As they hiked toward Howling Rock Skylar began to really feel the effects of the fever that clutched on to her body. She stopped when Eva stopped and pointed to the smoke that lifted up into the sky, she was thankful they were close. Her muscles began to ache; her head began to pound. She sniffled and wrapped her arms around her body, the air around her was colder than she would like. “Do you think they will welcome us?” Ayla asked, breaking the silence. She couldn’t stop thinking about the image of the lycan leader, she didn’t look like any other lycan Ayla had ever laid eyes on. Most lycans were filthy creatures. But not Ren.
“Ren is a trustworthy lycan.” Skylar spoke softly, her voice sounded weak. She trembled as they stepped up to the large rock. She stared up to it, taking in its presence. She turned before Eva and Ayla even turned, she could hear Ren approaching. She could smell something sweet. She furrowed her brows as she watched them come out of the dark forest. Skylar stood with her arms hugging her body as she listened to the conversation, she made eye contact with Ren a few times and then found her eyes trailing off to the sounds of the forest.
“Alliance.” Ren spoke and gave a nod. “That is what I would like, Evalyne.” Her hazel eyes turned to Skylar once again, she shifted, almost uncomfortably. “Though, I would like a word with Skylar, alone.” She looked back to Eva. “I need to ask her a few questions.” Ren stepped forward then.
Skylar looked into her eyes, her body trembled. “Ren.” She spoke softly, weakly.
Ayla stepped forward to guard Skylar, unsure of this lycan. Though, she saw the other two that came with Ren tense up, ready for anything. Ayla clenched her jaw and took a step back. She looked over the lycan leader, studying her. Her eyes looked to Eva.
Ren took Skylar’s arm. “Come.” She spoke and pulled her away, she led her down the hill and to the camp that was set up. “Skylar, first tell me, you are not their captive.” She spoke as she brought her into a tent and sat her down on a bed. “Dr. Knightly.” Ren spoke, “Come here, please.”
Skylar shook her head. “No, I wanted to come along, this could be a means to an end, like we’ve talked about before.” She took in quick breaths and nearly fell from the table.
Ren looked her over, her eyes curious. “What happened, Skylar?” She questioned as she steadied her. “You’re not well.”
Dr. Knightly came into the tent then, her nose wrinkled slightly. “Lycan?” She spoke and glanced to Ren. “She’s…”
“I know.” Ren spoke. “Were you bitten by a lycan, Skylar?”
Skylar thought back to the Lycan that pulled her from the bunker, she thought about the pain and winced slightly. “Y-yes.” She gave a nod and sniffled. “Lycans stormed a bunker that we were in. He broke my leg with his jaws. Eva healed me with her blood.”
Ren took a step forward and lifted up Skylar’s pant leg, she knew somehow which leg. She inspected the scar and then looked back up to her. “You know what this means?” She asked, her tone grave. “Have you been sick?” She asked and waited for Skylar to nod. “You were bitten by a pure blood, Skylar, this wasn’t an accident.” She turned. “Dr. Knightly, make her comfortable while I go inform Evalyn, I’m sure she will be rather displeased with this.” Ren took in a deep breath. She then hugged Skylar for a moment. “You’re going to be alright, don’t worry.” She then left the tent.
Skylar turned her eyes to Dr. Knightly whom pulled a few things from a hard case. “Your molecular make-up has changed, Sky.” She spoke softly. “You smell of human and lycan, like mixed cocktail.” She let out a soft chuckle. “It’s intriguing. When did this injury occur?”
“Two nights ago…” Skylar’s voice shook. Her eyes were wide, tears welled up in her eyes. She was frightened. Was this what Kratos meant by a present? Or what Jerimiah meant by telling her to stay strong? “This can’t be right.” Skylar spoke quickly.
“I’m sorry, Sky.” Dr. Knightly spoke. “You’re halfway through the transformation, I would say you have two to three more days before your first turn can occur. Ren and I will assist you.” She searched Skylar’s frightened eyes for a moment. “It isn’t so bad, once you gain control. But we will teach you.” She pulled a syringe. “I’m going to inject you with a medicine that will calm the fever so that it doesn’t kill you, you’re incredibly warm. How long have you had it?”
“Last night…I’ve been freezing…” She spoke softly and shivered.
“That’s a tale tale sign of the transformation taking place.” Dr. Knightly took the syringe, “This will burn.” She spoke before she stabbed the syringe into Skylar’s thigh. Skylar let out a cry and gripped onto Dr. Knightly’s shoulders.
**
“Skylar.” Ayla took a step forward, the two men that came up with Ren held their guns up, ready to shoot. “What are you doing to her?” She growled, her fangs showing. “Eva!” She snapped.
Ren walked up then, she pat the men on their shoulders. “Calm down.” She spoke and stepped forward. “Evalyn. When Skylar was bitten by the Lycan a few nights ago, it was a pure blood.” She paused.
Ayla’s eyes shot to Eva, her jaw tightened, she then looked back to Ren. “There has to be something we can do!” She spoke quickly.
Ren took in a slow breath, “She is halfway through the change, her molecular make-up has already begun to change over, I could smell her as we walked up. All we can do is guide her.” She looked back to Eva then and held out her hand. “I want an Alliance with you, Evalyn, you will be protected by my pack, so long as my pack is protected by your coven. I need help stopping the Blood Pack before they destroy this world.”
Ayla stared at Ren. She was so calm. Ayla fought to keep her calm state, she was screaming on the inside. How could she let this happen? She promised Eva she would protect Skylar. She’d let her queen down. She clenched her jaw as she thought of this fact. She glanced to Eva, awaiting her response.

Eva looked to Ayla as Ren stepped away with Skylar. She moved over to Ayla and nodded slightly. “Have you noticed something different lately?” she questioned softly. “Skylar’s blood has rose in temperature…” she spoke softly and watched as Skylar disappeared out of sight with Ren. “I’m worried” she whispered and then turned back towards the rock.
The two men stood, watching them close. It was a few minutes later when Ren finally returned back. “An Alliance then” Eva stepped forward and shook Ren’s hand. “You can call me Eva” she nodded and then stepped back as Ren began to talk again. Ren’s voice was full of concern as she spoke about Skylar’s sickness. When she mentioned it was a true blood who bit her - Eva grit her teeth. From her last understanding - there was not very many True Blood’s remaining. Usually they kept out of sight, as other Lycans always threaten their life in hopes to be the Alpha…
Eva crossed her arms and paced slightly as this news overcame her… “I want to see her” she spoke and then looked to Ren, who nodded. They walked down to the tent and Ren pointed to the one she was in. Eva looked back to Ayla and Ren and then nodded. “I’d like to be alone with her… briefly” she spoke and then made towards the tent.
The reached for the cloth opened, pulling it back so she could enter. The tent was warm, full with body heat. She looked to Dr.Knightly, who was hovering over Skylar. “Dr.Knightly” Eva spoke and nodded to her.
Dr.Knightly turned to her - a puzzled face about her. “Have we met?” she questioned.
“Oh - uh, no. Skylar has mentioned you before. I made an assumption, my apologies” she bowed her head.
“No - I am Dr.Knightly, I - I’m sorry. Pleasure to meet you” she spoke and then glanced to Skylar. “She has only a few more days until the transformation is complete. She is exhibiting an intense fever, custom to the transformation. Surely she is developing enhanced sensory by now, soon her physique will develop, and then her mind and instincts…” she spoke and stood. Dr.Knightly studied Eva for a moment and then nodded. “You must be Eva, the true blood vampire, are you not?”
“I am” Eva replied. She knelt down by the bed and placed her hand on Skylar’s scar, observing it for a moment. Her fingers strolled over the thick scar tissue that was not level with her skin. She looked to Skylar and let out a soft sigh.
“Is it true… that vampire transformation only takes 2-3 days?” Dr.Knightly questioned, her voice seem to be leading somewhere.
“Generally..yes” Eva spoke, raising her eyebrow.
“Hmm… “ Dr. Knightly pondered for a moment, turning away as she flipped through her note book. “From all my studies and research.. I have formed a theory saying… A hybrid can only be of full blood descendants, and to formulate properly - the two processes should be staggered to an exact measurement to equate in stable molecular structure….” She rambled for a moment and then looked up to Eva.
“When is that… exact measurement?” Eva spoke, crossing her arms as she stood.
“From the blood drawing I have calculated the exact time she was bitten. Making the most opportune moment… in exactly 3 hours and 22 minutes” she spoke, looking at a round watch that hung on a golden chain.
“What.. exactly are you proposing, Dr.Knightly?”
“I have been testing for quiet sometime… a Lycan - Vampire hybrid. It can only be done on a fresh subject who is in the process of transforming as a Lycan. You see, the Lycan transformation process is exactly 1.8 times faster than the vampire process. There for the Lycan process must be done first, which at the halfway point if you include the vampire… the molecules change at the same rate, which results in a hybrid…” Dr.Knightly set her notebook down and looked to Skylar.
“And how many of these have you successfully done?” Eva spoke, her voice becoming a bit cold.
“The closest I have done was just recently… I had both pure blood samples, I proceeded with my calculations then… the hybrid only lasted 1 month before dying. From that study is when I figured out the exact transformation difference, creating a ratio, to which I could base my theory on…” Dr.Knightly’s voice stayed confident, as she realized she had to defend her reasoning.
“So you are saying… that she will die if you are not right?” Eva’s voice became aggressive, but yet calm. “Technically… yes. However I have carefully calculated everything… DNA..molecular structure…the actual transformation process. The only element I had left to discover was the actual transformation time and rate of transformation… I have been running tests for over 5 years to discover this…” “What.. is the benefit of having a hybrid?” Eva looked to skylar now..
“A hybrid would bring the two parties together..prove that Vampire and Lycan can thrive together, so much that a hybrid could exist. It would demolish all political standards, create a new life, a new breed, a new brand. The power that a hybrid has.. is beyond any Pure blood species… if in the correct hands.. a Hybrid could bring ultimate peace, but threatening all wars..” Dr.Knightly spoke, placing her arms before her, clasping them together as she spoke.
Eva let out a deep sigh and looked to Skylar. “We will have to let her decide…” she spoke and then moved from the tent. As she exited she nearly ran into Ayla, who stood very close to the tent, listening.
“A Hybrid?” Ayla questioned. “Wha- what? What if Skylar dies?” she spoke with a baffled voice.
“Dr.Knightly seems to be believe she wont… in all of my other worlds.. Dr.Knightly is never wrong - when she believes she is right, she always is. She is a genius.. her calculations are always accurate. If she believes it… I believe her” she spoke, walking a bit away with Ayla.
“Hmm..” Ayla spoke as she crossed her arms. “It would… destroy all the political crap the council plays… Having someone more powerful than them… creating that new life - it would demolish the idea of the old ways…” she spoke softly.
“Yes it would… and we will need someone of great power to aid in defeating demons… who or what that could come through those portals… if you know anything about my world .. again.. then you know that what lurks in the demonic world is greater than any imagination… if hades himself wanted a way in .. that would be his ticket” she spoke and then turned towards the tent. “I know if it meant Skylar would get the opportunity to save the world, even at the expense of her own life… she would do it” she whispered and then looked to the stars. “If fate wants it that way, if that is what it takes to bring balance to this evil world, it will play out the way it should…”

Skylar lay with heavy eyes as this conversation played out. Dr. Knightley had given her medication to help soothe her as the transformation continued. She lifted her hand as Eva left the tent, her brows pulled together. “Eva…” She spoke softly and then shut her eyes.
Dr. Knightley watched her for a long moment. “I want to run a few more tests, Skylar.” She stated as she poked a needle into Skylar’s arm and drew blood. She then went over to a machine where she began conducting tests on her blood. She clicked away quickly and eventually gave a nod. “Do you want it?” She asked as she turned around and looked to Skylar. “Do you want to end this war? You’ve spoken of ending the war so much in the past when you’ve helped our pack.” She moved and shined a light in Skylar’s eyes for a moment, looking at her pupils reactions. “Eva….” She sat down next to the bed and gave a smiled to Skylar, “She doesn’t seem the type of vampire to force such a thing on you.” She nodded, “She has a good heart, much like Ren. It’s refreshing to see this in a pure blood. Most are ruthless.”
“I’ll do it.” Skylar spoke, her voice small. “What needs to be done?” She then asked, her eyes stared up to Dr. Knightly.
Dr. Knightly took in a slow deep breath, she nodded, “Well, the first thing that must be done will be the most painful part. Eva will have to drink you to the point of death, and we will have to hope that she can control herself enough to stop drinking your blood. Because now with the lycan genetic make-up coursing through your blood, it makes it even more tempting.” She then let out a soft chuckle. “Actually, your blood before all of this…your scent, you drove the other lycans crazy every time you came to help. I’ve helped Ren lock up a few of our pack to protect you. You’re pure, Skylar. This is a very unique circumstance that you find yourself in.” She then pondered a moment. “Honestly, out of any of the experiments that I have conducted over the past five years, I expect you to have the greatest chance of survival, with all of the pieces to this puzzle, you have the purest of chances to complete the change.” She paused a moment, “The hybrid that lasted a month, he wasn’t pure of heart…” She shook her head. “And, I only had the blood of a vampire and lycan, I didn’t have the purity of a bite, or the chance to drain his blood. These circumstances that you have found yourself in set you up for survival….” She then shook her head. “I digress.” She searched Skylar’s eyes. “After Eva drinks you to the point of death, when your heart is barely beating, then she must get you to drink her blood. You’ll have to drink a bit, more than a few drops. She’ll have to help you, as you won’t be able to hold your own head up at this point….” She paused again, “Then we wait. In two days time, you will become a hybrid, and then we can set forth in ending this war.”
Skylar took in a breath, her body felt as though she had just run two marathons, her muscles were so tense and sore. “Alright.” She gave a nod. “I trust you Dr. Knightly, you’ve never steered me wrong.”
Dr. Knightly smiled then, she cupped Skylar’s cheek. “I will do everything in my power to keep you safe, Sky.” She stood and stepped from the tent to find Eva.
**
Ayla paced back and forth. “This is…crazy…Eva…” She looked to her queen, she shook her head. She looked to the lycans that stared to the vampires in their camp. Ayla grit her teeth. “I’ll do whatever you need, my queen. I trust you, if you say Dr. Knightly is right, then hopefully fate is on our side.”
“Eva.” Dr. Knightly spoke as she walked up to the two. She looked to Ayla for a long moment before she brought her eyes back to the queen. “She has agreed to go through with it. Do you know what needs to be done for this to work?” She questioned.
Ayla stepped away as the two began speaking. She wandered through the camp, her pulse quick as she thought of the situation that they were in. Demons. A hybrid. She shook her head. She crossed her arms as she stared up to the full moon and stars. Ayla sighed heavily as she turned and began walking, she wasn’t paying attention and she walked right into the side of a lycan. She stumbled a few steps, gripping onto the lycan as they tumbled to the ground. “I’m sorry!” She cried out as she scrambled to her feet. “Here.” She reached her hand down and found herself staring into Ren’s eyes. She froze for a moment, remembering the image that Eva showed her. “Let me help you.” She finally spoke as she pulled Ren to her feet. “I wasn’t paying attention…sorry…this whole situation…” She shook her head, a bit nervous for some reason.

Eva turned to Dr.Knightley as she approached. She stepped from Ayla and followed her as she spoke. “I do…” she whispered and then stopped before the tent. She always hated the turning process. It was not like her to bring someone so close to death, it was like torture. And she hated the instinctual crave for blood that overcame her during it. Everyday she lived a vampire she craved to be a human. She had been an outcast for her views, hence why she had a small coven in the middle of no where. When ever she would stand up for the humans, fight against the vampire ways - the council would deem her ill- fit to stand with them.
A confused vampire, they would say. Someone who could accept who they were. Often she would be cornered by an elder, they would all say the same thing. You cannot change what you have become. You cannot change the world from hating you, just for being who you. Do not resist. Be a vampire. They meant… kill, drink and maintain order. Follow in their footsteps, give no reason to murderous ways… all except for - I’m a vampire. This attitude was no different than racism, sexism, all the hate shaming, killing, all of it. It was just another humanistic social form. Make yourself different… act out radically… care not for those even if they do not hold the same opinion. It was all hatred…
Eva stepped into the tent and sat down on the edge of the bed, her hand resting on Skylar’s thigh. “I knew you’d end up doing it” she gave a chuckle and then let out a sigh. “As you wish..” she whispered. She then moved so that she was big spooning Skylar, laying next to her. “Just incase… this is the last days together. I will make it worth while” she spoke and nuzzled her nose into her neck.
** Ren turned around from talking to a lycan and was instantly knocked over. She gasped and held her hand to her head. As she looked up - she smiled to Ayla, accepting her hand. “You’re a little clumsy” she spoke and smiled, charmingly. “It’s okay, I wasn’t paying attention… I would have easily dodged such a vicious attack” she joked.
“Walk with me?” she asked, not really accepting no. She led Ayla towards the Howling Rock, to look over the bit of mountain that led down into the valley. It was a good viewing spot. As they stopped at the rock, Eva turned towards her and smiled. “This rock dates back hundreds of years… do you know why Eva chose this spot?” she questioned, turning then to look out to the mountains. When paused and then continued - “My ancestors claimed this to be a monument of peace. Before the vampire wars started - there was a massive civil war, pack versus pack. Must worse than today.. it was before there was an order, when there was too many Pure Bloods roaming about” she spoke and then glanced to Ayla, her eyes studying her with admiration.
“Whenever something would happen… a drought or maybe a big threat.. they would meet here, call a truce. Under the oath to maintain it” she chuckled. “Though… no one has used this rock in that manner in so long.. it was very honorable for Eva to pick it. It means a lot to my culture” she spoke, placing a hand on the stone.
“But times are changing right? One day we will all wake up - still unable to remember why we were fighting in the first place, but glad that it is over. We can… live day by day, without worry…” she stepped over to Ayla and then looked to the full moon. “No… politics…no war… for once we can think about bigger things. What Lycan or vampire truly knows of love? You lose someone so fast…” she chuckled and then hid her gaze. “Sorry.. I’m rambling” she laughed and then put her hands behind her head. “I hate it all” she laughed then and then place a hand against the stone, leaning against it.
“Remember as a kid? A human, of course. Running down the road chasing after the icecream cart?” she laughed. “And - and he would hold the cone out and flip it around - keeping you from grabbing it. Yeah - every icecream dude did that” she chuckled and then crossed her arms. “And you’d go to bed chocolate still on your face, thinking about… I dunno.. what little kids think about” she glanced to Ayla and then smiled. “What was your childhood like, can you remember?”

Dr. Knightly held the tent flap open for Eva. “I will be here, if there is anything that you need.” She gave a nod as she slipped inside and moved to the separated section that was a makeshift office for her.
Skylar looked up to Eva as she placed her hand on her thigh, she gave a weak smile. The color of her eyes had become dull, her eyes fluttered slightly. As she progressed through the turn she would become more and more weak, by the last day just before she would transform she would barely be able to move from the pain and weakness that the change would bring her. Skylar closed her eyes as Eva snuggled into her, she laced her fingers through Eva’s hand. “I will make it through.” She whispered, “I promise Eva, I won’t give up.” She leaned her head back slightly, “Just…don’t lose control.” She whispered before she turned slightly and kissed Eva for a long moment, though her muscles were in pain she managed to kiss with passion. “I trust you my love.” She held on tightly to Eva’s hand and took in a deep breath as she allowed her eyes to slip shut. Skylar could hear Eva’s heartbeat, her breathing, she could hear the forest, the lycans, the crackling of the fire. She could smell the sweet scent of Eva, magnified more now, more than anything she had ever smelled. She took in a deep breath, and leaned her head back, exposing her neck for Eva then, her body shuddered. She knew this would be painful, she knew it would be one of the most unpleasant experiences in her life, though, she was not afraid, because Eva was there. She wouldn’t have it any other way.
**
Ayla chuckled at Ren’s joke. “If I were attacking you it would have been a lot more impressive.” She laughed and then gave a nod when Ren asked her to follow. A smile stayed on her lips as she listened to Ren’s stories, as she watched her. She chuckled as she spoke about the ice cream man and the chocolate on her face. Ayla’s smile faded slightly when Ren asked her of her childhood. She bit at her lip slightly, “My childhood wasn’t as glamorous.” She spoke softly, she let out a small laugh. “I was an orphan.” She leaned against the rock in front of Ren, close to her arm that she used to prop herself up. She looked into Ren’s eyes, “I do remember getting away, running to the coffee shop once a week, my foster mother would always give me just enough for a caramel hot cocoa.” She grinned happily. “The froth of the milk would always give me a moustache.” She held her finger up and giggled. She then looked down over the camp her eyes looking over the lycans for a long moment. “I used to sit and play checkers with my little brother. I would have to let him win, because if I didn’t give him the chance every now and then when we got home our mother would scold me to no end.” She chuckled. She then hid her eyes, it always made her sad to talk about her foster brother, she loved him like her own blood.
“You know, it would be a grand thing to wake, no worries in the world.” She smiled as she continued to lean against the rock, a bit closer to Ren now. She glanced to her, she could smell the lycan now, she didn’t seem the same as the others. She wasn’t filthy. She wasn’t disgusting. Every lycan she’d ever run into with other packs immediately made her want to gag. “Lycans and vampires alike could know love then.” She smiled, her fangs glistened in the moonlight. She then shook her head. “One can only hope, right?” She turned slightly, facing Ren more now.

**RAVEN**
Eva fell asleep next to Skylar, holding her closely the entire while. She could feel her heart beat against her arm that rest against her chest. She inhaled her scent and loved on the heat that she radiated. For this moment she could remember her as she was. She wondered in this moment if this transformation process would a permanent impact on her soul… would this new ability transfer over into the new world, or would it remained here with the body of Skylar…
“It is time… “ Dr.Knightley set her hand on Eva’s shoulder, moving her slightly to wake her. Eva sat up and then gave a gentle yawn. “You have about 30 minutes” she spoke and then stepped from the two. Eva climbed off of the bed and stretched…
**
Ren grinned and then stepped forwards her. “None of us had a great childhood.. but we cling onto those memories. Those moments… they were what made it all wrorthwhile…” she then pat her shoulder and nodded. “Come on, lets head back. It should be time soon” she nodded and then lead Ayla down the path, back to the tents.
Ren stopped to talk to a few people. In an instant the entire campsite was standing – they split off and went to their posts. During this process Ren upped the guard, preparing for anything. If they had planted this Lycanthropy on Skylar… whoever did… would surely try and stop them from the creation of a hybrid.
Ren stepped to the tent, opening the flap to the entrance. “Come on now” she spoke, smiling.
Eva stood and led Skylar out by her hand, she led Skylar to the Howling Wolf stone, where Ren and Ayla stood near by, watching them. Eva looked to Skylar for a long moment and then let out a breath she had held. “Sky..” she whispered and then squeezed her eyes shut. Dr.Knightley stepped up nxt to Ren, pocketwatch in hand. “It is time” Knightley spoke, a bit of fear across her face…
Eva looked to Ayla and nodded “If… I can’t stop… I want you to interfere – Ayla. No one else” Eva spoke, looking to her. Ayla nodded and then smiled weakly. “I wont have to” Ayla assured..
Eva turned back to Skylar, holding both of her hands. “Are you ready?” she whispered timidly. “It wont hurt…” she smiled then. “Actually… you’ll like it” she leaned forward and then kissed her deeply. As the kiss flourished – the world around them changed. Ayla stepped back – surprised to see this. Around them flowers grew – grass through the rock.. The dark sky turned blue, the sun showing high. They stood in the rift… or more like the rift came to them. Eva pulled from the kiss then and looked at Skylar right in the eyes. “I love you” she whispered.
She brushed her nose against Skylar’s jaw and then opened her mouth – her fangs growing in length. Her arms moved around skylar and she brought her close, their bodies colliding. In one swift motion she sank her fangs into her neck.
Eva’s eyes popped wide – they glazed over in red as bloodlust kicked in. It had been long since she drank from a human. And never had she had a pure heart before. The blood was full of power, it was sweet and almost tonic. Eva’s fingers pulled at Skylar and she began to drink. An average vampire could drain a human in about 2 minutes… this is all it would take.
Before she truly began she injected Skylar with natural endorphins, a sort of triggered reaction if the vampire were to allow it. It would create the same reaction as making love, it would become enjoyable for the host. Generally vampire’s did not do this, for the two would become linked in this moment. The vampire offering themselves to the host… while taking at the same time…
Eva leaned into Skylar, drinking her now. About halfway she felt her entire body shake – her muscles growing and groaning, her body craving and needing more. It was an instinct that she couldn’t control. The more she drank – the more powerful she became, the more rabid the instinct became. Blood dripped from her chin, soaking into her shirt now. She gripped Skylar even closer.
Ren looked about the world – she had never seen anything like it. She spun around for a moment, before bringing her eyes to Eva and Skylar. Eva had Skylar, almost limp in her arms as she bent over and drank her. She had never seen a vampire drink someone dry before. Vampires, from her understanding, have different kinds of bites. A kill bite, which took just a few seconds… rip the jugular. A drink, which was just enough..short. But the drain bite… there were only ever two reasons for this. To turn someone. Or to gain every inch of power from another vampire. Rarely was it used recreational.
Eva was coming close to the end of her two minutes. Her muscles fought against her will to pull away. “Ayla” Ren spoke, her eyes panicking now. Eva thrashed against herself, she pulled away and gasped – but her head dove back forward. Eva cried out, groaning as she tried to stop. In an instantly Ayla ran forward and grabbed Eva away, pulling her back. Skylar’s eyes were completely red now, her body radiating power and energy. Ayla pulled Eva back, dragging her away.
Eva struggling against Ayla, but then sprang free. She knocked Ayla back with one slam and then turned towards Skylar. She grit her teeth, groaning, “Take care of her” she spoke in some angry sort of tone. She couldn’t control it. She teleported away in an instant, forcing herself away. She was standing in the middle of a village now.. the rift world had disappeared. The moon was high, the night sky covering the world. She flung forward in a ravage motion, ripping towards humans. She sank her teeth into several, drinking them for a moment before jumping away to the next. A beast controlled by her instincts… this was what vampires feared to become.
Suddenly Eva was slammed back by a white figure. Lucille pinned her down and threw her palm into Eva’s face. A bright shining white covered her body and paralyzed her. “Control yourself child!” Lucille spoke and she held her hand up. The humans who were bitten glowed slightly, their bite healed. Lucille lifted Eva and then lifted into the air – flying back to Ren’s village. She landed just moments later, setting Eva down near the howling rock, disappearing before anyone could see her. Eva had been knocked out completely…. What Lucille had just done… was save hundreds of lives…

Skylar held onto Eva’s hand in her sleep, her body shuddered from the fever, her breaths were small and quick. When Dr. Knightley walked over to wake Eva, Skylar’s eyes cracked open. She looked to Eva and stood slowly, taking her hand as she was led to Howling Rock. Ayla watched with focused eyes, she looked around, listening to everything, making sure her queen was safe, as well as Skylar. She looked away when Eva sunk her fangs into Skylar. The sight of Skylar’s eyes as they widened, her entire body became tense. Her fingers curled rightly on Eva’s body, she let out a small cry before the endorphins rushed her system. As this happened Skylar’s body loosened, she let out a shaken breath as her head leaned back, giving way to Eva’s bite.
Ayla looked to the void world around them, it was incredible to see the power the Eva possessed. She watched with her brows pulled tightly together. “Come on Eva.” She whispered. She watched as Skylar’s skin became pale, as her body began to loosen in Eva’s grip. Her jaw tightened as the smell of Skylar’s blood sifted into her nostrils, as her own instinct told her to drink. When Ren spoke her name Ayla glanced to her a moment, “Just…” She watched as Eva completely lost control. She rushed forward and pulled her from Skylar. When Eva slammed her Ayla flew back and smacked against Howling Rock, she stood quickly with a growl, her fangs showed, her eyes were threatening. With that Eva told the group to take care of Skylar and disappeared.
Dr. Knightley ran forward and scooped Skylar up. “This isn’t good.” She spoke, her eyes wide. She looked to the bite mark on Skylar’s neck. “She needs Eva’s blood.” She set Skylar down carefully on a blanket and looked her over. Skylar was barely breathing, her pulse was thready and weak. “Skylar.” She shined a light in her eyes that were cloudy and dull. Dr. Knightly then looked to Ayla whom was knelt next to Skylar now. “Eva is your sire?” She asked, “Please tell me she is your sire.”
Ayla gavea nod, “She is yes...” Ayla had calmed down after the blow she took from Eva. She’d never been hit that hard by a vampire. It was terrifying.
Dr. Knightley reached out then and gripped Ayla’s hand. “You’ll have to do.” She spoke as she pulled a dagger from her thigh. “I’m sorry Alya.” She spoke softly just before she slid the dagger across Ayla’s wrist. “We can only pray to the gods that this works.” She moved Skylar so that she leaned against Ayla. Dr. Knightley then pressed Ayla’s wrist to Skylar’s lips. “Drink, Skylar.” She spoke as she squeezed Ayla’s wrist, causing blood to drain into Skylar’s mouth. Ayla let out a groan as Dr. Knightley did this. A few minutes passed, Skylar’s eyes fluttered, her hand lifted up and grasped onto Ayla’s arm weakly. “That’s it.” Dr. Knightley released Ayla’s hand.
Ayla looked up to the doctor. “What if this doesn’t work?” She questioned. “I’m not a pure blood…”
“It will have to work. Do you see Eva anywhere?” Dr. Knightley spoke, though her eyes showed her fear that this would fail.
Ayla held her wrist to Skylar’s lips as her blood continued to leak into her mouth. “Come on, Sky.” She spoke softly. Her eyes then shot up when she heard a thud. “Eva…” She went to move but Dr. Knightley placed her hand on her shoulder.
Dr. Knightley moved to Eva and knelt next to her, a puzzled expression on her face. “Bring Skylar over here.” She spoke as she grasped Eva’s hand. “We need to get Eva’s blood in her before it’s too late.”
Ayla pulled her wrist from Skylar’s lips and lifted her carefully, her entire body was limp. Her breathing was so slow that it was hard to tell that she was in fact alive. Ayla set Skylar down next to Eva and watched as Dr. Knightley cut Eva’s forearm. “How do we know if it’s not too late?” Ayla questioned.
Dr. Knightley took in a breath as she pressed Eva’s arm to Skylar’s lips. Blood leaked from the sides of her mouth. “Drink.” Dr. Knightly pressed Eva’s arm a bit more forcefully.
In that moment Skylar’s eyes opened wide. Her hands shot up and gripped onto Eva’s arm as she drank her blood. Dr. Knightley pulled her back after half of a minute. “Grab Eva.” She spoke as she held Skylar in her arms. Skylar’s breaths shook, her body trembled. “I know.” She nodded as she carried Skylar back down to the tents. She set her down on the same bed that Eva and Skylar had been on not too long ago.
Ayla looked to Ren with worried eyes. “This was completely dangerous…” She whispered softly as she lifted Eva’s limp body into her arms. “I hope Dr. Knightley knows what she is doing.”
Dr. Knightley drew blood from Skylar and began testing it. Skylar’s eyes fluttered, she whimpered and shook. “No…” Dr. Knightley turned. She grabbed onto Skylar as she began to seize her entire body began to convulse. Dr. Knightley grit her teeth, her brows tucked tightly together, “Don’t give up, Skylar. If you can hear me, don’t stop fighting.”
Skylar foamed at the mouth as her eyes rolled into the back of her head, only the whites of her eyes could be seen now. Her back arched violently, her nails dug into her palms so deeply that blood was drawn. Tears streamed down her cheeks. Ayla rushed in. “Holy shit!” She set Eva down quickly in a chair and rushed forward. “Dr. Knightley what is happening?” She gasped as she helped the doctor restrain Skylar.
“I….I don’t know…” She shook her head, her eyes wide. Dr. Knightley rushed around and readied an injection. “Hold her still.” She said through grit teeth as she stabbed a needle into Skylar’s arm. “Come on…come on…” She spoke under her breath.
“What was that?” Ayla asked as she looked to the empty syringe. “What did you give her?”
Dr. Knightley helped hold Skylar as the seizures began to subside. She rolled her more onto her side as blood leaked from her nose and mouth. “I’m attempting to save her life.” She spoke as she rushed around the room.
“We missed it, didn’t we?” Ayla asked, fear in her voice.
“Not necessarily…at least…I hope not…” She found a small bottle and unwrapped another syringe. Dr. Knightley watched as Skylar’s breathing began to slow, she could hear her heartbeat threatening to stop.
“She’s going to die…” Ayla whispered, “Her pulse…” She stepped forward and felt Skylar’s pulse through her wrist.
“I’m not going to let that happen.” Dr. Knightley gave a gentle smile. “Would you mind stepping outside?” She asked and then injected Skylar with the syringe she had drawn.
Ayla burst from the tent, her eyes wide. She slammed into one of the lycans. He turned with angry eyes toward her. “S-sorry…” She stammered. She rushed through the camp until she found Ren. “Ren!” She cried. “This isn’t going as planned…I…Eva is unconscious still…and Skylar isn’t looking too well…” Her voice was full of fear.
**
A few hours passed, Skylar’s pulse dipped down threateningly low several times, only for Dr. Knightley to speed it back up with a shot of adrenaline. Dr. Knightley grinned as she looked to the bloodwork she drew, it was excellent, both the vampire and lycan DNA were coursing through her blood now. Suddenly Skylar sat up, her eyes shot open as she fell from the bed. She screamed in pain as bones within her body began to snap and break.
Dr. Knightley rushed to her side. “Skylar.” She stared into her eyes. “You have to listen to me.” She gripped her face. “You can’t fight it. So stop trying to resist right now. Just let it happen.” Skylar let out a groan, her eyes were a vivid golden yellow, a color that Dr. Knightley hadn’t seen before. Skylar cried in pain, as her mouth was open Dr. Knightley could see her fangs coming in, two on the top row of teeth and one sharp set of canines on the bottom. She grinned, it was happening. “Good, just relax.” She held Skylar there as her body trembled. “Breathe, Skylar.”
Skylar’s brows tucked together and a growl came from her as more bones popped. She screamed in pain and buckled forward onto her hands and knees. Her bones began to shift, pressing outward, her ears extended. Blood dripped from her mouth as the change began. An ear splitting scream came from Skylar as the turn forced forward, her face turned to a snout and her ears began to lengthen. Her nails began to become long and sharp. Skylar curled as the pain forced through her body. Slowly she morphed into a beautiful lycan form. Her muscles were toned and fit, her fur was a gorgeous charcoal with white underneath.
Dr. Knightley took in quick breaths as she watched this transformation. Suddenly Skylar let out a deep growl, the predatory instinct taking over her body. Her bones crunched and cracked, as the lycan attributes began to slip away, her body snapped back into her human form. Her fangs were frighteningly sharp and long as she continued to groan in pain. Skylar slowly stood, she stared to Dr. Knightley with animalistic eyes. “Skylar.” Dr. Knightley took a step forward. “You’re alright.” She spoke and gave a nod. Dr. Knightley then quickly lunged forward and slammed a syringe into Skylar, she knew she wouldn’t have control over herself, so she’d injected her with a sedative.
Skylar snarled and ripped the needle from her skin, she slammed Dr. Knightley into the ground and swung at her. Dr. Knightly growled back and flipped Skylar onto her back. The two swung at each other getting in hard punches. Skylar kicked Dr. Knightley in the stomach, sending her flying back through the opening in the tent. She stumbled then, her breaths heavy, her fangs glistened in the light of the tent. She stared to Eva, her expression softened. “E-Eva…” She choked as she fell to her knees, trembling the sedative was beginning to take effect.

Eva stood, a blue form of herself… staring to her own body. During the attack at the village - she slipped from the Vampire’s body, leaving the original Eva in control. She shifted in her stance - watching Skylar closely as she transformed. As Skylar slammed Dr.Knightley away - Dr.Knightley flew through Eva’s glowing form, though no one could see her. She was a spirit… Eva turned and Lucille stood next to her, invisible to them as well.
“She will be okay” Lucille assured. Then Lucille stepped outside, waving Eva to follow. Something caught her attention. A crowd of humans came rushing down the mountain - guns and arrows at the ready. They were from the village that Eva had attacked, and came seeking the murderer. Or perhaps just to kill… just to say that they did something.
Ren turned to Ayla and grit her teeth. “We have to make sure Skylar is not disturbed” she spoke and then let out a howl. In an instant - several Lycans rushed forward, looking to the mountain as the humans came down. There was a gun fire - and in an instant Ren jerked her hand forward, her brass knuckle throwing the bullet off path, where it slammed into the ground. Ren looked to the Lycan she saved and then nodded. “Go” she shouted.
“They picked a bad night to storm us” Ren spoke and then looked to Ayla, her eyes glowing white as the moon now. “Don’t get hurt…” she whispered and then smiled. In an instant her body began to morph - her muscles growing, her height too. She turned into an all black wolf. Her coat was shiny and well kept, unlike some of the packs. She let out a deep warm howl and then rushed forward on all four.
Eva looked to Lucille and then turned for her body. She slipped into it with ease, the spell breaking as she entered. Eva jerked upward and looked to Skylar, who fell to her knees. Eva leaned down and wrapped her arms around her, lifting her up. “Sky” she whispered and then her head jerked to the side. A human entered the tent, a sword in hand. Eva ducked as she swung it - she kicked him down and then showed her fangs to him, almost hissing in a way. She set Skylar down on the bed and then teleported to the human, flinging him out of the tent, for him to fall down the mountain at his own leisure. As she stood outside for a brief second - she tried to count the humans. There were too many.. she teleported instantly as a bullet threatened her life. “We need to get Skylar out of here” she spoke and hurried back into the tent.

Ayla stared up at the mountain as the humans came storming down. “Ren wait!” She called but it was too late, she stared as Ren ran forward in wolf form. She then turned and rushed toward the tent. She knocked a human to the side with her elbow harshly. “Eva!” She called as she sprinted forward. The human that was inside attacking Eva was thrown from the tent as she came forward.
Skylar’s eyes fluttered, her breathing began to quicken. She drew her brows together, “Eva…” She groaned. A stray bullet came flying into the tent in that instant and struck Skylar’s arm. She looked down to the hole as blood leaked from her skin. Instantly a low growl came from her chest, her golden eyes glanced to Eva for a moment before she ran outside. She rushed the humans, her speed was incredible. Her nails lengthened, her ears tipped. Though she stayed in a human form. She snarled as she ran at the humans that rushed the village.
“Fire!!” A man ordered. Several men took aim at Skylar and pulled the triggers of their guns. The bullets sliced through the air and collided with her body. Holes cut through her clothing, she stopped dead in her tracks. A bullet had entered her skull, dead between her eyes. She looked to the men as they began to advance forward. The bullets began to back out of her skin, falling into the dirt as she let out a roar of anger. The leader of the men stared into Skylar’s eyes in horror. “Fire! Fire! Kill it!”
Skylar ran forward through a spray of bullets, a deep snarl came from her chest as she rushed forward with unimaginable speed. She gripped one of the men by his throat, her claws dug into his skin. She glared into his eyes as she squeezed his neck, choking him. A pain shot through her shoulder then which caused her to drop the man. Skylar reached over her shoulder and pulled a dagger from her back. She spun and slung the dagger then. It flipped through the air and caught the man in his throat. All of her senses were heightened. She could hear everything, feel everything. She spun around and slammed her fist into the face of a man before she leaped and ripped the guns from two other villagers. She snarled in their faces, causing them to scream and run away. Skylar rushed about ripping guns from the men. She slammed the leader into the ground as she transformed into her lycan form. She was much larger than any of the other lycans. She growled deeply and snapped at his neck, just inches from killing him. The man trembled as Skylar held him down she ripped his gun from his hands with her teeth and tossed it to the side. The leader scrambled to his feet and scurried off. Skylar howled and continued attacking the men. Slowly the predator inside of her began to take over. The animal instinct. She latched her teeth into the villagers throats, ripping the trachea from one man, another she jumped on his back and snapped his neck with her strong jaw. She continued on until every single human had either fled from this world or was dead.
When all was said and done Skylar stood in the middle of the camp, blood soaked into her fur. She howled at the moon and snarled as she licked the blood from her lips. Ayla stood at the tent, her jaw loose. She stepped forward with the lycans of the pack who now stood in a circle around the hybrid. Skylar circled around, snarling and snapping her jaws, the Skylar that they knew was not in control. She lunged forward and growled deeply. Her eyes snapped to Ayla as she came forward she growled and bared her teeth.
A light sound of an air powered rifle then sounded. A red feathery tranquilizer bolt stabbed into Skylar’s side. She howled and ripped it from her side with her teeth, the bold snapped in her jaw. Her golden eyes turned to Dr. Knightley whom held the rifle. Skylar snarled, licking the blood from her lips again as she took a step toward Dr. Knightley. The tranquilizer had no effect on her. Skylar’s eyes moved then as she caught a familiar scent. She stared to Eva, a soft whimper came from the hybrid then as she stepped toward her. Her bones began to snap and crack until Skylar was in front of Eva on her hands and knees in human form. She trembled and slowly stood, her body was covered in blood. She felt into Eva as her claws slowly receded and her tipped ears returned to normal. “Eva…” She whispered, her eyes fluttered. “You’re….okay….” She breathed.
Ayla watched in awe. She looked to the pack of lycans whom howled happily as they began to morph back into their human form. She looked around for Ren and found her, she grinned, glad to see she was okay. She then turned her attention back to Skylar and Eva, the bond they shared. She’d only seen a few vampires link with another, and this link was incredible. It gave control over Skylar, whom at this state in was completely uncontrollable. Dr. Knightley stared with the gun at her hip now, a grin on her lips. Eva linking herself with this hybrid had saved the entire camp. It was highly possible that Skylar could have ripped every last throat here, without even realizing it. Blind with rage, blind with the animalistic power that came with being a lycan or a vampire…

Eva gasped as Skylar was shot. She jumped forward as Skylar exited the tent with some sort of rage. Eva watched - completely amazed as the bullets landed into it, one after another. It didn’t not stop her… she looked to Dr.Knightley and then she ducked - a bullet flying forward. She grit her teeth and teleported away.
Eva gripped onto both of her daggers, rushing forward. A human fired his hand gun - but Eva teleported just as it should have hit. He gasped - staggering back. She slit his throat in one easy movement. With that she teleported to the next, ramming her dagger into his back - the dagger rubbed against his spine, a terrible cracking noise came from it. She pulled it out instantly and the guy fell to his knees in a gasping amount of pain. Eva quickly kicked his head to the side, breaking his neck…
She turned instantly, teleporting to a Lycan who was being over thrown by several humans. With insane - teleporting - speed, the three humans suddenly fell, their throats bleeding out. The Lycan turned to her and then rushed off on all four legs, chasing to the next human. Eva turned - seeing Skylar and her white coat shining in the distance. Watching her go… she was easily the most powerful Lycan the world would see. Whoever turned her… had no idea this would happen, surely.
As the humans retreated Eva teleported back to the camp site, where she assured that Dr.Knightley was safe. Dr.Knightley tossed down a bloody knife, a human falling before her. “Ah…” she smiled to Eva. Eva turned then just as Skylar made her way back… all the Lycans surrounded her in a circle, watching her… Skylar was easily almost twice their size… her muscles were bigger, in general… she was just better. Ren stood, a little bigger than her men - staring to Skylar. Skylar… was alpha.
Eva looked to Dr.Knightley, and then stepped away. She slipped between the Lycans and approached Skylar, who she could tell was hardly there. Eva approached the giant Lycan … her fur was matted and red… it was an amazing sight. Eva brought her hand up to Skylar… touching her fur. She let the fur slip between her fingers, her nails scratching slightly against her skin..
“Skylar” she spoke, looking directly up to her. No fear about Eva at all.. With that… Skylar submitted, transforming easily. As if it was meant to be. Eva stepped forward and grabbed Skylar, pulling her close. The Lycans surrounding were quiet, watching with their wolf eyes. Then Ren howled loudly. All at once their noses pointed to the sky, to the moon, howling to them. They all transformed back into humans. They still stood - watching… they looked to Ren then.. who moved slowly, kneeling onto one knee. “Skylar” she spoke bowing her head. “Our Alpha” then all of the other pack members kneeled.

Skylar leaned heavily against Eva, her body tired. She looked around at the lycans as they knelt before her. She then looked to Ren for a long moment, “Alpha…?” She muttered softly, she pulled from Eva’s arms and stumbled slightly, her body was exhausted. She turned and looked to the pack who looked to her in silence. She stepped forward to Ren, blood caked on her body. She stared into Ren’s eyes for a long moment, she glanced to the other lycans who watched her curiously. She then looked to the bodies of the humans that lay throughout the camp, “This is not who we are.” She spoke and shook her head. “I want what Ren wants, I want peace for lycans, vampires, and humans alike. Not this…this war.” She shook her head, she paused, fighting for control. Each moment that she felt she would lose control she looked to Eva and her posture would loosen. She then turned and grasped Eva’s hand she stared into her eyes for what felt like an eternity. “At dawn we must leave, my father is the leader of the human rebellion. I must speak with him.” She spoke and turned. She stepped away from Eva then and looked over the lycans that surrounded her. They watched her every move.
Suddenly something shot from the forest. A huge lycan bowled through the crowd of unsuspecting lycans and grabbed ahold of Skylar. It slammed her into the ground and growled deeply. It was the pure blood that changed her. He snarled as he held her down. Other lycans from his pack rushed the camp.
“No!” Ayla cried out. She rushed forward only to be knocked back by a lycan. She fought against it as it snapped its jaws at her throat.
Skylar snarled, her claws lengthened as she fought against the lycan. She gripped onto him and rolled, tossing him through the air to slam into the trunk of a tree. She growled and sprinted forward, her fist collided with his jaw, and then she gripped him around his throat. She stared into his eyes, her own full of hate. The lycan fought against her, choking. Something slammed into her hips, knocking her down to her back. Another lycan pinned her. The pure blood grabbed a hold of Skylar then and slammed her head into a boulder that was next to the base of the tree. The sound of her skull fracturing seemed to echo through the air. The pure blood snarled and grabbed a hold of her, dragging her off into the forest.
The other lycans fought for several minutes passed their leader leaving before they retreated. Ayla lay on her back, claw marks across her stomach that were slowly beginning to heal. Her fangs showed as she looked off to the lycans that scattered in all directions. “Where is Skylar?” She questioned as she looked for the beautiful white wolf. Ayla leaned against a beam as she looked down to the gashes in her legs that were bleeding. She had been attacked by two lycans at once, it was hard to keep up with them. She looked to a lycan that lay on the ground, it was still breathing as it transformed into its human form Ayla rushed forward and gripped a hold of him. “Where did they take her?” She hissed, her eyes cold. “Tell me!” She snapped and slammed him against a tree. She held up her pistol which was loaded with Skylar’s bullets. “I’ll kill you. Tell me.”
He gasped for air and writhed in her grip. “C-camp…” He choked out. “He…watched…her….transform…he….wants..to kill..her…” The lycan choked out.
“Where is your camp?!” Ayla snarled, she pressed her pistol hard into his neck. “Tell me.”
“To the west…” He whispered. “In the mountains…”
“What pack is he with?” She slammed him again.
“Blood…p-pack…” The lycan choked. “He just…joined us…with them…”
“Who is he?” She snapped.
“Ainsley.” The lycan then tried to escape.
Ayla slammed him against the tree before she unloaded three bullets into his body. She stared to him, her brows pulled together, her eyes an icy blue. She turned and looked to Ren. “The blood pack. Where are they?” She asked. “We need to get Skylar back before he kills her.” She grabbed her backpack and slung it over her shoulders.
“Ainsley…” A lycan stepped forward, he looked to Ren and then to Eva and Ayla. “He has a pack not far from here….he’s always up to no good. Our previous alpha kicked him from the pack along with a few of his companions because they were capturing humans and chasing them for game. His pack is just over that ridge there.” He pointed.
**
The lycan slammed Skylar into a cage as he morphed back into his human form. Ainsley stood with his hand gripping Skylar’s throat. “You were supposed to die.” He snarled and slammed her against the bars. She was unconscious, blood matted her hair on the side of her head where he slammed her into the boulder. He dropped her body to the floor and snarled. “Drain her.” He spoke, and with his order a man came forward and took Skylar into a medical room where he strapped her down to a bed. Ainsley followed, he smiled as he watched the doctor strap her head down with a metal tied. He then watched as the doctor inserted large bore needles into each of her arms. “We all need to drink from her blood, she is a hybrid.” He grinned, “I’ll have her power.” He licked his lips. He leaned forward, “Then I’ll kill that vampire of yours.” He whispered into her ear. He watched as the doctor flipped the switch to the machine, it began to pump, drawing out her blood.
Skylar’s eyes shot open, she tried to move but something about the bonds that held her down didn’t allow it. She moved her eyes to Ainsley and growled deeply.
“Don’t waste your energy dear.” He smiled and pat her head. “Enjoy the last hours of your pathetic life.” He grinned as he stepped from the room.
Skylar groaned as she felt her blood leaving her body. She strained against the bonds and looked around the room as much as she could. “Eva…” She whimpered, “I’ll kill him before he kills you…” She snarled then and thrashed against the device. Alarms began to sound as she fought against the machine.
Ainsley came running back into the room. He slammed his elbow against her skull harshly, knocking her back out. He growled and turned the knob on the machine to speed up the process. He moved and poured himself a small glass of her blood. He smelled it and grinned before her drank it. Ainsley tossed the glass as he left the room, allowing it to shatter on the floor. He made his way to his throne room.

Eva gasped as the giant Lycan appeared out of no where. She grit her teeth and rushed forward - but was instantly pinned by another Lycan. She looked up to the ugly beast. His teeth snarled at her - yellow and slightly worn. His matted fur smelled terrible, his eyes just as bad. She reached up and gripped his throat. The Lycan growled - but almost in a laughing manner. Eva looked him and then smirked to one side.
She teleported in an instant and was almost a hundred feet in the air. She threw him down and watched him fall. After a second she began to fall too. She pinned her arms to her body, her legs straightening out - she had her dagger in hand.. As she came to him at an insane speed - she pulled the dagger and slammed it into his back - she dragged the dagger down his body and then teleported. The Lycan landed on the ground - distracted by Eva.. in a splat, his blood splattering on the ground.
Eva turned just then - as Skylar was being taken by the Lycan. She turned, watching Ayla interrogate one of the men. Ren ran forward, looking towards them. “Men!” Ren shouted, waving her hand. “We get her back!” she shouted and transformed. Instantly the 20 or so Lycans all transformed and they ran forward. Ren led the pack, the scent of Skylar was strong.
“Ayla” Eva teleported next to her and grabbed her. “Lets go” she called out and teleported away. Eva traveled with the pack, keeping up with their insane speed with the aid of her teleportation powers. She had her hand on Ayla’s shoulder as they teleported one after another…
They skid to a stop at the camp. “Split into 3. Ayla, Ren, you three - with me. Go around back. Once the battle starts - send in the last pack a few minutes later” Eva spoke. Ren nodded and the men broke up quickly. They rushed forward, which they were greeting by well prepared Lycans.
Eva looked to Ren, who ran along with her. Ren rushed forward and pinned down the first Lycan, her furious sharp teeth ripped into his neck, ripping him apart. Before a Lycan could pounce her - Eva slammed into him, sending him forward. She dodged his snap of his jaws and then she pulled her dagger- slicing his stomach open. Then suddenly Ren’s jaws snapped into his throat, sending him down too. Eva looked to Ren and nodded.
They came to the next three that pounced forward. They all three pounced Eva, sending her down on the ground. She threw her head to the side, her arms moving against their strong bodies - a huge blast of purple body came from her palms. The three Lycans were thrown back by the blast, their fur burning slightly from the power. Eva teleported and looked to the other side of the structure - the second group had attacked. Along the roof and walls was the third, waiting to drop into the main area.
Eva squeezed her eyes shut - in that moment she knew exactly where Skylar was. She ran forward and grasped Ayla. “Come on” she spoke and teleported through the thick waves of Lycans. She got passed the gate and into the main room. “She’s in a room, strapped to some machine” she spoke and looked around. “Find her” she spoke. She could hear the clatter of Lycans behind her, headed to the courtyard…
A door bust open and a huge Lycan came through, grinning as he felt an immense power flowing through him. Eva grit her teeth and teleported with ease. The Lycan turned suddenly - searching for her. Eva yanked the needles from Skylar’s arms and held her up. “Sky - your powers. Use them” she spoke, gritting her teeth as she knew the Lycan was headed in…

Ayla rushed forward with the pack, her eyes glanced around as the Lycans came forward. She pulled her pistol and leaped into the air, she squeezed the trigger as she came down on top of one of the lycans. The bullet burned through his fur and he changed back into his human form, black lines crawling over his body. Ayla followed Eva and Ren closely. She pulled her dagger and ran forward, she was slammed into the wall by a lycan. Ayla grit her teeth as she lifted her hand and slit his throat. His blood sprayed across her face as she turned from beneath his grasp. She looked to Eva as she ordered her to find Skylar. “Of course.” She rushed forward, that was the moment that the lycan came bursting through the doorway. She looked to Eva just as she teleported away. Ayla took a step back as the Lycan snarled. She lifted her pistol and pulled the trigger to find that she was out of bullets. “Lovely…” She muttered as she holstered her gun, she held her dagger now as the lycan rushed toward her.
Ayla leaped to the side, she jumped and pulled the dagger along the lycan’s back, cutting deeply into his body. The lycan snarled and flipped around, he gripped ahold of her dagger and tossed it aside before he pinned her. His eyes were a frightening red. He gripped her throat as he transformed back into his human form. “Here for your friend?” He chuckled, it was Ainsley. “Shame a hybrid has to die so quickly.” He clicked his tongue, “At least I was able to drink her blood.” He smirked.
Ayla slipped from his grip and slammed her fist into his jaw. “You’re a cocky one.” She remarked as she pulled her bow and slipped an arrow into place. She released it. Ainsley dodged to the side with a snarl he ran forward and ripped her bow from her hands. Ayla turned and slammed him into the ground, she bashed the bow against the side of his head before she hooked her fist into the side of his head. The lycan fought against her and slammed her onto her back. Then his eyes widened, a strange look came over his face. He stood and backed up slowly. He coughed and held his throat. Ayla stood and drew her brows together as she watched. Shadows crawled from within his body. He let out a cry of pain as he stumbled backward. The shadows came from his mouth like smoke before engulfing his body. The sound of his bones cracking came from the shadows as they swarmed around him. Then suddenly the shadows disappeared inside of the lycan’s body. He fell limply to the ground in a heap, every bone in his body broken, every organ ruptured. Blood leaked onto the cement from every orifice of his body. Ayla stared down to him for a moment before she ran forward and leaped over his dead body. “Eva!” She cried, “Skylar!” She ran down a few halls. “Ren?!” She searched through the fortress. She sliced the throat of a lycan and slammed him against the wall as she continued her search.

Skylar let out a cry as Eva ripped the needles from her arms. She leaned heavily against Eva, her skin pale. She grit her teeth and took in quick breaths, her claws began to form and her ears lengthened. She took a step back from Eva as lycans rushed into the room. She rushed forward and slammed her hand into the abdomen of one of the men, he was in his human form. Her claws ripped through his flesh as she pushed into his body, she ripped his heart from his chest and looked to her hand. The organ beat a few times as he fell to the ground. She tossed it aside before she began to quarrel with another lycan. Skylar snarled as she pinned him against the wall, she ripped his dagger from his hands and slammed it into the side of his head. His skull crunched from the force before he fell to his knees, and finally he toppled to the floor lifelessly. Skylar turned, her fangs bared as she let out a growl as the door was pushed open to the room. She grabbed a hold of Ayla and slammed her against the wall. Ayla let out a cry from the force. Skylar snarled but then looked to Eva. She took a step back, her features then changed back to her human form. She collapsed to her knees on the floor, breathing heavily. “Ayla…Eva…” She whispered.
Ayla stared to Skylar for a moment, she then looked to Eva. She looked to the machine and the bottle of blood that had been drawn from Skylar. She rushed forward and kicked over the bottle, spilling the blood on the ground. Ayla then gave a nod to Eva. “We need to help the others.” She left the room to help Ren and the rest of the pack finish off Ainsley’s pack.
Skylar took in quick breaths, she shut her eyes tightly as she morphed into her wolf form. She whined to Eva before she took off after Ayla. She leaped through the air and caught a Lycan, ripping his throat out easily. She pinned down another and snapped his neck. Skylar snarled. She ran alongside Ren for a moment, her eyes looked to Ren and then back ahead as she slammed into the side of a lycan. They quarreled for a moment, snapping at each other until Skylar slammed it to the ground and bit into its back, severing the spinal cord. Eventually the bodies of Ainsley’s men lay around the fortress. Skylar stood in her wolf form, her breaths heavy, blood covered her, the white of her fur was hard to see beneath all of the red. She licked her lips and growled deeply. Ayla reloaded her pistol and shot a lycan as he tried to approach the pack that once again surrounded their Alpha. Skylar howled before she took off. She ran for miles on end, carving through the forest with the pack keeping up with her. Ayla ran alongside Ren, she grinned as she looked to Ren in wolf form. Simply beautiful.
Skylar scaled a mountain up into the snowy world. She paused a moment as she approached a huge building. Another hideout for the humans. She morphed to her hybrid form and leaned heavily against the building. She pushed the doorway open and stepped inside. This fortress would provide safety for the pack. Much better than the tents. She breathed heavily as she slipped into a bedroom and collapsed onto the bed. Her body couldn’t keep up. She had exerted so much energy. She had a hunger that she’d never felt before, it felt as though her body was eating itself alive.
Dr. Knightley stood in the huge room, she leaned against the doorway to the room that Skylar had collapsed in. “Eva, she needs blood.” She spoke and walked off, looking around the building that they would now call home.
Ayla glanced around the fortress. She looked to the lycans as they all began to morph back into their human forms, most of the men and women were exhausted. The sun was beginning to rise in the distance over the horizon. It had been a long grueling 24 hours. Ayla found Ren and smiled. “I used to play tag with my brother, when I was a child. I always loved running, sprinting.” She chuckled. “Now I can sprint forever.” She then glanced down, “I’m sure you need to rest.” She spoke with a smile.

Eva turned as she watched Skylar leave - she chased after her - watching each ruthless move. She was insanely powerful. She gasped as she watched Skylar yank out the heart of the lycan. Just then she ducked as Skylar tossed the Lycan like a bit of garbage out the car window. She turned then as they came to the courtyard. There was dead Lycans every where. This entire pack was demolished, they couldn’t stand a chance. As Ren came next to her - she grinned. “They picked the wrong fight.. huh?” she spoke and then looked to Skylar.
There was a loud howl in the air. Victory… she watched as they all howled together, and in an instant they were off. Bounding after their leader now. Ren turned her head, her hazel eyes looking to Ayla as she kept up. Ren gave a sort of wolf like chuckle and then bounded forward, sort of challenging Ayla..
Eva shut her eyes as she still stood in the courtyard. She could sense Skylar.. headed up the mountain. She let out a deep breath and in an instant she could see through Skylar’s eyes…She could see the bobbing of Skylar’s vision as she ran, her vision looking from side to side as she could hear and sense things. With a little more concentration - those senses came through. Eva could smell the pine sap thick in the air, the scent of other creatures… a bear had been through this area recently.. then something else… The sounds were intense too.. the crunch of snow under their paws was like a patter of drums in the distance, the waving of trees… it was crisp and clean…
Eva came back to herself, taking in a deep breath. She squeezed her eyes shut and teleported to Skylar. She landed on Skylar’s back, she straddled her legs around her and held onto her bloodied fur… as they came to the building the pack slowed down, some even transformed back. Skylar leaped off her back and held the door open for them. As they entered Eva lead Skylar to a chair. “Sit” she spoke, her eyes glancing to Dr.Knightley..
She smiled and brushed away a bit of matted down hair from Skylar’s eyes and then she disappeared. She was back in an instant with a bag of blood. “Drink up..” she spoke and then stood infront of her. “You did good” she whispered and then placed her hand on her shoulder. “Lets get you cleaned up…” she spoke, helping her up.
Within minutes the generator kicked on, the lights flicked on and the crew found themselves a spot. Within minutes there was a slight dog pile of guys and girls- laying their heads on each other. Out like a light. Eva tossed Ayla a bag of blood and nodded. “Get some rest… see if maybe you can get Dr.Knightley on board with the synthetic blood… we are running low of bags” she spoke and then led Ayla to the showers.
She undressed her and helped her in, the water running hot. She too was undressed, they both stood in the falling water. Eva touched the tile of the shower and the little room transformed. Instead of a shower they stood in a small pool of water - warm hot water fell from a small waterfall… the world around them was full of flowers, and trees that covered them. Eva brought her hand up and rubbed it against Skylar’s skin. The blood dissolved into the water, coming off her body with ease.
She helped wash her and then she kissed her sweetly. “I’m proud of you” she whispered and wrapped her arms around her, letting the hot water fall over their heads. “You’re also… totally a badass” she whispered and chuckled slightly. When they were done she turned the knobs off, the little world disappeared and they were back in the shower.
Eva helped her out. She managed to find a spare set of clothes for her… she led her to a spare room, where they climbed into bed. Eva spoon her as they lay there. “So… your dad is going to freak.. huh” she spoke and then chuckled. She nuzzled into her - and then was out like a light.. ** Ren looked to Ayla and then smiled. “If you like tag… then this is the crew for you… we are Lycans but we are kids at heart.. we play games, prank each other.. its all family here” she spoke and then wrapped her arm around Ayla. “You’re apart of it now… even if you are a vampy” she spoke and then chuckled. She moved her arm away and then she smiled. “You did really good today, I was very impressed…” she smiled and then nodded. “I will.. really like to hear more about your child hood days… but - I think I’m going to hit the hay.. I did lose my alpha title and all” she winked and then laughed. “It is well deserved though. I would follow Skylar to the ends of my life” she then paused and then nodded. “and you too… if you ever need me.. just whistle..I’ll come running” she smiled and then leaned forward - planting a kiss on her cheek. Ren then slipped away to one of the rooms to curl up on a cozy bed…
** When morning came the Lycans were bustling, ready to go. The place was cleaner than they arrived, tidy and ready. Breakfast as cooked for all, as a Lycan had killed a deer and they baked it up with ease. She had no idea when they did that… but it was done. As they entered the room the pack grew silent, nodding their head to their Alpha… and her mate. Eva smiled weakly…

Ayla grinned and chuckled, “I’ve always been the fastest.” She winked, “Though it looks like I have my work cut out to keep up with you.” Ayla gave a sweet smile, “Of course, I won’t forget that.” She spoke just before Ren kissed her cheek. Ayla turned away as Ren left, her cheeks a light pink. She shook her head and grabbed the blood pack from Eva, she sank her fangs into it and drank deeply from the membrane. She found herself a room and as soon as her head hit the pillow she was out.
**
The whole thing, the shower, drinking the blood, everything felt like a dream to Skylar. The world that Eva created around them, was gorgeous, Skylar’s eyes moved around, taking in the scenery, the flowers. She leaned into Eva, her body was exhausted, achy. Everything happened so quickly. It was a white hot flash every time she changed into her lycan form, and then, it was fuzzy. It was hard to remember what she’d done. Running here. Coming to the fortress. It was instinctual to get away. They were much closer to the rebellion now, closer to her father. Just a day’s hike away now. She could only imagine how angry her father would be. Skylar snuggled into Eva, she traced along her cheek and stared at her in the dim light of the room. Her mind was racing. She thought of every possible reaction her father would have, until finally she drifted off to sleep. Though her dreams were full of nightmares...and memories…
Skylar stood on the bridge, she was young, she had a pack over her shoulders, goggles upon her head. It was the first time she’d snuck out to help Ren. She was only 16 or so. She’d fought with her father hours before about this. He’d told her that there was no hope for the vampires or the lycans, that all she would end up doing was get hurt. That the medical supplies were scarce and shouldn’t be given to the enemy. Skylar though, was rebellious. He’d taught her to fight. He’d taught her to be everything that she could be, and with that, he’d taught her a charitable attitude. Though, Mavis never dreamed that Skylar would use such charity to help lycans. Skylar looked back to the main entrance into their underground world, she looked to the concrete and took in a deep breath. She turned and ran into the chest of Booker. He gripped her and looked down to her. “Sky, where are you going? What’s all this?” He pulled at her pack.
“Back off Booker.” She took a few steps back. She had her pistols on her thighs and a leather jacket on to keep her warm. “I’m just running some supplies up to the other settlement, a few hours down the road.”
“In the middle of the night? I find that hard to believe.” He reached forward and grabbed her backpack handle.
Skylar slammed her elbow into his arm. “I need to do this!” She spoke as she took off in a sprint.
Booker chased after her, “Sky! Wait!” He cried. Skylar sprinted to the barn where they held their vehicles. She pulled the key from her pocket to her father’s military motorcycle. She climbed onto it and clicked the key into place. “Skylar!” Booker grabbed her hand, he stared into her eyes as she gasped. “I’m not letting you do this alone.” He released his grip on her hand. “I’m coming with you, I’ll stay back, but…” He turned and grabbed two radios. “Anything happens, you need to hit this distress button so I can help…hopefully…” He shook his head. “Your father is going to kill me.” He lifted the helmet and handed it to her. “Let’s go.” He climbed onto his bike.
Skylar stared at Booker for a long moment before she pulled down her goggles and strapped the helmet to her head. She kicked the motorcycle on and gave a nod before she took off into the night. The motorcycle roared down the roads to the next city where she’d agreed to meet up with Ren. She slowed as they came to the edge of town. “Let me go alone Booker.” She called to him before she sped ahead. Skylar sped into the sleeping town and drove to the park that Ren had stated in the letter she would meet Skylar. Skylar drove right up into the park and cut the engine of the motorcycle. She climbed off and pulled her helmet from her head before she lifted the goggles up and glanced around.
“I’m surprised you showed.” Ren’s voice came from the darkness as footsteps approached. “Alone.” She had two lyans with her. A smile on her lips, intrigued by this human.
Skylar turned and stared at Ren, she pulled her pack from her back and opened it. “I promised you, and I didn’t want to let you down.” She pulled a large bag from the pack, it was full of all types of medicine and other supplies.
Ren grinned then, “Thank you, Skylar Greystoke.” She took the bag and handed it to one of her men. She then extended her hand out. “I promise to return the favor, if you ever need it.”
Skylar shook her hand and gave a nod. “If there is anything I can do, I will help you.” She looked over her shoulder, she could feel Booker watching from a distance.
“He’s on the street corner, poor boy doesn’t think I can smell him.” Ren chuckled. “He’s only protecting you.” She looked to a light that turned on in one of the homes then. “We will be in touch, Skylar.” She turned and ran off with the two men that were with her, disappearing into the forest.
Skylar stood still for a long moment, staring off into the forest. She climbed back on her motorcycle then and let out a deep sigh. All she wanted was for the war to end, for lycans, vampires, and humans to live peacefully.
The next morning Skylar followed Eva to the smell of the delicious food. She grinned when they entered the room, her senses overwhelmed. She stepped forward and made herself a plate. “This is fantastic!” She exclaimed. One of the male lycans chuckled as he watched his new alpha chow down. She stood after the meal, everyone once again grew silent. “This place is our haven, it will be where we stay now, we have a lab.” She nodded to Dr. Knightley whom grinned back to her, she’d already found the lab. “Ayla, the serum that you’ve been working on, we need to perfect it.” She looked over the lycans. “I don’t want us venturing out far from our camp, we must hunt in packs of no less than four, no more than six. We can’t draw too much attention to ourselves. Our smell will be all over the dead lycans. I’m sure there are more where that came from…” She took in a breath and looked to Ren. “Ren, you will be in charge while I am gone. I am taking Eva with me…I must go speak with the leader of the human rebellion, we are going to need every gun we can get to win this war. Make this place your home.” She nodded the lycans cheered happily. They’d been moving around tents and camps for so long it was nice to have concrete walls to protect them.
Skylar stepped from the room, she walked outside on a balcony and overlooked the mountains, looking in the direction of her home. She drew her brows together as Ayla approached. “You want me to stay here?” She asked, surprised.
Skylar turned and held her hand up, listening, focused. “Do you smell that?” She asked, curious.
Ayla stopped for a moment, focusing, she shook her head and let out a laugh. “You’re just not used to your powers, Skylar.” She pat her shoulder. “You don’t want me to accompany you?”
“No…” Skylar shook her head, she glanced along the world around them. She swore something was there. “I need you to work with Dr. Knightley, create that serum.” She gave a nod. “Don’t give up. Devote your time to it. There is an excellent lab here. That’s why we are here.” She nodded as she headed back in. She grasped Eva’s hand and pulled her to the bedroom. She gave Eva a gentle smile. “I’m nervous.” She whispered as she turned and began packing things into her backpack. “My father is going to be furious.” She muttered softly. “I’m honestly not sure exactly how he will react…but I can guarantee you that he will be very….very angry…he has always hated me going on expeditions. He’s screamed at me since I was a little girl…” She let out a soft chuckle. “I guess…he was right, wasn’t he?” She sighed and shook her head. “I’m not dead, but I’m not…” She paused and took in a deep breath. “Human.” Skylar looked to Eva for a long moment. “Come on, let’s go before I change my mind.” She stepped from the room. “It’s about 8 hours from here on foot, we should make it by dusk, if not a bit before that…hopefully we don’t run into…..” She paused as she caught the strange smell again as she stepped outside. She glanced around and listened. “I really need to get used to my senses…” She shook her head and continued on. “I’m stealing my motorcycle as soon as we get to my home.” She let out a laugh. “It’ll make our day travel a lot faster, and a lot less tiring.” She grinned then as she grasped Eva’s hand and pulled her along through the snow, headed north.
