Krysta jumped when the door opened and she nearly reached for her knife again when she saw the gleam of metal from the gun. Luckily Ari lowered the weapon and stated her reasoning for entering the room so aggressively. "I'm not that suicidal." Krysta commented before pulling her legs up a bit as Ari sat on the edge of the bed. She was still tired and really wasn't looking forward to another long and tiresome conversation. The conversation that she started up however had Krysta immediately uncomfortable. "Wait, what do you want me to do?" She asked when Ari started with a vague description of the favor she had in mind.
Begrudgingly she got out of the warm bed and followed Ari down the hall to Vox's bedroom. She stood with her arms folded over her chest as she glanced around the large room. It was neatly kept, just like the rest of the penthouse, and she could smell colognes and a feint hint of perfume. Assuming it was from Ari she sighed and she saw the demoness maneuvering Vox to undress him. Seeing a naked man was nothing new to Krysta and if it weren't for her utter lack in interest for the demon she might have agreed with Ari's tall, dark and handsome description. "You really need to quit saying that." She muttered as she stepped around to the other side of the bed from Vox.
To say that Krysta was uncomfortable with the situation would be an understatement. What was to prevent Vox from injuring her if she startled him when he woke up from his drug induced sleep? Or worse yet what if he didn't react the way Ari thought he would and he took her presence as a sign that she was free game? She wanted to go back to the guest room and lock the door, maybe put a chair under the door handle for good measure, but she had made a deal with Ari and she would go along with what the demoness wanted it if it truly did further their goal. "I hope I don't regret this, Ari." She told the demoness as she clicked off the light and left them alone in the room.
In the dark Krysta became hyper aware of Vox's presence next to her. She could feel his weight on the bed, the heat his body produced, and even the sound of his steady breathing. She sighed and slid down on the bed a bit so that as she laid back her head landed on the pillow and she forced herself to get closer to the man. Close enough that her arm touched his as he slept. She was stiff though. Obviously uncomfortable laying next to him despite what was supposed to appeared to have happened. "Jesus Christ this isn't the hardest thing you've done, Krysta, get a grip." She told herself and sat up in the bed once more. Ari said make it convincing so she was going to do just that.
Krysta removed the leggings she wore and tossed them on the floor, leaving her in just her underwear and the over sized shirt, then she tussled her hair to give it a more messy appearance and also fluffed up the blankets to make it look like there had been a fair amount of movement. "If he doesn't believe this I don't know what he would." The last step was to lay back down, pull the blankets up and turned on her side to face Vox as she laid her head on the pillow but against his shoulder.
It took her a while to fall asleep and as Vox moved while dreams played behind his eyelids she watched his facial expressions and listened to him mumble. He sounded like every other man she had heard sleeping since the demons came to Earth. Troubled and tormented with nightmares that prevented him from resting peacefully. She had learned a lot about the demons in the last 24 hours but she couldn't let it change her opinion of them. To many people were counting on her to be able to keep a clear head. So, she closed her eyes and willed herself to sleep.

As the rays of the sun crept across the room and its warmth cascaded over the two Vox’s eyes fluttered open. His arm was draped over another body in his bed. Though as he opened his eyes he saw something, well someone, that he didn’t quite expect to see. He blinked a few times as he sucked in a breath, his arm was laying against bare skin on Krysta’s side. For the first time since she’d met him she’d see true confusion on his face if she awakened in that moment. He rolled onto his back abruptly and stared up at the ceiling. He couldn’t remember. A sense of panic overtook him. What happened? Why didn’t he remember? Had he had that much wine? He was hyper aware of the lack of clothing on his body as he slipped from the bed. He looked around the room and saw the various garments tossed about the room. He glanced back to Krysta in the bed as he drew his brows together. He looked over the blankets that were ruffled from the scene that he couldn’t remember. And she was sleeping soundly it appeared. The demon ran his fingers along his face and through his hair as he stood there a long moment, staring to the human in his bed. He stepped into the master bathroom and splashed water onto his face as he looked to himself in the mirror. It wasn’t the first time he’d drank too much and forgotten. He’d done things like that before...a time or two...but usually he was careful...especially around a human like Krysta, she was a demon hunter. He shouldn’t have let his guard down like that…
Vox pulled on a dark blue shirt and he found himself staring at Krysta as she slept once again. He paced slightly before he pulled on a pair of black pajama pants. His eyes looked over the clothing, the leggings that were next to the bed. He bit his lower lip slightly. Once again he stared. He sucked in a deep breath, this time he caught the scent of bacon and eggs. He drew his brows together and he quietly exited the room. Vox walked to the kitchen to find Ari happily humming as she scrambled eggs upon the stove. “Well good morning.” Ari looked to him with a grin. “I’d ask how your night was….but...I am pretty sure the neighbors know how good it was too.” She giggled then.
Vox sat down at the counter barstool and blinked a few times. “Did I drink too much?” He asked as he rubbed his eyes and tried to remember. “What happened?”
Ari stepped over to him with a tray and two plates in hand. “I told you she was your type.” She winked. “Blondes have always been your type.” She leaned to the side and grabbed the two mugs of coffee. “It wasn’t in her deal with you, but she didn’t seem too upset with going along with it.” She glanced to the table where a half full glass of wine sat. “She didn’t even drink much.” She grinned. “You on the other hand.” She seemed to calculate in her head. “Maybe had a few too many.” She shrugged. “Why don’t you take her breakfast, hm?”
Vox looked to the try that Ari had put together before him. She’d even placed a red rose on the tray. He grit his teeth slightly. “She’s a human, Ari.” He scoffed. “Stop trying to set us up like you’re cupid.”
“Ouch.” Ari held her hand to her chest. “That hurts. That oaf can’t even aim right.” She giggled. “Go. Shoo. You deserve a little R & R, Vox. Don’t mind me.” She winked. “Why don’t you ask your human how her night was?” She smirked.
Vox sucked in a breath as he lifted the tray. He stared to Ari as she returned to humming and putting together a plate for herself. He fought to remember, but nothing came. Vox then turned and headed back down the hallway with the tray in hand. He slipped into the room and set the tray on a bedside table before he paced slightly. Why did it matter? Why was he nervous like this? He glanced to Krysta a long moment before he climbed back into the bed. He bit his lip before he relaxed and reached forward. He tucked her hair from her face. “Um...good morning...” He spoke his voice sounded uneasy. “I brought you breakfast in bed, it’s a...thing I do for guests...like you...” He seemed to be at a loss for words as he stared to her once again.

Almost as soon as Vox started to stir in the morning Krysta woke from her sleep. She had slept so lightly that when she felt Vox move she didn't feel the disorientation she had when she had smashed the lamp next to the guest bed. Though she was fully conscious she kept her eyes closed and her breathing steady as she simply listened and felt him move off the bed. She could hear him pace, the sound of water running, followed by more pacing then the door as he left. He was so quiet she knew he had tried to not wake her up. Alone in the room she opened her eyes and listened to the conversation outside the room as well. She could hear Ari talking and the sounds of pans moving in the kitchen. The neighbors? Really? She thought to herself and gave a soft sigh. She was going to have to act as if they had a raging good time.
When she heard the conversation stop Krysta closed her eyes once more and pretended to be asleep as Vox came into the room. She heard the tray on the table next to her but it took a few seconds for him to climb back into the bed. When she felt him brush the hair from her face she flinched slightly but couldn't help but give an amused smile, one that could be mistaken for cheerfulness, as she heard him struggle with the words to say. She turned from her side to lay on her back as she stretched her limbs with a small groan before opening her eyes to look at Vox. It seems he had put on clothes at some point, which she was glad to see. "Good morning to you as well." She told him, her voice thick with sleep still. "Breakfast, huh?" She propped herself up on her elbows and glanced over to the tray with the plates Ari had prepared. "Thank you, I need to replenish a bit after last night." She was trying not to lay it on to thick and just prayed that he didn't ask for details.
Sitting up in the bed she pulled the covers up over her lap to hide her lack of lower dress before reaching for the plates, handing him his own breakfast, and setting hers on her lap. As she spotted the rose on the tray she almost glared at it, and by proxy Ari, but refrained and simply kept a pleasant smile in order to keep up the facade. As she nibbled on a bit of bacon an idea came to her. "Listen, um, I know some stuff was said last night but it was just the heat of the moment, right? Don't get me wrong I had a lot of fun." Of course nothing was said but she wanted to see him panic a little. To wonder what it was that he had told her knowing he didn't remember but not wanting her to know he didn't remember.

The smile that Krysta had on her lips caused that much more confusion. He took in a breath as he watched her sit up and he took his plate. Though he didn’t start eating as he sat there. He bit his lower lip slightly and searched the empty void of last night as she spoke of words that he couldn’t remember. “Ari was nice enough to make the tray.” He lifted the rose up and twirled it around. “She uh….did that, not me.” He spoke up quickly. He then cleared his throat. “Yeah, uh….mutually agreed on that...um...” He slipped from the bed and ran his fingers through his hair as he looked to her again. The same sort of stare that he’d done before he ‘woke’ her. “Whatever I said...forget it, then...if you forget it then it’s not a problem.” Vox drew his brows together slightly. “So...whatever happened….” He ran his fingers through his hair again. He was clearly uncomfortable. The stony sarcastic demon was reduced to a nervous boy.
“Just uh...” He drew in a breath and he walked to the balcony window and looked out over the city. “Just the heat of the moment.” He spoke, his voice nearly a mutter. He crossed his arms over his chest as he stood there for a long moment. He was silent for awhile before he finally turned around. “We have things to do today. You won’t have any issues keeping up then, since last night...” He stopped mid-sentence then and bit his lower lip. “Honestly, I don’t remember any of it.” He looked to her. “So, whatever you’d like to do about it, that’s fine with me.” He drew his brows together slightly as he crossed his arm tightly over his chest. He stepped forward and grabbed his coffee from the tray and sipped from the cup, his nose wrinkled. “Ari….” He growled lowly before he stepped from the room.
Ari was sitting at the table flipping through an old paper from before the apocalypse. “Can you believe these stories?” She chuckled. “Star found sleeping with his ex-costar, wife goes crazy.” She giggled and shook her head. “Such trivial things, such things that they concerned themselves with.” She glanced to Vox as he came into the room, the glare within his eyes caused her stomach to drop, though she kept the smile upon her lips. “Are you two bickering already? Where did the cupcake phase go?”
Vox set the mug down on the table and the coffee splashed out over the glass. “Why did you allow me to make a fool of myself?” He questioned. “Of all things, Ari. Of all things you allowed me to do that? With her?!” He snapped. “We need her for information. That’s it. She’s supposed to be under my protection.” He narrowed his brows.
“Vox, love.” Ari stood she placed her hand on his chest only for him to grab her wrist tightly. “Hey.” She gazed into his eyes. “You should have seen you two. She was smiling, you were smiling. How could I stop that? Hm? I haven’t seen you smile like that...ever...” Ari reached her other hand up and poked his nose. “Don’t look at it as a bad thing, hm? Just keep moving forward.” She gave a gentle smile.
The demon pushed her hand back and took in a deep breath. “This was a mistake.” He snapped before he turned and walked back to the room. He walked to his closet and began thumbing through everything. “Did you enjoy yourself at least?” He asked, his voice was a bit harsh. “Did I at least say something good?” He looked to her with a disgruntled frown. “Or interesting?” He held a shirt a pair of pants in his hands. “I’ve never….” He shook his head and stared at her then without completing his sentence.

Krysta continued to watch him struggle with a look of feigned concern as he tried to keep with the appearance that he knew what had happened the previous night. Though when he finally admitted that he had no idea what had transpired she changed her expression to that of insult. As if his words had stung far more than they should have. Then when he stormed out of the room to confront Ari she let the false expression of concern drop from her features and ate the rest of the bacon on her plate before moving on to the eggs. She could hear them conversing and though their words were a little muffled it was easy to tell that Vox was still rather worked up and upset about the events.
She had set her plate back on the tray and had just moved to the edge of the bed to gather her leggings as he re-entered the room and headed towards the closet to rummage for some clothes to wear. She wore the soft expression she had previously when he was in the room and slid her leggings back on as she questioned her on whether or not she had enjoyed herself. "Don't worry about it." She finally said and stood up from the bed, her leg felt even better now -almost completely back to normal, then walked over to stand next to him and even wrapped her arms around his middle before leaning up to give him a gentle kiss on his cheek. "You were a perfect gentleman, gave me a wonderful time, and even said some of the sweetest things. I appreciate it, but you seem really distraught, or ashamed, about this so I won't say anything to anyone else about it, hmm?" She flashed her most charming smile at him then released her hold and turned to walk out of the room.
When she spotted Ari she gave her a smile and a "Good morning" before giving her a mischievous wink and walking back to her bedroom to gather some fresh clothes for herself. She didn't know why but she felt much more confident around these two today. Maybe it was because she wasn't having to rely on a cane to walk now or maybe it was something to do with the mixture Ari had used on her leg or even the wine they had. Either way she felt like she stood on even ground with the demons and if they gave her trouble she could meet their challenge head on.
Once in the bedroom she closed the door behind her and went back to the closet of borrowed clothes. Maybe she could convince Vox to take her shopping or something. Get some belongings that were actually hers so she didn't have to raid Ari's wardrobe constantly. She picked out a pair of jeans and one of the more flattering shirts that Ari had hanging up. The torso looked almost like a corset and the neckline plunged down to reveal a fair amount of cleavage. It had short lacy sleeves and buttons that came up from the bottom to just under her bust line. "Yep, I still hate clothes like this." She muttered to herself as she looked in the mirror and brushed out her hair before heading back out into the main living are to join her demonic hosts.

Vox was locked in place. He’d caught the upset stare when he’d mentioned that he couldn’t remember anything. When she told him not to worry about it the blood in his veins ran cold. He expected her to lash out at him for his lack of memory. The demon looked down to her as she simply wrapped her arms around him….and the kiss. It was unexpected. But above all else the smile that she flashed him caused his own lips to curve up in a smile. He went to speak but by time his brain caught up Krysta had already walked from the room. He shook the daze from his mind and let out a long breath. “Focus.” He spoke to himself. He’d never quite been in a situation like this before. Not like this. His usual suspect was Ari for something like this, but she didn’t seem as guilty as she normally would and Krysta seemed pleased enough with their interactions the previous evening.
Vox nodded to himself before he went into the bathroom. He stripped himself of his clothing and he dressed himself for the day. Jeans, as per usual and a black button down long sleeve shirt that had a ghosted design of a forest upon it. It was a very nice shirt in all honesty. He slipped his black converse on and he brushed through his hair before he ruffled it slightly to its normal untamed look. He then stepped from his room. He found Ari cleaning up the kitchen, still humming to herself. “Ari.” He sat at the counter. “You had nothing to do with this?” He asked with a raised brow, he was much more calm than before.
“No, not at all. Though, I wouldn’t be against it.” She winked. “The girl is beautiful, Vox, you can’t deny that.” She chuckled softly as she placed a clean plate into the drying rack. She then picked up a towel and dried her hands as she turned to him and leaned her elbows onto the counter. “Besides, she’s a feisty one, hm? She isn’t afraid of us. That’s a rare gem these days.” Ari reached out and touched his hand, “Don’t be so hard on yourself, you can have fun. You’re a demon, love.” She smirked as she looked over to the incoming footsteps. “Well, well...” Ari grinned as her eyes fell upon the human. “Don’t be shy about finding my nicest clothing, doll.” She stepped over to her and ran her fingertips along her shoulders. “That’s a nice top, looks better on you than me, I might add.” She giggled and looked to Vox, “What do you think, love?” She asked.
Vox stared at Krysta. He still wanted to remember their interactions. The dark abyss of his memory still offered nothing for him, not even a glimpse. He gave a slightly forced smile as he stood to meet the challenge. He stepped forward and his eyes played over Krysta, a playful smile curved up his lips. “Now you’re trying to seduce me?” He asked with a raised brow. “Which is it? That we forget? Or that we continue?” He then looked to Ari. “We’ve plenty to do today, don’t expect us back until well after the sun has set.” He glanced out the window and sighed slightly. “Especially at this hour.” He looked back to Krysta. “Come along then, darling.” He smirked as he spoke the last word. Perhaps it was the kiss on his cheek, or her willingness to wrap her arms around him that set a flame to him. But he wasn’t nearly as distraught now. Now it was all about playing the game to him. Vox stepped into the hallway and called upon the elevator. “You’re going to afford yourself quite a lot of attention dressed like that.” He looked to her as the elevator chimed and the doors opened. “Should be interesting.” He smirked as he stepped onto the elevator and scanned in his thumb.
Vox was quiet as the elevator descended to the bar below. It was quiet at this hour, only the barkeep to stare at the two. Vox gave a strong glare in the demon’s direction as his eyes locked on Krysta. Though as soon as the barkeep saw Vox he looked away and busied himself with cleaning the glasses. They walked out into the warmth of the day, crystal clear blue skies above them for now. This afternoon it might change, it seemed to rain every day in this city. “You wanted information on the Circle.” Vox began. “I’ll introduce you to Mervin, he’s above me on the pecking order of things. He’s been a demon nearly as long as Lucifer has been a demon.” Vox glanced to her again, his eyes lingered on her a moment before he looked back forward. “We have to pick up another set of orders from him to disburse to the lower demons. That is how our society works. We are like a huge company, if you can imagine it. All the managers above thousands of workers with one CEO on top.” He turned a corner as they continued to walk. “I owe you answers to questions. So, what questions do you have so that I can hold up my end of the deal?” Vox looked to her once again.

When Krysta had chosen the revealing top she had done so to continue tormenting Vox. Seeing him flustered gave her a sense of power over him she had been lacking previously. However, after Ari doted on and complimented her on her selection she was a bit taken back by the reappearance of his slightly smug yet coy smile. Had she gone to far? Reassured him rather than make him nervous? It sure seemed that way and as he turned his back to her to head towards the elevator she cast and uncertain glance in Ari's direction. The demoness wouldn't help her though. She was probably enjoying seeing them both squirm.
"I'm used to being stared at." She told Vox when he commented on her choice of attire. "Not to mention you dress like you're on your way to an interview everywhere you go so I figured I'd match your style somewhat." It was another boldface lie, but one she could roll with easily. When they reached the bottom floor of the building she followed him out and into the empty lobby and took better note of where things were located. The previous day she had been to focused on her discomfort or pain to really take much of the scenery in. She looked for exits, fire alarms and anything else that could be used in an effort to escape if need be. She also caught the stare of the bartender but blatantly ignored him.
She didn't refocus her attention back onto Vox until he started to speak again and mentioned that they were going to meet another Circle member to receive and disperse orders. Which reminded her.. "I do have something I wanted to discuss with you. Per our deal you can't harm the humans that surrounded Domiel. Yet you received orders from Lucifer yesterday to do just that. What will you do?" She had wanted to say something then but had been unable to at the time. It didn't matter that she half way confirmed that's where Domiel resided. She had already told him that it wouldn't be possible to reach the angel while he was locked up. It was just to secure.

Vox smirked as he looked to her his eyes searched hers a moment before he glanced back forward. “Well, we’ve got ourselves quite the pickle then, don’t we?” Vox seemed more entertained by the question than anything. “Last night wasn’t part of the deal.” He looked to her with a grin. “Just because Lucifer says to kill, doesn’t always mean I follow the rules.” He chuckled. “Remember darling, you are dealing with a demon. We are nasty creatures straight from hell. Not to be trusted.” He looked to her with a smile. “Even if Lucifer had told me to level the place I wouldn’t, I previously held a deal with you, darling. If I were to mention it to Lucifer he would agree. A deal, is a deal, is a deal.” He paused a moment in his walking and he let out a breath. “I know Ari must have drugged me.” He spoke as he stared to her, the smile wiped from his expression. “I am perfectly aware that the last glass of wine I remember was at the dinner table, it was a glass that Ari poured for me.” He tilted his head slightly as he looked to her. “If she didn’t tell you...” He paused and a smile curled up his lips again as he reached forward and cupped her cheek. “She likes to play love games, to play matchmaker. Pity for you she’s decided you and I should be one. Hm?”
Vox gave an almost sweet smile then, “I do enjoy the fire in your eyes, darling.” He spoke as he lowered his hand. “I’ve yet to meet a human with a fire like that. Now.” He grinned almost wickedly then. “Did you plan on killing the Circle members? That was the plan….right?” He questioned as he stared into her eyes. “Because I’m going to all but deliver one right to you. As per our deal. I’ll have you note I didn’t take your dagger, so don’t lie and say you don’t have it. Oh, and I’d like to thank you for not murdering me last night.” He smirked then, “That would have put a damper on our deal, now wouldn’t it? Me dead. You, without answers and demons to kill.” Vox turned then without another word and continued walking. Almost as if he’d just spoken to her about normal things like ordering a cheeseburger and fries before the apocalypse. “Are you coming?” He questioned as he flashed her a smile.
He walked up to an old warehouse building that looked like it might have been an old air hanger back in the 40’s. “Ladies first.” He spoke as he pulled the old metal doorway open. He followed in closely behind her, his hand even rest on the middle of her back as they walked into the shadowy warehouse. He walked with her, guiding her gently with his hand as his eyes moved about. Other demons walked about the warehouse. Humans worked tirelessly, they looked up to gaze at Krysta. Some seemed confused as they looked to her. They hadn’t seen Vox with the woman before. Who was she? Vox wrapped his arm around her waist then and smiled to her. “Come on, Darling.” He spoke as he led her into an old rickety elevator that had open metal sides. He watched as the demons and humans looked up to them as they were lifted to the second story walkway that led to the raised office of Mervin.
Vox walked forward and pulled his arm from her to open the door to the office. His hand rest upon the handle as he looked to her a moment, a smile upon his lips. He pulled the door open. “After you, darling.” He spoke.
Within the office a man spun around in a large rolling chair, a fat cigar in his mouth puffed smoke as he sucked upon it. He looked up to the two as they entered through the cloudy haze of the office. “Vox.” His voice was rough. He had a large belly and no chin to be found. He stood and waddled more than he walked over to the two. “Good to see you boy.” He licked his lips as if he was looking at a fresh dinner tray as he eyed Krysta. “Oh and who is this fine morsel?” He asked as he took her hand and kissed the back of it. He inhaled deeply and a low growl came from his chest. “Human?” He paused and grinned to Vox. “You dog.” He chuckled.
Vox wrapped his arm around Krysta and pulled her close. “This is Krysta. She’s very entertaining. Keeps me up all night, as well as our neighbors.” He gloated. “I haven’t met a demoness that can do such a thing.” He chuckled playfully as the man walked back over to his desk. “I found her in the tunnels, poor thing was about to get killed by a pack of Belial demons, scratched to hell.” He shrugged. “She’s been with be since.”
“Very good show, boy.” Mervin eyed her from behind his desk. “Could I offer you any form of...” He paused as he rummaged through the mess of drawers. His desk was an absolute pigsty. The office reeked of old rotten food.
“No.” Vox spoke, his voice firm. “She’s with me and she’s only to be with me.” He smiled before he released her. “Take a seat.” He spoke in a soft voice. He took a seat next to her. “You have orders for the masses?” He asked then transitioning quickly from the topic of selling off Krysta to the pig before him.
Mervin drew his brows together as he puffed on his cigar. “There has to be something you’d trade for. Come on, Vox.” He licked his lips as he looked to her. “Just look at her.” He grinned.
Vox growled and stood, he slammed his hand onto the desk harshly, his eyes turned red as he leaned across the desk and grasped Mervin’s collar. “She. Is. Mine.” He spoke concisely. He sat back down and his eyes slowly melted back to the silvery color.
“Protective.” Mervin leaned over and lifted his cigar from the floor. It had fallen from his mouth when Vox grabbed him. “Well. Lucky girl.” Mervin eyed her once again as if she was a piece of meat dangling before him. “Orders. Orders.” He rummaged through the drawers his head down, he was paying no attention to the two now.
Vox glanced to Krysta, a smirk upon his lips. He gave a slight nod in Mervin’s direction. But he didn’t move a muscle. This was all up to Krysta...it was almost as if he was challenging her to do it.

It took all of Kyrsta's will power not to pull away from Vox when he stepped close. She focused on his words instead of his touch and proximity in order to keep her resolve strong as she looked into his silver eyes with her green ones. When he mentioned Ari trying to play match maker she thought back to what the demoness had said about being Aphrodite and wanting her wings back. Getting Vox and herself together was part of the plan but Krysta couldn't help but wonder if Ari also secretly hoped to match the demon and human together. Truthfully it was a pity, for Ari, her match wouldn't work simply because of a difference in lifespan. Krysta would grow old and die long before the Grim Reaper looked in Vox's direction. Well, that is if she managed to live to grow old.
Then their conversation took a different turn. He was going to deliver a member of the Circle to her? All of her uneasiness faded away and she gave him a wicked smile that would have made anyone who saw it think she was in fact a demon. The first step in the direction of being able to end the apocalypse. She was now ready to follow Vox where ever he wanted to take her and would do so happily. "Right behind you."
When they arrived at the warehouse she glanced around the outside of the building and gave a short frown as she saw vehicles and heavy machinery in use all around them. There was a lot of movement around and that did not bode well for her prospects of killing a Circle member. Whens he heard Vox's voice after he opened the door she entered the dark space and blinked several times to help her eyes adjust to the dim lighting after being out in the sunlight. As her sight became more clear and she saw the sheer number of demons that surrounded them she actually took a measure of comfort in Vox's hold as he grasped her waist. There was a hunger in their eyes that made her skin crawl.
The elevator they took to the second level was sketchy at best and she held onto the railing as she glanced over her shoulder to Vox just to see if he truly trusted the rusted out contraption. To her amazement it made it to the top, noisily and rather shakily she might add, but as the doors to the office opened up she wanted to run back to the lift. The stench was horrendous and when she laid eyes on the monstrosity before her she forced herself to keep a polite smile instead of gagging. When the demon got up to waddle over to them the hairs rose on the back of her neck. Yes, she was human and never had Krysta thought she would be this glad about Vox pulling her to his side and denying the demon the opportunity to buy or trade for her.
When they sat in the chairs she subtly wiped her hand on her pants, to remove the grease that had been deposited by the demon by just the one light touch. How this fat slob had managed to attain such a high rank with Lucifer was beyond her. Perhaps he just ate the others. While she was deliberating on the horrendous implications of her train of thought she nearly missed Vox's subtle motion towards Mervin.
No.
She wouldn't kill this demon, not here. Besides not wanting to touch anything the demon did due to the pure rancid smell that permeated from everything in the room it was just a horrible idea. Between Vox, herself and the exit to the warehouse there was a whole horde of demons. Demons who for all she knew were loyal to this thing before her. The dagger she used, when a kill was made, left very distinguishing marks on a demons body and there would be no denying what had happened to Mervin. Even if the demons below weren't loyal to the glutton they would be loyal to themselves and if Lucifer caught wind of Mervin being murdered by a holy blade during a visit from Vox the game would be up and all three of them would be killed. Krysta was all for high risk, but this was a bit to high. No, she had a different idea on how to kill this demon, in a much more subtle way.
Before Mervin could look up from his desk she gave a slight shake of her head to Vox and folded her hands in her lap as she sat on the very edge of her seat.

Vox watched as Krysta reacted to the fat slob of a demon. When she shook her head he raised a brow at her. To pass on a kill. No. She wouldn’t pass on a kill. He looked back to Mervin as he raised his head. “Vox.” He slapped an envelope onto the table. It had dried food stains on it. “That’s the orders.” His eyes looked to Krysta again and he licked his lips.
Vox wrinkled his nose as he looked to the dirty envelope. “Great.” He gave a forced smile. “Thanks again, Mervin. Always a pleasure to do business with you.” He stood and nodded to Krysta.
Mervin stood and leaned forward, “Come on, Vox.” He nearly pleaded. “Why don’t you leave the girl with me, just for an hour. I’ll deliver all the orders for you, even pay you. Anything you want...just...an hour of her...” He licked his lips again as if Krysta was a meal.
Vox moved between the two, his brows narrowed. “I told you no, Mervin.” He snarled, his demon fangs showed then as his eyes once again darkened to the red color. “Unless you want me to stand before Lucifer and explain to him why you’re dead I suggest you give it a rest old friend.”
Mervin frowned slightly, he found another cigar and lit it up. “If you reconsider, I’ll double my offer. Hell, I’ll deliver your orders for a year.” He snickered then. “Just for a piece of that.” He groaned slightly and then chuckled.
Vox wrapped his arm around Krysta and had to shake his head to keep his calm. “Well, good day, Mervin.” He held up the filthy envelope before he tugged Krysta along with him. He was dead silent as they stood in the old rusty lift elevator. His eyes looked to all the demons that looked to him, almost expectantly. He shook his head, his eyes still red with rage. It took until they were outside in the sunlight for Vox to truly calm back down. He opened the envelope and pulled out the papers from within. “Mail delivery service.” He spoke as he pulled the first letter. “30 orders.” He looked to her a moment. Vox then rubbed his face slightly, frustration written all over his expression. “I gave him to you.” He spoke as he walked down the road. “Were you afraid to kill that donut of a demon?” He asked with a chuckle. “Can’t say I blame you, he does have a whole arsenal of demons that would have noticed.” He shrugged slightly.
Vox walked up to a mailbox and opened it and slipped a letter inside. He lifted the red flag and then he walked along the street as he pulled another letter from the envelope. He paused and looked to her. “So, are you thankful I’m the demon that you happened to cross?” He smirked. “Out of all the demon at least Ari and I aren’t gluttons.” He shuddered. “At least I keep myself presentable. I don’t even know how that fucker gets out of that room.” He held a letter out to a man that passed them on the street. “Get it done.” Vox spoke to him and the demon nodded and continued on his path. Vox let out a sigh as he stopped walking. He smirked as he looked to her. “We have to get you different clothing.” He cracked a warm smile then. “Ari’s style doesn’t quite seem like it belongs on you.” He winked. “I much prefer the flannel shirt over that attire. But if that’s what you want to wear, I sure as hell won’t argue.” He laughed lightly as he pulled another letter out and sighed, this one would be all the way across town.

More offers and Krysta's skin crawled as he looked at her while licking his lips. Even if Vox did agree she would kill herself before she let that happen. She regretted wearing the revealing top she regretted even brushing her hair to make herself look presentable. At that moment she wished god had tapped her a few times with the ugly stick. Hell, she'd actually sleep with Vox if it kept her away from Mervin. Luckily it didn't come to that as Vox continued to put himself between her and the glutton and even threatened his life. Thank god for unbreakable deals with demons.
When they left the warehouse Krysta had even held onto Vox as well while he walked her out, even with his eyes shining the deep red color. Then once they were outside she felt like she could actually breathe, it was then she realized she had practically been holding her breath the entire time the had been inside. Only taking short breathes of air to keep from passing out.
"I'm not afraid of that blob." She told Vox. "I have a different idea that is far less dangerous and an almost guaranteed success. We;ll need to stop by the store or where ever it is you get food things. I know you mentioned an ordering service? Oh and I guess you'll be paying." She shrugged and smirked a bit.
Walking with him as he delivered the orders she shook her head at the casual nature that he handled the matter. Though she was impressed that he seemed to know where every demon lived within the city. "Vox, I'll be completely honest with you. If that thing had been what I was sent after instead of Lyle and ended up with you I would have killed it the first chance I got. That creature is a insult to everything that breathes on this planet."
At the mention of new clothing she raised an eyebrow and chuckled at his comment about her clothes. "Prefer a more modest girl do you?" She said in a teasing tone. "Or do you really not want to share?" She paused to see his reaction. "I could go shopping for some clothes of my own though. I'm sure Ari will appreciate not having to split her wardrobe with me as well." She looked down at the ridiculous corset and sighed. "I do prefer more functional clothing. Just thought you might want to see a little of what you don't remember from last night." She gave him another sweet smile at her last comment to keep up with the appearance they had actually had a good time.

Vox smirked as she spoke, “He is rather disgusting. Just imagine. Most demons are disgusting in one way or another.” He raised a brow when she spoke of food. The idea came to his mind as he realized she aimed to poison it somehow. “Holy water? Enchantment? Hmm we could for Domiel to bless the food before I chop off his head.” Vox made the motion as if he was going to slice something in two. “I can’t wait to see his head roll across the ground.” He grinned. “Honestly. I’ve been cutting out the corrupted angels over the years. One by one. It isn’t easy to get close to them. Close enough to kill. Especially for a demon to do so.” He smirked to her then as he tossed another letter up on the porch of a dilapidated home.
“Modest?” He shrugged. “I can tell you’re uncomfortable. You don’t have to try to impress me by the way you dress.” Vox paused and turned to her. “Hell if you were a demon.” He smirked and fell quiet for a few seconds. “Or if I were human.” He pondered the idea with a sly smile. “Maybe. Maybe Ari’s little match game wouldn’t be in vein. Possibly.” He seemed to think it over a bit harder as he began walking again. “Honestly Ari is all I’ve ever had. She found me when I was broken and she built me back up.” He shrugged then as he rounded a corner. Vox’s expression flattened. “Well....this is just great.” He muttered.
Ahead of them a group of demons walked their way toward the two. They drug the dead body of a human behind them along the pavement. Cackles and yells came from the group. They were like hyenas in demon form. Disgusting creatures. “Voxy!” The tall brute that seemed to be the leader called out. “Look at you.”
Vox’s eyes were trained on the men. He reached out and grabbed Krysta just as one of the others lunged toward her. “Fuller. What a surprise. What brings you to this little paradise?” Vox shot back. His hold on Krysta was protective. She would be able to feel the rapid rise and fall of his chest. He was afraid. Though he didn’t show it in his defensive expression.
Fuller grinned as he looked to her. “I need a new toy, Voxy boy. That looks like a prime candidate.” He stepped forward. “I can take her off your hands for you. Gladly.” He snickered. The four others with him cackled as well. “Don’t worry girl, you’ll enjoy yourself. Voxy boy is boring. We know how to party.”
Vox took a step back. “I won’t be handing her to you.” He spoke. “This isn’t your territory Fuller. You forget you’re in my house now.”
“This all belongs to Lucifer.” Fuller hissed as he lunged forward. He caught Vox’s arm and his claws slashed through his flesh enough for Vox to grit his teeth. His arm tightened around Krysta as he pulled his pistol. “Do it. Vox. Do it.” Fuller challenged. Then he nodded.
The demons rushed forward. Vox was able to pull the trigger once before they collided with them. Vox pushes them back and snarled. Though they were smart and they quickly overwhelmed him and ripped Krysta from his arms. The pistol clattered across the pavement. Fuller stood with a grin as the other four held Vox on the ground. One started in on him. Kicking. Punching. Vox cried out as a few of his ribs shattered. “Come on then girl.” Fuller looked to her. “Don’t make me chase you.”

As Vox delivered the orders to the various addresses Krysta kept pace with him with her hands behind her back and an amused smile upon her lips. "Oh, you'll see." She told him after he made the motion of killing Domiel. "You're very strange, Vox." She told him after listening to him talk for a little bit longer. "Your motivation for doing things doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me and you contradict yourself from time to time." She shook her head as if disappointed but before she could elaborate the sight of the demons dragging a body along the sidewalk demanded every bit of her attention.
As they smiled and laughed Krysta could feel her temper starting to rise up within her. These demons were the type of monsters that the angels spoke of when they talked of purging the world of evil. The more she interacted with other demons the more she found Ari's description of Vox to be correct. He really was a teddy bear of a demon in comparison, which was reaffirmed as Vox grabbed her as one of the demons lunged forward. The offer for her to leave Vox and 'party' with them was met with a scowl before the group rushed forward.
Before Krysta had the opportunity to react she felt Vox ripped away and the demon named Fuller was standing in front of her. "Run away?" She asked in a trembling voice, as if scared "Why would I do that? You'd just catch me."
"That's correct." Fuller said with a smug grin as he took another step forward and Krysta slowly backed away from him till she was up against the side of a building. "You're a smart girl. I like smart girls. They tend to be a bit more feisty." He reached forward and gripped a handful of her hair on the back of her head and forced himself up against her body and pinning her to the wall.
Fuller should have moved again after that, he should have torn at her clothes or even her flesh, but instead he only made a small groaning sound as he looked down at his chest. Krysta had pulled her blade from the hem of her pants when Vox had grabbed and pulled her out of the demon's reach initially. Then Fuller had been so eager to sink his teeth in her he hadn't noticed her slide the blade forward as he moved in, angled up, and touched his heart with the tip of the cool, blessed metal. Black lines crawled up his neck and face from the wound and he fell backwards from Krysta, dead before he hit the pavement.
"What the..?" Was all one of the lesser demons managed to say before Krysta snapped something on the bottom of her blade and flicked her wrist as she sent it flying towards him. The knife buried itself in his skull, between the eyes, and he also fell back from the force of the blow and dead as a door nail. With her opposite hand Krysta pulled a ring that was around her finger and attached to a thin wire that came out of the hilt of the blade and yanked the weapon free and back into her outstretched hand. It had taken her nearly the whole year to learn that trick but it paid off to have a weapon she could bring back to herself.
"She's got a angel's blade!" One of the remaining three demons yelled.
"And you fucked with the wrong human." She growled at them as she held up the knife as it smoldered from the demonic blood that burned off its blade.

Everything was a blur for Vox as he tried to move. With each blow to his body his reality seemed to threaten to slip away. It wasn’t until a demon lay next to him with a puncture through his skull that Vox regained some of his focus. The demon that was killed was the one that had been wailing on him from the second the other three held him down. He felt their hands loosen on him as they looked to the human in fear. “What the fuck?! I’ve never seen a human with something like that! Come on!” One of the three demons cried out as he turned to run.
The sound of a bullet slicing through flesh seemed to echo through the air as the remaining three demons dropped like flies. Vox rolled to his side as he coughed up a glob of blood. His body trembled as he tried to push himself up. Running down the street was the fiery haired demon Ari, though she didn’t hold her usual smile upon her lips as she rushed forward to Vox. She skidded to his side and shoved one of the bodies to the side. “Vox.” She rolled him onto his back. She grit her teeth. “Vox you have to focus on staying awake for me.” She glanced to Krysta, her eyes fell to Fuller’s body and then to the blade that the human held in her hand. “Get over here and help me, we need to get out of here before someone realizes it was you who killed them.” She grabbed Vox’s gun and shoved it back in the holster on his thigh. “Vox!” She shook him. His eyes barely cracked open.
Ari growled slightly as she moved swiftly. She wrapped his arm around her shoulders. “Get his other arm.” She ordered to Krysta. Vox’s head hung forward limply and blood leaked from his mouth. Ari started forward then at a quick pace. “Come on.” She rushed down the streets, her eyes constantly looking about. Eventually they walked down a set of concrete stairs and she beat upon a thick metal door with a thin slat the could be slid out of place to see whom was knocking. “Come on!” She growled, her eyes seemed fearful. She bashed on the door again.
The slat slid from place and a set of red eyes looked out to her. The eyes softened into a chestnut brown color. “Krysta...” The eyes moved. “Vox? Shit.” The slat slid shut and then there was a clanking sound as several bolts were pulled from place. “Come on.” The door was opened to reveal a petite woman. She had chestnut brown hair to match her eyes. She glanced to Krysta a moment before she ushered the three into the home. “What the hell happened?” She asked as she led them into a backroom and she pointed to a bed before she rushed about gathering supplies.
“Fuller’s group of goons.” Krysta replied.
“He needs to get shot between the eyes.” The woman instantly remarked as she began mixing a few powders together. Her eyes then fell upon Krysta. “You’re human.” She spoke and drew her brows together. “Why do you have a human?” She questioned and looked to Ari curiously.
Ari gave a slight smirk, “That’s Vox’s human, not mine. You’ll have to talk to him about it. Though, she’s going to play a pretty important role in the future.” She brushed Vox’s hair from his eyes, his chest rose and fell quickly. “Wouldn’t you say so, doll?” She looked to Krysta.
The small demon looked to Krysta with an almost judgmental stare. “Well.” She stepped forward. “Good thing you’re here hm?” She gave a small smile. “I need a little bit of your blood.” She then glanced to Ari before she looked back to Krysta. “I’m not sure how much you care about Vox dying or living, but I’m not going to allow him to die. He’s one of the few good ones. As I hope you have noticed.” She held her hand out, she held a small scalpel in her other hand. “Human blood can help give a demon a boost of power. Hopefully combined with the tonic it will keep him from dying.”
Ari looked to Krysta with almost pleading eyes in that moment. She then turned her eyes away to look to Vox. “Wake up, damnit.” She shook him, his eyes fluttered and slipped back shut. Ari grit her teeth, tears had brimmed her eyes.

Krysta had just reeled back her hand to throw her dagger again when she heard the gunshots ring out from down the street. She tensed and did a quick mental check of her own body to make sure that none of the bullets hit her but as the three remaining demons dropped she gave a short sigh of relief when she saw Ari running towards them. She slung her blade to the side, casting the remaining blood from the metal, and then slipped it back into its sheath along the small of her back before jogging up next to Vox to help Ari lift him from the ground. There was no hesitation in her actions and she moved as quickly as they could to carry him to where ever it was that Ari was leading.
When they reached the metal door and Ari banged on it to rouse the person inside Krysta looked down to Vox and realized she actually felt worry for the demon. Sure, he was the linchpin in her plans to end the apocalypse but she also found that he wasn't all that bad to be around. When considering the other demons that she had met that is. When the slot slid open on the door Krysta looked up to see the demonic eyes looking through at the three. It didn't take long for the door to be opened soon after though and they were ushered inside and to a room where the could deposit Vox onto a bed.
Krysta backed away from the bed in order to let the two demons work on Vox. It wasn't like she knew the first thing about demon first aid, but when the little brown hair demoness asked for some of her blood with a scalpel in her hand and again, without hesitation, Krysta held out her arm toward the demoness. "Just don't take to much." She told the woman and looked to Vox and Ari as she felt the prick on her skin and a slight burn from a small cut.
