Vox chuckled to her remark as he sipped from his own glass, “Well you are their...” He paused a moment, “Sort of antichrist but for demons.” He grinned, “If there were a better word I would use it, but it’s slipped my mind at the moment darling.” He listened to her speak of the bunker and his eyes looked around the tidy keep a smile remained on his lips as he drank through his beverage. “Karma has its own way of working. She’s truly a sweet lady though.” He winked at her as he leaned his back against the countertop and he finished his second drink. He sighed as he looked to the empty glass as if he’d lost a great deal of money, or something very near and dear to him.
“All of the biblical or mythologies that humans created are true in one way or another. Just like the three sisters of fate.” He spoke as his icy eyes fell upon her, “A story doesn’t just come about from the mind, especially something like that of a mythology, the Greeks were very close to their Gods...it shows when you look at history. The reasons for things, it wasn’t just some made up story from an imagination, no...in some form or another it is all true.” He gave a smile to her then before he turned and mixed himself another drink. His cheeks had become tinted pink from the alcohol, if there was one thing that effected demons the way it did humans it was liquor. It was the only true high that he could experience, aside from murdering a lot of humans. The euphoria that was felt from that was something he’d never be able to explain and he hated it.
“Enough rambling on hm?” He smirked as he stirred in the liquor. “We have to move forward with this...” He let out a sigh, “We have to be careful the moment that the circle smells anything we are both going to wish we were dead.” His eyes looked to her a long moment. “Death would be the easy way out from what Lucifer will do to us.” He shrugged then, “But, you’ve got me.” He chuckled, “No need to worry, hm?” He tilted his head as he watched her, he reached forward then and paused, he let out a breath and then gave a smile. He was reaching to brush her hair from her eyes. He’d noticed that she’d tensed slightly when he’d kissed her forehead earlier. Vox looked to his glass of liquor and bit his lower lip, “Perhaps I shouldn’t drink too much?” He raised a brow. “Wouldn’t want to repeat our previous evening.” He chuckled then, though he lifted the glass to his lips and drank from it. He watched her curiously, the smile never left his lips. “So, what were you before the apocalypse?” He questioned almost playfully. “An office girl? Hm?” He chuckled as he gazed over her. “Hm, no….that isn’t it...” He tapped his finger against his lips as he thought deeply. “You’re a tough one to place, I can usually narrow it down to a few options. But you...you’re too tough to have been a simple city girl. But you’re not so tough that you were in the military. No.” He scrunched his face slightly and then grinned. “I was a bartender.” He smirked. “I listened to all the problems of the humans.” He chuckled softly. “Day in and day out, I was a regular psychologist. I just cost a whole lot less…..mmm sometimes. Depends on who was drinking and what.” He took another sip of his drink. “So, what did you do?” He brought his eyes back to her once again.

As Krysta sipped her own beverage she listened to Vox ramble and couldn't help but smile back at him. He was so relaxed for the situation they were in and it was honestly rather interesting to hear about the Greek gods and the people that worshiped them from someone who actually experienced their culture. When he shifted back to talking about their current situation and needing to carry through with their plans she sighed and took another drink. The short trip from reality into the ancient past had been nice but a little short lived.
"You can drink if you want to. I can keep you at bay, don't worry." She teased him though she only gave him a half smile as she remembered the lie that she and Ari had cooked up in order to help Vox trust and open up to Krysta a little more. It had worked like a charm, but now she was starting to feel a little guilty for the lie. All of Vox's trust in her was built upon that deception.
When he asked what she had done before the fall she scoffed and then chuckled a bit. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you." She had a pretty mundane life before the end of the world, or at least she had tried to live normally. "I uh, had actually just started out with a teaching job. Had my first class of about twenty kids or so." She shrugged knowing that he would probably be completely blown away by that fact. She fit the warrior lifestyle so well that it was hard to imagine her smiling and wearing nice blouses to a classroom setting. "I was actually at a teacher conference when everything happened. I snuck away because I know I would have a greater chance at surviving on my own."
Taking her drink she went and sat on the couch a short ways away and leaned her head back on the rest behind her. "I still don't know what I'm gonna do once we fix this hell hole though. I probably wont really fit in. I hardly fit in before hand." She took another drink and could feel the alcohol warm her body with a tingling, pleasant sensation.

Vox smiled as he watched Krysta, though his own smile fell slightly as he noticed her half hearted smile. His brow raised for a moment but then she continued speaking of her past. This got a soft chuckle from him and a grin split his lips. “You? A teacher.” He hummed playfully as he mixed another drink together before he joined her on the couch. “Hm.” He sipped from his drink as he leaned into his seat. Vox took in a deep breath and he glanced to her, “You have a caring personality, you might hide it, but it’s there, Krysta.” He drew his brows together slightly when she spoke of not fitting in, another chuckle came over his lips. “No one truly fits in. Aren’t we all jigsaw puzzle pieces?” His bright eyes never left hers, “Waiting to find that piece that we belong to.” He smirked. “Perhaps, teaching wasn’t your calling.” He shrugged, “Maybe it was those that you were surrounded by that did not fit into your puzzle.”
Vox took another drink of his beverage, his words were a bit slurred by this point, a curve in his lips seemed to stay put from the warmth of the alcohol coursing through his system. “Life isn’t always about fitting in, darling.” He placed his arm over the back of the couch behind her, a smile upon his lips. “You weren’t ever meant to fit in.” He searched her eyes. “You’re so much more than just a human. In fact, most of the humans don’t deserve to have you save them. But some do.” He paused a moment, his other hand held his half empty glass on his knee as he searched her eyes. He drew in a breath, the smile never left his lips. “If you don’t fit in with the humans, certainly you could spend time with me.” He smirked, “I don’t mind your company in the least.” He watched her another moment. “Besides, you can do whatever it is that you want, darling. You’re going to be the savior of humanity, of this world that is your paradise. You get to decide how it is built back up. You’re practically a god in the eyes of humanity. Aren’t you?” He smirked playfully.
“You will be their savior, even if they do not know it was you, at some point they will have to find someone to thank for ending the apocalypse. Even if it isn’t you that takes that ride to fame.” He raised a brow slightly. “There have been plenty of false saviors in the past with humanity.” He took a long drink from his glass finishing it off before he set it one the coffee table a bit clumsily. “We just do what you want, Krysta. That was the deal. Right?” He leaned his head back and hummed, the light headed feeling was glorious. Not a care in the world. “I get to kill Domiel, you get to save the world. Even trade, if you ask me.”

Vox was drunk, and had gotten that way rather quickly, but the words he spoke still captured her attention. She didn't think he could imagine her being a teacher. Seeing herself now it was hard to believe she had been, but it was the truth. When he mentioned her not being meant to fit in she felt a twinge of remorse in that fact. Maybe he was right. She wasn't meant to fit in, at least not with the people she wanted to protect, but she seemed to fit in with him and Ari just fine. That was just fine for her. Two people was twice as many as she could relate to before the fall, and that was just fine with her. When he mentioned staying with him she couldn't help but to smile.
"Yeah, that was the deal." She agreed and looked at the bottom of her empty glass. "So what are you going to do after we kill the circle members and restore the world? Now that you've got some of your heavenly qualities back. You're kind of stuck in the middle like me. Going to just make a home for yourself among the humans?" She leaned her head back against the couch as well, though with his arm behind her she was more or less on his shoulder. "You, me and Ari getting to enjoy the spoils of war in a new paradise?" She chuckled at the thought. She was sure that Vox and Ari would make their plans but she doubted that, in the long run, those plans included her.
"Speaking of, we need to figure out exactly what has happened to you. Then maybe it would be worth it to give Ari some of my blood as well." She glanced up to Vox, his face was only a short distance from hers. She could practically feel the body heat coming from him, it felt nice, and she was oddly comfortable as she sat so close to him. Maybe it was the alcohol or maybe she just trusted him that much.

Vox wrapped his arm around her when she leaned into his shoulder, a smile upon his lips. “After?” He thought a moment. “I hadn’t thought much of after until I met you.” He chuckled softly. The comment was cheesy, almost as if it was something that would have been written in a bad romance novel. But, his words were genuine. “Honestly, when Lucifer set forth his plan and we destroyed several angels and the apocalypse fell over the world, I had given up the hope I had of returning to the heavens. Then again...I gave up that wish several hundred years ago when Domiel cast me down.” He let out a soft sigh, “Getting back into heaven? That doesn’t really happen. I’ll be just as stuck as you. Hm?” He smiled again before he leaned his head back. “Well...shouldn’t the three of us celebrate together?” He had a playful smile now, “Through our efforts we will restore things and the world will be formed into what you want it to be.”
Vox shifted slightly his eyes gazed into hers, he couldn’t help but focus on how close she was to him. It made him...nervous? Something he hadn’t felt in such a long time. He was always in control of the situation, especially something like this. But now? She held the control. Especially because of the little lie that Ari and Krysta had fabricated. “You’ll fit in if you’re with me.” He finally said after a long moment. “Or...we can try to fit in together, hm?” He gave a soft chuckle then, “I haven’t really ever….fit in, I’ve always stood out to the humans.” He bit his lower lip slightly as he searched her eyes. Vox then looked to her empty glass. “Want another?” he asked and before she could answer him he’d shifted his arm carefully from behind her and grasped her glass as well as his own. He was a bit tipsy as he walked to the counter to select the liquor and mix it. “You don’t have to stick around though, after all is said and done. The deal didn’t include anything like that.” He didn’t look to her when he spoke, he let out a soft laugh. “It didn’t include feelings at all, huh?” He poured each drink expertly, though a bit splashed onto the counter. He was drunk. There was no doubt in that.
Vox weaved back over to Krysta and sat the two glasses upon the coffee table. He sat down and looked to her once again, his eyes searched hers. “Sometimes deals don’t always include everything in the fine print.” He chuckled, his hand on hers a smirk upon his lips. Vox shook his head then. “Will you go back to teaching young pupils?” He grinned as he watched her. “I would love to see that.” He had a playful tone once again. “Perhaps to fit in rather than being a bad guy like I have been in the past, maybe I’ll go for something better?” he smirked to her, “An officer?” He thought it over and scrunched up his face. “I couldn’t see that.” He pondered a long moment. “Detective? Ahh I could still dress nice.” He grinned to her. “I would basically be hunting demons and the corrupt humans that have been persuaded by demons.” He shook his head. “I’m not sure what I should do after all this is said and done, but, until then we must get to that point, hm? We still have to kill the Circle members as well as Lucifer.” His eyes gazed into hers then once again. “Easier said than done...unfortunately.”

As the two of them looked into each others eyes while they spoke in gentle tones Krysta found that she had to resist the urge to lean closer to Vox. Her mind flew back to the panicked moment after Delilah had been about to kill them and she had kissed him in order to heal his wounds. The moment had been fleeting and her eyes flickered to his lips as he spoke more than once. When he mentioned them fitting into the world together she felt her heart flutter in her chest but before she could react he was getting up to get them more drinks. As he pulled away and turned his back towards her she shook her head slightly to try and clear her mind, but it wasn't working. She could just see Ari, giggling with a smug look on her face, if she had known just how close Krysta had been to giving in.
When Vox returned with their refilled drinks she smiled and gladly took the strong beverage. "Thanks." She told him before taking a sip. "You a detective?" She looked at him as if she were judging something. "Yeah, I could see it. You've got the attitude for it." She giggled and before she could catch herself she had leaned against him once more. "I don't think I'll go back to teaching. Well, teaching kids that is. Maybe I'll go into self defense classes or something. Teach people how to survive when they get into a pinch. Since everyone knows about demons and angels I imagine they wont be as subtle in their presences anymore even if they can't rule over the world anymore." She smiled up at him. "Or maybe I'll just help you. Take down the last of the stragglers. Fighting seems to be my forte anyway."
"You.. you still don't remember anything from the other night do you?" She asked even though she knew the answer would be no as the guilt gnawed on her subconscious some more. "Do you regret letting it happen? Letting me get in your bed like that? You didn't seem to pleased the following morning."

Vox welcomed her back against him and his arm wrapped around her, a smile upon his lips. “You think so?” He let out a laugh and shook his head. “Maybe.” He seemed to think deeply a long moment before he finally looked to her. “I could use the side kick.” He mused and then his expression softened as she asked him about the other night. His jaw tightened slightly and he closed his eyes. “No...I...” He bit his lower lip.
Vox seemed uncomfortable once again, not panicked like before. But uncomfortable. He took in a long breath, “I don’t regret it, no.” He smiled to her and his arm tightened a bit more around her for a moment as he hugged her to his body. “My only regret is that I do not remember. That isn’t fair to you.” He then let out a soft laugh as if to lighten the tone. “I’m not usually one to lose control of myself like that you see...so it is embarrassing.” He searched her eyes.
He bit his lower lip again, his eyes traced over her face. He wrapped his arm a bit more around her then and grinned before he pulled her closer as he lay back, pulling her onto his chest. “Ari was right though, there is something about you.” He leaned up then and pressed his lips to hers. It was a long moment, his hand moved and his fingers curved around the side of her head. He lay his head back on the bolster of the couch then as he pulled his lips from hers and he smirked. “I’ll remember that, though.” He winked to her. “Do you regret it?” He asked. “I think that must be most important….each time it is brought up...” He paused and drew his brows together slightly and let out a long breath. “I’ve been trying to avoid asking you...because usually your smile goes away...” He brushed a bit of her hair out of her face and tucked it behind her ear as he gazed into her eyes. His own eyes were concerned. He felt terrible for not remembering, it honestly was eating him alive. Each time he thought of it and was met with zero memory he wanted to kick himself. To lose something like that...it wasn't like him. Vox let out a soft sigh then as he waited for her response.

As he held her and spoke of how it wasn't far to her that he didn't remember rather than just being angry that he couldn't remember the pleasure she felt the guilt grow even more. It wasn't fair to her? No, it wasn't fair to him. Then as he pulled her closer and she felt his lips press against hers and his finger threaded through her hair she felt a lump form in her throat. She couldn't take the lie anymore. When Ari had suggested the idea Krysta had thought the worst of Vox. That he was nothing but a means to an end. Now she could see that he was much, much more than that. He had grown to care for her and she cared for him but it was built on a deception.
"Vox.. I.." She gave a sigh and leaned her head against his chest as she hugged him tightly. She just knew he would be angry so she wanted to feel close to him one more time before she spoke her next words. "You don't have anything to regret because there's nothing to remember. Nothing happened that night besides me getting into your bed to sleep while you were passed out. We.. I wanted you to trust me." There wasn't any reason to bring Ari into this even though it was her idea. Krysta had been the one to perpetuate the lie this long. "I'm sorry, and though I know it doesn't mean much now probably I do regret lying to you."

Vox drew his brows together slightly when Krysta began to speak. Her voice had a different inflection in it, something that he hadn’t heard before from her. He brushed her hair to the side as she lay her head upon his chest. “What is it?” He asked as she gave a long sigh. The next words hit him like a hammer to his chest. He froze. His hand rest on the side of her head gently his eyes stared to the ceiling. It wasn’t anger that washed over his expression, no it was something else. He took in a breath and bit his lower lip slightly. “I see.” The words finally came over his lips. He’d caught the word we that she’d uttered before correcting herself. Though, Vox didn’t speak of it. He was silent for a few minutes, his eyes closed as he lay there. A chuckle came over his lips. “You played me well.” He raised a brow as his hand trailed along her back.
“At least you’ve told me.” He didn’t push her away,he seemed to hug her close to him, though if she wanted out of his arms, all she had to do was pull away from him, he wouldn’t stop her. “I understand you wanted me to trust you, I certainly didn’t especially with the background that you come from...I trust you now, but it isn’t because I thought that you’d slept with me.” He moved his hand and tilted her chin up to look into her eyes. “You saved me.” He searched her eyes. “I’m a demon, and you saved me, not to mention made a deal with me.” He smirked. Was it the alcohol that was keeping him calm? Or was this his true reaction?
Vox moved then slipping her carefully into a seated position so that he was seated next to her. He looked to her a moment and tilted his head. “Do you trust me?” He asked his crystal eyes trained in on her. “Or is that all a facade too in order to get me to help you destroy the circle?” He finished off his drink then and leaned back into the couch. “You made a deal with me, you don’t need to pretend to trust me in order for me to follow through with the deal...” He seemed hurt as he looked to the bottom of his empty glass.

Krysta was tense as she expected him to yell or even strike her, but instead he simply froze and then continued to gently caress her as he processed what she had said. Even after her confession she could feel the guilt still weighing her down, and as he continued to talk she felt like her heart was going to break in two. "No!" She answered after he asked if her trust had been a facade. "I do trust you, Vox. I didn't at first, of course, but I do now." As she sat on the couch next to him she cast her eyes down and rubbed her arm with her hand as if she had gotten the chills.
"That night I didn't trust either you or Ari. I hadn't seen who you two really are, but I know now and I wanted to come clean so that.." Why did she want to come clean? Just to clear her conscious? Or was there another reason? "I couldn't stand having you think I held something like that over your head. Especially since nothing actually happened between us." She looked up to see his hurt expression as he looked into the bottom of his glass and gave a short sigh as a frown pulled her corners of her lips down. "I know I probably don't deserve it, but I hope you can forgive me. I trust you with my life Vox and I would do anything to protect you as well."

Vox fumbled with his hands slightly. He didn’t look at her as he moved the glass around, the little bit of fluid that remained moved about the bottom of the glass. When she exclaimed that it wasn’t a facade he only nodded slightly. “I’m sure Ari had something to do with it.” He spoke, “She has her way of wrapping herself up in things, making deals to her advantage.” He looked to her a moment. “You did say we. You can’t take the blame entirely upon yourself darling.” He turned slightly more toward her. “If I were in your situation I would have done everything within my ability to secure myself safety as well. Kidnapped by a demon?” He flashed a smile then, he was hiding the pain that he felt within his chest, the lump within his stomach. “Well you weren’t really kidnapped...I did take you to save you. For whatever reason.” He shrugged slightly. “You intrigued me. That’s reason enough in my book.” He smirked.
He then stood slowly and headed to the kitchen with a bit of a wobble. He set his glass in the sink and leaned against the counter for a moment. “We should rest, hm?” He turned and looked to her. “That would be wise I presume. I’ll show you to your room.” He stepped toward a closed door and turned the handle. A king size bed was tucked away in the room, neatly made with a dark blue quilt. He leaned against the door frame, “It should be comfortable.” He looked to her a moment his eyes searched hers as if he wanted to say something. He let out a breath then before he turned and stepped to the bed. He pulled his belt buckle and slipped his jeans from his body as he kicked his shoes off. He then climbed into the bed beneath the quilt and lay on his back. He gazed up at the ceiling for a long moment before he closed his eyes. “I will protect you, Krysta.” He finally spoke, “Deal or not, I would protect you.”

She should have kept her mouth shut. Let the past lie and move one with their trust. All she had managed to do was set them back several steps and she fault like her stomach was twisted into several knots. She was really dense at times and now she had upset the one person who had given her the change to restore the world. The only thing she could do was watch as he got up and made his way over to the sing to deposit his glass then announce that it was time for bed.
No, she wasn't going to leave it like this between them. She could tuck her tail and mope all she wanted, beat herself up for choices she made to survive and thrive in this hell-scape of a world, or she could do something to snap him out of his own self pity. Getting up from the couch she followed him into the room and as he relaxed on the bed with his eyes closed. She would tear the blankets back off of him and quickly climb on top of him to pin him down so that he was forced to listen to her. "Stop it, Vox." She demanded. "I told you the truth so you wouldn't feel like you were missing out on something. I told you so that way moving forward as we face the horrors that this world is going to going throw at us with clear a conscious. You can be hurt, upset, or even pissed at me if you want. Or you could accept that I'm doing this to make as step in the right direction even if we got off on the wrong foot." She leaned down and grasped his face with her hands to force him to look into her eyes as she spoke her next words. Those icy blue eyes making her heart flutter a bit as she met his gaze. "I promise I will never lie to you again, for better or worse, you will always have the truth from me." She paused. "Just once, before we leap head long into this fight, where it is very real that either one or both of us will end up dead, let's just enjoy each other's company. If you're gonna be mad at me wait until after tonight." At the end of her speech she leaned down to kiss his lips once more as she prayed that it was enough to at least somewhat redeem her in his eyes.

Vox’s eyes shot open as the quilt was ripped away. He stared up to Krysta as he went to move but she pinned him in place. He stared up to her, his expression almost curious as she spoke. He hadn’t expected this from her. He didn’t fight to make his way from beneath her. He simply stared into her eyes as she demanded his attention. Vox went to speak just as she pressed her lips to his. Her words were strong, she didn’t back down from the fight. She didn’t run away with her tail tucked like a frightened hellhound. No, she stood up to him and explained her reasoning. He lifted his hands and wrapped his arms around her body as he pressed his lips back to hers. She was right. They could both end up dead. If not tomorrow. The next day could be a strong contender to claim their lives.
Vox took in a deep breath as he pushed her then and he rolled her onto her back. He leaned over her and gazed down to her with a smirk upon his lips. “Say I forgive you.” He spoke as he gazed into her eyes. “Which, I might.” He had a playful tone in his voice. He traced his fingertip along her lips and raised a brow as he searched her eyes. “You’re right you know? We could die….tomorrow.” He brushed her hair from her eyes as he leaned down and kissed along her jawline. “I shouldn’t mope around like a sad puppy dog.” He whispered into her ear before he gazed into her eyes once again with a smile upon his lips. His heart was racing within his chest as he looked over her expression. He then grasped a hold of her and pulled her so that he lay upon his back again, a chuckle came over his lips, he stared up to her as his hands rest upon her hips now. “I haven’t laughed like this in ages.” He spoke finally his voice serious a caring smile curved up his lips. “Ari was right about one thing, hm? You do have a quality about you that makes me smile.” He smirked then. “You think I would let you die?” He asked the playful tone in his voice once again. “That just wouldn’t happen, darling.” He chuckled then.

She had half expected Vox to push her off and perhaps start to yell at her. However, instead she felt him wrap his arms around her and return the kiss before pushing against her and shifting to where he had her pinned down to the bed instead. Looking up at him she could see the joviality in his eyes as he smirked and spoke in a sarcastic tone about forgiving her. When he leaned down to kiss along her jaw she felt her body go slack underneath him. She didn't tense or flinch away from him as she normally did. Instead she closed her eyes and shivered slightly as she felt his breath brush along her ear as he whispered. Then as she felt him grip her in order to roll back over to their original starting position she continued to lay against him for a moment, simply enjoying the warmth of his body against hers.
"Well, I can't die anyway cause someone has to look out for you. You don't really have the best track record on avoiding injury." She commented and then looked up at him with a smirk of her own on her lips. "Wanna make one more bad decision with me before we have to face tomorrow?" Though it was an indirect offer she was sure he would get her meaning. Might as well give in to each other before they never go the chance to later. Unless of course the insane mission to free the world from the forces of Heaven and Hell actually worked.

Vox watched Krysta carefully, the playfully smile stayed upon his lips as he listened to her speak. He let out a chuckle when she spoke of how much he'd injured himself. Perhaps he had a run of bad luck. It happened every hundred years or so. Her smirk caused him to raise his brow and then her next words caused a smirk of his own to curve up his lips. With quick succession he ran his hands up her back and rolled her back onto the bed, a grin upon his lips as he looked down to her. "I wouldn't call it a bad decision, hm?" He gazed into her eyes a long moment. The demon ran his fingertips along her cheek before he leaned in for a passionate yet lustful kiss. His hand ran along her body as he gazed into her eyes once again. "Isn't it just merely giving into our curiosity?" He spoke before he leaned in once again.
**
Without the sun to peek into the bunker sleep was an everlasting thing. Vox slept through the night peacefully and when he woke, he found Krysta in his arms, he'd pulled her onto his bare chest in his sleep. A smile lit his expression as he played over the memories of the past night that they made together. He watched her sleep peacefully for a moment before he carefully slipped his body from beneath her. He was careful not to wake her as he made his way into the kitchen. Vox wore a pair of black plaid pajama bottoms that he'd slipped on after the escapade the evening before. He glanced to an analog clock and smirked slightly, it was almost after noon. He almost wanted to stay in the bunker, it was so peaceful....the silence...it truly was golden. He mixed together powdered eggs and rummaged through the cabinets to put together a breakfast for them to enjoy. Luckily in the freezer he kept breakfast sausage and frozen hash browns. He threw together two plates and two mugs of fresh coffee before he placed them onto a serving tray. One meant for serving breakfast in bed. He slipped back into the bedroom and set the tray down carefully on the nightstand before he climbed back into bed. His hand trailed up Krysta's side before he brushed her hair from her eyes and he kissed her forehead. "Breakfast darling, or brunch rather." He spoke with a soft smile as he sat and fluffed his pillow behind him to bring the tray over for them to enjoy their breakfast. He sipped from his coffee and ate a few bites of the meal. "So, shall we take another member of the circle off of our list today?" He questioned and glanced to her curiously.
