Liliana let out a wispy laugh as she looked over Freya. “I’ll not let you go to Valhalla yet.” She smirked slightly. Though there was a sense of exhaustion behind her smile. When Freya continued on Liliana laughed and sat on the edge of the bed and leaned her back against the wall. “No, I’m not a princess, Freya. I would have certainly told you, my only friend, that.” She looked to her with her crystal hues for a long moment. “But...I did manage to get us out of this mess because I look quite a lot like the princess...because...well...” She paused and drew in a breath. It didn’t feel real even to think it. “The Queen is my aunt...I um...didn’t know about that until last night.” She looked to Freya for a moment. “My mother apparently fled Erwania...in search of a more peaceful place. So...that is why I have similarities to the princess, I’m her cousin.”
Liliana leaned her head back and closed her eyes slightly. “The princess had the same illness that my mother died of. I made a promise to the queen that I could heal her daughter in exchange for your freedom and the rest of the crew to go free as well.” She fell quiet then for a long moment as she gathered herself. “I don’t remember coming to this room.” She let out a soft laugh. “I collapsed after I healed the princess...I can only assume that I drew the illness from her. I hope that it doesn’t relapse...I spent much of my childhood healing my mother...then she would fall ill again...and I would heal her once again...and again and again...just for the illness to get worse the next time around. I wasn’t strong enough to pull the illness from my mother so...it just kept coming back.” She sighed softly.
The door pushed open then and in walked the captain of the guard. He bowed deeply. “Lady Liliana. It is good to see that you are awake.” His eyes looked to Freya. “My lady. I do apologize for the treatment that you received. It looks as though you have recovered well from it. The Queen wishes to see you both. When you are prepared, please feel free to meet me in the hall.” He bowed deeply once again and then turned and stepped from the room.
Liliana let out a tired laugh. “I’m no lady.” She smirked to Freya. “I’m a baker’s daughter.” She giggled lightly.
