it from the winds that pushed the rain into the window pane. “You saved my life. The least I can do for you is ensure that you don’t have to suffer the life that was forced upon you before Armin found you.” She nodded and then turned and stepped to the window. Her eyes gazed to the rain as it fell from the skies. “We should meet Rhett, he should be in the foyer.” She drew in a breath and looked to Willow. “Our family will protect you Willow.” She gave a gentle smile before she slipped from the room.
**
Kai grinned to Baron as she watched him, she could tell he was fighting with his wolf just as much as she was. When he kissed her she leaned into him and ran her fingers through the back of his hair. When he pulled away she held a smirk upon her lips. “Hm, I do suppose that would be a good plan. Wouldn’t it?” She stepped to him and placed her hand upon his chest. “You’ll beat Peter. I don’t doubt it at all.” She cupped his cheek a moment before she turned and led him from the room. “So that is the arboretum.” She spoke as she looked over her shoulder to him with another playful smile. “I’ve been working on it for years. Those orchids have been quite difficult.” She chuckled lightly. As they walked into the Foyer Rhett was buttoning the cufflink on his button down shirt. He lifted his eyes to look to his sister and then his eyes trailed to Baron, his brows furrowed slightly. “Ah dear brother.” She stepped to him and smiled to him. “Done with your private conversations?” She grinned.
Rhett’s jaw tensed slightly. “For now.” He spoke and then smiled to his sister. “Baron.” He looked to the wolf his eyes narrowed slightly. “I have a few errands to run, in preparation to the hunt tonight…why don’t you have a look around our city? Enjoy the sights. Come back by this afternoon and I’ll speak with you more then.”
“Ah, should I give him a tour of the city?” Kai questioned with a grin. She could tell by the tense nature of her brother that he was already irritated with Baron…or perhaps something else.
Rhett looked to his sister and a soft laugh came over his lips. “Dear sister, I’d like you to come on one of my errands. Hm? I’m sure he can more than handle himself. He’s not a pup.” He looked back to Baron. “You’re capable aren’t you? Perhaps you could bring back wine for after the hunt.” His eyes were glued on Baron.
“Rhett darling don’t scare the boy off.” Rose spoke from the top of the stairs. “He looks like he would be a strong hunter, defender even.” She came down the staircase and wrapped her arm around Rhett’s and kissed his cheek.
Kai looked to Rose a long moment and then she looked to her brother and then finally her crystal hues settled upon Baron, she let out a soft sigh. She didn’t want to run errands with her brother whom wanted to sell her off to Peter. She crossed her arms over her chest. “Well, I do suppose I’ll see you tonight.” She spoke before she looked back to her brother with a pointed glare before she turned and walked up the stairs toward her room.

Willow wanted to believe Rose. Well, she believed that Rose would fight for her but she didn't know if they could win. The stress of everything was getting to Willow. All she wanted to do was go climb back into Armin's bed and hide under the covers. Perhaps she could make herself small enough and simply hide from the worries and cares that plagued her.
"I was probably just a child when you were there. I was hidden from everyone with the exception of a handful of people. Ignatius wasn't willing to let word get out he was harboring a "human" girl within the pack." She told Rose. "At least in the end we both ended up here rather than stuck with the Silverfangs." She reasoned and gave Rose a small smile.
When Rose slipped from the room Willow turned her attention back to the mirror and tied her hair back to keep it out of her face. "I've got to help fight with the pack." She told herself out loud. "It's not right to continue to let them fight for me." She reasoned.

Baron chuckled as Kai picked up where she left off on the "tour" of the house she was supposed to be giving him. "Well, your orchids seem to be doing just fine now." He commented as they walked together through the hall. when they came across Rhett as he adjusted his cufflink Baron straightened his posture and held his head high. Though as he suggested that Baron return to the city for now and come back later he lifted an eyebrow with curiosity. "I am sure I can manage." He agreed and nodded at the mention of obtaining wine for the evening after the hunt. "Of course. I would be happy to." Was his response.
He could sense Kai's frustration but there was little he could do about it. He would be back later and he was participating in the hunt as well. Though he usually enjoyed the hunts he would be focused on keeping Peter away from Kai than anything else. "Yes, I will see you later." He bid farewell to Kai and then looked back to Rhett. "Thank you for allowing me to spend time with your family. I shall return later." He told the alpha with a polite smile and excused himself to head back towards the front door.

Moments after Rose had stepped from the room the door pushed open and Kai stepped into the room. “Willow love.” She spoke and forced a smile upon her lips. Her eyes were glassy, tears brimmed as she fought back the familiar sting. “You look gorgeous in that color.” She walked up to her and helped her with her hair like a sister might. She forced another smile as she looked to her in the mirror from where she stood. A single tear rolled over her cheek and she quickly turned and wiped it away. “Are you headed somewhere with Rhett and Rose?” She questioned as she moved to look out the window. She crossed her arms over her chest as she drew in a long breath to calm herself. “It’s a bit stormy out to be going anywhere…maybe we will have to cancel the hunt if this storm doesn’t let up.” She brushed another tear away.

Rhett gazed up the stairs and waited for Kai to be well down the hallway. He held his hand up to Baron and drew in a breath. “Wait.” He spoke. “Come speak with me.” He let out a breath. He gazed to Rose whom looked to him with curious eyes. “We won’t be long.” He nodded to her and kissed the top of her head. He then turned and led Baron down the hallway and into the library where he paused a long moment. He looked to the rain that fell outside and he clicked his tongue. “I’m not certain. But I know the look in my sister’s eyes when she looks to you.” He finally spoke and turned and looked to Baron. “You’re no good to be around her. She’s already fighting me about her marriage. You’re just going to cause her more confusion.”
Rhett let out a breath then and pinched the bridge of his nose as he seemed to think. “Tell me, Baron. Where were you last night? My sister was out rather late. In fact, she didn’t returned until this morning…to be quite honest…and you showed up not terribly long after her. Coincidence?” His head tilted to the side slightly his eyes fixed on the man before him.
