Lynn glanced over as Azariah questioned about the next place to go. "We should go the valley.." She spoke and she pulled her horse to step over - glancing at the map slightly from a distance. That is when suddenly they heard a voice. Lynn grit her teeth and slipped from her horse. She held her hand out and her Scythe appeared. Suddenly one of the men came forward and clashed her scythe with his sword, she pushed him back and a burst of power came from her palm. She sent him flying back - then she twisted her body quickly and her Scythe shot forward and cut his body directly in half, and then swung back towards her.
Just as she did - she turned and saw Amalliey plunging her dagger into the mans chest. She rushed forward and placed a hand on her shoulder. "It's okay" she whispered and turned her away from the men. With a shove of her foot she pushed the man, and he began to roll down the long hill. She swiftly did the same to the other 2. "Come on" she leaped onto her horse and lead them down the path.
"There should be a tree soon, according to the map, it will have a carving etched into it, that will be our queue to turn left, though the path may be hidden..." she spoke, they continued to walk until she spot the tree. It was a medium sized tree sitting directly on the edge of their path. The etching was of a maple leaf, with some decorative lines above and below it. She pointed and then turned her horse, there was a a bush hiding the path - she jumped down and stepped over, pulling back the push to allow them through. Lynn ushered her horse through and climbed back on.
The bath above them was a zig-zag of trail that climbed up the side of the mountain. "The city should be over this hill, in the small valley over" she spoke as they climbed up the mountain side. As they came to the crest - she looked around. They were on a small peak, compared to the huge towering peaks around them, this peak actually was flat for a little - and then drove into the main mountain side, that continued upward. The mountain was capped with snow
"Losing sunlight" she spoke as the Sunset was far in the distance, shrouded by the huge mountains - all she could see was the faded pinks and reds of over the peak. She glanced down to see the small valley, there was a lake - and several wooden cabin like buildings, collected together. They were starting up their evening fires, as the possibility for snow was high - the temperature began dropping immediately..
They came down the mountain and weaved through the trees - until they came to the town. There was a wooden pike fence that surrounded the place.. She slipped from her horse and stood at the gate. A man came forth - he wore leather clothing, with Eagle feather and bead accents. He had long hair which was pulled up into a pony tail... "State your business"
Lynn pulled the coin from her pocket, the gift from the mayor. "We are asking for safety in your home, as he pass through the area."
The man approached and plucked the coin from her hand and then turned it over. He then handed it back to her "Very well... please, come in" he opened the gate and lead them in. "My name is Pyor, I watch the lands for danger.... I will take you to our leader, Renna.." they walked to the largest building, which was like a dining hall. About 50 people or so sat at the tables, eating and talking - the village did this together, everyday. Sitting at the end of the table was a woman - who wore long blue robes - her hair was long and wavy, she had small accents in her hair as well. She stood slightly and smiled - "We have guests?"
Pyor nodded "These two hail from Amethyst - the Mayor has granted them safe passage, they hold a coin of truce" he spoke.
"I am Renna, please - come sit, I'd like to know our guests. I am quite curious why you are traveling so far." she held her hand out to the two chairs next to her. "And you are welcome to eat, of course" she smiled.
Lynn stepped over and sat down next to Renna and smiled weakly. "What is your name?"
"Lynn" She spoke and glanced to this woman. Something felt different - she felt mystical, whoever she was.. she was an older mage.
"The Archmage of the Circle, no?" Renna picked up her wine and took a sip.
Lynn glanced away and then chuckled "Yes.."
"We have met before, but it has been a long time since I last went to the tower. You had only just taken up the position... after Xavier disappeared. Have you heard of him?" she questioned, sipping her wine again.
"Yes, Xavier had personal reasons for leaving... but he is well" she spoke uncomfortably.
Renna glanced to Amalliey and then smiled "And you are, dearest?"
Just as she did - she turned and saw Amalliey plunging her dagger into the mans chest. She rushed forward and placed a hand on her shoulder.
