Adrian struggled as Sylvia helped her up the hill. “I’m not sure what’s happening to me.” She leaned against the wall of the cavern as Sylvia shocked the wall causing the lights to come on. She grinned briefly, though shocks of the red sparks went across her body again. She staggered a bit and then regained herself. Her pulse raced, it was as though her heart wanted to escape from her chest. Adrian used the wall of the cavern as she moved forward. “Lunafreya….” She began her brows pulled together. “She’s one of the elder mages. There are only a few of the elders left in the world. She performs holy magic, she can heal and cleanse the soul.” Adrian grit her teeth slightly and paused in her steps. Her breathing was a bit more jagged than it had been. “She is very wise, and very….”
“Who’s there?” A voice echoed through the caverns. There was a pause, “Adrian, is that you? Who’s with you?” The voice sounded far away.
Adrian gasped slightly as bolts of red electricity dashed over her body, her eyes lit with the red energy for a moment. “Yes…it’s me. I have another mage with me…”
“The daughter of Sylvanas.” The voice spoke, “You know the way.”
Adrian pushed forward. “Did I mention she was a very wise mage?” She gave a slight chuckle. She blinked a few times, her eyes returned to silver and then melted back to her emerald green color. “The world has so much to offer, that you’ve yet to see, yet to discover even.” She looked to Sylvia. “Come on.” She slipped into a thin passage that she had to shimmy sideways into. As they came through it they were met with another hallway that the lights glowed dimly in. At the end of the hallway a wooden door could be seen, the flicker of the light of lanterns could be seen beneath the crack of the door. As they approached the door opened, though no one stood behind it. Adrian tensed as the red bolts returned, sparking into her eyes once again. She stumbled.
As she stumbled forward she fell into the arms of a woman that wore grey robes. The robes were lined with fur to keep her warm. She had long black hair and eyes that were silver like Adrian’s. The woman had necklaces of beads about her neck and beads woven into her hair. She didn’t look as old as Adrian spoke of her to be, though she was quite old, over a 100 years. “Adrian dear…” She held onto her, hugging her to her body. “What’s happened to you?” She pulled her over to a pallet and lay her on it. Lunafreya searched Adrian’s eyes, watching the bolts of electricity jump about within her iris. She placed her hand on the side of Adrian’s head. Adrian let out a whimper as Lunafreya’s hand began to glow with a beautiful white light. Lunafreya’s eyes glowed white as well. Adrian’s eyes sparked madly, her body tensed. Lunafreya sat back after a moment, she looked to Sylvia. “You brought her back to life, didn’t you?” She stood from Adrian’s side. Adrian lay on the pallet breathing heavily, the sparks rushed over her body.
Lunafreya smiled then as she looked to Sylvia. “Sylvanas was just as incredible as you are.” She spoke. “The things she could do.” She then moved and grabbed a few bottles from a cabinet. “You see the trouble is, you reunited her soul with her body, and it seems a demon tried to extract it.” She walked back over and then lifted Adrian’s shirt. She’d found the wound. Darkness crawled out from where the mage patched up the wound. “The blade that demon used had something on it…it was more than just a blade.” She pondered for a moment.
Adrian grit her teeth. “Please don’t…we don’t have time....” She breathed. She slammed her head back on the pallet as Lunafreya did the exact opposite. She began combining herbs and laying the substance over the wound. Adrian let out a few whimpers of pain.
“What is it that you don’t have time for?” Lunafreya looked to Adrian, her brows pulled together. “What is it that you would rather risk your life for?”
“Elias…the demon took over his body.” Adrian spoke, her voice filled with pain. Bolts of electricity shot over her body and she tensed and lay back. With each rush of electricity her body jolted. Just as it had jolted when Sylvia shocked her back to life.
Lunafreya took in a slow even breath. “So the Grand Master needs me to separate the demon from him.” She spoke and stood. “That can wait.” She spoke and then grabbed a few more herbs. “Your soul cannot wait, Adrian.” She placed her hand on Adrian’s cheek again. Adrian let out a cry as bolts rushed over her body. Lunafreya held her there, the bolts zipped about. Adrian’s eyes filled with the red electricity. The old mage didn’t let up until the electricity disappeared. She removed her hand, leaving Adrian breathless.
Lunafreya gave a gentle smile to Sylvia. “Give her a few minutes, she’ll be good as new.” She spoke as she poured two glasses of tea and offered one to Sylvia. “Her soul is intact, yet, separated. I’m curious to see what she is capable of now that I have bound her soul back to her body properly. I imagine she will have new abilities. That demon tried to poison her, yet you shocked that demon from her body. Your energy entered her, that is why you see the sparks running in her eyes.” She glanced to Adrian. “The red of the energy is from the demon…” She then looked back to Sylvia. “You’ve been bonded with Azeralite, haven’t you?” She questioned. This mage had a way of knowing things. Feeling things. The elders had their ways. This is why she was kept so far away safely from the world. Her power was seemingly endless.
It was a bit later that Adrian regained consciousness. She sat up slowly. The red energy was gone from her body. Though within the silver of her eyes bolts of electricity still played about in the background. “We need to get to Elias.” She spoke and looked to Lunafreya.

Sylvia looked to Lunafreya with wide eyes – she knew right away who she was. Who was this person? Sylvia followed Adrian through the tight space, emerging towards the door of Lunafreya’s home. She shut the door behind her and watched carefully. This mage seemed so fluid, she moved like a freely rushing river… her words were like soft velvet upon the smoothest skin. Something about her was so mysterious and beautiful… Sylvia couldn’t help but be in utter awe of her.
“She’s right Adrian…” Sylvia spoke as she stepped towards Adrian, watching as Lunafreya tended to the wound. “We need you too… I am sure Lunafreya can manage…” she squeezed her brows together. “Did I do this? When I brought her back?” she questioned.
Lunafreya turned to her with soft eyes and then looked back to Adrian. “Not quite… Do not blame yourself, this is the demon’s doing. If anything… you have become closer to Adrian… Your jewel is empty…” she pointed to Adrians necklace. “The Azeralite is with you, that power had bonded with her, and now resides in you… you two could become quite the duet of power. You are closer than you think… see if you can try and use that to your advantage.. hm?” she smiled then and held the tea cup to Sylvia.
“Thank you” she accepted the tea and sipped on it. “So you knew my mother?” Sylvia questioned.
“Who didn’t know your mother, my dear?” Lunafreya smiled. “The storm that protects me was created by your mother, she was a very powerful woman. If the world could be half as kind as she was – we would be in a different place.” Lunafreya’s eyes watched Adrian…
“But why hole yourself away?” Sylvia questioned. “You are so powerful…”
“Yes… but I cannot carry the world on my back… I have my own life to live, my own dreams to reach. I… served my time with the Circle, I helped save the world, and now I retire here” she chuckled. “you’ll soon understand, once you do it too. Being who you are… it is a difficult and daunting task. No one can fault you for making a personal decision. Remember that your life is your own… understand?”
“My life has only just begun..” Sylvia spoke, sipping on her tea.
“You will do well…” Lunafreya smiled. “When you are finished… come back and see me. I would love to tell you more stories of your mother…. I know that you didn’t get to really know her. I can sense that loss in your heart, you long for that connection to her…” she smiled then and picked up a pendant. She brought it to her lips and kissed it – the pendant glowed gently for a moment. “When you are feeling lonely, or at a loss, grasp this pendant and think of her. One of my memories will come to you… but be sure you are in a safe place, okay?” she handed the small gem to her.
“Thank you… Lunafreya…” she accepted the necklace and placed it about her neck.
“Magic is a very… emotional experience. You must keep yourself at balance. Have a goal, if it is to learn more of your mother – make that your drive. Save the world on the side…” she winked. “otherwise your balance will be thrown off, you will be doing things for all the wrong reason, and that is where mages lose themselves… It is why, at the end, your mother was a much greater mage than her lover, Murdoc…” Lunafreya looked to Adrian. “ah, you are all better… good, we must get to Elias, hm?”
Lunafreya stepped to a full body mirror and then placed her hand on it. In an instant the reflection changed – one could see right through it, into the Mage tower, looking directly at the Grand Master. In that second the Grand Master turned, looking directly back. “Ah, Lunafreya, Adrian, Sylvia… come on” he stepped forward and offered his hand.
The Grand Master’s hand slipped through the mirror – reaching out to Lunafreya. Lunafreya looked to them and nodded. “Hold on now…” she held her hand out to Sylvia. In reaction – Sylvia held her hand out to Adrian. The Grand Master’s eyes glowed, he made the connection between the two areas, and pulled them through….

Adrian took Sylvia’s hand and stepped through the mirror into the tower. She shivered slightly as she slipped her hand from Silvia. The Grand Master stepped forward. “What’s happened?” He asked as he noted the red static in Adrian’s eyes.
“I’m fine, Grand Master. Where is Elias?” Adrian asked as she brushed his hand from her shoulder.
“We have him downstairs.” The Grand Master looked to Lunafreya a moment, his brows drawn together. “Come then, there’s no time to waste.”
They headed to the platform where they teleported into the dungeons of the tower. The air smelled slightly damp. Adrian stepped forward and pushed open a door. She paused a moment as she walked into the room. Elias lay on a bed, his arms and legs strapped down. His body had a layer of ice over. They’d frozen him, until Lunafreya’s arrival. Adrian stepped to his side and looked him over. “Lunafreya you can save him, right?” She asked.
Lunafreya stepped forward she gave a gentle smile. “I will do my best, stop your worrying.” She took in a breath, “Let’s get him warmed back up, hm?” She nodded to the Grand Master.
A mage stepped forward and held his hand out, a fiery color began to surround Elias and the ice began to slowly melt away. His muscles twitched as he was brought back. His eyes opened and he almost immediately looked to Adrian. “Adrian…what are you…doing…here…” He grit his teeth.
Adrian took a step forward, “It’s okay Elias.” She spoke and placed her hand on his shoulder. The red sparks ran down her arm that touched him, she staggered slightly.
Lunafreya pulled Adrian back. “Do not touch the demon.” She spoke her voice low.
A cackle came from Elias as he transformed back into his demonic form. “What’s the matter mage?” He asked, his eyes fiery red. “Adrian you look ill.” He snickered.
Adrian took in a sharp breath. She held onto her side, blood began to spill from the wound that Lunafreya patched. The sparks in her eyes grew more intense.
Lunafreya rushed forward and held her hands out, she began speaking an old ancient dialect. Her eyes began to glow. Runes began to appear on her arms and hands glowing a bright white. The demon snarled and snickered as he thrashed against the shackles that held him down. “I’ll take her with me!!” He growled. Lunafreya shut her eyes, focusing over the shouts from the demon.
Julius rushed to Adrian as she staggered and fell to her knees. “Adrian!” He knelt in front of her, holding her shoulders. “Adrian!! Look at me!” He stared into her eyes, darkness swarmed within her eyes mixed in with the red energy. Blood began to leak from her nose. “Adrian snap out of it!” He shook her slightly.
The demon cackled from the table. “You’re too late.” He said in a sneer as he writhed.
Julius grit his teeth. “Come on…Adrian don’t let him take you.” He cupped her cheek. “Look at me.” He spoke. Adrian’s eyes returned to normal for a moment, her brows pulled together, a whimper came over her lips just before her eyes rolled back and her body tensed. Her jaw tightened and in the next moment she fell loosely to the side. Julius caught her and lay her on the cold stone floor. The room fell silent all except the whispers of Lunafreya.
Julius stared at Adrian, his breath caught in his chest. The empty Azeralite jewel began to glow dimly, a deep blood red. Slowly the color began to brighten as the jewel filled with color. Julius began to reach forward but his hand was caught. “If you’re wise, Julius, you’ll leave her be. Do not touch her.” Lunafreya spoke. “She must go through this.” She looked to Adrian whom trembled in her unconscious state.
“Lunafreya…” Julius took in a breath. “I…don’t understand…” He glanced back.
The Grand Master was unlocking the shackles from Elias. Speaking with him. Elias looked as if he hadn’t slept in weeks. Lunafreya took in a breath. “The demon did this.” She spoke and looked over Adrian. “She’s strong, she will fight her way out.” She placed her hand on Julius’ shoulder.
**
Adrian stood in darkness. Screams echoed through the world around. Flames flashed. It was hotter than a summer day. She spun around when she heard something from behind her. The world began to melt into visibility. She stood on cracked black ground, lava ran around her on either side in rivers. “Feel at home?” The demon’s voice spoke. “Welcome.” He appeared before her a snicker escaped from his lips. “Don’t look so shocked.” He grinned.
Adrian grit her teeth as she looked around, soldiers appeared from ashes. The eyes of the soldiers glowed red. “What is this?” She snapped.
“You’re dead.” The demon smirked.
“No…I…” Adrian looked to the creatures that crawled from the lava pits.
The demon stepped forward, “Adrian, you can’t go back.”
“I will.” She looked to him, her eyes filled with the red sparks. She rushed forward and slammed her elbow into the side of his head, knocking him down easily. She pinned him. “You can’t stop me.” She spoke.
The demon chuckled. “This should be entertaining.” He snapped his fingers. The soldiers then turned and began converging on her. He disappeared from beneath her.
Adrian scrambled to her feet. She pulled her pistol and her dagger. With one hand she let shots ring landing perfectly between the eyes of the demons. The other she sliced into the armor. Blood splattered on her, the blood was thick and black. Nothing like the blood of humans. She shot the last one and suddenly the demon appeared and sliced into her again he snickered as she stumbled back. “I poisoned you.” He slammed her against a wall, driving the blade deeper. “You can’t escape.” He whispered into her ear.
Adrian brought her pistol as he disappeared again. Another round of demons began to rush her. Adrian stumbled, she felt suddenly weak. The demon chuckled, he stood on a ledge, watching from above. She sliced at the demons. This time her movements weren’t as fluid. The soldiers piled in, with each one she killed, two more seemed to replace it until she was buried beneath them.
**
“We have to do something!” Julius spoke, “Lunafreya do something.” He stared to Adrian with worried eyes. A red glow surrounded her body. Blood leaked from her nose as her muscles twitched from her movements in the other realm.
Lunafreya looked to Julius. “We cannot help her, Julius.” She spoke and looked back to Adrian. “We can only hope that she will push through.” She drew her brows together as she watched Adrian. The uneven breaths suddenly stopped, the red glow released from her body. Lunafreya held Julius back. “Don’t.” She spoke. “Just wait.”
“She’s going to die.” Julius growled. “She’s going to die and we are just standing around!”
Suddenly the red light swirled around Adrian, flames swirled around her and her body was lifted up off of the ground.
**
Adrian burst from the demons, the lot of the them turned to ashes around her from the burst of power. She stood, horns curled from her head, a darkness was marked around her eyes. She leaped forward with ease and gripped the demon around his neck. Her ears even had tips. She stared into his eyes, the red static made up most of her eyes now. Slowly the demon crumbled and turned to ash in her hands.
**
As the flames slowed Adrian’s feet touched the floor. She took in quick breaths. She stood in this form. The black horns curled back from the sides of her head. Her ears poked through her chocolate brown hair. The darkness ran from her eyes like it was melting down her cheeks. Adrian’s eyes flashed with the red static as she looked forward. The jewel upon her chest glowed a bright red. The red static ran down her arms as she looked to Lunafreya.
The old mage stepped forward. “Adrian.” She spoke and cupped her cheek. Adrian looked to her, her breaths quick. The red glow surrounded her body and her features returned to normal after a few moments. Adrian fell forward into Lunafreya’s arms. The old mage stumbled slightly.
“Is the demon in her mind too?” Julius asked, “What’s happening to her?”
“It’s very, interesting.” Lunafreya spoke and gave a nod. “I’m not able to answer your question, Julius.” She carefully adjusted Adrian and allowed Julius to take her.
Adrian’s eyes fluttered slightly. She looked up to Julius. “What happened…?” She asked she looked to Lunafreya. “Elias?” She asked.
“He’s fine, he’s with the Grand Master. I heard something about the king, we can catch up with him.” She nodded. “How do you feel?”
Adrian took in a breath. “Different.” She spoke softly. She shifted in Julius’ arms. She slipped from his grip and stood. She took in a breath. “I feel stronger…” She looked to her hands, red static swirled around the tips of her fingers. She grinned slightly. She then looked around. “We should check on Elias…maybe he knows something? If the king is summoning demons to hunt the mages, he can’t be up to anything good.” She spoke as she stepped over to the portal and teleported to the grand master’s office.

“Sylvia” The Grand Master entered the room, just as Elias was cured… he waved them both into the next room, his eyes lingering on Adrian, as she was experiencing her nightmare. Sylvia stood and slipped away, her foot steps following the grand master.
The old wizard turned and held a letter out to her. “What do you make of this?” he questioned. Sylvia reached forward and took the letter, opening it up…
The remaining Talisman has been located in the mines of Talador. Squad Alpha Minor is headed to retrieve. Please advise orders…
“Talisman…” Sylvia whispered. “The Talismans of Nekros… I know my father had 3 of them, but they are useless without the fourth…” she took in a deep breath “I never knew exactly… what that even meant, but now things are beginning to add up for me…”
“Nekros… The Talismans that he sealed his soul into?” The Grand Master question aloud. “Nekros was an old Necromancer, who had the ability to raise huge armies from the dead… this could be a truly… terrible thing.” He took a deep breath. “We must retrieve that talisman before the king does. This letter was intercepted, there for those troops will be waiting for his orders, but not for too long…” he paused and then squeezed his brows together. “Lets check on Adrian…”
They came back into the room, just in time to see Adrian turn into her demonic form. The Grand Master watched closely, his eyes glancing to Elias. Once everyone was calm once more… the Grand Master cleared his throat. “We have a real situation… The King is preparing a squad to retrieve the remaining Talisman of Nekros. This could bring the return of the Lich King, ruler of the dead… This is not something we want… at all… we must retrieve the Talisman. Are you well enough to continue?” he questioned, his eyes looking terribly worried….
“Lich King?” Sylvia questioned.
Lunafreya turned to her and then sighed softly. “Almost 500 years ago, back in the Imperial ages… Our lands were ruled by the Lich King, Nekros – the Necromancer. He could bring back the dead, create abominations out of the dead… we became an icy wasteland, it was… awful. That is when the Circle was founded, and we repelled the Lich King…”
“I don’t understand, why don’t we fight now?” Sylvia questioned.
“Well, the Circle has much power, more than typical humans might hold. If we were to get involved in every engagement, we would equally become as corrupt as the others. We must… pick and choose our battles, for the Gods watch us closely” she then looked to the Grand Master. “But now it is time, the King is dabbling in affairs he knows nothing of. We cannot let the Lich King return….” LunaFreya crossed her arms then…

Adrian looked to the Grand Master, “I agree with Lunafreya, we can’t just sit back and idly watch this happen. We’ve sat back for too long allowing the king to cause pain and suffering, this would no doubt bring upon death and destruction to the entire kingdom, and it would spread like a plague as it did before.” She spoke.
Lunafreya nodded, “The Lich King cannot come back, I will return from my retirement, to aid in this cause.”
Julius looked to Lunafreya a moment and then to Adrian. “And what do we make of what just happened? Are you going to turn on us Adrian?” He asked.
Adrian looked to him, her eyes sparked. “I’m not possessed.” She spoke, “If that’s what you’re asking, Julius.” She crossed her arms.
Lunafreya smirked and then chuckled slightly. “I believe Adrian and Sylvia should go, their magic combined shall be something worth reckoning. We must fortify the tower, and prepare for the worst. Our wards will not hold off an army like the Lich King can rise.” She turned to Adrian then and gave a gentle smile. “You overcame the demon’s poison and became something more.” She nodded then, “Your mother would be proud of you. I’ve never seen a mage take on such attributes.”
Adrian took in a breath she slowly nodded. “Thank you Lunafreya.” She spoke softly. She then glanced to Sylvia. “Talador then?” She asked. Adrian’s eyes were full of magic.
Elias stepped forward. “Adrian…” He spoke and searched her eyes. “Be careful.” He placed his hand on her shoulder. “I thought myself to be untouchable…and the king did horrible things to me…” He looked away. “He forced me to raise that demon…and he used me to help him find the talisman.”
Adrian stepped to him and wrapped her arms around him. She hugged him for a long moment. “We are all vulnerable. But, I must go, if we allow the king to rise the necromancer…” She paused and shook her head. “Nothing will be left to fight for.” She then turned and stepped from the room. Adrian walked out onto the balcony and whistled. She glanced to Sylvia. “It will be a few days of travel to get there, Talador is far in the south. Nearly at the other end of the continent.” She spoke just as Ullr landed. “All we can do is hope that we beat his men to the talisman.” She then placed her hand on Ullr’s snout as he nuzzled her. “Alright my friend.” She spoke and smiled to him. He lifted her up onto his back and then Sylvia. Adrian grabbed her goggles and lowered them just before they shot into the sky.
Adrian leaned into the wind as they cut through the caverns, leaving the tower behind. The cold mountain air began to warm as they flew through the skies. The snowy landscape below turned green with the rolling foothills. Adrian looked over the skies, her mind wandered. She’d heard many stories of the Lich King. All of the stories were nightmarish. Nothing good would come from rising Nekros. The sun began to set as Ullr’s wings flapped in the wind. He let out a playful chortle as he dipped beneath the clouds and moved about fluidly in the skies. Adrian chuckled and pat his scales. She smiled as they weaved about. The smile then slowly melted away from her expression. Her reasoning for leaving the Circle had much to do with this. Though, she was glad the grand master finally didn’t have a choice but to go after the king…but it pained her to think that Nekros was what brought him to agree. She’d fought with him on several occasions about it. If he wanted to put them in danger over other menial tasks, but he wouldn’t allow her to go after the king. One of the runs he’d sent her on just before she left the circle nearly killed her.
They dipped down from the clouds and swooped down, the moon was rising in the skies now. Adrian slid from Ullr’s back as they landed. They were just outside of a city called Joselin, it was a medium sized city. The sounds of music could be heard from within. Adrian glanced to Sylvia. “What else is the king after?” She asked, her voice soft. “If he wants to raise a necromancer…what else does he want?”

Sylvia climbed onto the giant frost dragon, and they shot into the sky. When he made dips, quick turns – playing in the air – Sylvia squeezed tightly, and even yelped in the motion of the tossing. When the ride was over – she let out a sigh of content, her boots landing onto the ground…
Sylvia glanced to Adrian as she questioned the King’s motives, she thought for a long moment and then sighed softly. “I… he is not mentally sound. He thinks that everyone is out to get him, and all those who disagree should be killed. So… I imagine he wishes to just destroy all that oppose him. I… I don’t know why he is so crazy…” she shook her head. “I think I was always just a opportunity for him, the only reason he kept me alive was for that experiment. I cannot imagine the frustration, I am surprised that scientist is still alive.” She glanced to Adrian.
“You’ve been through a lot today…” it was then that were was a sudden explosion. Sylvia turned her head towards the city – fire plumed into the sky. She grit her teeth and blue sparks began to cross her body. “I guess it doesn’t end now…” she looked to Adrian. “I bet you those are my fathers soldiers. We either fight, and kill them all, or run. The moment he knows we are headed south – he will know we are after the talisman…” she looked to Adrian.
It was then that a bullet whizzed past her. Sylvia flinched and looked to Adrian. “Lets go” she spoke and rushed forwards. There was a cluster of madness, people running this way and that. Sylvia held her hand out – just as a soldier went to fire at her. But his trigger didn’t fire. Suddenly the gun lifted from his hands and turned towards him – and the trigger pulled. The rifle fired into his skull, point blank, blasting his brains across the ground. The soldier fell to the ground, limp – like a rag doll.
Sylvia held her other hand up – a machine gun was ripped from the arms of another. Both guns began firing away. From her fingertips – 1 single lightning stream traveling to these weapons, powering them – in a way. She focused on not shooting civilians….
Something interrupting her lightning – a piece of metal flew by, catching the bolts. Sylvia flew backwards, as her power backfired. Standing in front of her was a tall mage, he was built – and wore a battle armor suit. He grinned and held his hand up – a fireball appeared in his hands. “You think the king would send a gun to a mage fight?” he laughed then and threw fire ball forward – it hurdled toward Sylvia in that second…

Adrian glanced to Sylvia as she spoke, “He is a deranged man.” She responded and sighed softly. “The Grand Master and Julius think it’s a secret that the king sends his soldiers to kill those that oppose him. I uncovered that truth when I was younger.” She paused a moment. “When soldiers show up out of nowhere and destroy the city you live in, and take the lives of both of your parents…the drive to uncover the truth is fueled rather well.” She fell silent then as the explosion went off in the distance. Her teeth grit. “We can’t let them….” The bullet zipped by then. Another bullet nearly clipped her in the cheek. Adrian’s eyes moved forward. The red static zapped about in her eyes. She pulled her pistol and walked forward, firing off at the soldiers. She went for kill shots, she didn’t aim to injure them, she wanted them dead. Adrian saw Sylvia fly back then and the mage made himself known.
Adrian spun, a swirl of energy surrounded her and she jumped through the air. The fireball caught her in the chest. “He should have sent something a bit stronger.” She spoke. The horns curled from her head, her eyes glowed with the red static, the darkness seemed from around her eyes.
The battle mage took a few steps back. “What the hell…” He stared to her. “You have a demon?!” He looked to the princess.
Adrian lunged forward, she gripped around his throat. “Not quite.” She slammed him against the wall, her strength was incredible.
The mage writhed in her grip. He gripped onto her wrist, flames engulfed her arm. He choked and kicked, his feet were held up off of the ground.
Adrian’s eyes swirled as she stared to him. “What is the king after?” She asked. “What does he want?!” Her voice was threatening.
The mage yelped as she slammed him against the wall. Though, he suddenly kicked her harshly in the chest. Knocking her back. He fell to his knees, coughing. “To destroy those that oppose him. Clearly his daughter is one of those.” He glanced to Sylvia. “You’ve let the circle get to your head huh?” He asked and chuckled. “The Grand Master will fill your mind with lies, he will corrupt you and turn you into one of his puppets. You’re not saving anything. This world could be yours, princess.”
Adrian pulled her dagger, it glowed red from her grip. She sliced it forward into the mage. The blade pierced through his armor like butter as it pushed into his chest. “The king wants to bring a necromancer back to life that nearly snuffed out the entire civilization 500 years ago. What world would be hers to have?” She spoke and ripped the blade from him. Suddenly lines of fiery light began to crack through the flesh of the mage, almost as if he were a fine piece of china. Adrian stared to him, she grinned then and gripped his neck. “Don’t worry, we’ll stop him.” She shoved him back. As her grip left him his body turned to ashes, his armor was the only thing left of him.
Adrian turned and shot a soldier right between the eyes then. She grit her teeth. Adrian helped Sylvia to her feet and nodded to her. “Are you alright?” She asked as the red glow surrounded her and the demonic features melted away. Bodies of soldiers lay around them, as well as bodies of a few civilians that did not run quick enough.

Sylvia turned her head just as she heard a scream. A woman can rushing down the road – she ran towards the two. “Please you have got to help me” she cried out. “My daughter was in that building that exploded, I heard her – but I can’t get to her, please!” The woman grasped onto Sylvia’s hand, pulling her towards the building.
Sylvia turned her head as she was pulled away – Adrian had just finished off the mage. “Adrian!” she hollered. “More over here!” she then followed after the woman. They came to the burning rubble, a little girl’s scream could be heard from inside. Sylvia grit her teeth and looked up to the sky. In that instant dark clouds covered the sky – buckets of water came dumping down.
Sylvia could hear the girl crying louder. She then held her hands up and blasted at the buckled concrete, blowing it into even smaller rubble. She rushed forward and grasped the girls hand – and in the instant something clasped onto her wrist. She looked to the little girl – who held the bracelet to Sylvia’s wrist. “That was easy” the little girl spoke, and then laughed loudly, her high pitched voice rang in the air.
It was then that the girl morphed into a mage. The rain stopped, the clouds disappeared. He drug Sylvia forward, a knife held to her neck. “Ahh, Adrian” he grinned. “My old rival….” He tilted his head. “You remember me? Parvus, you had me removed from the circle…” he chuckled then. “It is only fitting now I ruin your plans…. You want this cute little princess? Fine. I’ll meet you at Talador….” Then suddenly they disappeared into thin air…
They arrived at a huge mining camp site. The place was covered in a thick smog, from the blasting in the mines. Sylvia coughed and glanced to this mage, who drug her by her arm, throwing her forward. Sylvia stumbled before a man in full metallic armor. “Ahh… Well done Parvus, you never fail… this will bait her… surely…” The captain looked to Sylvia. “As for this one…. Chain her up” he nodded.
“Ahh, we will have fun with you, Princess” Parvus spoke and pulled her along. He placed chains at her arms and feet, and then suddenly she was hoisted in the air – machines brought the chains taught, pulling at her arms and legs. Sylvia cried out in a pain, her teeth gritting. She tried to cast her magic… nothing was happening.
“Good luck with that one, Princess” Parvus then laughed and walked away. The whole while – Sylvia hacked, hardly able to breath in this madness….

Adrian rushed after Sylvia. She was caught by a few soldiers. She sliced through them and shot another. She skidded to a stop just as Sylvia pulled the little girl from the rubble. Adrian saw the mage clasp the bracelet around Sylvia’s wrist. Her stomach knotted. She took a few steps back. “Parvus…” She spoke, her teeth grit. “You were performing blood magic…it is forbidden…” She shook her head. “Let her go.” Her eyes swarmed with the red static. Then just as suddenly as everything happened. He disappeared. Adrian rushed forward to the spot he stood. She was slammed from the side then. The woman that lured Sylvia in.
“We have the princess, just give yourself to the king, Adrian.” The woman spoke as she formed a ball of energy in her hands.
Adrian pulled her pistol only for it to be knocked away by a shot of energy. “I’m going to stop the king, he can’t bring Nekros back, he doesn’t know what he’s doing!” She spoke as a red glow began to surround her.
“Ah but he does, and you my dear will be a lovely addition.” The mage snickered before she too disappeared.
Adrian stood, her breaths heavy. Her horns stuck from her head, her eyes full of fire. She grabbed her pistol from the mud.
“Demon!” A man yelled. “Demons attacked us!”
Adrian stepped to the man. She placed her hand on his cheek and her eyes glowed. “I’m not a demon, the king sent his soldiers to attack you, I saved you.” She spoke before she ran off into the night. A storm thundered in the distance. She whistled as she sprinted along. Mid run Ullr scooped down and lifted Adrian up into the air. He tossed her onto his back and they flew into the night. Adrian took in a breath. “Alright my friend, we need to move quick, Sylvia is in trouble.” She spoke as she lowered her goggles. The dragon roared as his wings beat the air and they flew on. Soon enough they were in the midst of a storm. Rain pelted Adrian, the wind pushed her around as she gripped onto Ullr’s back. Lightning struck on all sides. Though, she didn’t flinch. It didn’t even phase her, she’d flown through enough storms in her past.
Adrian grit her teeth, “Come on.” Her eyes began to glow. She took in a sharp breath. Suddenly the rain around them disappeared. Adrian glanced around, she’d teleported. Ullr chortled happily and did a few dips in the sky before he flew on. She glanced around. They were nearly there.
As they drew closer to the mines Adrian could see something suspended up in the air. She focused her vision, her pulse raced in her chest. “Sylvia…” She breathed. They circled around and came in quickly on the camp. Adrian hopped off of Ullr and took out a few guards with her dagger, their bodies turned to ash with her touch. She shot a few others and slammed one against the concrete block that held onto the machine that Sylvia was suspended with. “How do I lower this?” She growled.
“P…Parvus…h-he has the key.” The knight was trembling.
Adrian took in a sharp breath. “Of course he does.” She elbowed him in the side of the head, his body also disintegrated into ashes. Adrian glanced around as Ullr killed a few guards. “Parvus!” She called, her voice echoed through the camp. “You wanted me here, now come out!” She glanced up to Sylvia, her eyes full of worry. “Stop hiding like you always did in the tower you coward!” Her voice was angry.

Sylvia pulled against her chains as her eyes stared to Adrian “No – Adrian” she shook her head. “You shouldn’t have come, he – “
Suddenly a burst of fire came from the sky, Parvus appeared from that beam of flames. He looked to Arian and then let out a cackle. “Too fucking good! You are just as gullible as ever. Easy to predict. Adrian – the sensitive hero” he held his hands out. He stood in the middle of a very complicated ruin. He had planned this all along. “No matter” He pulled a dagger out and sliced both of his hands, squeezing his fingers tightly. Blood leaked from his hands, landing onto the rune. The Rune changed to a neon red color, and began to flash.
He then brought his hands together and the color began to grow, his hands continued to bleed. Streams of blood rolled down his arms, and dripped off his elbows. Parvus then threw his hands into the sky, a burst of red shot up. In an instant that power split off into hundreds of small balls, and they began to morph. The formations were a mixture of molten hot rock – and fire, that held together into magical being. It float above the ground, and had two arms, a floating round head. The beasts stood at attention…
“I’ve come so far since the tower… these.. are just my minions. Good luck fending them off, there is more to come” he grinned and then walked away. In an instant the fire elementals began swarming forward, rushing Adrian.
Sylvia pulled tighter at her chains, but her struggling cause the machine to tighten. Sylvia let out a cry. She then shut her eyes and concentrated. Slowly the sky began to cover – dark clouds became thick with her fury. The wristbands did not stop all magic, it only weakened it by huge measures – so to counter act it… she would have to become that much more powerful… Lightning began to strike down, rain poured down – the wind kicked up. Sylvia struggled, urging herself to summon more….

Adrian rushed forward, trying to stop him from summoning the creatures, but she was held back by a barrier that surrounded him. “You think you’ve come so far?” Adrian choked as she was held back. “If you’ve come so far why do you have to have help to keep me back?” She glared to the woman who stood on top of one of the mining machines, casting the spell to bar Adrian from getting to Parvus. She stumbled back once she was released, the creatures swarmed toward her.
It was a scramble for her life as she fought against them. She sliced through the creatures, though, the magic only parted the molten rocks and then pulled the creatures back together. Ullr snarled as his huge claw came down on several of them, ice lined the ground where he slammed down. He moved forward quickly and grabbed Adrian.
“She’s going to get away, Parvus.” The woman mage spoke, her arms crossed.
“No, she won’t.” He smirked. “Just wait.”
Adrian was pulled up onto Ullr’s back just as a creature sliced into her leg. She let out a yelp as she slammed onto his back. Then, Ullr let out a whine as the creatures rushed him. He shot up into the sky, but something was wrong. He faltered and crashed back down before he turned to several flakes of snow. Adrian stumbled and held her head. She grit her teeth.
“That’s it.” Parvus chuckled, “Turn it up. She won’t be able to fight like that.”
The woman stood, cranking a device. Her hand moved around in circles winding the device faster now. It was aimed directly at Adrian. Adrian let out a whimper as she stumbled. The creatures rushed forward again. She pulled her pistol and her dagger and began fighting. She fired off bullets. Her leg was slashed. She staggered, but she didn’t give in. She refused to back down. Adrian’s eyes were emerald green, her demonic form had melted away. The device that the mages had pointed at her blocked her magic, it stopped her from using it. Adrian turned and ran from the creatures, she limped as blood gushed with each step from her thigh. Suddenly the creatures reformed in front of her. Adrian slashed at a few and turned again, she was surrounded. She took in quick breaths as she spun, fighting as hard as she could. A creature sliced forward, gouging her back. Adrian whimpered and fell forward, tears streamed down her cheeks. Her gun fell from her hands.
A bracelet was clipped onto her wrist then, “That should do it.” The woman mage spoke, a chuckle followed the statement. “How does it feel to be powerless? An all mighty mage of the circle defeated?” She grinned and lifted her up to her feet.
Adrian looked to her, choking from the woman’s grip around her neck. She reached forward then and slammed her fist into the woman’s jaw. This caused her to drop to the ground. Adrian staggered to her feet and pulled at the bracelet. She grit her teeth. “If defeat is by trickery and cheating, that would be Parvus’ middle name. He always cheated when he was at the Tower. To the extent of practicing blood magic.” Adrian looked to the woman. “If you are in allegiance with him, then you are no better.”
The woman rushed forward, blood dripped from the side of her mouth from the blow Adrian delt. She slammed Adrian harshly against the side of a piece of machinery. “I should gut you.” She spoke under her breath.
“But you won’t.” Adrian once again slipped from her grip. Her vision was beginning to tunnel. She slammed her elbow into the mage’s back. “You need me.” She nearly fell then.
The woman chuckled and held her hand out, pulling Adrian to her easily. “Are you so sure of that, Adrian?” She asked a smirk upon her face. She held her up choking her. Adrian writhed as she fought against the invisible force that held her. She gasped for air. Her face began to turn red as she tried to free herself. The woman stepped forward then and looked her over she chuckled. Suddenly the grip around her neck loosened. “I do need you, you’re right.” She spoke as she pulled her along and set her on a rune. She knelt in front of her. “For this summon I need a psychic mage, a true psychic like yourself only comes around once a century or so.” She gripped Adrian’s neck harshly as she pulled a dagger that glowed with runes. “Once we awaken Nekros, the entire world will bow to us.” She spoke as she moved her grip to Adrian’s arm. She sliced deeply into it and then gripped her arm, squeezing the blood out onto the rune.
“No…you can’t…” Adrian gasped as the woman gripped her throat once again. Her vision was fading in and out. “It…won’t….”
The woman sliced into Adrian’s other forearm. “We will. But first, we will have some fun.” She pat Adrian’s cheek and released her finally.
Adrian fell limply back onto the rune which glowed a deep red color. Her breaths shuddered as the sounds of the mage speaking the incantation muddily echoed over the sound of her own heartbeat in her ears.

Sylvia opened her eyes as the world became grey and dark. Her eyes fell upon Sylvia – was fighting the woman. Sylvia squirmed harder, her teeth grit down - she began to feel enraged. She wanted anything to get out of the restraints. But the chains clicked once more, pulling at her even more. Sylvia cried even louder and then it happened.
The clouds disappeared in an instant. A ray of sunshine beamed down onto the ground. The beam channeled down, and then began to spin – from it was white lightning that struck out. The lightning touched a small building – and it burst into furious flames, almost burning to the ground instantly. The earth was charred and broken in its wake. The burning white tornado of white lightning began to move. The wind picked up harshly…
The red fire elementals began to be picked up, swallowed whole and destroyed, the bits of earth that they held – turned into ashes, and melted into glass. Sylvia’s contraption was then zapped, the metal melted swiftly, she was able to yank herself from the chains. She then held her hands up – lightning hit the bracelets, and It burnt off easily.
In an instant the tornado disappeared – her entire body turned into a white frenzy. Huge white lightning wings appeared behind her back – and she lifted into the air. In that minute – something came from the sky. It landed, and the world shook. The beast before her was a giant, almost as large as a Titan. His skin was all stone, molten cracks of lava scattered across his body. Flames erupted from his eyes. In his hands was a giant two handed flaming weapon. She had never seen anything like this…
Sylvia grit her teeth – the titan brought his sword down – but Sylvia shot forward a blast of white lightning, parrying his attacks. She turned her head and easily zapped the woman who was fighting Adrian. The woman turned into ashes almost instantly. “Adrian!” Sylvia called out. She looked to the titan – and parried another attack.
Then seemingly – from Sylvia’s chest – a gentle blue orb appeared. It bounced through the air and lingered around Adrian – and then slipped inside her body. It was the Azarelite that belonged to her, which Sylvia had..
Though once it did that – Sylvia’s lightning became stronger, but hectic. It bolted and zapped at the trees, at the ground, at the titan. Sylvia couldn’t quite hold it in. It grew stronger, brighter, bigger – her body lifted into the air by her wings, and she became swarmed whole, nothing by a glowing white angel of lightning and death. Her balance was off… and now it threatened her….
The titan swung down but Sylvia caught the blade with her hands and threw it back. She then channeled power into his chest, the beam sunk into his cracks and boiled his lava… The more she used… the bigger she became…. Like a star – about to reach supernova….

Adrian’s eyes fluttered as she lay on the rune. Her breathing was shaky as she felt the ground tremble in the wake of the giant. Her eyes slipped shut, her breaths echoed. It was then that the Azeralite came to her. She took in a breath, her eyes opened. Her eyes swirled with blue magic. The mage stood next to her. “No…this can’t be happening.” The woman spoke.
Adrian stood up, her arms swirled with magic. Her horns grew back in. She reached forward and gripped onto the woman, the bracelet cracked and broke from her wrist. “This can’t be happening?” She questioned. “Yet, you are the one that summoned that creature.” She grit her teeth. She felt a tug then.
She slammed her elbow into the side of the head of the woman, knocking her out easily. Adrian looked up to Sylvia, she could barely see her, she held her arm up to shield her eyes from the light. “Sylvia.” She muttered. “She’s unstable….no…” She shook her head. She glanced around. Adrian’s world began to spin. She took in quick breaths. In an instant she blinked her eyes and she appeared before Sylvia. Adrian gripped onto her. The orb of Azeralite floated around the two for a moment before it returned to Sylvia. “You have to kill it.” Adrian whispered. Her energy channeled into Sylvia, every ounce that she had. Her breaths trembled as she held onto the princess. She could feel their power together, the strength of it. Adrian squeezed her eyes shut as the light grew brighter around them. The beam from Sylvia intensified and suddenly the giant burst into flames, pieces of him fell to the ground.
When Adrian opened her eyes again they were on the ground. She stared into Sylvia’s eyes for a moment.
“I’m not finished with you.” Parvus spoke as he stepped forward. “I’m taking you both back to the king with the talisman.”
Adrian turned to him. Her body glowed with the red static. She rushed forward and the two began to fight. A burst of energy pushed from the two as Adrian dodged his attacks and landed hits on him. She moved fluidly. Her eyes glowed bright white as she fought. Then suddenly she landed a kick to the side of his head that caused him to stagger. He stumbled before he finally toppled over. The electricity that surrounded Adrian slowly melted away. “Sylvia….” She breathed as she fell to her knees. Her injuries caught up with her. She looked to the unconscious mage before her. He had a bracelet clipped around his belt. She reached forward and fastened it on his wrist.
Adrian staggered to her feet. “The talisman…” She spoke. Her voice trembled. She was weak from the cuts and slashes across her body. “We have to get to it…Sylvia are you okay?” She stopped then and looked to the princess. “That…was incredible, what you did…” She stared to her for a long moment. “I…don’t know how you did that.” She shook her head, “I’ve never seen anything like it.” She leaned against a piece of machinery, her vision faded slightly.
Ullr landed in and let out a disgruntled growl as he dropped the female mage on the ground next to Parvus. He snarled slightly before he looked to Adrian. He whined and nuzzled her before he looked to Sylvia and whined again.

Sylvia opened her eyes slowly – after had destroyed the titan with the assistance of Adrian. She felt like her body had been tackled by a thousand elephants. She groaned and turned her head – her eyes looked to Adrian, who combated Parvus. It was just a swift moment later that Parvus lay – the bracelet clasped around his wrist.
She slowly stood – she stumbled over to Adrian, her eyes glanced to the huge dragon that flew down. People stood about them – miners and workers. Sylvia glanced to them – but they did nothing. They just watched… Sylvia leaned down and slipped a finger into Parvus’s pocket – she pulled a gem out. It was jagged, and seemed unusual – but nothing special. She turned it around in her fingers, and then slipped it into her own pouch about her waist.
“Lets go…leave her, she is long gone…” She then helped Adrian onto the back of Ullr. “Carry him like a limp sack of potatos… and don’t be kind…” Sylvia glanced to Parvus, who was still knocked clean out. She then crawled onto Ullr. She reached both her arms around Adrian, she locked her hands together infront of Adrian’s chest – holding her upward, to ensure she didn’t slump over… and fall.
Then Ullr lifted into the air carefully… they glided over the world, his wings bat strongly – once or twice, then he glided, this way not to throw the two too much. “Ullr – no stopping, we have to get to the tower…” she spoke. Sylvia focused – she was not harmed like Adrian was, just tired. As they flew into the night – Sylvia glanced over.
Next to them was a gentle hue, a figure appeared – he too on a serpent like dragon. It was Murdoc… he was following. He held his hand out and syphoned magic into herself, Ullr, and Adrian.
When I finally got to meet you… I was able to place a bond with you. I found my way out… but it is difficult to phase with you… I will help you, as much as I can. I owe you this much.
Then the hazy serpent, and Murdoc – disappeared. It was almost like her imagination was playing games on her… but she felt like she had more energy….
The early morning came – and Ullr swooped into the caverns, and they emerged at the tower. Sylvia lifted one hand – and shot a white bolt into the air, a beacon – a sign for help. Ullr landed on the ground and dropped Parvus, he was still limp – as Ullr had helped keep him knocked out.
Sylvia slipped from the dragon, and helped Adrian down. Her arms were sore, burning – from holding Adrian tightly…
Swiftly the Grand Master, Elias, and Julius – rushed towards them. Ullr was laying down, his eyes watching the crew, before he disappeared into a flurry of snowflakes. Then suddenly Lunafreya appeared too…
Sylvia pulled a gem from her pocket and handed it to the Grand Master. “We did it… barely… this guy had it, and ambushed us… I am.. very tired…” she muttered. Elias stepped forward and grasped Sylvia – just as her knees gave out. “Come on….” Elias helped her up, and lead her to the tower. “You’ll have to tell me what happened… I’m Elias, we never officially met…” he looked down to her, smiling…

Adrian leaned against Sylvia, her breaths shuddered. As Ullr helped her onto his back she slumped, her eyes fluttered. “Sylvia…I…” She grit her teeth as Sylvia wrapped her arms around her. Her blood smeared onto Sylvia’s arms. “I can’t breathe…” She whispered as her head leaned back. Her head rest against Sylvia’s shoulder, her forehead turned and pressed against her jaw. As they flew up into the sky Adrian eventually lost consciousness, her body leaned limply against Sylvia.
**
“Adrian, look, hold it this way. It’s much more effective.” Julius stood with a bamboo sword. “If you keep your hands lined up like this.” He carefully adjusted her hands. “Now try.” He gave a nod.
Adrian was young, about 10 or so. She moved forward and sliced at the practice dummy. It leaned from side to side as she attacked it. Her blows were strong for her size.
“Archmage…” A voice spoke. “Could I spar her?” It was a young Elias, he stood watching, he was 14 or so at the time. Taller than her, a bit lanky. “I know you’ve been working with her since she was recovered from the attack…”
Julius looked to Elias and grinned, “If you choose to place yourself in such punishment.” He chuckled. “Adrian.” He called to her.
Adrian stopped after the bamboo sword slammed into the practice dummy, feathers fell to the ground from the harsh blow. She came to Julius’ side and looked to Elias.
Julius smirked, “You have a challenger.” He looked to her. “A spar against a worthy opponent would be good for you.”
Adrian looked to Elias a moment, searching his eyes. Her eyes glowed slightly, her magic was incredible for such a young mage. Elias grinned, “You are a psychic like everyone is saying huh?” He gave a nod. “I would be honored to spar against you.”
Julius reached forward and took the bamboo sword from her hands. “Alright.” He smiled.
Adrian gave a nod. “Okay.” She spoke and stepped over into the ring. This was the first time she’d fought against someone else other than practicing with Julius.
Adrian brought her fists up as she looked up to Elias, she took in a breath as he stepped into the circle. He too readied himself and gave a nod. Adrian stepped forward, she parried each of his movements. After a few minutes of throwing punches back and forth she had a grin on her lips. She moved quickly and swept his legs out from under him, slamming him onto his back harshly. Elias groaned but recovered quickly and got to his feet. He rushed her and wrapped his arms around her tackling her to the ground. Adrian slipped from his grip rolling from beneath him, she pinned him down and drew her fist back. She paused, a smile on her lips. “You lose.” She chuckled and climbed from him. She held her hand down.
Elias stood and chuckled as well. “You’re fast.” He spoke and then stared into her eyes. “If you ever need a partner, let me know, I could have your back.” He scratched his head slightly.
Adrian smiled to him for a moment and then looked to Julius, as if to ask for permission. Julius returned a nod to her. “Of course. I’m here every day, all day…” She thought for a moment. “Mostly, unless the Grand Master has lessons planned for me…” She grinned. “You, should focus on blocking your mind.” She pointed to her head. “I knew every move before you ever made it.” She then walked off, leaving Elias standing with a loose jaw.
**
Adrian woke as they landed. She let out a soft whimper as Sylvia helped her from the back of the dragon. She was pulled into Julius’ arms. “Julius…” She whispered as her head lay against his chest. Her body shivered.
The Grand Master glanced to Parvus who lay unconscious. “Parvus?” He drew his brows together. “I’d hoped kicking him from the circle was enough after he tried to kill me.” He grit his teeth and waved a few mages to take him into holding.
Lunafreya gave a nod to Sylvia. She cupped her cheek, “You did well.” She spoke, syphoning some of her energy into her. “You deserve rest.” She then stepped to Adrian and looked over the wounds. “Come.” She spoke and she rushed inside with Julius at her heels. She made her way to the infirmary and pointed to a bed. “She shouldn’t be alive.” She spoke looking over the wounds. Adrian was set down on the gurney. “These wounds…” She shook her head as she turned Adrian’s arms over and looked to the deep gashes that the female mage made when she used Adrian to summon the titan. “She’s lost so much blood…” Lunafreya began mixing herbs together. “How are you still breathing?” She questioned as she looked to the gashes across Adrian’s body.
Adrian’s eyes fluttered, she couldn’t stay awake long in between her unconscious states. Though she reached her hand and gripped onto Lunafreya’s hand as she cleaned a deep puncture in Adrian’s side.
Lunafreya took in a breath as she looked to the mage. Her skin was ghostly pale. “Don’t worry, Adrian.” She placed her hand over hers. “Just relax okay? I know it hurts.”
Julius looked over the cuts and shook his head. “How is she alive, Lunafreya?” He asked, his eyes worried.
“Either her magic is holding her together or…” Lunafreya poured medicine into Adrian’s mouth and held her head up to help her swallow. Adrian coughed slightly and gasped for air. Her eyes swirled with the red static. “What if…” She placed her hand on Adrian’s forehead and allowed some of her energy to cross over into Adrian. She took a step back.
“What are you doing?” Julius asked.
“Just a hunch…” She spoke and watched. Lunafreya watched as the wounds on Adrian’s arms began to mend slowly the skin pulled together, the bleeding slowed.
“How…” Julius stepped forward and lifted Adrian’s arm after a few minutes. “How did…” He looked to Adrian whom was unconscious.
“She’s not human anymore, Julius.” Lunafreya spoke. She stepped forward and searched over Adrian’s body, looking passed the blood to where the wounds once were. “When I exorcised that demon from Elias, he took her soul with him. She fought to come back. But once her soul was taken by that demon…” She paused. “I’ve only read legends, there was a mage many years ago, far before my time. Something happened to him. He was taken to hell by a demon that threatened the world. He fought with him, his body lay lifeless on the surface for nearly a week. Then suddenly he returned. When he came back he took on demonic features, he had horns, tipped ears, he could slip in and out of the other realm as he pleased. She is a Hellicht.”
Julius looked over Adrian a moment his arms crossed, “So she’s a demon?” He asked.
Lunafreya grinned and let out a chuckle. “In a sense, yes. Though her soul is fully intact. Which is something that a demon does not have the luxury of having.” She looked over Adrian and brushed her hair from her eyes. “She is neither human nor demon, but a hybrid of the two.” She searched over her for a moment. “Her body if it hadn’t been subjected to such brutality would have completely healed on its own. She may not have even lost consciousness. Though, it will take time for her to adjust to this new ability. It takes energy to perform such a feat.”
Julius took in a breath, “I’m just going to consider her a demon.” He winked. “I’m going to go check on Sylvia.” He nodded and left the room.
Lunafreya turned to Adrian, she looked her over a moment. “You’d be dead if it wasn’t for that demon poisoning you.” She spoke, “The king aimed to poison you and take your soul for his, yet, you fought your way out and now you’ve become something stronger than I believe the king could ever imagine and to think he has also created a very powerful mage of his daughter.” She pondered out loud as she cleaned blood from Adrian’s body. “The king has no idea what he’s done.” She chuckled slightly.
**
“My king.” The female mage knelt before the king.
“Where is Parvus? And where is my daughter? Do not kneel before me without having what I asked of you!!” The king snarled. “Where is the talisman? Did you at least manage to get that?!” He snapped.
The mage stood slowly, her head bowed. “No my king. The princess is traveling with a very powerful mage....together the princess and this mage took down a titan…and when I woke they’d taken Parvus as well…she is a mage of the circle, my king.”
The king crossed his arms, “It is as the demon said then.” He spoke and snapped his fingers. “The experiment, is it ready?” He looked to his scientist.
“Yes, my king, of course. A few more tweaks and it shall be perfect.”
“Perfect. I want my daughter, and I want that mage she’s with. And get me that talisman!” He stood, his fist shaking, his face red.
The mage bowed her head. “O-of course my king, I won’t fail you.”
“Not this time.” The king chuckled as guards grabbed a hold of her and pulled her toward the scientist.
**
Several hours passed before Adrian finally woke. Her eyes opened and she sat up quickly. She was in her room in the tower. “Sylvia?” She asked and looked around frantically. She remembered the titan, but after that, everything was a foggy mess.
