Amalliey didn’t respond to Lynn as she yelled at her. She let out a giggle when Lynn asked her what she was laughing at what she was thinking. She was deep under the spell. She pulled her knees up to her chest as she sat on the bed. She looked to Lynn as she sat down, defeated. The yellow swirl in her eyes subsided, and concern washed over her face. “Lynn…” She whispered softly. “I’m…I’m sorry…” Her brows tucked together slightly and then relaxed as the yellow swirl returned. Her concerned expression faded away and she smiled again.
**
“Castile.” The gate lord spoke, he appeared in the mirror of the knight’s room.
Castile turned and looked to him, his arms crossed. He didn’t speak he stared to the demon.
“Did you not listen to me when I told you I would punish you?” He growled.
“She’s under my spell, I have control over her.” He spoke, “What more did you want?”
The gate lord chuckled. “Oh silly angel.”
Castile fell to his knees, he let out a groan of pain and held his chest. Blood began to pour from his nose. He gripped onto the floor and cried in pain. “St-stop…” He cried, his eyes were red now. “Please…” He begged.
The demon snickered, “Ah to have an angel as your very own servant.” He watched him. “I want her. I told you this. Get her for me. Go on, fetch.” He vanished.
Castile choked as he slowly stood himself up. His eyes slowly faded back to the entrancing yellow. He was trapped by the demon. As trapped as Lynn had been when the king forced her to summon the gate lord.
**
Amalliey took in a quick breath. “I…” She stood and took a step forward. She hesitated then, she grit her teeth. The yellow disappeared from her eyes again. “Lynn….” She spoke, her voice weak. She turned slightly and looked to the archmage.
Come to me, Amalliey. Castile spoke in her mind.
Amalliey’s eyes swirled with the yellow color again, she faltered in her steps slightly. Xavier gripped her by her shoulders. “You’re not going anywhere, Amalliey.” He held her, she pushed against him though she seemed weak under this trance. She was trying to fight against it. Xavier looked to Lynn as he lifted his daughter and set her back on the bed next to Lynn. He sighed heavily. “She’s going to be a handful.” He spoke and looked to her.
The blue returned to Amalliey’s eyes, she took in a few quick breaths, tears welled in her eyes as she fought against the spell.
Xavier stood and took a step back. “I’ll be outside…” He spoke, “Just in case she tries to escape.”
**
Castile walked through the night streets, he held onto his chest. He’d been trapped for centuries to this demon. He was captured by him in the time of the dragon mage war. He stumbled slightly. “Just…kill me…” He whispered softly as he sat down before the inn. “I will not deliver another object for you to destroy everything again with.”
**
“I need to go to Castile.” Amalliey spoke and stood, her eyes swirled with the magic. “He is calling for me, I must go.” Her voice was soft, it trembled as she spoke.

Lynn looked to Xavier as he left an she slowly stood up, exhaling slowly. “You got this… just uh…” she perked up when Amalliey called to her. “Amalliey” she rushed over suddenly and paused – her eyes gazing into Amalliey’s swirling orbs…
Then her eyes slipped back to her original – Amalliey struggled, she could tell. Lynn’s eyebrows squeezed together. As Amalliey stood – Lynn could see her muscles fighting against her. “No – no you don’t” Lynn whispered and placed her hand on Amalliey’s hand, another on her shoulder. Their bodies pushed against her now as Lynn tried to push her back. With force – Lynn broke Amalliey’s strength and they both fell back onto the bed.
Lynn’s legs straddled her, holding her down. “Don’t go” Lynn spoke and shook her head. “He’s ugly and fake and he’ll just break your heart” she spoke and cupped her cheek with her hand. “I know how to fix it but god damnit I’m having a hard time doing it” she spoke with frustration. He legs squeezed her as Amalliey struggled.
“If you’re in there… help me do this… I’d didn’t dream it to go like this” She whispered as she began to lean down. She felt Amalliey’s body relax for a second – and then their lips touch. Lynn sunk into Amalliey’s arms, her entire body fluttered with energy, her muscle got weak and her heart thumped fast. However, seconds passed and yet she didn’t pull away. It developed into a beautiful kiss that was full of passion, and maybe a tiny bit of lust, a touch of jealousy too…
Finally Lynn pulled away and took in a sudden fast breath, like she had forgotten. “I um. Uh..” she scrambled off of Amalliey and stumbled back into the chair she practically hyperventilated…

Amalliey was tense as she tried to fight against the spell. The world spun. As she lay on her back she regained control for just that moment, just as Lynn’s lips pressed to hers. Her hand moved to Lynn’s cheek, she kissed her sweetly. Her body loosened and then suddenly Lynn jumped off of her. Amalliey lay there a moment longer, she stared up at the ceiling, her own heart fluttered. She felt the strange stir within her stomach again. It was then that she heard Lynn hyperventilating. “Lynn.” She breathed.
Amalliey stood quickly and rushed to her. “Lynn…I…” She shook her head, she looked to her with her ocean blue eyes. Amalliey cupped Lynn’s cheek and stared into her eyes for a long moment. She bit her lip and looked away. “I…” She gripped Lynn’s hand. Her cheeks were bright pink. “I…” She couldn’t find words. Amalliey took in a shaken breath. “Lynn I’m sorry.” She whispered. “I’m sorry…” She spoke again a few more times. Everything was a haze. But…she remembered Lynn’s voice. She remembered her yelling at her when she finally returned. “I couldn’t…” She moved away and sat on the edge of the bed, her cheeks were warm. She fumbled with her hands slightly.
**
Xavier had stepped to the front of the inn. He stood in the doorway and stared to the knight. “What is it that you want with Amalliey?” He asked, as he stepped forward. “Tell me.” He moved around in front of him. Though his eyes widened slightly when he saw blood coming from Castile’s mouth, he held his hands to his throat, his eyes full of fear. Xavier furrowed his brows. He rushed forward and in an instant a burst of energy came from his body. A white flash surrounded them as he fell to the ground with the knight. Xavier grit his teeth as he held his hand over Castile’s forehead. He could feel the shadows that were wrapped around the fallen angel. “It was not you that wanted my daughter…” He whispered before his eyes began to glow white. The shadows the wrapped around the fallen angel began to wither as his power intensified. Then another burst of power escaped from his body.
Castile stood, he blinked several times, his jaw loose. “You…” He held his hands up and let out a chuckle. “You freed me?” He asked.
Xavier sat on the ground still, his breathing quick. He slowly nodded. “How have you been imprisoned so long?” He choked out.
Castile shook his head. “I’ve been locked away, if I do not follow his commands he takes me near death, just on the edge….”
Xavier stood slowly. “Tell me, what did he want?” He asked. “Why did he have you after my daughter?”
“The princess is an Azazel Mage….he hopes to gain her power…because the power that Amalliey holds is incredibly strong, for such a young inexperienced mage….” His eyes snapped to the inn. “The spell…” He spoke.
Xavier shook his head. “It’s broken. How can he take her power?” He questioned. “Is that even possible?”
“There is a way…” The angel spoke, he crossed his arms. “But Amalliey would die…and he only has a slim chance of properly extracting her power…”

Lynn looked to Amalliey for a long moment and then nodded slowly. “It’s okay…” She smiled weakly and then turned towards the door. “I’m going to get a breath of fresh air..” she muttered and then slipped outside. She walked down the stairs and out front – where she peered upon Castile and Xavier.
Lynn grit her teeth and summoned her Scythe “Castile” she called out and stepped up next to Xavier. “You need to leave” she spoke angerly.
“Lynn” Xavier held his hand out. “It’s okay… Castile was being controlled by the Demon… I broke that corruption and he is free now…. It was not his wish to harm Amalliey…” Xavier spoke and looked to Lynn’s weapon.
The scythe disappeared and Lynn stood before the knight and crossed her arms. “So what now?” she questioned. “You might be free of his power but that does not mean he won’t come after you. You’re a walking time bomb” she spoke and glanced to Xavier.
Xavier sighed softly “Castile, you can repay us by traveling with us, and protecting Amalliey”
“Whoa, no. I don’t think so – he was captured by the demon. First – how did that happen, secondly you don’t know him – Xavier!” Lynn threw her hands up, talking as if Castile wasn’t even there.
“You don’t know his story either, and if anyone – he would know the demon more. Can’t you see the light surrounds him? Light magic doesn’t mesh with an evil soul, you know this Lynn” Xavier turned to her and then shook his head. “If something happens – then I’ll let you be the one to finish him off…” he spoke and then looked to Castile. “What do you say?”
Castile looked to the two and then sighed softly “You are right – I know the demon more. I would give anything to destroy him…It is better we work together…” he looked to Lynn and then down. “I’m sorry for what I did…”
Lynn looked to Castile, and to Xavier. She scoffed and then stepped away… She walked down the street.. when she saw something in the distance. It was fire… the red hue lit up the dark sky. Alexandria… “Xavier!” she called out. Quickly Xavier rushed over and looked… “Do you think that is Alexandria?”
Xavier crossed his arms. “There is nothing we can do… we must leave now. If that is the demons… then they’re headed our way. We must create a diversion to keep them from this city… or else it would be next…” he spoke and then rushed into the Inn. “Lionel – get Amalliey, we must leave at once”

Castile looked to the red hue on the horizon. He grit his teeth. “He’s sent his minions after you. The king wanted to know where you were headed, to observe and stop whatever plan you may have. The gate lord on the other hand, as I said, Xavier, he wants Amalliey.”
**
Amalliey stepped outside with Lionel just behind her. Her eyes widened as she saw the hue. She looked to Castile and her brows furrowed.
“He was under the demons control, Amalliey.” Xavier spoke before she could even say a word.
Amalliey walked right up to the fallen angel, she shoved him harshly. “How dare you.” She spoke, fire swirled in her eyes. “You….”
Xavier touched her shoulder, “Amalliey.” He spoke, “Now is not the time. We must go, we are in danger.”
Amalliey stared to Castile as he stood there quietly, he looked away from her, he hated what he did, all the things that he’d done since he was captured. Amalliey took in a breath. “Of all things, you led them to us, you led them through that city, you caused this!” She pointed to the red hue on the horizon.
“No.” Castile spoke finally. He watched her. “The demon knew exactly where you were all along, because he has a hold on her.” He pointed to Lynn. “Ever since she opened the portal. She’s tainted by the blood magic that she performed. He can see everything. He knows your every move, every breath. He will continue to come after us until he gets what he wants.”
Xavier looked to Lynn with worried eyes. “We need to get to Firebend.” He spoke and then looked to Amalliey. “He is going to help us, he knows the demon better than any of us. Come on.” He took off. They ran for quite some time up an old mountain trail. Away from the main roads. He stopped at the top of a peak and glanced to the red hue, he didn’t want to think of what may have happened to Alexandria.
“This is how he gets what he wants. He tried back then, before the elves sealed away the dragon souls. He tried to obtain the essence of an Azazel Mage. He killed one after another to gather their power, and yet, he still remains the same. He leveled an entire city. A city that I was in. Everyone died. That is the day he captured me. I was too weak to move, I barely remember it.” He muttered softly. “There is nothing that he will stop at.”
“If we break his connection he will be flying blind, he won’t be able to track us.” He spoke and glanced to Lynn. “That is our only hope.”
Castile nodded, “If me make it to Firebend in time, yes.”
Amalliey was quiet as they moved along through the pathway. She hugged her arms to her body. She felt sick to her stomach. This, was her fault. The city was destroyed because of her. “If I give myself to the demon, will he stop?” She asked, her voice small.
“No!” Xavier turned, he stopped his march. He held her shoulders. “No Amalliey, he will kill you, and then there will no longer be an Azazel Mage in this world, you are the only one who can open that chest of souls. He is afraid of you. Remember that. This isn’t your fault, Amalliey.” He hugged her gently before he turned and pressed on.
Amalliey glanced back behind them to the fiery hue again, her eyes sad. Even though he said it wasn’t her fault, she couldn’t help but feel it was.

Lynn looked to Amalliey as she cursed Castile. “Amalliey.. Enough” she spoke and then shook her head. “Regardless if I played a part, you, or Castile – the King summoned Demon… Tichondris will soon destroy every city in given time, this is just the order of the end” she spoke and then nodded. “Come on now, we must deal with what we have. It is time to put our emotions aside”
Xavier looked to Lynn for a long moment and then smiled briefly. “Let us go to Firebend”
“Just a second” Lynn stopped them and then took in a deep breath. She stepped forward and held her hands out. A blue rune appeared on the ground at her feet and she became surrounded in blue. She focused all of the blue energy into her hands and a glowing ball formed. Then she shoved it forward. A portal appeared and then she held her hand outward. “Come on friends” she spoke. He eyes were glowing blue.
Slowly a blue horse merged from the portal. It had a blue glowing fiery like mane, cracks ran through its body where it glowed.. The horse slowly stepped forward and pressed it’s head against her hand. “Fancy a ride?” she whispered. This horse turned its head and neighed – then others emerged from the portal.
“Thank you” she spoke to the horse and then approached it. She placed her hands on its back and rubbed slowly. Her hands moved over the stone like skin, it had edges and ripples, cracks, but she could feel the warmth of the horse – it was alive, and beautiful. She climbed onto the horse, riding it bare back, and she held her hand out. A black magic reign appeared in her hand, granted to her by the horse.
“Show them what you can do” She whispered and leaned down – kissing the top of the horse’s helmet. Suddenly from it’s side – 2 beautiful glowing wings appeared. These wings looked exactly like her wings that she could summon. They flapped and they burst into the air together, soaring upward. She didn’t fight against the horse – a force held her down. They turned around – the horse was running through the air, wings flapping.
“We get a few hours of flight, before they must return. They will tell us when that time comes. For now… we must go, hm?”
Xavier took the lead and his horse shot forward, the others following suit. They flew over the lands, passing right over a giant thick forest. They could see for miles – as far as their eyes would let them. The mountains in far far distance. It wasn’t long at all before the forest dwindled into plains. The trees began to thin out, the rivers dried up – then the desert began. At first it was just dried up salt plains, but then the sand began to appear – and then dunes, huge runes, so many. The wind whipped up, pelting them with sand as they flew…
The horses began to neigh and decent down to the dunes. They landed and circled around each other. A portal appeared and they waited for everyone to dismount. Lynn slipped off her horse and came around to look to the horse, she held its head in her hands and she rubbed its stone face. “Thank you… “ she whispered. The horse neighed and rubbed its cheek against hers.
“I will come see you guys soon… I promise” she kissed the horses forehead and she nodded. Their blue color was gentle, it was not as strong of a glow – they were in the human world for their maximum time.. They jumped into the portal and then it closed up. Xavier walked over and grinned “So, how did you manage that?” he crossed his arms briefly.
“It Is a long story but… I helped them out in the phase, and in return they gave me a gift… now I tend to them occasionally, they get a little lonely” she winked and then nodded. “Okay Xavier, show us to Firebend…” she looked to Amalliey for a second… and then to Castile, Lionel…

Amalliey stared at the portal as it disappeared, still in awe by the beings. She glanced to Castile, watching him closely. His eyes glanced to her and she looked away instantly. Lionel stepped up to Lynn a grin on his lips. “You are incredible, Lynn.” He bowed his head. “That was incredible.” He smiled before he stepped off after Xavier.
“Amalliey.” Xaiver spoke and waved her forward.
Amalliey looked to her father before she stepped up to him, she was still quiet, her mind processing everything.
“We must press forward.” He looked to her, “That includes your thoughts, Amalliey.” He gave a warm smile. “Just remember what we are doing, hm?” He asked and turned his head forward. “This world is full of things that you’ve yet to see, yet to experience. Anything that happens along the way, learn from it. Do not let it cause remorse to build in your heart, that will only weaken your ability and allow your magic to take reign over your body. Remember a few of the mages that wander the phase?” He asked and looked to her. “Some of the best mages become lost to the phase, some because of too much wandering, others because of lack of control. Those that become truly evil in the use of their powers, those lack control. The magic eats them from the inside, it destroys them. Just as blaming yourself can cause destruction from the inside.” He turned away from her then and continued forward.
They came upon Firebend soon. The sand rippled across the desert in the wind. It was hot and dry. Amalliey didn’t speak to her father, she only nodded quietly in response. She knew what he said to be true. She had to press on. She glanced around the ruins. “No on is here father.” She spoke as she looked to a broken statue, the torso lay on the ground the rest of the body stayed standing though it was crumbling from the years of heat and wind. Amalliey then stumbled slightly. She held her hand to her head.
Xavier looked to her with silent eyes. “No.” He held his hand forward to Lionel. “Don’t touch her. Just wait.”
Amalliey let out a whimper, her eyes lit up a fiery orange and she stumbled forward and fell to her knees.
Castile tilted his head slightly. “She’s so strong, yet her mind wanders.” He knelt down in front of her, tears began to stream down Amalliey’s cheeks, her breathing was fast, almost as if she was hyperventilating.
“Her mind isn’t wandering, she is seeing what happened long ago to Firebend, Elanor used to have the same trait, her dragon would show her. This is something that happens to an Azazel Mage when entering an ancient city that was once destroyed during the dragon’s time.” Xavier explained.
**
Amalliey spun around, fire swirled around her. She could hear the yelling of the battlefield. She rushed around through the flames. Buildings began to crumble. An explosion went off behind her and she was thrown forward. She lay on the ground and watched as the demon’s soldiers marched on, they were knight armor with no face, no soul, no eyes. She watched as mages ran forward their eyes glowing with power. Soldiers from other lands ran forward toward the soldiers, attacking them with their swords, bows and spears. Amalliey watched as the blood bath began, as each and every living being slowly fell to the ground. Then, a hearty roar came from the sky, she looked up to see Ryuk and three other dragons, their mages upon their backs. They swarmed into the battle, leveling the soldiers and tending to those who were injured. Amalliey stood slowly as she looked around the leveled city. The fires from the demon’s soldiers still burned fiercely. She took in a shaken breath. “So much destruction…” She whispered softly.
“This is what will happen to your world if you don’t stop him, Amalliey.” Ryuk spoke, his wings flapped heavily and he landed behind her. He stared to her his eyes swirled with fire. “Alexandria was only the beginning, this demon will stop at nothing for power. The king believes he has control over him, he is merely a puppet to the demon. We must stop him.
**
Amalliey let out a cry as the fire disappeared from her eyes. Xavier rushed forward and carefully helped her to her feet. He stared into her eyes for a moment as tears continued to stream down her cheeks. “We will stop that from happening, we will save your mother and we will find the chest.” He hugged her for a moment. “Come on.” He brushed her tears away before he turned and walked away from her. He moved toward the center of what felt like the city. There was a building that could be made out, it was nearly covered in sand.
Amalliey took in a breath as she followed her father. Lionel touched her shoulder. “Are you alright, Princess?” He asked softly and searched her eyes, “You were out for awhile…”
She returned a nod and brushed a few more tears away. “Yes. Thank you Lionel.” She glanced to Lynn a moment before she stopped suddenly behind her father.
“Ah yes, I’ve always heard of Firebend, but only the true mages know how to enter.” Castile spoke, his eyes watched the mage.
Xavier took in a slow breath, his eyes began to glow white, a white aura covered his hand and he began to move it around, he whispered a few words of ancient tongue and a rune began to appear beneath him on the ground. Xavier then brought his hand forward a portal began to appear, a beautiful blue light on the other side. “Alright, come on, I can’t hold this all day.” He spoke and ushered everyone through.
Xavier stepped through and then the portal vanished. Amalliey stared to a beautiful bridge that spread across blue waters leading up toward a city that was built above a huge wall of stone. From ports in the stone the water rushed out into the lake that formed around them. The beautiful city above them was built with white stone, trees flourished. It was an oasis. “Welcome, to Firebend.” Xavier spoke as he walked toward the city. “Very few reside here, thought it is sought out by many, the angel is right, only a few possess the knowledge to enter this oasis in the desert.”
“How is this even possible?” Lionel asked as he stared to the rock ceiling above them. They were completely underground.
“Magic, my friend.” Xavier smirked to him.
Castile grinned as he looked to the city. “It is more amazing than the pages of books can describe.” He spoke as they began to follow Xavier toward the city.
Amalliey glanced to Lynn, she gave a shy smile to her before she continued forward. They moved into the city by crossing the huge bridge and climbing up winding stairs. They moved through the seemingly abandoned streets and then stopped outside of a home. Xavier lifted his hand to knock on the door and it opened.
A beautiful woman stood behind the doorway. She had fiery red hair and emerald eyes. She smiled at Xavier whom still held his hand up. “It’s wonderful to see you, Xavier.” She spoke, her voice warm. She wore a beautiful robe set that was red with white beneath it. She had a thick leather belt around her waist that had a red jewel in the front.
“It’s been a long time Rakalis, yet you still look as young as ever.” Xavier smirked and let out a chuckle.
Rakalis smiled to him, “Of course.” She replied and then her eyes fell upon Amalliey, “This isn’t Elanor…” She stepped forward and looked Amalliey over closely, she touched the pendant and a bust of power came from it. Amalliey nearly fell back, she fell against Lynn and gasped for air. Though she regained herself easily. “Azazel Mage.” She smirked then. “She has your eyes, you know?” Rakalis chuckled, “You never visit anymore, Xavier.” She spoke as she looked to him. Her eyes then moved over the others, “A fallen angel? You’re keeping rather interesting company these days.” She smiled and stepped to Castile, she stared into his eyes and then frowned slightly. “I see pain in your eyes, angel.” She touched his cheek and took in a breath as everything began to flash before her eyes. She pulled her hand back quickly. “Ticondris…” Her voice lowered slightly. She shook her head. “Filthy demon.” She sucked in air, trying to rid herself of the angry thoughts.
“Rakalis…” Xavier began to speak.
The mage held her hand up and looked to him a moment just before her eyes fell on Lynn. “You.” She spoke, her voice soft smooth. “I see….” She searched Lynn’s eyes and furrowed her brows slightly.
“Rakalis, the demon has tainted her.” Xavier spoke as he gripped her hand from touching Lynn. “We need your help, please.”
Rakalis turned to him and smiled. “Of course, anything for Elanor’s love. Where is she?” She asked curious.
Xavier lowered his eyes slightly. “She is entrapped in my daughter’s pendant.” His voice was soft.
“Oh…” Rakalis looked to Amalliey again, her eyes curious. “You must tell me more. Later, but for now, let us go inside. Tea anyone?” She smiled as she walked inside.
Amalliey looked to Lynn for a moment before she entered the home behind her father and the others.

Lynn crossed her arms as she watched Amalliey in her trance. Everyone waited patiently, curious of what was happening. Xavier rushed forward once Amalliey was released, and they moved onward. The portal was created and Lynn followed suit. As she entered the oasis – her eyes looked around… The water was crystal clear, and it was even a little chilly in the room. She followed the group across the bridge – her eyes glancing down to the twinkling water.
The door opened – a women stepped out. Lynn watched the women closely… but the entire while she felt a dark pit in her stomach. She watched as the woman greeted each person – but she stared to Lynn for a moment. They looked very alike… Fire red hair, green eyes, fair skin… Lynn watched as everyone entered the home but she stood at the door step. Almost unable to enter.
Lionel turned around and looked to her for a long moment and then tilted his head. “What is the matter?” he questioned.
The Angel stepped up behind Lionel and then chuckled. “It seems Lynn senses something about this mage Rakalis….Do you not?” he stepped away then.
Lynn looked to Lionel and then slowly stepped in. “I…” she then stepped past him, unable to finish her sentence. They walked into the mages living room. Xavier had sat down on her couch, Lionel sat next to him. Lynn stepped over to a small table that was against the wall. She looked to the faded images… It was a family – all red headed… A mother and father, 2 young girls standing next to them. She slowly lifted the image up and observed it for a long moment… and then set it back down. She was quiet the entire while.
Rakalis returned with a boiling pot of tea and cups. She poured several drinks and handed them out. Rakalis stood infront of Lynn for a long moment, their eyes were exactly the same… and they searched each other. Rakalis handed the cup and smiled. “That is of my family, my younger sister… father and mother…” she lifted the image and tilted it. “It is an old one…” she chuckled. “My sister…”
“What is her name?” Lynn questioned.
“Lynnith” She whispered and then set the image down.
Lynn looked to Xavier, who smiled to her. He held his tea cup up – tipping it off to her – and he took a sip. Lynn watched as Rakalis stepped away. Lynn set the tea down on the table, her eyes glancing to the image again… She then looked to Xavier – who watched her. She wanted to curse him. How could he know? Was Rakalis the only one that could help her, or was there another reason Xavier brought them here?
Lynn crossed her arms “I would love to drink tea and relax but…”
“But you are being chased by a demon, yes… you are here to cleanse? Well, if you feel the need to rush – then we should get this over with then?” Rakalis set her tea down and then smiled weakly. “Very well… I will take your mage, you lot should feel welcome to explore the city, or relax, whatever you wish to do… Come now – mage” she waved Lynn over.
Lynn looked to the group, her eyes fell to Xavier who was still grinning. Lynn shot him a glare, and then followed Rakalis out of the room.
“What is her problem?” Lionel questioned to Xaiver, once Lynn had left the home.
“Oh, that is just her Aunt… who she’s never met…” Xavier grinned again and sipped his tea.
Lynn followed Rakalis over a bridge, they weaved around the silent city. Rakalis looked to her for a moment and then sighed softly. “What is your name, mage?”
“Lynn…”
Rakalis smiled “You look a lot like her, you know… I could have guessed it from a mile away” she spoke softly and they continued onward.
“That’s nice..” Lynn spoke bluntly and continued onward.
“You hate her so, do you not?” Rakalis paused, turning towards, her arms crossed.
“I can’t say I love her, or hate her, I’ve never met her” Lynn stared to Rakalis for a long moment.
“That is a reasonable answer…” she thought for a moment and then looked up to the beautiful waterfall that fell from the ceiling… “There is a reason I am here, and not at the tower…. I never agreed with their tactics, their policies and beliefs… Especially after when they did to my sister…” she continued, leading her up a long series of steps that went up the side of the cavern like city. Leading to the top of the waterfalls…
“They told me that my mother and father owed a debt to the Circle, and so they gave me to pay for it…” Lynn spoke softly.
Rakalis snorted slightly “Is that what they told you….?” She stopped at the top of the waterfall. It had a floating piece of stone just above it, over the beautiful calm pool – that seem to simply slip off the edge, downward to the oasis…
“Come…” Rakalis float into the air, levitating over to the stone… waiting for Lynn.
Lynn’s wings appeared and she swiftly thrusted her way to the stone, she landed gracefully and then looked to Rakalis – who seemed impressed.
“The Circle of the Magi is… not as kind is it portrays itself to be. The council was weak, their strongest members had left, or died in the dragon wars. Your mother was…. She was in a deep coma when you were born, she had been for a few years. You were an experiment for them, as their last scramble to have a powerful mage in their ranks… And so they bred you while she was asleep, your father did not agree to it… but they took his seed and well…” she held her hands out to Lynn.
Lynn looked to Rakalis for a long moment and then crumbled to the ground. She sat down with her legs crossed… this knowledge was… “No one told me?” she whispered.
“That would defeat their purpose, wouldn’t it?” she spoke and sat down next to her. They both looked out to the beautiful blue water, to the city below…
“Where… are they now?” Lynn whispered.
“Your mother….she is gone. She died giving birth to you…. And your father is a Wandering Mage of the Phase…” she spoke softly and looked to Lynn.. She reached forward and touched Lynn’s hand.
Lynn’s eyes had filled with tears and she fought the urge to cry. Her fingers wrapped into Rakalis’ and she sat quietly, for a long… long moment.
“You know… Xavier found out….They threatened to kill Amalliey. It lead to his disappearance… torn between two children – both of which he couldn’t be truthful to, nor take care of…he came here often just to ask my advice. I… watched you from a great distance… but I knew I could not intrude, the circle would not have it…”
“Why…. Did they lie? Why…” she shook her head.
“The Grand Master was desperate. He knew without a powerful mage to help lead – the circle would fall apart. He… mage unwise choices… I don’t agree with them, but I do not think he is an evil man… but he is not a good one either…” Rakalis spoke and looked to Lynn for a long moment.
Lynn looked to Rakalis and then sighed softly. “I am not surprised… it hurts but… nothing is as It ever seems… I have read a lot.. About magic, mages, choices.. the other ideas and theories out there… some that the Magi of Circle stays away from, on purpose. I know they brainwash their mages, to become entities of themselves, servants of pride” she looked to Rakalis and shook her head. “I had my thoughts, doubts, I considered at some point leaving… now this fuels that fire…”
“You need to become your own self…” Rakalis looked out again. “I thought the Circle was the only way, when I was younger. When I broke free… I learned so much, I felt freedom, passion and…there is so much more out there than the circle. They think they have it all figured… but the reality is – they know so little. They blind themselves in their pride, their passion and religions, they cannot see anything other than themselves… and that on its own is ignorance to magic…” she then nodded.
“I will let you rest on your thoughts.. for now… let us rid you of your corruption…” Rakalis then turned and took Lynn’s hand. “It is perfect that you are my relative, our magic should connect beautifully. The only way to truly cleanse the corruption – is to overwhelm your body with the light, with your emotions of happiness, and love, and you shall snuff the flames of hell…” she grasped her hand. “I will guide you…”
***
Xavier stood and looked to Amalliey. “Come with me…” he waved to Amalliey. They stepped outside of the cozy home and into the street. He slowly walked down the street, glancing to her briefly. “Your mother and I… we had a little home here. It was our sanctuary when we needed to get away. We occasionally escaped here even when you were alive… Your mother would tell the king she was going to meet another kingdom for democratic discussions, whatever, and rush here..” he laughed “We’d get a day together… and then I’d miss her for another year” he stepped up to a small home.
“Some of her things still remain, I figured you might like to see it” he pulled out a key and opened the door. “I only wish you could have visited too..”

Amalliey looked to her father, her jaw loose. “Her aunt?” She questioned. “She…how…I…” She shook her head. “You didn’t tell her?” She exclaimed staring at her father intently.
“Amalliey, I couldn’t, there is so much that you do not know.” He spoke and stood, that is when he’d walked outside.
Amalliey followed him, her eyes cross. Her expression softened as he spoke of her mother, how they would meet in secret. She watched as he unlocked the door. “I wish I could have too…” She muttered as she entered the home. She glanced around. The first thing she saw was a picture of Xavier and Elanor together. She lifted it and held it in her hands. She ran her fingertips over it. “She looks so happy…happier than I’ve ever seen her…” She took in a gasp of air as the pendant pulsed again. She nearly fell over. She sat down on the couch then. “Father…” She breathed as her eyes filled with a blue light and rolled back into her head.
Elanor stood before her, she’d lifted up another one of the pictures. “We wanted to bring you, so badly, Amalliey.” She spoke softly. “I thought of the idea so many times, I tried to come up with a way to do it…but then…it would have put you in danger and Jonathan would not have believed me that I was meeting another kingdom, he would have seen right through the lie and…he would have killed you himself before my eyes before he killed me.” She looked to her daughter. “My heart ached to keep your father from you, it ached to hide you in the castle and give you no freedom…it ached to allow the king to force that life upon you and force you into the mold that he wanted you to be.” Elanor touched Amalliey’s cheek then and searched her eyes. She then furrowed her brows slightly. “You can’t give up, Amalliey.” She whispered before she disappeared.
Amalliey gasped in air, she clutched the image to her chest. She stared forward to her father who knelt in front of her. Xavier gave a gentle smile and touched her cheek. “It’s okay.” He spoke before he stood. “We will save her, I promise.”
Amalliey stared to him, “Why couldn’t you tell Lynn of her aunt?” She asked finally. “Why did you hide it from her? When she ached for family? She was alone…more alone than I ever felt.”
Xavier gave a soft sigh. “The circle, threatened me.” He spoke, “I realized who Rakalis was and I wanted to tell Lynn, I told the Grand Master. They circle threatened to murder you…to take you from me more than I’d already lost you…I couldn’t lose both of you, yet, if I stayed, you would no longer stand before me. So I staged my death in a way, I completely vanished. I made the circle think I was dead. I…never saw your mother again…I couldn’t…if word got out that they knew I was still alive, they would have followed through with it.”
Amalliey stared to him, “But…” She shook her head. “Things are not as I believed…everything with each step I take changes and morphs into something new.”
Xavier smiled as he watched his daughter. “Amalliey, you’ve been hidden away in a castle your entire life, you expect things to be different from the fairy tale you’ve been told, at least I hope you do. Especially after all that has happened.”
Amalliey nodded, “Yes. It should be less of a shock.” She let out a soft laugh, “Yet, every change, every turn, I am just as surprised as the moment I learned that you were my father. Yet, when I learned it, I did not push back, I knew it to be true. I could see it in your eyes more than I ever saw it in the king when he looked at me.” She then moved through the home and touched a few books and looked around. Amalliey found a beautiful dagger that was hung on the wall.
“That’s your mother’s.” Xavier spoke as he watched her pull it down.
The blade had blue etching that began to glow as she touched it. Her eyes swirled with fire and the blue glow turned orange. Amalliey grinned as she looked over the ancient language that was etched into the blade.
Xavier smiled as he watched her. “I had that made for her when we first met.” He spoke. “A very special mage in Alexandria actually enchanted it. It will respond to your magic, as you can see.”
Amalliey gave a nod as she attached the sheath to her hip and slid the dagger away. “How can we free mother?” She asked and looked to him. “Do you have any idea?”
Xavier slowly nodded, “Yes, I do, but…” He shook his head. “it’s like I said before, Amalliey. It’s…dangerous…I…” He bit his lip. “You could die and I want to find another way.” His eyes sparked then. “The library.” He took off without another word.
Amalliey raced after him through the city. They ran through the streets and came upon a huge domed building. As they stepped inside Amalliey looked to the bookcases that lined the walls. She watched as her father began to rush through the books, looking for the answer. She too began to move through the books, searching the pages. The books within this library were older than anything she’d ever seen. Untouched for centuries. The language was old. Yet the covers remained intact. “This are so….”
“Old, yes.” Xavier spoke. “These have been here since before the dragon wars. These are very protected books that not even the circle know of. This place would be ransacked if the circle knew of it. As I said before, only a few live here.”
“Others live here?” She asked softly as she continued to search. Her pendant pulsed.
“Yes, a few.”
“The city seems abandoned…” Amalliey spoke quickly, her eyes fluttered slightly her breath felt caught in her chest. She shook her head and set the book down and moved to the next. Her eyes glowed slightly, swirling with fire.
“The city in the old days used to house thousands, though after the destruction of the city above ground, everyone left, with the exception of around 5 mages that are still around, that is to include Rakalis. She refused to let the circle learn of this place and placed the spell of the portal to hide it, very few can crack the spell to enter--…”
“Father!” Amalliey ran over to him. She held an ancient book in her hands. “Look.” She held it toward him, the ancient text spoke of the Azazel Mages and their dragons, it also spoke of dragons that were bound to objects, how to free the soul. “Is this it?” Amalliey asked softly.
Xavier looked over the ancient text, his breathing slowed as he read. He looked to his daughter and searched her eyes for a moment. “Do you really want this?” He asked softly as he marked the page in the book and then closed it. “Are you sure? This spell is really dangerous.”
Amalliey gave a nod. “We need all the help we can get…and…mother…” She looked away slightly, her eyes welling with tears. “I miss her…I…”
Xavier pulled her into a gentle hug. “Okay, let’s check in on Lynn and Rakalis. If we are going to do this, I want to prepare them. At least, we are safe here from the demon and his soldiers. They cannot breach into Firebend no matter how hard they try….” He stepped back.
Amalliey gave a nod. “We can do this father, I will be alright, I promise.”
Xavier gave a weak smile, in the back of his mind he questioned it. He looked to the book as they stepped from the library and headed back to Rakalis’ home. “I can only hope that you remain safe when we perform this spell.” He whispered.

Lynn looked to Rakalis and then nodded. “Okay” they both held hands and their powers swelled with in each other. From their bodies a glowing white color surrounded them. “Find the darkness” Rakalis whispered.
Lynn stood in a large dome building. She glanced up to the beautiful paintings on the ceiling.... Rakalis stood next to her. Suddenly the earth began to crumble and crack – splitting the entire building in half. The lands moved, Lynn stood on one side – Rakalis on the other. Lynn stumbled slightly, she fell to one knee, her hand resting on the tiled floor. Dust filled the air, and heat flowed from the crack. The world shifted more and Lynn then fell forward.
Her body fell down the huge crack – but there was nothing but darkness. Rakalis looked over the edge “Lynn!” she shouted, but her voice was swallowed by the darkness. “Destroy the demon!”
Lynn’s wings spread out and caught her – just before she hit the ground. She gasped and landed on the floor. She slowly stepped forward – only to hear a faint laughing. It was deep and cruel... Suddenly a burst of flames appeared before her – Tichondris stood and grinned to her. “I’ll kill you from the inside...” he stepped forward. He was easily 12 feet tall...
Lynn summoned her scythe and gripped it. Tichondris lunged forward – a great sword in his hand. Lynn shuffled to the side and then thrust her Scythe into him. It was like cutting butter – it slipped right through him. Tichondris laughed then and turned. “Fool”
Lynn stumbled back as a blast of fire came her way. She held her arms up and send a wave of yellow power – deflecting the fireblast. The strength of the attack pushed her back – her feet dug into the ground, catching herself.
***
Rakalis gasped as she came from her trance, she quickly stood. “Xavier!” she called out. “Amalliey” she suddenly ran forward and leaped into the air. She jumped right over the edge of the waterfall – her body falling downward. She then suddenly levitated and flew over to Xavier’s home. She landed in a hurry and rushed inside.
“Amalliey – you are a white mage yes? Come, come, we need you” She gripped Amalliey’s arm and suddenly they lifted into the air in a hurry.
“Trance with her. The demon is not physical... He is pure darkness. She needs your help, a white mage – who can give her the light she needs.” Rakalis nodded.
***
Lynn held both of her hands out a huge balls of power formed, they spun rapidly, and then she brought her hands together – a beam created and shot forward. It hit Tichondris dead on. He laughed and held his hands up – he was absorbing it. “You fool!” Tichondris laughed louder. “You are a black mage! Your magic does nothing but fuel me” he grinned and cast the spell directly back at her.
Lynn flew backwards, the blast hitting her, she cried out and landed against the ground. She slowly stood up, her body battered by the attack. “Light..” she shook her head. This was not her forte...

“Rakalis…” Xavier spoke, her heard her calling for him. He glanced up to the sound to see her leap from the waterfall. “Something has gone wrong…” He spoke, his brows tucked together.
Amalliey looked to her father then. “With Lynn?” She asked, her eyes widened slightly. It was then that Rakalis landed next to them. She was only able to nod in response to the question before Rakalis lifted her away. Amalliey let out a cry as her body floated up into the air. Amalliey’s knees were weak as they landed she stepped forward and looked to Lynn whom sat cross-legged on the ground. She sat down before her and looked to Lynn’s hands that were still held out, she was like a statue, frozen in time. “Lynn.” Amalliey spoke, her voice shook slightly. She glanced to Rakalis.
“Hurry, Amalliey.” Rakalis spoke, her eyes worried.
Amalliey looked back to Lynn as she slowly lifted her hands, her eyes began to swirl with fire her heart began to beat more quickly. She grasped Lynn’s hands and then suddenly she couldn’t breathe. Amalliey gasped as her eyes filled with a white glow, she grit her teeth. “Lynn…” She choked out, her voice filled with pain. Then suddenly she was ripped from the world and into the darkness.
Amalliey landed harshly, she tumbled to the edge of the crack that was created in the earth. She took in a breath as she pushed herself to her knees. She could feel the heat from the crack. “Lynn…” She looked around, the shadows of the darkness crawled toward her and then shied away. She heard Tricondris then. His voice echoed through the world. The ground beneath her trembled then and she lost her bearing. Amalliey tumbled through the air, she let out a scream. Then suddenly something scooped beneath her. Amalliey was caught by Ryuk’s back as he soared down toward the commotion. He landed swiftly and Amalliey slipped from his back. Ryuk let out a mighty roar as he faced Tricondris.
“Ah the Azazel Mage.” Tricondris chuckled. “How fitting for her to come and try to save you, Lynn. She can’t do all of your battles for you. Not this one.” Ryuk snarled and lunged forward, causing the demon to take a few steps back. Ryuk snapped at him and ripped his mighty sword from his grasp. The sword flew through the air and stabbed into the ground. “This one has a temper.” He snickered, “I’ll adore you when I control you dragon.”
Amalliey stood behind Ryuk she moved quickly to Lynn’s side. “Lynn.” She breathed as she grasped her arms to steady her. “Find your way through the darkness, he isn’t real.” She spoke, her voice calm. “He is just a shadow of his true self.” She took in quick breaths as she stared into Lynn’s eyes, her eyes spun with the beautiful fires of Ryuk.
“Just a shadow?” Trichondris chuckled, “Tell me, can a shadow do this?” He asked as he held his hand out. The ground beneath Amalliey and Lynn began to shudder and crack, lava could be seen through the cracks beneath them.
Amalliey pulled Lynn quickly and held onto her, staring into her eyes. “He’s not real.” She spoke again. “Find the darkness and rid yourself of it.” Her hands began to glow with white light as she continued to hold onto Lynn. She was syphoning her white magic into Lynn, allowing her to have the ability to fight against Trichondris.
The demon snarled, “No you fool!” He lunged forward only to receive a slash across his chest from Ryuk who roared in anger. Ryuk was protecting them so that Amalliey could give Lynn the strength.
Amalliey trembled slightly, “He is just a shadow.” She whispered, her eyes fluttered, blood dripped from her nose. “You can defeat him, Lynn.” The shadows began to close in on them. “You can control this.” Her voice was soft. A burst of white magic then came from Amalliey’s body, it pushed all of the darkness away from them as far as their eyes could see. Amalliey gripped onto Lynn. “Kill him, Lynn.” She spoke softly as the glow from her hands disappeared.
Ryuk moved and glanced to Amalliey, he let out a soft growl before he looked to Lynn. He then looked back to the demon and he roared, a stream of fire came from his mouth, blasting the demon back. He then rushed to Lynn and Amalliey. He nudged Amalliey gently before he lifted her and carefully tossed her onto his back. Only you can finish this, Archmage. He stared into her eyes as he moved into a defensive stance again, he snarled as Trichondris moved closer.
“You think you can finish me?” Trichondris cackled as he ripped his sword from the ground and flames spewed from the hole it created. “I will ruin you from within, until there is nothing left but a shell of a mage.” He slammed his sword down on the ground, sending a wave of flames toward them. Ryuk slammed his huge paw down on the flames and snarled. The demon cackled again, “You’ll soon be mine too dragon.” He stepped forward toward them.
**
Xavier rushed up the stairs of the waterfalls. He stood next to Rakalis, his eyes worried. “What did you send her into?” He asked as he watched Amalliey’s head lean forward, blood dripped from her nose, her breathing began to shake. Though, a white aura surrounded Lynn now, she was completely encased in the white glow.
“Trichondris has a tight hold on, Lynn…this is the only way.” Rakalis spoke as she watched. “She will survive it.” She nodded, “I’ve seen Azazel Mages push through worse.”

Lynn looked to Amalliey, her eyes growing big. “You shouldn’t be here” she called out. She cried out in pain – but then Amalliey began to syphon her power into her. Lynn gripped Amalliey’s shoulders, her eyes began to glow a bright white – and she became encompassed with her power. When Amalliey slipped away and Ryuk escaped – Lynn turned.
She grit her teeth as her body surged with power. Suddenly her wings burst from her back, but instead of blue – they were white and twice the size. Her body was a beaming ray.. Slowly she float into the air and her wings spread out. From each tip of the wing – a small ball of white began to form. Then from her hands two larger balls of white formed. She held both arms out now, like she did before, and then slammed them together.
From her palms a giant beam of white light shot forward – then her wings thrust forward – another beam of light above it. It funneled forward and blasted into Tichondris. The demon screamed out – and cracks formed through his body. Suddenly then he exploded into a white light, that surrounded the darkness, and then swallowed it. Her wings faded then and Lynn shut her eyes...Exiting her trance.
Lynn gasped as she came to, she had been glowing white – but it now it ceased. She looked to Amalliey and quickly rushed forward, her hands touched Amalliey’s. She syphoned the remaining magic back to her, knowing that Amalliey gave her it all. “That power... I’ve never felt anything like it” Lynn looked up to the two. “When... she syphoned it into me I felt... everything. I felt her pain, I felt Ryuk, I felt Elanor, and.... the power... combined with mine.. it was... “ she slowly stood. “That’s the key. Its not just her... its not just me.. is us, combined....”

“Lynn…” Amalliey breathed, her eyes fluttered as she lay on Ryuk’s back. He let out a cry as he backed away, watching Lynn float up into the air. Ryuk backed up as the darkness began to crawl in around them. Amalliey tried to move as shadows crawled up her body, she couldn’t breathe.
**
Xavier paced back and forth. His arms crossed. “How long can it take?” He asked and stared to his daughter.
Rakalis stepped to him and gripped his shoulders, “Xavier, she is an Azazel Mage, do you remember the raw strength that Elanor had? Do not doubt her.”
Xavier looked back to Amalliey, his eyes widened. “Rakalis…” He spoke as he knelt in front of her.
Amalliey’s eyes were black pits, darkness seeped down her cheeks as blood continued to drip from her nose. Rakalis looked to her for a moment and then nodded, “She will pull through.” She spoke softly.
Xavier looked to Rakalis, he grit his teeth. He wanted to curse the old mage. But, he knew she’d seen more than he had in his lifetime.
**
Amalliey gasped as the shadows engulfed her, she couldn’t move. She felt an overwhelming cold feeling as she fell from Ryuk’s back. He let out a mighty roar just before Lynn blasted Trichondris. With the surge of energy as the demon began to crack like a plate dropped to the floor light surged through the room. The darkness retreated from Amalliey, leaving her motionless on the ground.
**
As Lynn rushed forward, Amalliey collapsed into her, loose as a rag doll. Her eyes remained cloaked in darkness. Though, as Lynn syphoned her magic back into her the pendant around Amalliey’s neck pulsed with a beautiful white light, it mimicked her slow pulse. Amalliey gasped for air and her eyes opened, the darkness disappeared from her eyes and once again her eyes swirled with fire. “Lynn…” She breathed, her hand wrapped around Lynn’s forearm gently, her eyes became heavy and her body loosened once again.
Rakalis grinned as she looked to the Archmage. “The combination of light and dark.” She shook her head, “I’ve only ever seen this once in my lifetime, a long, long time ago.” She looked to Xavier, “They can stop Trichondris. I only fear that now that he has seen this capability, he may bring more forces down upon you as you venture to find the dragon’s chest.”
Xavier stared to his daughter whom lay peacefully in Lynn’s arms. “I’ve only ever witnessed one other mage that could syphon magic like that. Elanor.” He spoke softly. He pondered for a moment. “Lynn.” He spoke and looked to her. “Amalliey is very focused on freeing her mother, you know this.”
Rakalis looked to him, curious. “She’s bound to that pendant, correct?” She asked.
Xavier returned a nod, “Yes, we found one of the ancient texts that has the spell to free Elanor and her dragon.” He paused a moment. “Amalliey wants to perform it…though…” He looked to Amalliey with worried eyes. “I’m not sure if she--…”
Rakalis placed her hand on his shoulder. “Stop doubting her, Xavier. You are doubting her as you doubted Elanor. Don’t make that same mistake twice.” She whispered to him. She then looked to Amalliey and then finally to Lynn. “You must be exhausted.” She spoke. “Come, let’s get you to my home, hm? We can rest there.” She looked to Xavier and then gave a nod. With the snap of her fingers they appeared in her living room. Lynn and Amalliey rest on the couch, Xavier and Rakalis stood in the center.
Lionel dropped his glass and it shattered on the floor. He stared to the group with a slack jaw. Rakalis walked over to him and pushed his jaw up. “Clean that up would you? I’ll make you another.” She smiled and stepped from the room.
Xavier shook his head. “I hate it when she does that.” He looked to Lynn and gave a warm smile. “Come on, I’ll show you to the guest room.” He spoke and carefully lifted Amalliey from her arms. Xavier walked down a hallway which led to a set of stairs that churned down into the earth. He then stepped into a beautiful little room with artifacts from the ages. The bed in the room was rather large plenty of room for both of them. He set Amalliey down on the bed and nodded to Lynn. “If you need anything Lynn, I’m here.” He then pulled the book from his pack and handed it to her. “I’ve marked the page.” He searched her eyes. He then pulled her into a gentle hug, “I can see your light again.” He spoke, “I can feel it.” He held her there for a moment before he sighed softly and released her. “I’m…I’m glad you’re better, and free from the darkness, Lynn…” He looked to her for a moment longer before he stepped from the room.
Amalliey had curled onto her side in her sleep. Her expression peaceful.

Lynn looked to Xavier as he left the room. Her eyes diverted to Amalliey for just a moment, and then slowly slipped from the bed. She sat on the ground and crossed her legs... where she easily slipped into the phase.
***
Lynn stood in a small room. An elderly woman sat before her, with warm cup of tea in her hands. The woman turned and handed her a cup, and faced toward her wood stove.
“Hello..” Lynn spoke softly.
“I’ve been waiting for you” the woman spoke and took a sip.
“You have?” Lynn questioned.
The old lady chuckled and then leaned back in her seat. “Of course dear...” she sipped again. “The day is coming” she took another sip. “Redemption shall be served, the dragons will fly again...” the lady smiled then – her lips were wrinkly and prune. “What I would give to see them again...”
“Do you... know where they are being kept?” Lynn took a sip of her tea, which was wildly refreshing.
“In a place they believed no one could reach...” the lady took another sip. “The exact location? Only one knows...” she chuckled then. “but his location?” she chuckled again. “Seek out the greatest mage of all time... he lingers in this world, lost... but hopefully... not forgotten.”
“Who?” she muttered.
“Someone you must forgive...” The old lady then disappeared. Her cup of tea sat on the table next to her...
*** Lynn came out of the phase and looked to her hand... she still held a cup of tea, though it was almost empty. It was not her tea... it was the old ladies... She slowly stood and put it on the table, watching it for a long moment. Then she crawled into bed and slipped away to the quiet of slumber.

Amalliey’s sleep was dreamless. Something that was strange for her. She woke the next morning, her fingertips curled around Lynn’s forearm, her head pressed against her shoulder. Amalliey lifted her head slowly and stared to Lynn for a moment. She remembered the trance, how easily she’d syphoned her magic into Lynn. She sat up slowly and looked around the room. She took in a slow breath. She reached to the end table where the ancient book rest and flipped it open. She ran her fingertips over the spell, her eyes searched over the old text. Amalliey stood and looked to Lynn for a moment before she slipped from the room, the book in hand. She made her way up the stairs, where she heard the chatter of her father and Castile. She wound up the stairs and stood at the top of the stair case where she saw everyone in the living room. They sat with tea cups in their hands. Lionel spotted her and smiled. “Good morning, Princess.” He moved and grabbed a mug, “Here, this is yours.” He stepped to her hand handed her the tea.
Amalliey looked to the glass, she tucked the book against her body by hugging it with one arm as she stepped forward. She sipped from the tea. She sat down on the couch and looked around. Rakalis sat in her rocking chair, her knees pulled up, she held an old book in her lap and her tea in her other hand. She gave a warm smile to Amalliey. “It’s good to see you, do you remember anything from the trance?” She asked softly.
Amalliey nodded, “I remember all of it.” She spoke, “How did I do that…?”
Rakalis grinned then, a spark seemed to light in her eyes. “You are capable of so much that you have yet to discover, Amalliey. Don’t let doubt hold you back.” She sipped from her tea. “How is your head? Are you foggy at all?”
“A little.” Amalliey spoke and furrowed her brows. “I feel like this is a dream.”
Rakalis chuckled, “Oh my dear, you are definitely awake.” She stood and set her book to the side with her tea. “One moment.” She stepped from the room.
Xavier moved and hugged Amalliey gently from the side, he kissed her forehead. “I’m glad you’re okay, Amalliey.” He searched her eyes. “I have to remind myself not to doubt you too.” He laughed softly and stood as Rakalis came back into the room.
“Here you are dear.” She held a glass forward. “Drink up.”
Amalliey took the glass, it was filled with a green thick liquid. She sniffed it and then sneezed almost instantly. “What…is this?” She asked, her face contorted from the smell.
Rakalis smirked then, “Don’t ask, just drink up. If you drink it in one go it won’t be as horrible.” She smiled.
Amalliey looked to the glass again and took in a deep breath. She then drank the glass quickly. She choked on the taste and gagged. “Oh…that…that is horrible.” She spoke in disgust.
Rakalis took the empty glass, “You’ll feel better though.” She gave a gentle smile. “Sometimes the things we need are not pleasant.” She took the glass away and then returned to her chair where she opened her book again. “So, you want to free your mother?” She asked.
Amalliey nodded, “Yes. When can we?” She asked.
Xavier took in a breath, “Are you sure you want to do this?” He asked.
Amalliey looked to him, she furrowed her brows. “Yes, father, I…we have to. We need all the help we can get.”
Rakalis slowly nodded before she took a drink of her tea. “Alright. I will draw up the rune, we will perform this tonight.” She stood. “It will take time for me to draw this.” She looked to Xavier and searched his eyes for a moment. “If you need me I will be at the base of the falls.” She then left the room.
Castile stood, “I will help her, I’ve had my fair share of rune drawing.” He smiled and then left.
Lionel looked to Amalliey his brows furrowed. “Are you sure?” He asked.
“Yes, this is what I want.” Amalliey spoke softly and finished her glass of tea. She was already feeling better from the green goop that Rakalis made her drink.
“They…they said you could die…princess…I don’t think this is a good idea.” Lionel spoke, his eyes worried.
Amalliey gave a gentle smile then, “I won’t. I will survive, don’t doubt me okay?” She set her tea glass down and opened the book, looking over the spell once again, memorizing every aspect of it.
