Admin was fast asleep, his expression was relaxed as he slept. He too slept a dreamless sleep. His fiery locks were sticking every which way. There was a small mumble from him as Willow placed a kiss upon his cheek. Armin rolled to his side and a long breath came from the lycan as he continued to sleep.
**
The house was silent, with the exception of a soft sound that came from downstairs. Kai awake and in the kitchen. Pots clanged together as the lycan pulled out what she wanted from the cabinets. She hummed to herself, this was the sound that Willow would have been able to hear from upstairs. She had been up since the sun crested over the horizon. Kai was always early to rise, unlike her brothers. Kai had already ventured to town and gathered vegetables and fresh bacon as well as eggs for the morning.
She blew a bit of hair from her face as she stared to the items. She had never been a good chef. Armin had tried to teach her but failed terribly. So, Armin was the one that was relied upon to cook. Or Rhett if Armin was sleeping in. Most mornings Kai would make a simple oatmeal and fruit. But after the evenings events she felt that everyone within the home needed a little something extra. Today she wore a lovely dress that she had bought recently from one of the town merchants. It had a corset upper piece that was made of a leather that had a bit of a red tint to it. The skirt portion of the dress ruffled as it fell toward the floor, it was hiked a bit higher in the front. Something that would be considered inappropriate for formal-wear. But Kai pulled it off nicely. She brushed her hair from her face before she began chopping up the mushrooms, onions and bell peppers. She continued to hum as she did this. “Ouch.” She winced as she nicked the tip of her finger with the blade. Kai grabbed a towel and pressed it against the cut as she muttered something to herself and a sigh came over her lips.

Willow followed the sounds of pots and pans coming from the kitchen and made her way down to see who was awake. She entered the kitchen just as Kai nicked her finger and gave a soft chuckle. "Good morning." She greeted Kai and walked over to see what Kai had been cutting. "Would you like some help?" She asked and immediately twisted her hair back up to hold it out of her face. "Thank you for the dress by the way." She told her and moved behind the counter to see the items Kai had gotten out for breakfast.
Picking up the knife and rinsed the blade in the sink before continuing to cut the mushrooms into thin slices. She wasnt really going to let Kai refuse her help with the meal. "Have you checked on Rose this morning? I couldn't really see her very well last night to know just how much of her wounds were left." She glanced to Kai's bleeding finger and reached over to touch her hand which immediately healed the small wound without much effort on Willow's behalf. "No more injuries for a while, hm?" She asked with a teasing smirk. "I'll be tired all the time and won't be able to help cook."

Kai lifted her eyes as she heard footsteps approaching. She almost expected Armin, but to her surprise she saw Willow. A grin curved up her lips. “Good morning, darling.” She spoke and then let out a chuckle. “Oh…I may need help actually; I can’t even manage to chop the vegetables.” Her cheeks flushed slightly from embarrassment. One would think after so many years upon the planet that she would have overcome her difficulties in cooking, but that thought would be wrong. Kai then smirked as she looked to the dress that Willow wore. “Of course, it looks perfectly splendid on you.” She watched as Willow took over the kitchen duties.
“I haven’t…I wanted to let her and Rhett rest…” She shook her head slightly. “I imagine Rhett would have come to get you if Rose was not doing well. Hm?” She gave a small smile. “You really saved her life…that mutt…” Her eyes turned honey colored and she shook her head. “He is all muscle it seems…Rose has always been a bit delicate…even more so than myself.” She gave a small laugh. In that moment Willow had reached out to her finger which she still held in a towel. Her jaw loosened in astonishment as she felt the pain of the cut disappear. She removed the towel and turned her hand over inspecting her finger. “I’ll do my best. But if you let me near the kitchen no guarantees.” She winked as she pulled a percolator from a cabinet and began measuring out grounds for coffee. “This, I can do. No problem.” She laughed lightly as she filled it with water and placed it upon the wood burning stove.
“You looked exhausted after all of that last night…” Kai spoke as she looked to Willow with concerned eyes. “Luckily that doesn’t happen often.” A smile curved up her lips again as she placed a skillet on the woodburning stove and she began to fry up the bacon slices. “I’ll take your pointers.” She spoke with a chuckle as she turned and looked to Willow once again. “How on earth did you get up without waking Armin? He’s usually such a light sleeper.” She noted with a bit of a chuckle. “He must be exhausted.”
There was a soft sound of footsteps that came into the kitchen. Rose stepped into the room, she wore a silky robe, her hair was tied up into a messy bun upon the crown of her head. She looked tired, but most of her wounds were healed. A bit remained, but it was evident that her body was working on healing the injuries. Rhett was right behind her, he pulled out the chair at the kitchen island and gave a smile. “Good morning.” He spoke as he helped her onto the bar stool style chair. He looked tired, as if he had not slept at all the rest of the night. Which, in fact he had stayed up watching over Rose to ensure that she was well and recovering.
Rose gazed to Willow with soft eyes as she watched the woman chop up the vegetables. “Thank you.” Her voice was small, unlike the arrogant way that she’d held herself the day before. Kai looked to Rose with a bit of raised brows, she’d never heard her thank anyone for anything. With the exception of Rhett. But that was to be expected. “Rhett told me what you did.” She leaned against the island, it was evident that her body was still tired and recovering, but she would be back to her strength in no time.
Kai grabbed the percolator as it began to whistle. “Just in time for fresh coffee.” She spoke as she poured mugs for everyone. She set one before Rose and watched as the lycan simply hugged her fingers around the mug and drew in a long breath of the scent of the fresh coffee. Kai gave a smile to her brother as she handed him a mug and she placed a mug near Willow and poured herself one before she fixed up another pot and placed it back on the stove. She took a sip. “Ahhh fresh from the roaster this morning.” She smiled happily before she looked to Rose again with curious eyes before her eyes fell back upon Willow.

"Everyone has their forte, Kai. Cooking just isn't yours." Willow offered as she chopped the vegetables then moved to counting out the eggs to see how many they would need to cook for everyone. "Remus is.. well he's always been a bit of a brute. Even within the Silverfangs. He's always followed Ignatius's word to the letter and everyone else teased him about it, but Ignatius always praised him for this blind faith." She shrugged. "I guess this time he just got in over his head." She poured a little oil into one of the pans and tossed the chopped veggies into it. "I saw his face. Ignatius must have punished him when he returned home without me. Let alone telling Ignatius that I was taken by another pack. He would have just about lost his mind."
When Kai asked about Armin she giggled and gave a slight shrug. "He didn't even budge this morning. I actually wasn't expecting to wake up in his bed.. it was a pleasant surprise I guess." She wasn't willing to admit just how she felt about the gesture but the warmth in her cheeks quickly gave her away.
As she heard more footsteps enter the room she looked up to see Rose standing on her own two feet and gave a smile of relief. "Good morning." She told the pair as she continued to work on their breakfast. When she heard Rose thank her she turned away from the pans for a moment and nodded her head. "You're welcome, but you welcomed me into the house. It's the least I could do."
She had just started to crack the eggs into the pan as Kai served each of them coffee. Once she had finished and was stirring the eggs in with the sautéed vegetables she picked up her own mug and carefully sipped it. The strong bitter taste was welcoming as she felt the warmth spread through out her chest from the hot drink. "Thank you, Kai." She stirred the eggs a bit more and flipped the bacon that was already sizzling on the other pan upon the stove. "Well, breakfast is almost ready."

Rose closed her eyes as she sat at the counter, she gave a soft hum to Willow’s comment. “It wasn’t me who brought you into the home, that was Armin.” She gazed to Willow with her hazel hues. “Perhaps I should be thanking him as well as Kai.” She lifted a brow slightly. “Those two have been in charge of you for the past day.” She took a sip of her coffee then.
Kai shook her head and chuckled. “Armin may be the better one to thank, Rose. But I’ll take it.” She winked and then scooted around the island. “I’ll go get Armin.” She announced as Willow stated that the food was nearly finished.
Rhett stepped into the kitchen and looked over the sauteed veggies as he sipped from his coffee. He grabbed the percolator and carried it into the dining room. He then returned for plates and took the stack into the dining room as well. “Did Ignatius use you for your magic?” Rose questioned, her expression was curious. She wasn’t nearly as aggressive as she had been before. “He didn’t force you to use your magic did he? That would be dreadful…” She gave a soft sigh. “Though it wouldn’t be the first time. From what my father spoke he had a fae before…” She watched Willow for her reaction. “I would have to ask my father more, I’ve never really asked him a lot of questions of the Silverfang pack. It was nearly 40 years ago that we left. I was just a pup.” She gave a gentle smile. Rose was much younger than the other lycans. Perhaps that was why she had to put on such a demanding demeanor.
“I found the sleeping prince.” Kai announced as she walked into the room with Armin in tow. She giggled and grabbed a few pot holders from the drawer. “Just bring the pans in and we will put them on the table. Like a buffet. Hm?” She smiled as she walked to the other room. “If you need help let me know.” She called and the sound of a bottle uncorking could be heard from the other room. Mimosas with a large breakfast like this was a tradition for the family. Kai poked her head around the corner. “I know what you’re thinking. I won’t drink more than my share this time.” She grinned as a giggle came over her lips. “Unless you don’t drink your mimosa.” She winked before she slipped back into the other room.
Armin yawned and grabbed a mug of coffee that Kai had poured for him. “Good morning.” He spoke as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes. “That smells…really nice…” He brushed his fingers through his hair. It was evident that Kai had pulled him out of bed. He was still in his evening wear. He wandered into the dining room then.
Rose gave a soft laugh as she stood. “Shall I grab something?” She asked and then winced as she slipped from the stool. Her body was still incredibly sore. She hugged the mug of coffee to her chest with her hands and drew in a long breath.

As Rose and Kai conversed without the underlying tension between them. After the previous night's events she wasn't sure she could really handle hostility between any of them. Remus had served up plenty of that to last Willow a good while. When Rose asked about Ignatius using her magic she gave a small shrug. "He would have me do things occasionally. The healing thing.. that's new. I actually didn't know I could do that." She told Rose. They still hadn't told Rhett and Rose what she did know how to do without the help of the book, but that conversation would surely come up. They would have to experiment and delve deeper to see all what Willow was capable of.
As Rose mentioned her father and his knowledge of Ignatius Willow found herself actually considering taking up Rose's previous offer. Though she wasn't too keen on having any relation with someone who dealt with Ignatius but then again he had left the Silverfang back and Rose had been accepted as the Alpha's mate for the Blackridge pack. He couldn't be all that bad, right? Though she probably would see if Kai or Armin would also go with her. Just so she had someone she trusted a bit more as well.
When Armin finally made his appearance in the kitchen she found herself smiling at him once more. Despite his wild hair and groggy expression Willow couldn't help but think just how handsome he was. "Good morning." She told him as he greeted them.
Willow shook her head when Rose offered to grab something as well. "No I think most of it has already been taken to the dining room." She explained though as Rose winced Willow moved around the counter to stand next to her. "Are you alright?" She didn't want Rose collapsing on the floor. Her healing may have mended her bones but she wasn't completely restored yet. "Here, if you need something to steady yourself." Willow offered her hand to the woman and helped walk her towards the dining room then to her seat. Only once she was sure Rose wouldn't simply crumple to the ground did she finally relent and walk around to her own seat as she let her hair back down from the tight bun and tucked it behind her ears.

Rose gave a slight sigh as she winced. She didn’t tell Willow not to help her. “Thank you.” She spoke as she allowed the fae to assist her. “It is probably good that he didn’t know that you can heal...he would have caused you to drain yourself dry...I imagine.” She spoke as they made their way into the dining room. “I’m alright...just incredibly sore.”
Rhett stood and pulled out a chair for Rose and helped her into her chair, he gave a nod to Willow and a smile as he pushed her into the table. He kissed the side of Rose’s head and then took his seat at the head of the table. Armin stood and pulled the chair out for Willow, a smile upon his lips. He had straightened out his messy hair a bit by running his fingers through it. Kai was already sipping upon her mimosa, a smile upon her lips. “Ah we must make a toast, to Willow.” She lifted her glass once everyone was seated. “It was by fate that my brother was in the right place to assist you and save you from the other pack. We are very grateful for your help Willow.” She clinked her glass together with everyone else’s glasses.
Rose was the only one that did not lift her glass, but she gave a smile and nodded to Willow from across the table. “Grateful is an understatement. I would have died.” She spoke before she began to eat. The first few minutes of breakfast was filled with silence and nods from the lycans as they approved of the food.
Rhett cleared his throat after a few minutes. “So….” He took a sip of his coffee. Kai seemed to be the only one drinking this morning. But that was fairly normal. “Willow...Armin...what has been learned? I do not intend to pry, but we need to know so that I can know what to expect. It is clear that you are an asset to Ignatius otherwise he would not have sent that brute here to retrieve you, I assume?” He gazed to Willow curiously. “So tell me what you can. I’ll get as much information out of our friend after breakfast...”

Once Willow was seated in her chair next to Armin she served herself a bit of the food as well as a bit of water. She wasn't used to drinking that much and so she preferred to stick with something she was used to for the morning meal. It wasn't until Rhett asked about what the pair knew that she started to fidget in her chair slightly. Even the toast she had brushed off. After all if it hadn't been for her Rose wouldn't have gotten hurt in the first place.
"Well.." Willow began. "Honestly, I knew Ignatius would be angry that I wasn't brought home. He uses.. used me mainly for affairs concerning humans. Shopping, sending orders to other servants, and when I wasn't doing that I was keeping his house in order for him." She wanted to make it perfectly clear what she had meant to Ignatius, at least with her understanding of it. "He doesn't like to send his pack members out beyond the territory lines. It's actually a bit surprising he sent Remus out here at all to get me. Usually someone will meet me at the border but never before that." She picked a piece of bacon and took a small bite between pauses in her explanation.
"He.. knew of some of my abilities. Would use them very.. very rarely. Looking back on it and knowing what I know now I can tell he wanted to hide what I was from everyone. I'm not sure why though." She felt bad she couldn't give more answers. "If Remus fails to return.. he'll send someone else with a different tactic. Someone to try and buy me or negotiate my return. If that fails.. well then he might try to forcibly remove me with far many than just one of his pack members unless he somehow doesn't see me worth the effort."
Remus would know more. He would know what Ignatius had said when he returned only with the supplies. How he had reacted and perhaps what he was planning to do next. He always told Remus things because he knew that the brute wouldn't repeat it to anyone. "Remus isn't his Beta, but he's a trusted member of the pack." Willow shivered when she thought of the she-wolf who did serve directly beneath Ignatius. She was truly terrifying.

Rhett watched Willow carefully. Almost as if he was critiquing her as she began to speak her answer. The alpha set down his utensils and sipped from his coffee mug as the others continued to enjoy their breakfast. “There will be no need to worry of him sending a large number of the pack to retrieve you, Willow.” Rhett spoke, he glanced to his brother. “So long as you haven’t changed your mind brother.”
Armin shook his head and took a drink of his own mimosa. “No. She’s staying.” He glanced to Willow. “I won’t allow Ignatius to place her back in such a horrible predicament. Besides Rhett, you’ve been looking for a reason to bring the hammer down on the Silverfang pack. Now we have as good as any. Rose was nearly killed by one of their pack members.”
Rose nodded from across the table. “He’s right, Rhett. That’s more than enough to put an end to Ignatius…” She then bit her lower lip slightly. “But…” She glanced to Willow. “Who is Ignatius’ Beta?” She seemed to have a bit of a hopeful gaze. As if she knew more than she had let on about the Silverfang pack.
“Why does it matter?” Kai questioned. “Whomever his Beta is we will still put an end to them unless they choose to change their ways. Doubtful with the looks of that mutt that came to collect Willow.” Kai took a long drink of her mimosa and refilled the glass from the pitcher. “That pack has been a festering sore for years.” She scoffed slightly.

Hearing Armin finally state that Willow could stay made her want to jump up and hug the man. It was as if the final thread that held her to Ignatius had been severed and she felt completely free from the terrifying alpha. She would have to make a dessert or do something for Armin to show her appreciation.
When Rose asked about the Beta of the Silverfang pack she cringed a bit at the memory of the woman. "Her name is Lilly." Willow replied. "She's tried to convince Ignatius to make her his mate for years but he prefers her in the position she is." Lilly was cruel and malicious. The perfect match for Ignatius but for whatever reason the alpha didn't seem to hold any sort of affection for the she-wolf. Perhaps he simply wasn't capable of it.
"If I may.. I have a bit of advice moving forward." She offered as she looked to Rhett. "Ignatius will try to gain the upper hand. His favorite method is kidnapping. He may try to take one of the pack members to hold for randsome. Perhaps we should prepare for the possibility?" She didn't want anyone taken from the Blackridge pack. Even if it was a member she hadnt met yet she wouldn't be able to forgive herself if something happened to them."

Rose’s hazel eyes watched Willow carefully, when she spoke the name the lycan merely gave a bit of a nod. Luckily before anything more was said Willow had changed to another subject and Rhett’s attention was gained. “Yes. That is good advice. I will have to call a meeting of the pack, get the word out to everyone in the territory…how does he normally work with these kidnappings? What is it that he uses to get into the territory and out without notice?”
“Lilly is my older sister…” Rose’s voice broke the silence then. Nearly everyone at the table froze. Armin almost choked on his last bite of food. Kai’s eyes widened slightly as she glanced to the weakened state that Rose was in. The woman would have been much more assertive in normal circumstances, but to hear to talk now. She almost sounded like she was asking for permission to speak.
“Your sister…is the Silverfang pack Beta?” Rhett questioned, his hues honed in on his mate. “And…you didn’t the mind to tell me this?”
Rose shrank slightly, she wasn’t in a condition that she could fight back. She was far too weak still. Normal circumstances she would have easily quipped something back to the alpha. “I haven’t seen her since I was a child. When my father took us to leave…they captured her…he tried to get her back but he failed several times. To the point that he nearly died in the process. I had heard that Lilly was the Beta…but…I had hoped that we would never have to deal with it.” She looked down to her barely touched plate before her.
Armin drew in a breath his lips parted to speak, but Kai was quick to speak before him. “Perhaps…she isn’t as bad as Willow thinks? Hm? Maybe it’s all an act?” The lycan was hopeful, she looked to Willow for some help. “You know…like…a lot of us do…we act a lot bigger than we really are…it scares off most of the trouble…right?”
Armin finished off his coffee. “I think we need to prepare for whatever will happen…if we can get through this without harming your sister then I imagine Rhett would be in favor of that.” He glanced to his brother.
“Yes of course…” Rhett replied, he looked to his mate with a troubled expression for a long moment before he lifted his eyes to look to Willow. “Would you be helpful in the interrogation of the lycan that was sent to get you?” He questioned then. "You've seen him...you would know if he was lying I imagine."

Willow thought back to the little information she knew about the way Ignatius operated. Which members he focused on and how he might have obtained them. They had an advantage over Ignatius though. They were expecting it. Though she wasn't sure if that would cause Ignatius to switch tactics.
Before she could answer Rhett's question though Rose suddenly interjected with another piece of troubling information. Now that Rose mentioned it there was a resemblance between the two and it could have contributed to Willow's hesitation around Rose. She reminded her of Lilly and just how the woman had always treated Willow. She couldn't count the times Lilly had slapped her simply for getting to close to Ignatius when she was performing certain tasks for the alpha.
Kai's hopefulness wasn't reassured by Willow. There was no way Lilly's behavior was an act. She had been corrupted by Ignatius long ago and she wasn't sure there was a way to come back from that. Then again.. Willow would have never believed it to be possible to be living with another pack only a few days ago. "Ignatius prefers to take children. They're easier to escape with and can be threatened into submission more easily. I havent seen any children here though, unless other members have them, and after that he'll take mates from members. Those he believes he can make others fearful for their wellbeing."
When Rhett asked if she could help with Remus's interrogation she bit her lower lip. She didn't really want to see the wolf again but if it helped them she would try. "Will you be at the interrogation as well, Armin?" She asked. She would feel better if he was there with her and Rhett.

Kai had frowned slightly when Willow didn’t offer any hopeful remarks in regards to Lilly. Rhett seemed to pay more attention to Willow’s words. “Children...” He spoke and gave a slight nod. “There are a few children in the pack. But not many. None of any significant background. But it is a thought. I will have to warn the pack of this as well.” He paused a moment in thought. “I would be more worried about him wanting to take Rose than anything...especially if Lilly realizes just who Rose is...perhaps not.” He glanced to Rose curiously.
“She might remember me...but then again I wouldn’t put it passed Ignatius telling her that he killed my father and I...he’s a controlling asshole….from what I remember.” She drew in a breath. “Could I go lay down?” She asked as she looked to Rhett. “I’m not feeling so well.”
Rhett placed his hand over Rose’s hand and gave a gentle squeeze. “Yes.” He nodded and then looked to the others. “I’m going to help Rose upstairs.” He spoke as he stood and helped her to her feet. Rose leaned against him, she seemed exhausted. “There we are.” He had his arm around her waist. “I’ve got you.” He spoke as he walked her from the room.
Armin looked to Willow and gave a gentle smile. “I’m not letting you anywhere near that lycan without me being there.” He assured her. He stood and started gathering plates. “Kai, are you going to assist with the interrogation?” He questioned as he looked to his sister.
Kai had a look of frustration upon her face. “Yes...I’d like to know what we can...” She looked to Willow. “We will figure this out. Our pack is more cohesive than most. We do not have internal quarreling like most other packs. At least, not since Rhett became our Alpha.” She picked up the other plates and carried them into the kitchen.

If Ignatius took Rose it would be absolutely devastating. Every time Ignatius managed to actually capture the mate of an alpha it was always a quick loss for the other pack. Alphas were strong, capable individuals. It was what allowed them to lead, but their mates were usually the kink in their otherwise impenetrable armor. She watched with a look of sympathy as Rhett helped Rose out of her chair and ferried her back to their bedroom to rest. With Willow unable to heal her wounds completely she would have a long way till she was feeling like her old self again.
Hearing that Armin was indeed going to accompany her to the interrogation though made her feel much better. Not to mention Kai would be joining too. She could have all of her new friends there to support her and she knew Remus wouldn't be able to stand up to all of them. The odds simply weren't in his favor. Then as Kai and Armin began to clean up the dishes Willow also stood and began to help taking things to the kitchens, glasses and other serving utensils they had used for the meal. She also helped wash each of them and put them away once more.
Once they were finished she gave a small sigh and brushed the hair from her face. "We should get some herbs for Rose. I know of some plants that are good for pain or help fight against infection that might speed up her recovery." She offered then looked to Armin. "I'm sure I could find them if I went searching in the surrounding forest." She wasn't going to go alone though. It was simply asking for trouble.

Armin glanced to Willow as she made the suggestion. He drew in a breath and crossed his arms over his chest slightly. He seemed to think deeply before he parted his lips to reply. Though Kai was quick to interject. “A stroll in the forest?” She mused as she looked to her brother. “Sounds like a good time. Rhett will be a while since he has to get the word out to the pack.” She placed the last dish in the drying rack. Armin drew in a breath and gave a nod. “If we can help her recover more quickly…that would be ideal. Since there is a bit of an impending worry that our packs may go to war against one another. Though, Rhett has been looking forward to this day for a long while. I think the stories that Rose told him about her childhood in that pack have stemmed a bit more hatred from him for the Silverfang. Besides the fact that they are so aggressive. Our pack aims to keep our species as hidden as possible, there is no need to flaunt our power…the only thing that comes of that is hunters…and that could spell the end for a pack depending on the amount of hunters that come after the group.” Kai gave a nod, “Even when Rose has been….well herself…the words that she spoke about Silverfang were never good. Her and her father were treated very poorly. I won’t repeat the things she’s told me.” She walked across the room. “Well, shall we?” She asked with a smile as she looked to Willow. Kai was always up for the adventure. Armin drew in a breath and nodded, “I’ll let Rhett know.” He spoke as he stepped from the room swiftly. Kai glanced to Willow again and then smiled, “You’re very thoughtful.” She spoke as she linked arms with her. “So my brother watched over you last night hm?” She smirked to Willow. “He’s a lovely guardian, isn’t he?” She chuckled lightly as she walked outside into the warm morning sun. Kai let out a delighted sigh as she felt the warmth seem to hug to her skin.
