Freya woke in the morning to the sun creeping over the water. She sat upward and listened to the waves crashed on the shore.. She stood and glanced to the fire which was still going – she raised a brow, Liliana must have tended to it over the night. She walked out to the beach and stretched her arms out – a content and refreshing feeling wafted over her… She turned then and went into the woods.
It didn’t take her long to spy a birds nest – she stood still and steel began to form under her feet, it grew higher and higher until she was even with the nest. She glanced down into it and plucked two eggs from the nest, leaving 3 other eggs there. “Thank you” she whispered to the nest and the platform began to lower to the ground. She then glanced up and grinned wildly. “Oh hell yeah” she formed an axe and threw it – two clunks hit the ground. She leaned down and picked them up, grinning wildly. Two coconuts.
She came back to the camp and sat before the fire. She created a lifted grate and a skillet – she set the skillet down and cracked the two eggs into it. She then created a spatula and chuckled to herself. As if surviving was hard for her. Sometimes she missed living in the wilderness, as she had for so long…
“Ah, good morning” she set a coconut down and formed a dagger, she drilled a hole into it and held it over a mug, draining the milk out into the cup. “We don’t have these where I live – and I’ll tell you what, I love it so much” she held a cup over to Liliana. She then cracked the coconut and began to break off chunks of the coconut meat.
She then created two plates and served the two eggs, some coconut and she set the pouch of berries before her. “You know” she set created two forks and set them down. “To become a shield maiden, or a warrior.. you have to survive in the wilderness for an entire year. You have to bring back trophies of your kills… A minimum of an elk, a boar and a bear. The more you bring back, the more respect you get...” she chuckled and took a bite of the coconut and chewed happily. She washed it down with the coconut milk and nodded happily.
“I never got to really do the trial officially… when my Clan declared all of the gifted to be killed – my father put me on a boat and sent me south. I survived in the forests for… so long, I don’t know how long, but I had forgotten how to really speak… I was on my own – but I had this. My gifts” she chuckled “Surviving was… easy. All of the things that you need to survive.. came so easily” she took another bite and then leaned back slightly.
“I came across a stranded woman though, Delia.. She taught me what it meant to be a human again. To socialize, to play games, to love and be loved” she chuckled. “I had been surviving for so long, I forgot what it meant to live” she shrugged. “We made our way to Denhead, and over time I’ve made my way all the way here. She inspired me to make some gold, get a boat to go back home.. without her, I suppose I’d still be living in a steel cabin in the middle of the forest...” she chuckled and then held the black steel fork up, with a piece of egg on it. “but that life was easy. I mean, not even a challenge” she grinned.
“I say we stay for a little.” she spoke and finished her coconut milk. “People are hunting you.. soon enough they’ll give up, assume you are dead. We can live in peace for a little, and then go back… Hm?” she raised a brow. “Or, if you want to pursue it while it’s hot, either way I’m with you. We can forage and pack the ship. Go and take the Shadow bitches down” she smirked.

Liliana looked over to Freya with a soft smile on her lips. “Ah yes, good morning.” She replied as she sat up and looked to the skillet. “Eggs?” She questioned, a grin upon her lips. “That sounds lovely.” She looked to the coconut as Freya drained the milk into a mug. “Oh, I’ve never had one of these before. We don’t have them in Presstria.” She took the mug and lifted it to her lips, she sniffed and furred her brows slightly before she took a drink. Liliana coughed slightly, her nose wrinkled. “It isn’t bad.” She laughed lightly, “Just thicker than I anticipated.” She smiled and took another drink, this time she did not gag on the coconut milk.
The young elf sat crosslegged and took the plate of eggs and coconut meat into her hands. She smiled as she took the fork that Freya made. “You do certainly have a knack for survival, and a leg up if I might add.” She chuckled lightly. “An entire year is a long time to be alone...” She thought about the trial. “To think. My biggest trial at the academy was to use destructive magic. Master Kellett was determined to teach me to defend myself.” She shrugged slightly, “He made me practice each day to use my magic in a way that I will never use it...” She laughed and shook her head. “Especially if I have you around.” She smirked. “You can protect me, so no need for that silly defense magic.”
Liliana munched upon the food, “Oh this is incredible.” She exclaimed and then giggled slightly. She was much happier than the previous day. The thoughts of her brother and father were momentarily out of her mind. She focused in on Freya as she spoke of her survival in the forest. She tilted her head slightly as she spoke of the woman Delia. The way she spoke of her caused Liliana to smile. “Denhead?” She raised her brows in curiosity. “Oh how incredible...I’ve only heard stories of Denhead, and to tell you the truth most of them are frightening enough to keep a girl like me away from those enchanted forests.” She laughed and shook her head. “The fey live there, and they don’t take a liking to any creature except the wood elves that live within Denhead. Is Delia a Wood Elf? Was that her home?” She asked the questions with curiosity in her eyes.
The young elf finished her meal and looked out over the beautiful beach. “I’d stay here forever if we could, to be honest. It is peaceful. I’ve always had something to do, a place to be. Even when I was a child I had to be up early to help my father with baking the goods for the bakery, then I had to be outside with the sign.” She chuckled lightly. “When I was sent to the academy the entire last year of my life I have been awake before the sun can even think of peaking over the horizon. For me to sleep so late.” She shook her head. “Hm, it feels lovely.” Liliana stood and chuckled as she walked toward the ocean. “I’ve never enjoyed the water.” She spoke as she watched the waves. “The port give the ocean a different appearance, so many ships and docks. This...it is magnificent.” She turned and looked to Freya. “Perhaps if we stay here long enough they will believe that we died. We can hope for that I do suppose.” She gave a soft smile.

Freya grinned when Liliana sipped the coconut milk. "Aquired taste, perhaps" she chuckled and took a bite. She lifted a brow as she spoke of the destructive magic. She thought of the tornado for a moment, her hues glanced down to her eggs and she took another bite. "Hm, I suppose" she smiled weakly. "You really don't like the idea of hurting people, do you?" she chuckled.
"The forests of Denhead are actually very pleasant" she perked up. "It was one of the most beautiful places I've been. The trees glow of different colors, plants sparkling with life. Everything moves and breaths, it's truly beautiful" she thought for a moment. "Dangerous, sure. Though, their saying is 'The Forest Knows', because it really does. Your intentions, your wishes... if you seek to destroy the forest, to harm anything in it - the forest knows" she nodded and then she took a bite of her coconut and thought for a moment.
"Delia was a wood elf, yes. They didn't mind me so much, to be honest. The other Wood Elves, the fey" she shrugged. "They're not as bad as people say" she smirked "but you are right - I could not stay. A guest, sure, but my place was not among them. So, I left. I learned much from them though, how to be resourceful but not destructive..." she shrugged slightly.
"This island seemed a pretty decent size, we should explore it later. Maybe stash up on some goods..." she stood then and stretched her arms. "But first..." she grinned and the walls and roof disappeared into ash. She held her hands up and thought for a moment. Suddenly black walls began to appear all about.
A living room formed before them, a large fireplace - with a cooking rack on it, and metal like couch before it. A small round table and two metal chairs formed off to the right. Then a square table for other things, like preparing food.... A door formed, one that actually open and closed functionally.. which lead to a porch that wrapped around the small home that miraculously began to form. It was a two bedroom home, with a large living room. The Roof had a high arch, and there were slatted windows that could be opened like barn windows. She grinned as it all came to, though all of black metal. "Could use some color... but it will do, hm?" she smirked and then stepped outside. A small outhouse formed and
She continued to hold her hands up and other things formed within - kitchen ware, a few buckets, a metal platform bed. "I can't do much for comfort, blankets or cushions" she chuckled. "but she will do" she stepped onto the metal deck and looked out to the sea. "Ah, I should go fishing too, oh that'll be fun" she smirked and glanced over. "So then, what first? We have plenty to do..." she smirked and crossed her arms.

“Acquired might be the correct word for it.” Liliana chuckled lightly as she gazed out over the beautiful beach. She quirked her head slightly as she noticed the almost forced smile that Freya had given her. “No. No I don’t like the idea of hurting anyone.” She spoke and then drew in a breath. “I know that unfortunately there is a time and a place for it. But I would much rather not. Master Kellett ensured me that one day I would need to use my magic to defend myself…” She shook her head. “I am not certain that I am even capable of it. The thought of causing pain to another being.” She winced to the idea. She snapped her fingers and held a small ball of fire in her hands. “I use this to heal.” She nodded and a smile curved up her lips. “I know that with the same fire that I save those ailments with I can then flip a coin and those fires can cause massive destruction. Kellett showed me this, he taught me this.” Liliana turned her eyes to a log that sat upon the beach. She chucked the fireball at it and the log burst into flames. “Imagine if that was a living creature.” Her voice was merely a whisper. “I do not want to imagine the sounds of the cries that would be called out by the poor soul that I light aflame…I’ve seen someone burned at the stake once before. It was terrible. The smell was really…awful. Though…the fire that I produce is much hotter than that of a bonfire…” She shrugged slightly and sighed. “Apologies.” She bit her lower lip and looked away from Freya then. As the woman began to speak of Denhead her attention sparked once more, and a soft smile curved up her lips as she listened to the story. “How interesting.” She smiled, curious. “There is so much magic said to be within Fey forests like that one. I can only imagine how incredible it must have been.” She looked once again to the sea and a soft sigh came over her lips. “it must have been difficult to leave behind.” Liliana stood and gazed up to the roof of the structure as it disappeared. She gazed about and spun around as the structure was formed around her. Her expression was of complete awe. She grinned and let out a giggle. “Perhaps we should find something to make the home a bit more comfortable?” She grinned. “Who knows what we might find!” She walked out the front door and turned to the thick forest. “Come on.” She smiled as she walked into the forest. She gazed up to the canopy with a smile upon her lips. It was like a thick rainforest. Completely different from the climate that Presstria held. “It’s beautiful here.” She spoke as she walked along the unbeaten path. “Quiet. Untouched.” She turned and walked backwards a chuckle came over her lips. “Perhaps we shouldn’t leave.” She turned back around to take in her surroundings as she walked along. As Liliana made her way through the forest nearly an hour in they came to a clearing. She walked up to a huge broken statue that lay upon the ground before her. The head was nearly 4 times her size and crumbled. “Woah…” She reached forward and touched it. The writing upon the statue was ancient, unlike anything she’d ever seen. She glanced back to Freya, “Have you seen anything quite like this?” She asked as she walked around it taking it in. Pillars stood around the statue, some crumbled others barely holding on. “What was this place.” She spoke as she walked forward toward a staircase that was partially visible, most of the forest had started to overtake it from years of it sitting untouched. Liliana walked up the staircase and gazed about. Suddenly she felt a prick in her thigh. She gazed down to see a red feathered dart sticking from her leg. She pulled it from her thigh and stumbled slightly. “F…Freya…” She stumbled and fell to her knees. As Liliana fell to her knees a human emerged from the thick foliage. Primal looking. He wore warpaint upon his face, bright feathers and leather clothing. He spoke to her, but it was in another language. She felt hands under her arms and her head lulled to the side. He pointed in the direction that Freya had been. They must have caught her by surprise as well. “Freya…” Liliana spoke her voice weak as her vision went black. ** “Wake up.” A voice spoke. “Child of the light, wake.” Liliana’s shoulder was shaken then. “Wake girl.” Another shake. Liliana’s eyes cracked open almost drunkenly. “Yes there you are. A child of light that travels with a child of dark.” The woman had thick braids in her hair, dark toned skin and runes drawn upon her face. Her accent was thick, it was clear that she did not normally speak Liliana’s language. Liliana looked down to her wrists which were tied with a glowing rope. “Wh…what’s going on?” She questioned. “It is known that a child of light will show at our steps with a child of dark.” The woman spoke cryptically a wild grin upon her lips. “The prophecy will soon be fulfilled.” She moved and lit a bunch of herbs on fire and shook them over the top of Liliana, the ashes fell over her skin. “I can see it now.” The woman smiled and then began to speak in another language. She spoke for several minutes before she lifted a doll into her hands, she grinned to Liliana as the doll began to float and it lit aflame. “Child you shall save us from this hell.” The woman spoke and grasped the doll out of the air, the flames instantly went out. “You and the child of dark.” She smiled and then suddenly she stepped from the room. Liliana moved slightly to realize she was also tied to something, a pole perhaps. She furrowed her brows. “Freya?” She called out. “Freya are you here?” Tears welled in her eyes. They should have left the island when they could. Now she feared the worst. Who were these people? What did they want with her and Freya? Tribal VooDoo Woman

Freya smirked and followed behind Liliana. “It is really pretty” she laughed. “Where I come from – it’s all snow. I sometimes missing that crunching, but – never this green and full of life” she laughed then. “I sound silly...” she shrugged. “Don’t tell anyone I am a hopeless romantic with nature, takes away from the fear factor I have” she grinned and stepped over a large brush.
As they came to a clearing – Freya let out a awe inspired sound, she stepped over to the statue and placed a hand upon it. “I have seen ruins before, but nothing this cool” she traced an engraving on the stone and then turned – she held a hand out right as she watched Liliana fall. “Lilly!” she rushed over.
It was then that she felt a pin in her shoulder. She looked down and gripped the dart and pulled it out. She tossed it to the side and then grit her teeth. She felt a light dizziness, but she stumbled forward and gripped a man before her. She brought her arm back and punched him directly in the face. She heard several calls around her – one prick on her neck. Another in her thigh. She felt the world spinning before her – but she did not stop. She cried outward and reached for another man… but it was not a man. She gripped a crumbling statue and pulled back her fist once more. She slammed her hand into the stone and cried out in a pain as her knuckles cracked.
She turned – the world was nothing but a swirling mass of color, as if it was all water and blended into a thick smoothie. She saw a man before her – he watched as she hit the ground in darkness…
***
Freya woke – she was lifted upwards, her arms hoisted with leather straps, tied to large wooden beams. Her ankles were also bound by leather. Before her was a large fire – with several odd looking people standing around it. Her gaze was still foggy – her mind numb and lost. So much that she was currently drooling as she peered forward.
“The dark one is awake” one spoke in a broken voice. Her dull hues looked to the people before her – five men stood with darts ready. “Do not fear, dark one” a woman spoke as she came closer.
Freya struggled against the leather but she was weak – whatever they hit her with was very strong, and still lingering in her blood.
“You wake many times, furious with rage. We had to put you out every time… so..” the woman grazed Freya’s cheek with a finger. “You stay calm, and awake, hm?” she smirked and then pricked Freya’s cheek with her long nail. She took a bit of blood onto her finger and licked it with a long dark tongue, she smacked her lips and nodded. “Oooh, the darkness in you. So potent. So sweet. No worry though, dark one. You are not for eating...” she laughed then, a kind of cackling.
“Go get the Light one, show our dark friend she is safe, hm?” she grinned as she circled the bon fire...

Liliana felt as though the world was under water. She struggled against the bonds. Her breathing quickened and she closed her eyes as the room spun. Flames flickered to life within her fingertips. Fire swirled around her for a split second and then fizzled out. Her brows pulled together. “What...” She muttered as she tried to create her flames again to find that her magic was unresponsive. Her head lulled to the side as darkness overtook her once again.
What felt like hours later she felt hands beneath her armpits. She opened her eyes briefly and attempted to struggle. A chuckle came from one of the people that carried her, and he spoke in another language. Liliana groaned and struggled again, flames sparked at her fingertips only to fizzle out. She felt the pinch of something against her neck. The world became heavy, her eyes were difficult to keep open. Her feet drug along the ground as two men carried her along. The ropes that bound her wrists together glowed each time she tried to use her powers.
Soon enough she felt the cold of stone against her cheek, her hands lay beneath her. A woman spoke in another language, angrily. She felt her body lifted and her head lulled forward. Suddenly her chin was grasped which caused Liliana to suck in a sharp breath, her eyes widened as she gazed into the eyes of the tribal woman once again. “Child of the light.” She grinned as she gazed into her eyes. “You cause trouble for my men, hm?” She chuckled and then nodded to them. The heat from the bonfire caused Liliana’s eyes to turn toward the flickering flames.
“Freya!” Liliana spoke, though her voice was weak from the sedatives that were given to her. She struggled against the men and she toppled to the ground and to her back. She took in quick breaths as she groaned, she pulled against the ropes attempting to free herself. “Let me go...” She snapped as she tried to break the bonds.
“She’s got a fire inside of her.” The woman chuckled as she walked back over to Freya. “You’ve seen it haven’t you?” She asked with curious hues. “You’ve seen her catch fire.” She turned and looked to the men and women that lined the room. She began to speak in the tribal language to her people. The sound of drums began to play.
Liliana was attached to leather straps as well and hoisted up just like Freya. She struggled against the restraints and let out cries as she tried to free herself. Her eyes glowed like the embers of a fire. As the woman continued to speak the people within the room began to gather. More and more came from within the temple. As they gathered the people began to chant as well. “Stop!” Liliana cried as she was hoisted toward the fire. “Stop!” She kicked as they moved her toward the bonfire. “Please!” She begged as the flames licked at her boots. Her eyes looked to Freya in fear as suddenly she was dropped into the fires.
The chanting continued loudly now, the drumming filled the stone room of the temple. The voodoo woman danced around and cut into the hands of many and collected their blood. She drew runes in blood upon the floor that soon began to glow a bright red as the ritual continued. Then suddenly there was a burst from within the bonfire, almost as if the flames had reached a stronger force for fuel. The woman grinned as she looked to the flames that swirled about. She chanted out and lifted her hands into the air. The flames swirled to life much like to tornado that Liliana had created upon the ship. Then suddenly the flames sank inward to leave only ashes behind...but in the center of the ashes lay Liliana untouched by the flames.
The room fell into silence. The people muttered amongst themselves. The woman grinned as she stepped forward to where the bonfire had once stood. She looked to Liliana and knelt to her side. She spoke to her people and after several minutes of a long speech she turned and held her hand toward Freya. The room cheered. Though soon enough the room emptied out. The woman stood from Liliana and stepped to Freya. “This child of light has given her very soul to protect our people. Will you do the same when offered to the fires?” She questioned with a wild grin upon her lips. “The prophecy is written. It must be so.”
"Freya..." Liliana's eyes fluttered as she began to wake. She sat up only for the woman to rush to her. Liliana reached a hand forward and flames flickered from her fingertips and wrapped around the woman's arm much like a rope. The woman let out a cry of pain and fell to the floor to bow before Liliana. The young elf stood shakily. She stumbled and reached her hand forward to the mechanism that held Freya suspended in the air. The mechanism melted to her touch. Her eyes glowed still like that of the embers of a fire.
"Light one." The woman stood and looked to her with a wild smile. "You must save us. It is your sacrifice as well as the sacrifice of this child of dark that will save us. Look at you...born anew..." She held her hands out with a smile.
"I am not a god." She spoke as she looked to the woman. "We are just people. There is no prophecy with my name upon it." She leaned against the wall heavily as her eyes fluttered. "Who are you people...?" She narrowed her brows.
"We are the Night Dragon Kin..." The woman spoke, she called something out then to her people. "I am Darmita and you child of light are going nowhere." Liliana lifted her hand and just as flames flickered to life a dart lodged within her neck. She let out a breath as she fell to Freya's feet. Flames flickered across the ground. Darmita looked to Liliana a long moment before her eyes settled in on Freya and a wicked smile curved up her lips.

Freya pulled against her leather straps as they toted Liliana upward, she screamed as she watched. She watched the fire dance around Liliana. She pulled harder and harder but the poles and leather would not give. Though it was an amazing sight – watching the body emerge from the fire, glowing brightly. Her jaw loosened and she watched Liliana closely.
As the leather melted away she landed on the ground in a thud. She was face first into the mud. She fought the lull of the medicines in her blood. The woman’s voice was muffled but she heard it enough, some kind of prophecy… She lifted her arms so that her face emerged from the mud – covered from eyebrow to chin.
She grit her teeth and stood – she wobbled slightly and held a hand forward. “Stop” she spoke. “Whatever the hell you want, fine. But if you put another fucking dart in my neck, or hers… I’ll show you how godly I truly can be...” she spat “whatever the fuck you want, whoever you want me to kill. Fine” she spat a glob of mud to the ground and peered to the people.
“You want fire?!” She questioned and looked around. She held her hand out and suddenly her skin became lined with shining black metal. A helmet appeared over her head. Though it was not the traditional armor of a knight. This armor stayed close to her figure, it was smooth and flexible. She looked to the bonfire that had regrown. She stepped to the fire, the boots of her armor crunching over the logs. She fire raged around her and licked her metal – though it did not burn her. She with standed it easily.
“Shoot your darts. Your bows. Swing your axes” she called out. She held a hand outward and a giant battle axe formed in her hand. “but touch Liliana and I’ll murder you all” she spoke through grit teeth. She swung the axe down onto the fire and the gust of wind from her motion blew the whole thing out, leaving red embers under her boots.
She stepped off the fire and her armor turned to ash, leaving her in the leather armor previously. She let go of the axe and it also disappeared into ash. “So, Night Dragon Kin. What will it be?” she spoke with anger over her face.

Darmita grinned as she watched Freya stand and the armor form around her. She looked to Liliana whom lay unconscious at her feet. She smiled as she watched Freya step forward into the bonfire. She began speaking to her people in her native tongue, most likely speaking what Freya spoke. Darmita held up a hand as many of the warriors prepared to attack Freya. “There will be no need for that dark one.” She spoke with a grin still upon her lips. “We will not touch this Liliana.” She glanced to Liliana whom still lay unconscious upon the ground. “You’ve shown great strength. Even more strength than the prophecy entails.” She grinned. “You will save us.” She spoke. “Come.” She spoke in her language to a man whom cautiously stepped forward and lifted Liliana into his arms, his eyes stared to Freya, fear showed in his expression.
Liliana groaned slightly, but she didn’t wake. Darmita let Freya through the halls of the temple. “This is the only place that we have remained safe. For years we have been driven to live beneath the ground. We are tormented by the same dragon that was once our kin.” She walked into a room and nodded to the man. There were two beds in the room to which the man set Liliana on one before he scurried away. “I will feed you dark one, and we will tend to the light one.” She rubbed her arm where singe marks still remained. “You will go to the Night Dragon’s cavern.” She nodded. “You will save us from him. Then you may leave. Only after you have completed this task.” She smiled and then stepped to Liliana as she pulled a vial from a pouch upon her hip. She poured the liquid into the elf’s mouth and watched as Liliana gagged slightly. “For you.” She stepped to Freya and bowed her head as she held out another vial. “It will put an end to the effects of the darts.” She grinned. “Now, what do you say Dark one?” She questioned. “Will you help us? As the prophecy suggests? So that we can go back to living above the ground….like we did so many years ago.”
Liliana rolled to her side and groaned as she began to wake. “Freya...” She breathed, her voice fearful. Her eyes fell upon Darmita and Liliana immediately scrambled to her feet. She stumbled and held herself up with the wall. "Let us go. We are not gods. We cannot help you." She spoke with a sharp tone to her voice.

Freya watched the men lift Liliana and she followed behind Darmita. She grit her teeth and nearly growled at one man who cowered before her. She smirked slightly and then followed into the temple. Her hues looked over the temple – it’s details and colors…
She reached forward as the woman offered the vial – she reached to it and popped the cork on it and swigged it down with ease. Freya coughed slightly and felt a churning in her stomach – but immediately the haze of the drugs faded away. She held the vial close slightly and then nodded.
She looked to the people – she could see the toll on their body. People who had been living in darkness for years, fearing the beautiful forest that they lived in. She shut her eyes briefly and then let out a sigh.. It was then that Liliana woke up. “Relax” Freya spoke and then sighed.
“We’re not gods, but we can help” Freya spoke and crossed her arms. “I’ve done a lot more for a lot less, like rescuing you from being jailbait...” she looked to Darmita and then nodded. “We’ll do it, or at a minimum… I’ll do it” she eyed Liliana for a moment. “Prophecy, no prophecy… I’ve never faced a dragon, and honestly...” she smirked then “that sounds like fun to me...” she chuckled.
“Tell me about this dragon… how big is he, do you know how it likes to fight?” she questioned and tilted her head curiously.

Darmita turned her gaze to Liliana and then back to Freya a chuckle came over her lips when she saw Liliana relax slightly. “He is a formidable beast.” She spoke as she pulled a wrap from her pouch and began wrapping the injury upon her arm.
Liliana frowned slightly and let out a breath as she stepped forward. “Allow me.” She spoke she lifted her eyes to the woman a moment before she let out a breath as flames licked along the flesh of the woman. Darmita gazed to it in awe a grin upon her lips as she saw the power of Liliana. “Continue.” She spoke as she moved to stand next to Freya.
“He is an adult dragon, centuries old. He is smart in the way that he hunts and the way that he preys upon our people. Our cities used to be above ground. I’m certain you saw the ruins. We can bring those temples back to life if he is no longer a threat.” She nodded. “Our shaman before he died spoke of a child of light and a child of darkness and I have prayed to the gods each day for you two come.” She walked about the room, thinking it seemed. “The dragon is Narvug, the dark one...he possesses magic that is of the shadows. His magic can crush anything that he sets his mind to destroy. Much like our statues and temples above...he is ruthless. If he does not use his magic he will use his jaws to crush you, or his claws to shred you to pieces. Many of our warriors have tried to bring him down….only for fail...”
“Freya...” Liliana looked to the woman with concerned eyes. “This...is not...” She shook her head and let out a breath. “I will go...if you think that we can...but I...I have never seen a dragon.”

Freya crossed her arms as Darmita spoke of the dragon, she looked to Liliana and then grinned. “You think a Dragon can kill me Liliana, come on – have you no faith?” she chuckled then and nodded. “Think of a dragon as a wolf with wings, hm?” she smirked. “I won’t let him harm you… as if he could anyways...” she reached forward and placed a hand on her shoulder. “We can do something good here...” she spoke in a soft voice.
“I’ve been killing people because someone else says to, for no reason. This is an opportunity to free an entire society of people – crushed by this threat...” she shook her head. “You are far more powerful than you can imagine, trust me. I believe you can do this… I mean… really – you’re here to put my arm back on my body if he rips it off, hm?” she grinned.
“So… about that food?” she looked to Darmita and then gripped her stomach. They must have been knocked out nearly the whole day, as her stomach churned. “I’ve had enough rest for a day, I suppose we could go after we eat…” she spoke as she glanced to Liliana, waiting for her approval.

Liliana gave a slight chuckle to Freya. “It’s a dragon.” She smirked, “I’ve heard of dragons on the eastern continent destroying many things...but dragons have never really frequented the western lands...I thought they just didn’t fly over the great sea.” She looked to Darmita whom looked to her with hopeful eyes. “You know.” She spoke as she looked to the woman. “Capturing us. Holding us captive and drugging us...throwing me into a bonfire...” She laughed, “That doesn’t sound like something that should be done to a potential savior. Does it?” She raised a brow and chuckled.
Darmita drew in a breath, “Well...the dark one was very strong...and you nearly killed several of my warriors with your fire.” She spoke and crossed her arms.
“I...” Liliana furrowed her brows, she couldn’t remember. “You must be mistaken.” She shook her head.
Darmita watched her a moment before she looked to Freya. “Yes food, of course.” She waved for them to follow her. She led them through the temple and into a cluster of cavernous halls. Soon enough the sound of many men and women speaking filled their ears and the smell of freshly cooked stew would fill their nostrils. As they entered the room the people looked to the two with curious eyes, some with fear. Darmita gathered two bowls of stew and set them at an old wooden table. She came back with two mugs of ale. “Courage.” She spoke with a smile. “Thank you. My people thank you. You will succeed. I know it. It has been told. When you are finished eating.” She turned her eyes to a man that stood across the room. “Ruca shall lead you to the surface and to the cavern of Narvug. Our gods will be watching over you.” She bowed and then stepped away only to be approached by several men and women that asked many questions of her.
Liliana looked to the stew a long moment before she took a bite from it. The stew tasted like nothing she’d ever had before. It was full of flavor and seemed to melt in her mouth. She grinned as she ate it. “This is incredible.” She spoke and then she took a drink of the dark ale that was placed before her. “Oh wow...” She exclaimed and drank it down. Before she knew it her food was gone. “I was starving...how long do you think they kept us under like that?” She furrowed her brows. “Freya...what she said...about me hurting her people...I...I don’t remember it...they must have had be drugged so heavily that I cannot remember.” She sighed softly. “I wouldn’t have hurt them if I was in my right state of mind...”

Freya moved behind them – her eyes looking over the beautiful temple. As they came to the eating hall – she took a seat and then grinned to some that stared to her. She accepted the bowl of stew and her smile got bright to the ale. Before she even ate she downed her entire mug of ale and then leaned back. “Now that is a beautiful brew” she looked to Liliana with a grin “Maybe we should stay hm? We could maybe trade with these people… this ale… ugh. Can I get another?” she held the empty mug up.
A man came by with another and handed to her. “Skol my friend” she held it up and took a huge swig. She then leaned forward and took a spoonful of the stew. She let out a pleasurable groan and then she lifted the bowl and took a long drink from it.
Soon enough her meal was gone. “Yeah, I was starving too… I don’t know how long, a good while..” she chuckled and then she leaned back, looking around the room. Her attention was broken by Liliana’s comment… she took a breath and let it go slowly.
“You don’t remember?” she questioned softly. “Maybe the drugs, or maybe you blocked it out… but I saw you. You lashed out in fear, maybe a little bit of anger. I think it was reactional… not intentional, your inner survival instincts..” she looked to Liliana with serious eyes. “Your master was right to teach you defense. Not because you would need it, but because – if you don’t learn, it will control you. When you become scared, or upset… who is to say what happens then? This power in us..” she touched her own chest then with one finger. “I feel like within me like a fire. I can stoke it and tend to it, try to understand it – even control it… but sometimes the fire gets bigger than I knew it could. Sometimes I let it rage… but you and I.. we must know our limits, we must know what to do when it rages.. hm?” she shook her head.
“Some old guy – he tended to my wounds, years ago. His name was...” she pondered a moment. “Mormand Highgrove” she looked to her then. She spoke his name like she didn’t know who he was, but in fact she did. He was a legendary elven mage, who had secluded himself in the mountains to focus on his studies… many sought him out to try to get him to teach them, but most could never find him due to his illusions that surrounded his home and forest.
“He said something to me… ‘Fear is the ultimate weapon of the Gods, it will manipulate men into believing a divine, and others to claim its integrity. The only way to over power the Will of the Gods, is to stop fearing it’” she scoffed then and then shook her head. “The more and more I think of it… the more I believe it, the more I question my own gods and beliefs...” she looked to him “I think ultimately that is why he had to move away” she laughed “but I don’t know, he taught me a lot. He taught me that – this.. whatever it is within us. If we fear it, it will control us. If we seek it out… the opportunities are endless for us. His words” she finished her ale and then stood.
“Come on then, let’s kill a dragon”

Liliana furrowed her brows as she looked to Freya. She listened to the woman speak of the actions that she did not remember. “Kellett spoke that fear is the most dangerous thing to living beings. It makes us do thing that we would never dream of doing.” She let out a sigh and shook her head slightly.
When Freya began to speak of the man that tended to her wounds she raised a brow. “Mormand Highgrove….?” She asked with slightly widened eyes. “Highgrove?” She spoke the name again after Freya had finished her story. “He was the mage who taught Kellett. He is a legend!” She exclaimed excitedly. “He’s right. Everything that he said.” She grinned, “That is Kellett’s whole system...it is based off of what he learned from Highgrove.” She chuckled, “See? You basically went to the academy too.” She smirked as she stood from the table. “Just, the original master.” She winked. Liliana seemed to be in higher spirits as she walked over to the man named Ruca whom eyed her a moment. “We are ready to face Nar...vug?” She glanced back to Freya to make sure the wording was correct.
“Narvug.” The man spoke back and gave a nod. He turned and led them through the caverns and up several carved stairs. He then led them into the moonlight of the forest and they traversed for nearly and hour in silence. Liliana would glance back to Freya with curious hues. “There.” The man pointed to a huge gaping cavern in the wall of a mountain. “Narvug.” There was a great roar from the distance. The man’s eyes grew wide and he rushed away without another word.
Liliana glanced to Freya, her heart pounded within her chest. “Um...how...how big are dragons again?” She questioned as she stared back to the gaping hole of a cavern. “He...uh...he sounds big...”

Freya smirked as she recognized the man… “Huh, that is pretty amazing. I knew he was special, and I heard people say his name before. I’ve never actually told someone that I knew him. I lived with him for a few months, helped him around… he studied me for a little, and then sent me on my way.” she laughed “He is a smart man, said a lot of smart things. I only wish I was a little smarter – I would have wrote them all down and remembered it all” she chuckled and then nodded.
Soon enough they came to the forest. Freya stepped back slightly as the roar shook the trees. She sucked in a breath and then smirked as the man ran away. “Alright...” she nodded. “He’ll be big, and scary, with giant teeth… but he bleeds, like everything else.” she held a hand out. Suddenly she became surrounded by the black armor once more. “Their weakness will be magic. I have no idea how my weapons will fair against his scales… I will go for his eyes, mouth, and any gapes in his scales I can. You...” she glanced to her.
“I saw you lasso a man down with a whip of fire… That could be useful here. Your fire – it’s hotter than any flame..” she smiled “if you get scared… just tap into it, let the fire go. It will do all the work for you. With this armor – I will be fine. Okay? We’ll work together, we’ll take him down” she spoke and then she formed a large battle axe in her hand. “Too bad there’s no on here to sing of the Viking Woman who defeated a Western Dragon” she laughed and then rushed forward.
“We are powerful together” she called back as she looked behind to Liliana. “Don’t forget that. They said – Light and Dark one, not just the Light one, not just the dark one! Together” she cried out and made her way up to the cavern.
As she came to the entrance – her hues looked through the slats in her armor. She looked to the piles of bones around, the scraping marks on the ground from his body and tail, no doubt. She heard a stirring in the cavern and she gripped the axe with two hands…
“Narvug” she called out. “Your time has come…” she gripped the axe… “I don’t want to have to kill you...” she called out. She stepped a foot back, assuming a battle stance as she felt the earth rumble. The giant steps of the dragon shook the earth as he came out of the cavern.
His head appeared first, emerging from the darkness. She spied the huge curving horns that pierced the sky… his large bulking head. Eyes that were massive and glowing yellow… It leaned down and looked directly at Freya. He was so close she could feel his hot breath coming from his nostrils. The nostrils were so big that she could easily fit her whole arm in it, if she wanted. Though she did not – she gripped the axe and felt a pit in her stomach.
