Sebastian chuckled softly and shook his head. “Well, maybe someone should give you a few decorating tips?” He winked, playfully. “It is good not to clutter everything though. Have you ever been in a house where the walls are just….covered?” He shuddered slightly before he took the glass of wine from her. He smelled it and then smiled before he took a sip. “Ahhh this is nice.” He complimented. He then grinned when she mentioned her choice of movies. “Well, we might just get along then.” He followed her back into the living room. “I’m glad to hear that you’re not into the mushy gushy chick flicks.” He set his glass down upon the coffee table, on a coaster. He then moved to the television. “Well, I would rather choose from your collection. Let’s see…..” He knelt down to have a look through the DVDs that were on the shelf. “Hm.” He thumbed through them as he carefully made a choice.
It took him a few minutes, he’d pull a box out and read the back and then place it back. “You have a lot of movies I haven’t heard of. Small indy films?” He questioned as he lifted one up. “Is this one any good?” He asked with a grin. It was a space expedition film where the crew is sucked into a black hole causing them to crash land on an alien planet. He turned and pressed a few buttons and inserted the disc. He then stood and winced. “Ouch...that guy hit me a bit harder than I realized.” He gave a soft laugh.
Sebastian came back to the couch and sat down on the right end. He glanced to her and gave a smile before he took a drink of his wine. “I’ve gotten it as far as I can. You’re in charge now.” He laughed lightly. His phone buzzed in his pocket again. He’d put it on silence after the last phone call. Sebastian pulled it from his pocket to look at a message that popped up on the screen. Hey, I know we haven’t spoken in awhile, but I was thinking about you after what happened last night... It was a message from the mayor’s daughter. I’m sure you saw it on the news. Jackal attacked me, nearly killed me. I miss you Sebastian. Another text came through. He let out a breath as he cleared it from the screen. He shoved his phone back into his pocket again and then took another drink of the wine. “I’m going to run out of this stuff quick, it’s so good.” He smiled to her, “What is this stuff anyway? Import?”

"Oh yeah, my grandmother's house was like that. Filled to the brim with photos and trinkets. It always made me a nervous wreck to be around so much stuff. I felt like if I breathed to hard I'd knock over some valuable glass figurine or something and break it." She shuddered at the thought. "Yeah I enjoy those smaller films. They're usually full of bad acting but they're also very entertaining for some reason." She shrugged and sipped her wine again and watched as he flipped through the cases.
Even with the wine and drinking from earlier she was still a bit nervous. She couldn't stop thinking about how close they had been while dancing around the wooden floors of the bar before the small fight had broken out and ruined the mood. She wanted to be close to him again, but this was a far more intimate setting and she didn't want things to get weird between them. So she would stay on her side of the couch.
Once he had put his movie choice in she picked up the remote to the TV and clicked it on. Their were some opening trailers on the disc so she pressed the home button to skip by them. "It's just something I happened to find at the grocery store one time. It's like eight dollars and really good. It's sitting on the counter if you want more or wanna know the name. I can't ever remember. I just look for the floral label." She shrugged, giving him a guilty grin and then pressed play for the movie. "Is that the chief texting you?" She asked.

“The bad acting is the absolute best.” Sebastian had chuckled in response. He looked to her as she’d focused on the television, trying to click through the credits and trailers. “You just look for the label huh?” He smirked. He finished off his wine glass and stood. When she questioned him about his phone he took in a breath. “Uh...no...not the chief.” He gave an almost guilty smile. “I’m going to top off, I’ll bring the bottle so you can have some more too.”
Sebastian walked to the kitchen and pulled his phone from his pocket. He opened the message and stared at it for a long moment. “Where’s the light switch?” He spoke as he looked around. “Found it.” He called as he flipped on the light. He let out a sigh. You are the one that ended things, remember? His thumb hovered over send for a long moment. She would be dead soon. That was the worst part. Thinking about the fact that she would die and it was because of him. He pressed send and shoved his phone back in his pocket. He then turned off the light and grabbed the wine bottle. “I’ve never seen this one. Enchanted. Hm.” He chuckled as he topped off her glass before he poured more into his own.
“It’s good.” He had sat a bit more closely to her this time around. “Alright. Movie time.” He chuckled as he looked to the movie. He sipped his wine and relaxed into the couch. After about ten minutes he set his empty glass on the coffee table his body was warm with the alcohol that coursed through it. He leaned back and without thinking he moved his arm to the back of the couch, his fingertips grazed over Sabra’s left shoulder. “Oh...” He froze his eyes looked to her. “Uh...” He had just enough courage to keep his arm in place though, the wine helped with that. He smirked to her, “It’s like a bad romance movie.” He chuckled. “You know...when the guy stretches and wraps his arm around the beautiful girl?” He shook his head as he withdrew his arm. “Sorry about that, Sabra.” He fumbled with his hands in his lap then as he looked back to the movie.

Sabra looked back at him in the kitchen as he hesitated on replying to her question. She couldn't imagine who would be texting him at this hour, but then again it wasn't any of her business and she wasn't going to pry into the matter. She had just pointed towards the light switch when he found it and then turned back to look at the screen at the movie's opening scene appeared. When he returned and topped off her glass she smiled at him and immediately took notice of his closer proximity as her heart fluttered a bit in her chest.
As she felt his finger tips brush against her shoulder when he put his arm on the back of the couch she glanced back towards him and gave him a smirk. "You're fine Sebastian. I'm not that finicky about my personal space." She reached over and pat his leg gently and giggled, still feeling a little tipsy from the beers and now the wine. "Also, are you calling me a beautiful girl?" She giggled and playfully bat her eyelashes at him and leaned towards him to rest her head against his shoulder in an attempt to tease him or make him squirm.
"If this were a bad romance movie we'd both already have feelings for each other and just be avoiding the topic awkwardly the whole time." She reasoned and then gave a bit of uneasy laughter as she realized just how close to the truth her words were, at least from her point of view.

Sebastian chuckled, “Oh you’re not huh?” He glanced to her as she’d pat his leg. He smirked to her then as his arm stretched to the back of the couch once more. “Hm.” He hummed his eyes watching her. “Oh that’s a tough question, Sabra.” He winked, “I can’t tell you no. I’d be lying.” He then froze slightly as she leaned against him.
When she spoke the next line he drew in a breath. Oh how close to the truth it was indeed. He lanced to her and then grabbed the blanket from the back of the couch with his hand. He pulled it down and tucked it around her and then hugged his arm around her. “That would be something huh?” He chuckled. He looked back to the movie and bit his lip. “But what if it was?” He spoke after another long moment. A chuckle came over his lips. “I mean. I do buy you coffee every day.” He was much more brave with the wine than he ever would be with beer. That was for certain. “Man we need to find the writer for this and tell them to get some better content huh?”
Sebastian moved slightly, almost as if he was trying to make it more comfortable for her. He fell quiet then as he looked back to the movie. He told himself to focus. He didn’t want to make things weird. Not more than he already had at least. He then began to worry that he was making things weird. He had his arm around her...he was definitely making things weird...he bit his lip again.

As he grabbed the blanket from the back of the couch and tucked her in before wrapping his arm around her she glanced down at her lap and then looked back up to him. She could sense the tension in him and just how uneasy he was. Yet he was the one who had brought held her up against him. She had just been teasing him. When she heard the next words that he spoke she couldn't help but smile. "Yeah, I'd hate to see my coffee tab." She mentioned, her voice barely above a whisper.
When she heard him mention a new writer to get some new content for their hypothetical love story she couldn't help but smile as she watched him bit his lip out of the corner of her eye. "Oh, I don't know. I don't think the writing is all that bad." She replied and reached up and brought his face close to hers so she could give him a kiss on his cheek. It was something she never would have done in any other circumstance, but she was feeling brave and the moment felt right as they cuddled together on her couch with a cheesy scifi flick playing on her TV.
As she got close to him, with her lips pressed against his cheek, she thought she could hear something. It was feint like a low frequency buzzing sound, but as she looked back up at him with a playful smile still dancing on her lips she pushed the strange sound out of her mind. There were more important things than some small, annoying buzz that was barely audible and she didn't want to spoil the moment.

Sebastian chuckled when she mentioned her coffee tab. “It’s uh free of charge.” He spoke with a crooked smile. “On the house.” He looked to her a moment and then a soft laugh came over his lips when she replied to his silly comment about the writer. “Oh you think that the writer has plenty of new ideas huh?” He’d commented quickly just before she grasped the side of his face. He’d nearly frozen when she did this. He hadn’t expected it at all and as her lips pressed against his cheek he felt his cheeks warm. A genuine smile curved up his lips. “Ah, I do suppose that was a plot twist I didn’t see coming.” He glanced down to her as she’d looked back up to him.
“This is a good movie huh?” He smirked, he bit his lip again, he could feel the butterflies in his stomach. He gave a bit of a nervous laugh. “I uh...” He cleared his throat. “You know why I buy you coffee….right Sabra?” He asked with a shy smile. The wine really did make him talk. It made him want to say all the things he wouldn’t ever say. He swallowed as he searched her eyes before he let out a breath. It was the moment. He’d already posed the question. He had to answer it. He couldn’t just leave her hanging. His phone vibrated in his pocket then, it was in his left pocket and would have been pressed up against her side. “Um...” He bit his lip. “Sorry...about that...let me just...” He wiggled his right hand to reach across his body to slip the phone out. He then tossed it on the coffee table where it landed facedown. “I like you Sabra.” He spoke, his eyes gazed into hers. “That’s...uh….why I buy you coffee...besides...it makes you smile...usually...” He looked away a bit, nervous it seemed. He never really had to do this, to play this game. This was the first time he’d had to express his interest and it made him so incredibly nervous. Especially because his crush on her had been building for such a long time.

"It's becoming one of my favorites actually." She replied to his first question, her hand still lingering against the side of his neck after she had kissed him. When he posed his second question she raised an eyebrow with interest and shook her head slightly. "I thought you were just taking a bit of pity on me since everyone else gave me a hard time at the office." She replied before she felt his phone start to vibrate in his pocket. She moved her leg slightly to make it easier for him to get it and watched as he tossed it to the table and it slid to the opposite side.
His confession, after getting rid of the device, made her playful smile turn to more of an elated one. "Well, your coffees are what usually get me by every day. I can't think of how many times I wanted to call in but remembering that you brought that awesome cup of Joe every morning made me crawl out of bed anyways." She shifted slightly to move just a little closer to him. Even though she her crush on him had been going on for a while now she had never acted on it because of Echo. It was dangerous for her to bring someone into her life, but being nestled up against him while hiding from the horrible weather outside she felt like nothing could get to her or him in that moment. She felt safe and secure for the first time in forever and wasn't willing to let it simply slip away. "What would you say if I told you that the feeling is mutual? That I've liked you for a while?"

Sebastian only smiled to her response. He chuckled to her response to his question. “Ah well, maybe. If that is how you want to look at it.” He seemed to weigh the options out a bit before he grinned to her. “Though, I’m not so sure that was the case, at any point in time. I’ve never pitied you.” He could feel the nerves building up as he watched her smile at him. She didn’t look afraid, she looked happy about the words he’d said. He gave a chuckle when she spoke that the coffee was what got her out of bed each morning. “Me too.” He smirked back at her, almost sheepishly. It was true, he looked forward to her smile when he gave her the coffee each morning. Even though that was one of the few times he’d see her. The past few days had been the most he’d ever gotten to speak to her, or even be around her for that matter. It was nice. He couldn’t argue with that.
Her response to his confession finally came over her lips. Sebastian could feel his pulse increase as he smiled. He held her a bit more closely as she’d moved closer to him. She felt like a puzzle piece against him, like she belonged at his side. “I don’t know what to say, Sabra.” He gave a soft chuckle. “I can only say that the writer of our tale is rude.” He grinned to her, “You mean to tell me...that you and I have both been tip toeing around each other...and...we both felt the same?” He looked almost giddy now as he looked to her. Like a school boy that had gotten the present from Santa that he’d wished for a thousand times. In this moment all his thoughts of Jackal were washed away. He had not a care in the world. Though, certainly the fear of him involving her would smack him in the face eventually. But for now. He was enjoying this moment. He shifted slightly though, his side ached. The bruising that Echo had left from their altercation the night before swiftly reminded him of the dangers.
Sebastian gazed into her eyes, a soft smile on his lips. He reached up then and brushed his thumb along her cheek, and then along her jaw. His eyes seemed to be studying her features, his own expression was curious. He brought his eyes to meet hers and the smile came back to his lips. “You drew me in rather quickly actually. I couldn’t resist. That’s...why I started buying you coffee. Just to see you smile. To say good morning to you...and from there I was hooked.” He let out a soft laugh. “Cheesy, I know.” He muttered, he had a red blush about his cheeks as he lowered his head slightly.

"Cheesy is good." She whispered back to him as they drew closer. Sabra was loving being so close to him. Feeling the steady rise and fall of his breath as he held her against him. The fluttering feeling in her stomach as they drew even closer together. At that moment she wished she had time powers rather than that of sound so she could freeze them in this moment. So she didn't have to be Echo, didn't have to be a filing clerk at the precinct, and the only thing she did have to be was held.
"What would you say if I kissed you?" She asked in a low voice, barely above a whisper. "I really want to." She had enough sense left through her couple of drinks to not simply lunge head long into things, but that didn't mean she had a filter for what came out of her mouth. Even the expression she wore was one of admiration with a touch of pleading as she hoped he wouldn't deny her small request.

Sebastian chuckled to her response a grin spread across his lips once again. When she posed her next question his cheeks blushed slightly. "I'd say this." He spoke as he leaned forward. His hand placed upon the side of her jaw. He leaned forward and pressed his lips to hers. It was a kiss that lingered for a moment, a kiss that showed he'd been waiting months just to kiss her. When he leaned back he gave an almost giddy laugh as he looked to her. "What would you say...to that?" He asked with a raised brow. "I've been waiting a long time to do that..." He admitted to her, a blush running over his cheeks. Deep down Sebastian was as soft as a teddy bear, though at work he was the total bad ass that all the other officers wanted to become one day.
His hand remained on her jaw, he was so close to her he could smell her perfume. His eyes searched hers as he resisted to kiss her once again. Could he? He imagined he could. Though he didn't want to push his luck. He'd gotten this far with her. Then the sound of his phone vibrating rattled upon the table. His smile faded slightly. "I don't want to end our moment. But let me put that to rest, hm?" He slipped his arm from around her and reached for his phone. He grabbed it and scanned his thumb. He clicked open a trail of text messages. His eyes looked over the words. It was from Moira, the mayor's daughter. She'd sent him several text messages. The last one was that she didn't feel safe being alone. Was it painful? Yes. Especially because she was the one that left him. Just 5 days before their wedding. It was like ripping open an old wound, though it was gouged deeper this time. He let out a long breath and punched in a few keys. I can't talk right now. He replied and set his phone back on the table. He sat there a moment, his mind racing. He couldn't let her die. The longer he had to wait for the toxin to kick in the more he regretted following the orders of Ira. He poured himself a bit more wine and drank it before he leaned back and wrapped his arm back around Sabra. "Sorry about that, Sabra." He looked back to her and smiled. "Oh back to your question..." He smirked then. "I'd say you can kiss me whenever you want." He chuckled playfully then.

The kiss was exactly what Sabra had been hoping for. It was soft, tender and as he pulled away she wanted more. As his lips left hers she inhaled softly and smiled up at him and leaned into his hand that lingered upon her jaw. She was in absolute bliss, but that bliss was interrupted slightly when she heard his phone go off again. Someone really wanted his attention it seemed and she simply nodded and let him lean forward to get his phone off the table in order to respond to who ever it was.
When he returned his attention back to her she smiled and gave a chuckle as he tried to restore the previous conversation and intimacy. "I'll keep that invitation in mind then." She told him and reached up to trace her finger along his own jaw as she leaned against him. The small break while he answered his phone allowed some of her clarity to restore and she remembered just how dangerous it could be to partake in any kind of relationship with him. If anyone found how who she was and wanted to get back at her he would be the easiest way to get to her. Although no matter now many times she told herself this within her own mind she couldn't bring herself to push him away. Not when she had been looking forward to such a moment for so long.
"Sebastian.. what if.. what if you learned something about me. Something you didn't expect and it wasn't necessarily something that could just be ignored once you knew it?" She knew she was being vague. "I mean, we haven't seen each other outside of work much. What if there's something about me you just really don't like?"

Sebastian grinned to her response as his hand rubbled along the outside of her arm. He closed his eyes slightly as she traced his jaw. What was he doing? If Ira found out about this little adventure he would kill Sabra. Or hurt her. Especially if Sebastian didn’t do as he was told when he was playing the part of Jackal. Though, the other thought came to his mind. What happened if she found out? What if she uncovered who he was...she would be absolutely devastated. She wouldn’t understand that it wasn’t his choice. That he was forced to commit such deeds. That if he didn’t more would die, with many of those being people close to him. He imagined Sabra standing over his grave as the bomb went off. He couldn’t let that happen. He had to do something. He had been working on trying to figure out how to stop Ira from controlling him, or at least cause the device in his neck to stop working. That was something that he couldn't’ seem to crack.
As his mind ran circles he seemed to pull her closer. His fingertips of his other hand traced along the back of her hand, a smile upon his lips. When she began to speak he was broken from his thoughts. Sebastian gazed to her, a playful smile curved up his lips. “Don’t tell me you’re into something really weird.” He chuckled as he moved his fingertips to trace along her jaw. His smile softened. “Sabra, I’ve had a crush on you for too long for you to try to run me off.” He smirked then. “It won’t be that easy at least. You’re going to have to try pretty damn hard to get rid of me. Especially after that kiss.” He winked and then let out a breath. “But...in all seriousness, what’s troubling you?” He asked, his expression filled with concern, his eyes searched hers then. “I’m sure it isn’t anything I can’t handle, Sabra.”
